I'd wreck his life. For mine, he'd burn down the world.

Jamieson was my penpal.

My first crush. My surf-crazy, impulsive, pyro boy, and the secret I kept from the world.

Until he broke us up before we ever met.

When I discover he's been imprisoned by an evil man, saving him becomes my only goal.

Except his enemy wants me too.

He was fire and water. With him, I'd either drown or burn.

--

Burn (Dark Island Scots, #4) brings this smexy and thrilling series to a breathtaking finish. This is Jamieson and Summer's romance, so expect fiercely passionate scenes between a plus-sized heroine and her fire-loving, reckless hero.

With nothing left to lose, our tribe of found family have to risk it all to end the war against them.

Please note this series contains darker themes.

I need a moment to recover cause oh my gosh what was this book? I'm convinced there was some crack in this book or rather the series because I couldn't stop binging it.

The action and plot progression in this was pretty much perfect. The way the series ended with the characters and their specific storylines leaves me both hopeful and satisfied, kind of what I was looking for.

Summer is such a badass fmc. I absolutely adored her. Her struggles and trauma are so heavy to read but yet it was written in a way that ended up empowering her by the end of the book. I absolutely loved that. I loved how everyone was patient with her, offered silent support and respected her boundaries that she set up.

Burn aka Jamieson, is her perfect man. He is so patient with her and the others despite his own heavily burdened issues. He turns into a completely different person around for those he loves and cares for. The way he took charge and made her feel comfortable, became a source of comfort- absolutely loved it.

The chemistry between the two is pretty much perfect. The two compliment each other amazingly and I loved the pen pal concept, the slow burn and yearning which showed depth to their relationship. The spice was delicious as always.

I adored the ending. It left me wanting more and Arran is someone I just know I'll obsess over. I can't wait to read the Body Count series 😩

Spice: 3/5 🔥🔥🔥

“Remember how we used to promise each other that we’d stop the other if we went too far?”
“Let’s go too fucking far,” he amended. “Always, and in all things. We’ll go too far, because nothing less than that will ever do.”

Burn is the fourth and final book(excuse me while I go cry) in the Dark Island Scots series. This book picks up right were we left off from book three. Summer and Jamieson is the focused main couple of this book but really they all get a lot of light.

“He was fire and water. With him, I’d either drown or burn.”

I’m so sad to be saying goodbye to this family jam. All these characters are so well thought out and written with expertise. Jolie Vines did the damn thing and did us all proud with this book.

“When you’ve heard this, find me and tell me you’re waiting for me to show you. And I will. Your Summer.”

Jamieson and Summer are fire together (no pun intended). They could light up the sky together. Summer is so strong willed and tough, she is a badass warrior woman, who stops at nothing. She just meets Jamieson head on and accepts him for who he is. I adore the toughness of Summer and she easily become my new fav. Sorry Lottie, I still love you!

“If ye run again, expect me to hunt ye down.”
“Is that a warning or a promise?”

I loved this book and Cassie our little spunky angel is my all time favorite. Good thing she has so many people to look out for her.💜

“I want to get ye used to my touch. So I’m going to love on ye a little now, but this isn’t about sex. Completely unrelated and leading to nowhere apart from us getting close. Sound good?” - Jamieson

This was the perfect way to end a series. Make sure you check out the bonus scene Jolie Vines shared with us.

“Don’t you dare. Don’t any of you dare think this is over. And don’t for a second think that we’re going to be sitting here waiting to never hear from you again. I’ve done that once and learned a lesson.” -Summer

Happy Reading ❤️‍🔥

If you ever want to know how much I love this series:
Everytime I have a phone call with my friend I talk about it at least once. We have phone calls at least once a week, sometimes three times a week.

EXCUSE ME WHILE I CRY!!

i knew this book was coming but I delayed reading it as much as I can.

BUT MS. JOLIE VINES SERVED AND IT BURNS!!!! (pun indented)

I cant believe this is over and BOY DO I HAVE MOMENTS TO WANT TO POINT PUT

The first moment that caught my attention and made me laugh like a hyena was this one:

“Hold the wheel,” Sin snapped at Struan in the passenger seat.

"Drop the kamikaze shite. Do something like that again, and I will fucking handcuff ye to my arm, which will get really fucking awkward fast."

SIN REALLY IS EVERYONE'S FATHER AT THIS POINT 😂😂 I had do Google the word kamikaze because I didn't know it was spelled like that 💀💀

Then there's the.... Dogs vs Jamieson saga that he won 😂😂

“No ye fucking don’t,” I growled at the shadows.
“Fuck off,” I yelled at them.
“Okay. I’ll stand right here. Ye know, ye remind me of my brother, Sin. He looks at me like that, too.”

I wonder if sin knows that he was compared to a dog....

"I’m so used to being alone and recording messages for ye. Now you’re here, so fucking pretty it hurts, and my dick won’t behave. I’ll face away until he calms down."

AWWWWW with a hint of 'oh😉😏' BUT THIS GUY IS SO ADORABLE 🤧🤧 my favourite little virgin

“Lottie,” he bellowed, at the same point reaching to cover my ears with his hands. “What’s cooking?”

“Burgers. Get yourselves down here,” she called back with a smile in her tone.

“Oh my God. I love ye, Ma,” he hollered back.

THIS INTERACTION IS SO ADORABLE I WISH I WAS FICTIONAL

'He stood alert on his board, sighting me. Then he jerked and fell, crashing into the waves. I shot my hand to my mouth, and my sister laughed, elbowing me.'

HA. Breeze said this'll happen

“Lottie’s pregnant.”
Sin raised a shoulder. “I’m not saying this is good timing or that we know what we’re doing, but we’re really fucking happy.”

OH MY GEEEEERD I GOT SO HAPPY IN THIS MOMENT I FELT LIKE I DIED

“I’ll teach the bairn to surf, Or steal cars. Ye can choose.” Both skills were useful.

🥺🥺🥺🥺 Yes burn, both skills were useful

Then there's the 4 brothers sitting around a fire and honestly....

Them talking about their kinks around a fire, honestly the funniest yet the most adorable thing ever

Then there's this:

Sin gave a dark chuckle, and his lips quirked into a knowing smile. “In a few years, we’re going to have one hell of a problem.”

“What?” I asked.

“A fuck ton of kids between us.”

OH YEAH!!

Also, I realised that one day, Sin will actually cuff Jamieson to him 😂😂
BECAUSE THAT GUY SETS SHIT ON FIRE WHEN SIN ISNT CLOSE BY

“You’re already busy over there making my bairn. I’ll finish this then carry ye upstairs so I can gently fuck your brains out while we still have an empty house.”
Sin will forever be my favourite for BEING THE STANDARD

“I’ve been out of my mind with worry,” the older man chastised me. “I get that ye have your secrets, but no one can do everything on their own. Sometimes ye just have to let others fucking help.”

Gordain 🥰🥰

There's also burns Tanturm on the boat 💀😂

Burn wanting to eat Summer

“Okay, it looks safe enough. What do you want?”

“Ye.”

“To eat, I mean.”

“Same answer.”

😂😂 Crazy

ALSO:

“It wasn’t your fault, ye fucking idiot. Drop the hangdog look and get your head back in the fucking game. We need ye with it. Cassie needs us all for our next attempt. Got it?”

Love that they went from this

To this

“Thanks,”

“Don’t mention it.” Jamieson hugged him.

Jamieson knew what Struan needed. AND HE PUNCHED THE IDIOT OUT OF HIM!!

"Struan wants to marry Thea. Right now, he’s upstairs telling her, and we’re going have a beach wedding this evening."

OH.MY.GOD.
I expected Sin and Lottie to go first BUT THE FIRST 2 ARE GETTING MARRIED

“Ha,” McInver exclaimed. “You’re jealous. Ye wish ye had offspring half as interesting as mine.”

The only time I've ever seemed to enjoy something this idiot said.

He’d asked me to marry him while between my legs and ready to fuck me into acceptance.

Of course Struan did that 💀💀

'They’d clearly thrown him in the sea as some kind of bachelor ritual.'

Most brotherly thing the brothers could do😂😂

"And be able to support him, because God knows how this fucker will ever get a job."

“Now kiss each other because all that fighting to throw that heavy fucker into the sea has left me really needing a beer.”

Burn being a menace at the wedding 😂😂

“This is livestreaming.”
I SCREAMED

'Sin swung around and picked up Cassie, holding her to him like he’d fight anyone who came near. Summer handed him the court order, and he grabbed it and stormed away. The detective eyed the paper, but if he thought to check it, he changed his mind and let my brother barge out of the room of horrors.'

OH YEAH!!

Outside the safe house, the fire pit still glowed. In Sin’s arms and holding Lottie’s hand, Cassie peered at it.

“Pretty, isn’t it?” I told her.

Sin threw me a glance. “Oh, no. You’re not making her a pyro.”

“Sorry, Da,” I groused back.

THIS WAS FUNNY

Then there's Lottie and Sin being actual parents 🥺🥺

Outside the kitchen door, Cassie finally opened her mouth. “Are we home, Ma?”

Lottie took a shuddering breath and smiled. “Yes, my sweet girl. It is until we find a forever place. But with ye back, we’re all finally home.”

Sin carried her to each door to say good night to us all.

OH MY GOD-
THIS MADE ME WANT TO SOB

Then there's the brother's when their 'father' died

“Holy shite, the old goat is dying,” muttered.

This guy is a menace 😂😂

“What the fuck are we supposed to do?”

“Be respectful, motherfucker.”

“Ye be respectful. Would ye talk over your father’s dead body with a mouth like that?”

“Don’t. Golding will hear us. At least he’s upset.”

Sin rolled his eyes then stood. “McInver. Ye claimed you’ll watch us from Heaven, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be warmer where ye end up. I only hope we can go on to live better lives despite having ye as a da. Rest in peace.”

“Rest in peace,” the rest of us chorused.

“Motherfucker,” I added at the end.

Sin reached out and cuffed me behind the ear while Camden and Struan fought back laughter.

ISTG- THESE BROTHERS ARE SO FUCKING FUNNY YET SO LOVING AND SO CARING IT'S AMAZING

but it's over, and I'm crying.

I love them all because they all deserve the world

From losing their mothers, to being taken to jail, to finding their women and their sister (and Sin's now daughter)

Their family is now complete!!

I've been reading this series since the first book came out, I spotted it on tiktok and screamed

'I NEED IT!!'

then that book sent me down a Jolie vines book spiral. I don't think I'll ever make it out.

ALRIGHT, THE RANKING

1. Sin, I can't displace him from first place, this guy is a new version of amazing
2. Burn, a menace arsonist, yet he's my favourite menace arsonist
3. Ruin and Scar, I don't feel like I connected with them as much as the first 2 so they both go in third place

Alright.... Hopefully I'll see more of you darling scots

Остання книга і це гідне і захопливе завершення серії "Dark Island Scots".

Пара: Джеймісон (Бьорн) & Саммер

Тропи:

🧡Другий шанс
🧡Сильна головна героїня
🧡found family

I am giving it 3 starts. I thought their romance was a bit lackluster. My favorite in the series is still Camden and Breeze. I just thought the romance in this book is a bit insta-lovey for my taste. I needed more development from Summer and Burn's story.

Still glad how Vines wrapped up sibling's stories.

Wow! An explosive, heart-thumping finale to this fabulous series! Dark, passionate and action-packed, this story was pacy and brought everything to such a wonderfully satisfying and happy end for the brothers and the women they love.

Told mainly from Jamieson AKA Burn and Summer's POV, we also had snippets from the other characters, reinforcing the relationships between the individual couples.

"Summer was mine. My obsession. My everything. She always had been."

Summer is broken by her experiences and Burn just wants retribution and to keep his family safe by any means necessary. I loved Burn's patience as Summer worked through her issues, and his willingness to help her get past them. For all his violent tendencies, Burn had a beautiful, soft heart. Summer had so much regret for her past actions and major trust issues, but I loved how the family adopted her into the fold without question, and bit by bit, she relaxed into her new place amongst them.

Seriously, just like the previous three novels, so much happens in this book, as the author steadily brought everyone back together again and gave us an ending that was optimistic for the family. She even gave us yet more surprises along the way, and a thread for a possible new story. And, I've got to mention the spice in this story!! Burn by name, burn by nature! LOL. Wowsers! 🔥🔥🔥 An unforgettable series that I'm sad has ended, but I feel like I can finally take a deep breath of relief for our characters and their HEAs.

Just wow. I absolutely loved this book and what an epic conclusion to an awesome series.

In this book we follow Jamieson and Summers journey in getting to know each other and over coming their demons both separately and together. It’s also a a conclusion to all the brothers journey and has such a good ending.

Oh my god. I thought I had a favorite with Ruin and Scar but Burn, Jamieson, he took me for a wild ride. I love how Jolie took a wide spread issue (trafficking) and brought awareness to it while telling a story. It’s a huge issue and more needs to be done but I’m not here to comment on that haha. Summer and Jamieson are fire together, one burns they both burn. The found family trope is fast coming a new favorite and this group makes me smile. The spice, while it was teased for a good chunk of the book, when it hit between them, it hit. I swear every book in this over arching story tree of Scots the spice gets better and better. It wrapped up DIS so well but I am sad there won’t be more, for now. Watching the characters grow into their own over the past 4 books was amazing.

𝑩𝒖𝒓𝒏 - 𝑱𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒆 𝑽𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔

What a great ending to a series. I’ll admit, I was curious to see how everything would work out in the end for this family and let me tell you that I was not disappointed. I was also curious to see more of Burn and Summer, and although my heart still belongs to Scar, I love them as a couple.

I loved that this book had a lot of focus on the plot and what I consider the thriller part of the series. I was afraid that there would be too much focus on the couple and that the plot of the family would be a little rushed, but that didn’t happen. I would say it was the perfect combination of plot and romance.

I consider this book to be the darkest of the four. Not only because of Burn’s and Summer’s kink but also because of the subject of the plot. It’s heavy and can be infuriating but I loved how everything was approached and taken care of.

This series was one of the best discoveries I’ve made. I loved every book but these last two have my heart. It’s a very well-done series that I highly recommend to everyone who loves dark romance with a mysterious plot involved!

Read the trigger warnings before tho!

Burn is the final book in the Dark Island Scots series. It is a second chance romance following Jamieson (Burn) and Summer. It starts off right where the last book, Scar, ended with Summer trying to escape captivity and Burn in jail. This book was full of nonstop action, adventure and suspense.

“He was fire and water. With him, I’d either drown or burn.”

Summer was definitely a strong independent FMC and I loved that. Even after experiencing captivity and having the trauma she did, she isn’t a weak helpless woman. Burn was hot. Let’s just get that out there. He’s the touch and d!e type of guy and let’s just say… he did just that. Neither character has a great childhood but they had each other as pen pals and they helped each other get through their childhood trials.

Definitely check triggers because Jolie went dark with this series and I loved it. I ate it all up. Lots of dark themes. On page deaths. This series was a wild ride and I’m glad I buckled up. This story was wrapped up with a lovely little bow and I’m glad there’s finally closure and the boys can live carefree in their forever home.

PS. I ended up really liking McInver. I said what I said!

Jamieson and Summer had a history but thought they'd seen the last of each other. Until Summer stormed the proverbial castle to get him out of jail when she realized who he really was. He swore to keep her safe from her persecutor, the same man wanting him dead. Reuniting with her sister, coming to know the rest of the clan, Summer understand Jamieson's drive to keep his family safe, the same urgency she felt to bring down the men responsible for the human trafficking she almost fell prey to. And along their journey they realized that the years apart didn't dim any of the feelings they had for each other. This story, the conclusion of the series, tells the tale of the love for family, the drive to keep loved ones safe. Also the story of survivors of horrors too bad to even imagine who lived to tell their story and find happiness and love. I received an ARC copy and am leaving a voluntary review.

Jolie has always been great at bringing the fire 🔥🔥🔥into her books... but with Burn she brings it to while new level (both metaphorically and literally...) with my newest favourite scot, pyromanic Burn!!

I've loved the journey in this newest series (Dark Island Scots) and how its characters are so much "rougher around the edges" but all still genuinely earn (and fight for) the HEA's that they deserve, but follow a much darker, twisted and often times blocked path to get there.

I'm sad to see the end of their journey, but I am still super excited to see where you take us to next Ms Vines... just promise me we will still see guest appearances of them in some future books too... im not quite ready to let go yet 😊😊😊

What a Ride!!!

Oh man! How did you get me to not hate McInver as much… (seriously)

What a rollercoaster this was! This was the story of Burn and Summer and the conclusion of the Dark Island Scots series. Things started off rough… Burn was in jail, Summer was being held captive, Cassie was still in foster care, Scar and Breeze thought Summer was gone, Sin, Struan, Lottie & Thea were working to reunite everyone and McInver had woken up.

I wasn’t sure how this was going to unravel as those who we’re against them were uping their game and threats… But Jolie unwrapped it expertly with surprise assist…..

It was fabulous! I’m only sad it’s over!

You’re going to need lots of tissues and several iced drinks in order to get through BURN. Jolie Vines has delivered without a doubt one of the finest and most poignant conclusions to a series that I’ve ever had the privilege to read. She always gives us the best of the best, but she has really raised the bar with this one! You definitely don’t want to miss this one.

BURN has a killer storyline; phenomenal characters; plot twists and turns you just don’t see coming; and the best possible HEAs ever! I loved this book…even though I cried my heart out and couldn’t believe all the pain and agony these characters went through. Am so glad that love and family triumphed over evil. Grab this book today! You’ll be so glad you did…❤️❤️❤️ (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was totally blown away!) Jolie Vines— you rock!!

I have tears right now because I am sad that this part of the series is over!

I loved each of the brothers, their ladies and their sister Cassie, though Cassie played a small role.

This was Burn and Summer's story really! And how amazing!

I love that they were phone pen pals! Their connection was palpable!

This story as well as the others were action-packed, emotional and darn sexy!

I KNOW that I'll be going back and re-reading each story again!

I'm glad these characters coerced Ms. Vines to spill their stories onto paper!

What an amazing storyteller!

Burn showed me that lost love can be found again!!!! I loved the telling of the love, respect, patience, and dedication that Jamieson gives to Summer. The strength and strong will that Summer has shows us that she is NOT a victim but a Survivor. Those two together WOW!!!!! The family, together, will move mountains. I can't wait to read Arran's story and how he overcomes the legacy his father left behind.....looks like Burn helps him with his first hurdle....tee hee.

I’ve been along for the ride since Obsessed. I’ve read ALL of her books. She’s my absolute fave author. The Dark Island Scots are all amazing.
I won’t spoil anything but you have to read this book. Read them in order it’s so worth it. Jamieson and Summer are the prefect fire and waves together. She so strong after everything and he’s just amazing.
This book pushes their family to breaking points and the Boys with this strong Viking warrior women fright for their little family. The ending is perfect for Burn .

Took me a week to read because I wanted to savour it. It could have been a one day and done which is fine to do to.

Just get off the reviews and go read the book. You’re wasting time reading this. But thank you for reading it

Thank You Jolie Vines for sharing your beautiful talent of bringing us into the world of Scots. I’m excited for what comes next.

Burn is the fourth book in a series about four brothers, their father and each of their mothers we also see Jamieson connecting with Summer who he already knew before being kidnapped and placed in “rehab” on an island. Burn and the other brothers - Ruin, Sin, and Scar are not for the faint of heart. There’s a reason that the author calls this set - the Dark Scots series. So be warned- read at your own risk- and fall in love with the brothers, their little sister and their gals. Grab your favorite beverage, snacks and a fan - as Burn is swoon worthy. Might want some smelling salts too!

OMG! When I started, I knew I wouldn't want to stop and I had to, when I couldn't see the words on the Kindle any more. What a fabulous ending with some old favourites (hello Seb, Gordain, Max) and popping on by to do what they've always done best.

Burn is the conclusion to the Dark Island Scots and I have to admit, I wasn't sure HOW it was going to get wrapped up. I ache for Arron, I want his story. I want Cassie's too.

But, if you want to know about this band of brothers, their fiesty warrior lasses and the battles they're all facing, start with Ruin. Better yet, start with Marry The Scot and work yer way through ALL things MacRae. You'll thank me for it later. <3

What a great ending for these siblings!! Jamieson and Summer were something else. I loved that their love spanned years. I hated what they each had to endure, both prior to the present time and their current situations. The one thing I wished though was that summer had gotten a grasp of the whole situation right away. She kept thinking everything was her fault when in honesty she was just a small little blip in the whole horrible drama. But I did love her strength! These boys and girls had to endure so much pain and suffering, more than anyone ever should. They deserve their HEA. They deserved their made family!! I'm so thankful that I got to experience their story with them.

On a side note.. Arran deserves his happiness too. ❤

Burn by Jolie Vines is book 4 in the Dark Island Scots Series. This is the story of Jamieson 'Burn' and Summer. This series is a interconnection one so it does help to read the previous book. Jamiseson and his brothers have been through it but nothing has given Jamieson a release other than Summer. Not even his burning habit. Only, Summer seems to smooth him but she too has her own issues as we learn. Enjoyed this book and series.

Jolie Vines has killed it with Burn the final book in her Dark Island Scots series!

My Review ⤵️

If you have read any of this series you know Burn, and if you are like me you are excited for his story.

Jamieson and Summer have a past and this story lets us know all about it. But this book is so much more, we get all the answers to all of our questions, we get HEAs for all the brothers and so much more.

Jolie has wrapped this series up beautifully, we get to spend time with all the couples we love and we even get a glimpse into the future. This is definitely a series that you need to start from the beginning, so you get the experience that is Jolie Vines!

So be sure to start with Ruin and don’t stop until you have to!

The series just keeps getting better and better so that now I can’t keep up with which couple are now my favorites. The title of this book is spot on. I would definitely recommend this series.

Finally I got the end of the brothers story! I have longed after Burn since Jolie first introduced him to me in Ruin. This young, troubled man with a love for fire.
If you have read Scar you know that Burn is in prison or he got caught by the chief of police.

Jamieson is in trouble and Summer finds out. After not know anything about what has happened and why he broke up their relationship she finds out that he is locked up.

We get to know how Burn and Summer meet, how they became a couple and then follow how it evolves. It’s a really good love story!

We also get to listen in on a weird kink Diskussion between the brothers, find how out Divine fits in to the story, what happened when the sisters mother came to Scotland and so much more.

And since it’s a Jolie story it’s lots of good smex and plot.

If you want a dark story get Ruin, Sin, Scar and Burn. You will love them!
To make it even more fun start with the Marry the scots series.
