Noel loves Christmas but more than anything she loves spreading joy. When she meets her new sexy, dark, and mysterious neighbor Luka Donovan she can’t help but notice how gloomy and grumpy he is about the holiday season. I mean he cuts her Christmas lights down, or so she thinks. She wants to cheer him up, but isn’t sure how. That is until she realizes it’s not the Christmas presents under the tree that he wants to unwrap, it’s her.
**This is a short, dark, totally smutty little Christmas novella to get you feeling cheerful.**
Darcy Rose is a USA Today Bestselling author who writes about shy and innocent heroines, to match them up with dark and intense heroes who have only eyes for one girl.
If you like your books short, taboo, dark, and a bit (or a lot) kinky, then Darcy Rose is perfect for you.
Still in the spirit of the season, another short story about Christmas. I usually like Darcy's short stories, they're hot, funny and sexy. This started liked that, but quickly lost its way.
Since this one doesn't have description, it's kinda like this:
"Noel loves Christmas but more than anything she loves spreading joy. **This is a short, dark, totally smutty little Christmas novella to get you feeling cheerful.**"
a sweet and spicy holiday romance! for a novella, this had a lot of emotion behind it and I wish we delved into that more… his mood swings gave me major whiplash and she forgave him way too easily.
The way Luka dominates Noel will have you panting and asking yourself, how do I find me a naught santa too.
Noel loves Christmas so much she's seemingly annoying her neighbors to the point of vandalism. Someone keeps sneaking over to her yard in the middle of the night and cutting the power cords on her holiday lights. She thinks its her brooding neighbor who is gruff and burly but she is vastly mistaken.
Luka may seem like the Grinch but he has some deep seated holiday trauma that he hasn't found a way to overcome. So when his adorable little neighbor ends up catching his attention for all the pants tightening reasons he can't help but become her savior.
For a quick read this one was enjoyable and I'm sure I'll pop back in and read it again before the holidays are over.
Well, I liked the cover. I was liking the story too until I found out he has a dead wife. She was his great love and he was still very much in love with her. He said some thing and his actions proved that he loved his dead wife and he was trying to replace her with the heroine. He also said how the two looked alike both appearance and personality wise, which just proved that he was just using the heroine to fill the space his wife left. He was never in love with the heroine and he'll never love her for her.
There was one scene where she found his wedding photo. He first threw water bottle above her head. He then took her by the arms, screamed at her face and then threw her away from himself. He then continued to destroy his bedroom. Then this happens:
Then he whirls on me again, and the rage in his eyes—and his clenched fists—make me recoil in fear. “Please, don’t hurt me.” I throw my arms over my head, cowering, waiting for one of those fists to make contact. “Get out of here,” he pants. “Get away from me.” I’m not about to press my luck. I’m too scared to even look at him. My hands shake as hard as the rest of me, but I manage to get my clothes together, pulling on my sweater and leggings in the hallway, then shoving my feet into my shoes before running down the stairs and out the door without a backward glance, my coat and hat in my arms.
I couldn't believe what I was reading. This is an interaction between hero and heroine in a romance book at 55%. I've read dark romances, and maybe sometimes heroes can be abusive toward heroines, but that happens in the beginning and they evolve over time and become protective and caring. Rough sex is a different thing and as long as consenting adults are involved it's fine. But the guy in this book... he evolved backwards. He went from nice to abusive and the only appropriate ending for this would've been for her to get far away from him and find someone she'd never have to be afraid of and someone who'd love her for her, not because she reminds them of someone. But sadly, they ended up together. It wouldn't surprise me if he started first abusing her, and then ended up killing her in fits of rage.
She was pathetic, spineless and pitiful, he was abuser with anger problems and I don't think I'll ever read anything by this author ever again.
This book will get even the grinchiest of grinches in the naughty holiday spirit!! Here we have Noelle. She absolutely adores Christmas and loves decorating her house. But her grinchy neighbor, Luka, doesn’t get why.. when she invites him over for some delicious baked ziti.. they decide to get right to “dessert”. Only. There’s definitely more than meets the eye with this one. Turns out this “Scrooge” has a past when it comes to Christmas
Perfect holiday spicy novella!! 5 stars for Santa and his little elf!!! Ho ho ho
Synopsis Noelle, having grown up without much cheer, loves Christmas. A former foster kid, she loves going all out with gifts, decorations and happiness over the Holiday period. Her neighbour Luka seems like a classic Grinch. After she falls from a ladder and Luka comes to her rescue, something sparks.
Setting off a dark and intense affair, can Noelle help Luka overcome his sourness in time for Christmas?
My Thoughts
This is a dark romance with BDSM and some darker sexual acts portrayed. If you are uncomfortable with breath-play, borderline NC and other dark romance themes, I would avoid this book.
I received a free ARC of this book for an honest review via Booksprout. All opinions are my own.

Noelle loves Christmas and takes pride in her lights but this year someone keeps sabotaging them, replacing them yet again is getting frustrating but up the ladder she goes only to fall and land hard in the garden and opening her eyes to her very unsocial and grumpy new neighbour Luca who has come to check that she is ok. From day one this man has gotten under her skin, and she wants to get to know him more. As a thank you she takes him some home-made cookies only for him to rebuff her. She knows that there is something between them and is determined to find out all she can about this mysterious man, but how will he react when she finds something that she shouldn’t and can what they have be saved in the aftermath?
Luca is a man of few words a dark past that haunts him daily, moving after losing the love of his life over a year ago he had no idea that he was moving next door to little miss sunshine and the cheerleader of the Christmas spirit. He has spent time learning her routine and knows what she is going to do before she does. After losing his wife he wasn’t expecting to ever feel what love felt like ever again and has already decided that he is going to claim her as his but after a steamy encounter that ends with her running from him scared, he wonders if he has lost all he ever needed and how will he convince her to give him a second chance?
This was quite a dark story and there may be triggers in this book, some of the steamy encounters get a little rough really without any real warning of what is coming. Such as breath play and a rather violent encounter with a neighbour that I wasn’t expecting. However, I did like the chemistry and interactions between the main characters and their journey from dark pasts. 4.2* read.
Ho, ho, ho! Santa came down the chimney and delivered the perfect XXXMAS read!
Okay, so THIS short little read was EVERYTHING I could've asked for in a short smutty Christmas story. This would've been AMAZING as a full length novel, that I definitely would've purchased as a trophy book. What did I love? Everything? 🤣 Okay, seriously everything. Luka was the perfect textbook definition of the grumpy trope but I definitely think he was more of a broody, alpha a-hole than just grumpy (at first, anyway.) The plot was great. The smut was smutting way more than I had expected or anticipated. I was VERY happy about that. Finally! A smutty Christmas read that wasn't amateur? I REALLY wish this would've been made into a full length novel. Like 280-300 pages or so. I loved that Luka was jealous, OTT, broody, protective, obsessive and stalkerish (okay definitely a stalker) with yet the most broken heart and soul 💔 while also being considerate, gentle and even soft-spoken at times. I really wish this would've ended with an epilogue that led to "one year later" to see if Luka got what he wanted from Noelle.. his baby. Oh, and his breeding kink? Hot AF 🥵🔥🤤. I'm definitely going to rec this to my reading groups! One last thing! I felt this deserved.. I don't want to say a 'better' title but just something different relating to the story more bc I definitely didn't understand the title until I was almost finished with the story! Maybe it was the Christmas elf hat Noelle wore on Christmas Eve? Or the fact that she was Santa's little elf here to bring Christmas joy (or joy in general) back into Luka's life? I'm assuming the latter is where the title came from. My amateur suggestions would be: Unwrap me for Christmas, A Naughty Christmas Miracle, Noelle's Naughty Christmas, A Naughty Christmas Carol. Something along those lines, anyway.
Mmm…this was a tiny yummy bit of Christmas deliciousness... with several unfinished plot holes….
Noelle is crazy about Christmas and goes over the top decorating. Her new neighbor is the epitome of dark and brooding with a huge side of grumpiness. He has been secretly watching Noelle through his window but has decided to stay away from her.
Now here is where the story begins to lose me… there’s just WAY too many unanswered questions. Questions we wouldn’t even have if there hadn’t been a teaser about it. This really wanted to be a complete story but doesn’t follow through.
1. Guy eludes to being a bada$$, possibly a mercenary. I mean he is constantly rambling about how dark and dangerous he is but we never learn more. Even a whole thing about how he was forced into early retirement (not clear on why, etc.)…
2. This guy talks about how he needs a light to his darkness….Just like his WIFE was?!? What the heck- we don’t need to hear how you were married to the love of your life and now FMC is her runner-up replacement… just no!
3. Wifey died recently- within the last year. Yet he jumped into this new relationship with both feet, saying “you’re mine” within minutes of their first kiss. So weird and not super romantic for a guy who misses his wife so much he can’t even talk about her or look at photos of her.
4. This guy wants to knock this FMC up on the very first go. I’m not opposed to this Alpha-Male style claiming but it’s just weird since he was married for years prior and doesn’t seem to have kids (that we know of).
5. The first time is definitely DUB-CON, which I’m also ok with, but he doesn’t let her touch him even once. She touches his hair and that sends him over the edge and immediately ties her up. They’ve only talked a couple brief times prior. This seems a bit sketchy since it requires some trust but he wasn’t going to stop regardless…he just seemed very EXTRA about her NOT EVER TOUCHING HIM, like EVER (it felt like more than just a control thing).
6. He gets so angry he throws things, tosses furniture and grabs FMC in a painful aggressive manner. Why? She picked up and looked at his old wedding photo. No explaination for his freak out, but she literally crouches down, covers her head and says “please don’t hurt me”, like she was truly afraid for herself. And she wants to keep dating this guy?? They just met and this is how he acts… I’d be cautious of how he acts when he becomes truly comfortable around her…
7. A stupid plot with some guy stealing FMC Xmas lights. Why? He’s not a teen or getting anything from it. I think he wanted to sleep with her but I still don’t understand the connection with stealing her lights. Anyway, he almost gets killed over a strand of lights so I’m pretty sure he’s questioning his own motives too.
8. My complaints list is probably longer than the novella itself. I could take it as strictly non-plot erotica but why so many unexplained plot details that are hinted but never followed through??? I hated the dead wife, ex-mercenary, borderline abusive storyline since none of it was explained or followed through.
Santa's Little Elf is a short dark, totally smutty little Christmas novella that will get you feeling cheerful. It's doesn't involve cheating and guarantee a satisfying happily-ever-after. It's brilliantly written with complex characters and great storyline that captures the audience attention from beginning of the story and keeps you hooked and invested until the end. Noel is a Christmas fanatic but above all she loves to spreads joys. But when she meet her new her mysterious neighbor Luka Donovan she noticed that he was grumpy he hates the holiday season. He has even went as far as to cut her Christmas lights down, or that's what she believes. Luka is against the holidays because of some deep rooted trauma that he's still dealing with. She tried to cheer up Luka but realizes that it wasn't the present under tree that he wants to unwrap he wants her. Someone is trying to sabotage her decorations and put her in jeopardy it's up to Luka to protect her. The story was sweet and swoon worthy with a touch of steam, mystery, angst, danger, spice, passion, and love.

Noelle sweet, grew up in foster system without Christmas most times so she grew with a love for the holiday, lights, all out decorations, and living in the right neighborhood because all her neighbors love Christmas just as much as she does except for on her next door neighbor he is the king of all grinches. Luka sexy as all get out grump who wants everyone to leave him alone especially in dealing with the holiday, but his neighbor won’t leave things alone, but he is more upset about his attraction or better said his need to watch her, keep her safe, protecting her. But the moment he allows her to talk him into having dinner one thing leads to another ending of course with a fight the banter is so funny and the two of them are like oil and water at first until he explains the real reason why he is so grumpy or why he doesn’t want to celebrate but will she understand, will she forgive him, will she change his mind about celebrating Christmas, and can he find happiness again?.

Love finds you when you least expect it but when you need it the most.
Santa's Little Elf is a short and steamy Christmas story. It follows Noelle and Luka who are neighbors but while she is outgoing and friendly he is standoffish and cold. Noelle is crazy about anything Christmas. She has the house that is decorated to the hilt, she is always spreading joy and Christmas spirit. All she wants is a beautiful, happy and merry Christmas but when she tries to spread the joy to her new neighbor all she get is a Bah Humbug. Their relationship isn't what it appears he's actually drawn to her but tries to push her away but life pulls them together when someone is out to sabotage her decorations.
Their storyline had a touch of drama, danger and oh so steamy passion.

Noelle love Christmas. She has decorated the outside of her house and the inside is just as crowded with Christmas Cheer. Luka is her neighbor who seems to hate Christmas. Someone has been cutting the power cords to Noelle's holiday light. She thinks that it's her "Grinch" next door. Luka has been watching Noelle and when she has him over for dinner it turns into dessert first, middle and last. They are so hot together. After getting a taste of Noelle he can't stay away from her. They have a misunderstanding that causes him to push her out the door. Love the characters and they dynamics they have. Luka know that Noelle is the only Christmas present he want forever. I love this Christmas Miracle story.

Noelle loves Christmas but she is tired of whoever is screwing with her decorations. She is once again having to replace strings of lights that have been cut overnight. She suspects her new sexy neighbor although she has no proof as he is the only neighbor with no decorations.
Her mysterious neighbor may be gorgeous but his grumpy personality overrides all her sexy feelings and she is determined to spread some Christmas joy no matter how many times he shuts the door in her face.
I loved this book. It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Noelle loves everything about Christmas but the former mafia hitman next door hates the holidays as they are a reminder of all he lost.
This book is action-packed and Noelle is surprised at how far Luka will go to protect her and the secrets of his past.
Thanks to Booksprout and the author for a copy of this book.
I really wanted to know if Noelle was some sort of rebound for Luka, or was he actually interested in her? Also, how did his wife die? That question was also left unanswered, which is frustrating me to no end.
This book was too short for me to give it a full 5-star rating, but that doesn't mean this story wasn't great. It was. It had everything I loved: grumpy/sunshine trope, Christmas, a dangerously dark male lead, and toe-curling smut that leaves me wanting more.
Ratings should really start coming in .5s too because I'd give this book 4.5 stars.
With a name like Noelle it is not hard to believe she lives for Christmas. Her house is blinding with its decorations and has grumpy Luka hating the season even more as the lights twinkle into his windows. That doesn't stop Luka from watching Noelle thru her windows.
Luka has a real reason for hating the season, it reopens wounds. He is trying to deal with it and Noelle has him trying, but he has a short fuse. The scenes between them spark and she glows under his control.
A wonderful Christmas ending with some drama and steam sprinkled in between.

Noelle is crazy about Christmas going all out with the Christmas lights every year. This year has seen the arrival of a new neighbour. A gorgeous single guy called Luka. But he doesn’t seem to get into the Christmas spirit. Someone is sabotaging Noelle’s lights almost nightly. At first she thinks it might be Luka but when things heat up between the two of them, the dominating man makes it clear it’s not him. He even goes as far as to install cctv cameras facing Noelle’s house to help him catch who it is, and punish accordingly. This was a really enjoyable short and spicy Christmas read. Loved it.
Noelle loves Christmas especially the decorations and the time she spends with her neighbors. But somebody sabotages her Christmas lights. Luka is the hot grumpy and downright rude new neighbor and a total Grinch. Sparks fly but Luka is hot and cold and like I said downright rude. But he falls hard and fast for Noelle even though he knows he is bad for her. Steamy, sweet, infuriating (sometimes 😉) ,romantic and with a HEA 😍😍😍 Too much mentioning of his dead wife without context.(personal opinion). Tiny bit had the feeling he wasn't really over, over the love he lost.... Made me a bit sad for Noelle. All in all a good story🥰🥰
Santa’s Little Elf is a short and steamy, Christmas themed story following Noelle and her grumpy next door neighbor, Luka. All Noelle wants is a nicely decorated home for Christmas, but when a mischievous neighbor keeps messing around with her lights, Noelle finds herself on the roof replacing them. When she slips from her ladder and falls to the ground, Luka comes to her rescue, and she finds herself offering him dinner as a thank you. When the dinner is over, and Luka wants more, will Noelle give in to the temptation? And will Noelle be able to convince Luka to enjoy Christmas?
Noelle loves Christmas, but her grumpy neighbor Luka hates it, and it drives him crazy how festive and chipper she is. One night she falls from the ladder while fixing some of her lights, and Luka comes to her rescue. As a thank you, she offers to have him over for dinner, but Luka can't resist Noelle anymore; he has to have her.
Noelle is over the top for Christmas and her neighbor, Luka is the opposite. He is a regular Scrooge.
Luka has been watching Noelle. When she tries to push friendliness on him, it turns into a hot encounter with the neighbor. He is very dominant and once he has her, she is his.
Unfortunately, his issues cause him to push her away even though he can't stay away. Still not sure what he did before retiring and moving next door. Kind of wonder if he was an assassin or a spy.

I enjoyed Noelle and Luka's steamy Christmas grumpy/sunshine tale, though felt there was so much to unpack that it would have been even better as a longer story. The trauma and loss that Luka seems to have experienced has led him to a dark place, and at times I was a little uncomfortable with his dominant treatment of Noelle. Overall, however, I found this an engaging, dark and spicy Christmas read with a sweet ending.

Noel loves Christmas and tries to figure out who is sabotaging her lights decorations. She thinks it could be her hot grump of a neighbor and decides to charm him.
Luka doesn’t like Christmas because of some traumatic experience in the past. When Noel starts coming around he decides to keep her to himself but it can be a bumpy road as they explore the past to move forward. Overall, a good Christmas story with a dark twist.

Super Sweet spice 5 star for me. About Luka trying to basically find love again after losing his wife. He moved to a neighborhood a few months ago and had since had a crush on his neighbor, Noel but when his wife passed he thought there was no way he could find love. Then he caught, Noel as she fell from a latter and from there it gets good and spicy but at times he is a real Grouch and you don't think he can do it but then it goes back to he can.. Good read i will read more of Darcy Roses' Books.
I’m a fan of the darker reads. It’s fiction after all, not real life and not real people. This isn’t a relationship manual, it’s entertainment and Darcy Rose is top notch entertainment in my book.
She gives us enough edge to keep us on our toes and I ALWAYS get my treasured “No he DIDN’T” moments. Santa’s Little Elf didn’t disappoint. Talented writer, great characters, and you can’t complain about the heat level.
Definitely a great seasonal read, that scratches my romance with bite itch. I received a copy of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
