I’m in deeper with the Greeks than ever, and I don’t mean my cat’s recent yogurt binge.
Hermes insists he can stop Persephone from opening a deadly chasm to the underworld. The catch? He needs me to steal her scepter from the shadow present, a realm where I’ve nearly met my maker twice now.
Can I trust the trickster? He’s using my shadow’s son as a vessel, effectively holding him hostage. He’s also stockpiling deities and mythic beings in Midtown. But with dread Persephone gaining strength, spilling fresh horrors into our world, I don’t see a way out, not with a baby girl on the way.
That is, unless I can pull off a herculean feat of savvy and spell-casting to smite both gods. But first, I’ll need to decrypt a hag’s prophecy that’s been haunting my dreams.
One that warns of my demise in an upcoming war....
If you like occult action, spell-crackling suspense, and moments of heart, heroism, and all-out laughter, you’ll love Prof Croft!
Brad Magnarella writes urban fantasy for the same reason most read it – to explore worlds where magic crackles from fingertips, vampires and shifters walk city streets, cats talk (some excessively), and good prevails against all odds. It’s shamelessly fun.
His three main series, Prof Croft, Blue Wolf, and Maddy Deeds, make up the growing Croftverse, with nearly a half-million books sold to date and an Independent Audiobook Award nomination.
Hopelessly nomadic, Brad can be found in a rented room overseas or hiking America's backcountry.

Threads sprinkled throughout the series pull together to start answering some questions about both the gods complicating his life and Croft himself. Nothing is exactly what or who they seem to be as Croft rushes to save his friends, family and the whole world. In the end more thread emerge to of course take us into what it likely to be another grand adventure and these books continue to be thrilling and engaging reads.
Everson Croft’s own life is on the line, but he has an expecting wife and a shadow-realm son bound to Hermes, a God that might be more trickster than hero. The pacing of the eleventh book in the Prof Croft series had me on the edge of my proverbial seat. I read this while helping my sick wife, who is awaiting a biopsy in a few days, and it isn’t easy to focus on anything but going over symptoms, illnesses, and treatments. Thankfully, Brad Magnarella’s 11th installment of Croft’s adventures certainly helped. With the aid of a loyal goblin buddy and a scattered brained mage that I imagine as Ozzy Osborne, Croft portals all over the world and even into the shadow world, all to save his shadow-son, himself, fulfilling his responsibilities to his family, and maybe saving the world along the way. I’d highly recommend this series to fans of contemporary supernatural/fantasy stories in the style of the Dresden Files. Everson Croft is likable and it’s easy to slip into his world and share in his adventures.
Well i’ve read all the other Prof Croft books and im going to try to write this without spoilers.
I always enjoy reading about Everson an co and all of their adventures I started reading this full of a horrible cold and icy temperatures outside and it was just the pick me up I needed! We are seeing Everson grow so much into a more powerful wizard, a dad, a friend and Partner and I am here for it.
This time around Everson is juggling a baby on the way, his shadow son and even his own life throw in some Greek Mythology and we are in for a rollercoaster ride. Bree Yark and Mae are also on form as usual oh how i love Mae and her sassiness my only complaints are we need more Tabitha and now I need to wait for the next book I can’t wait to see what happens next would definitely recommend everyone reads these books!
Another worthy installment in a series that I simply cannot get enough of. Magnarella brings formidable light into the world as he spins his tales of his extremely lovable MC doing the same thing. In my extremely bookwormish opinion, the Prof Croft series is going stronger and only getting better. I have already pre-ordered the next book in the Kindle edition, and I am impatiently waiting to do the same with the Audible version, read by the amazingly talented James Patrick Cronin, who is a narrator of unmatched skill and breathes life into everything he lends his voice to. I listen as I read along in the Kindle app. Do yourself a favor if you don't already and give it a try. Thank you again, Mr. Magnarella and Mr. Cronin!
I have read the entire series and I feel like Everson gets his act together in Godly Wars. I think he has realized how important it is for him to stop trying to control the universe and how to let go and trust his magic. Of all the books so far, I enjoyed Godly Wars the most. The plot, the pacing and the reveals are so good and so satisfying. All of our favorite characters and cohorts are on board for the ride and they do not disappoint. Tabitha is her grouchy self. Bree-Yark and Sweet Mae are all in for the fight as well. I think in the book Everson makes another big step in his wizard journey which sets him up for bigger and better things. I can't wait to see what he does next and how his changing family situation will affect his work.
This episode of Croft's adventures was so fun to read. It sucked me in during the first chapter and never let go. Tabitha, Bree-yark, Mae, Claudius, Alec, and Vega all keep the story rolling and add so much depth to Everson's character and world. Hermes and Persephone... wow. The twists and turns their parts of the story take, especially, kept me turning the pages until the very end. I want to see more of a newly introduced character! I love when Brad introduces new characters to the story. They may be allies and lead to spin-offs, like the Blue Wolf, or extras, like Weston and Tabitha, or they could lead to new story arcs, like Hermes. I'm sad, happy, and excited with the story ending. I can't wait to see what comes next.
While the Professor Croft UF series is one of my favorites, I struggled to maintain interest in this latest volume. Possibly too much Hermes/Persephone/old gods and Shadow Realm which just didn't hold my attention. While things did pick up for me about 2/3 of the way through, it just just didn't feel like the Croft adventures that made them a favorite of mine. I'm definitely glad to see the end of this story arc.
The events in the shadow world are coming to a climax. Everson is working with Hermes to free Persephone from her ties to Cronos and save his shadow son. But his allies are Olympus's benchwarmers and the mercurial god himself, who is anything but reliable and trustworthy. An excellent wrap for this particular storyline taking Croft to Greece, Sicily and back and forth between this world and the shadow version
Thrilling adventure!! Heart stopping at times, heart racing at others. All of my favorite characters are back to help Prof. Croft fight the never ending war between good and evil and save the world. OOOOOH the parts with Tabitha are even better in this book. Prof. Croft is once again jumping between two worlds to put things right with the universe.
I really liked this addition. I hope that Everson and Alec get to continue working on their relationship. I like the way that everything with Hermes and Persephone ended. I didn’t see the twist coming. I’m also glad that the baby was born. I think she will bring some added complications to the next books. Actions will probably have to be considered more carefully.

Another wonderful journey into Everson’s magical world, only this time it includes the shadow realm and Olympic God’s. Along the way, his relationship w/Alec expands and new powers through his bloodline are discovered. The old & new are melded perfectly. Not to be missed!
Another great read from the Bookshelf of the Professor Croft series. It’s interesting to see how this series is come about up to this point where the main character can actually have a life and doesn’t turn into one where the relationship gets in the way of a Fantastic read.
Received a ARC copy from the Author just finished reading it and it was just great! I laughed like a Hyiena when Mae started Shaming the Zombies into stopping their attack on Croft and the Supe team that was probably the funniest scene in the entire book 😀

This was as ever, totally edge of your seat ride through the Prof Croft universe. Bree-Yark with his no nonsense attitude and Tabby with her snarks was everything you've come to expect with a tonne of Greek God's thrown in. My only complaint is now I have to wait for more Prof Croft
Brad continues his fine work. This novel continues the storyline fron the previous book but adds new and interesting characters and new supernatural situations he must overcome. Great job.
The book is filled with magic, adventure, drama and mystery. You are never quite sure who is good, who is bad and which direction we are heading. It all comes together in one terrific action packed ending. Ready read.
Brad Magnarella needs to stop writing fantastic action, adventure and magic tales. This book is great but start at the first one before you read whether Everson lives or …
Everton found an important fact that he has angel blood running through his veins. He freed Alec from Hermes and can I see Alec once a year in May. Croft and Ricki had a baby girl Abi. Croft is head over heals in love with his baby girl.
When I found out that the new Professor Croft adventure was out, I just had to reread the whole series. I loved it just as much this time. Looking forward to the next book.
The battle has come and it's epic... The author puts us though multiple levels of suspense, from God's to Demigods and all layers of good & evil. Unexpected changes, as things previously unknown are revealed, in short, the story will keep you up.
“Ricki needs her rest,” I said, referring to my very pregnant wife, “and you weren’t helping.” “I was just trying to be conversational.” “Asking if she’s having triplets, when you already know the answer, is poor conversation.
This is well worth the time to read. It continues Ever son's journey into magic and arriving at a new one, named Abigail. The thought of Everson Croft with a kid is insane. Oh, there was the standoff against Typhon, too that was hair raising. A good read.
Prof Crofton had grown and changed so much since book 1. It's been a journey and a lot of fun! This book was a great addition to the series with a lot of things going on! Can't wait for the next one!!
