This is book three of the My Bilionaire series and the main characters are billionaire Michael Wallace and at the start of the story, his PA Jenna. They had been having an affair for months and she was his stress relief mechanism whenever a meeting or work got too much and he was about to blow. Only on the day she wanted to give him some news, that might have changed their dynamic forever, he used her and then fired her and dumped her, all in one go! There was no way she was going to tell him her news now, as he would just think she was after his money and trying to trap him! Five years later she is working as the PA to another billionaire, Evan Jones, who has a totally different way of working and puts more into Jenna’s hands, as he takes time out for his family. Evan is trying to start a secret merger with another company and he wants Jenna to lead it for him, but the merger is with one of Michael’s companies and when she sees him in the office, she point blank refuses to work with him. She has spent the last five years trying to ensure her work is everything and no one can tell her she isn’t up to the job ever again, like he did so bluntly, and she has a daily reminder of him, in their son, Damon who is now four. She relies heavily on her mother to look after him as she works exceedingly long hours, but her mother is getting older and won’t be around forever.
She thought she hated him and would never want him again, but being up close and personal, soon reminds her of how hot sex was between them and that her body will betray her everytime! Her mother talks some sense into her, knowing that this merger and the stock options she will earn, would leave her never having to work again, so childcare would no longer be a problem and she could spend more time with her son as well. A much better work life balance! She calls Evan back up and agrees to represent their business in the merger, with her small team, but Michael straight away tries to refuse to deal with a secretary, when this merger is worth so much to both of their companies. He is still the rude and arrogant boss he was back then and has three men on his team, who all clearly fear him and are there only as yes men and act like puppets. When they realise someone is out to sabotage the merger and possibly their companies, he finally realises how smart Jenna actually is and how good she is at her job, when she handles the first crisis of many. Michael tries to blame the leak on her team, when in fact the second issue, quickly points the blame back at his team. Unfortunately, Jenna can’t resist Michael when it comes to sex, yet again, and their affair resumes, but with something possibly a little bit different from his side. But not in in the business arena, There he still wants to be in complete control and doesn’t trust anyone to do a job as well as himself. He expects his employees to fear him and respect him. Not the way Jenna thinks you get the best out of those who work for you!
When a medical incident throws a spanner into the works and leaves Jenna struggling to cope, Michael finally gets to meet Damon, but still doesn’t have a clue that he is his father. Damon wants a daddy and innocently asks Michael if he would like to be his daddy, whilst Jenna is still in the meeting room with the others. Will she ever find he has changed enough, to believe he would actually make a good father and that the two of them could actually have a real relationship together? He seems great with Damon, but his business antics still seem to be pretty much the same. He would rather blame Jenna and her team for any faults with the merger, than even think it could be his team’s fault. There may be signs that he is somewhat different in their sexual relationship and the way he looks at her sometimes, but business is business to him still and all personal issues are supposed to be left at the door! Jenna may feel like quitting rather than put up with some of his cruellest remarks again, waiting to see if he will dump her again and insist Evan fires her. But she is made of sterner stuff now and has learnt a lot working with Evan. She will set a trap for the mole who is looking to destroy the merger and make sure that Michael has a front row seat for the results. Both Jenna and Michael have changed over the years, one from necessity, and the other slowly but surely, but she can’t change who he is at the core. Whether she can settle for any less is the question! This one just goes to show that chemistry can’t be forgotten and the mind will just have to adjust and follow along. They say don’t judge a book by its cover….yeah, yeah, yeah well whomever they were should have read the title because that is exactly what you get. Jenna sweet works for a boss that basically cruel, a workaholic, expects everyone to have his same energy work ethic, and five years ago she worked for such a boss after sex he told her she was incompetent and fired. Michael sexy as all get out billionaire who takes no prisoners along the way he has fired several people never thinking about where they would land but what he did to Jenna was just plain unforgivable. But she walked away with the best part of the man who broke her heart and made her question her work abilities her four year old son who is the love her life. The second time around for the two of them didn’t start out much better but Michael is seeing he let the wrong person go, he hurt her as a lover and he wants her back all before realizing he gave her the best part of himself in the form of his son with all the hurt he has caused being his usual arrogant self will she forgive him, will she give him a second chance, will she allow him around her son since she was forced to raise him alone considering he hasn’t been much of a man to her or anyone for that matter, will she make him beg for forgiveness (hopefully yes) and can this second chance fate has given them lead them to happiness?.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was about a grumpy overly opinionated billionaire who fired his PA when in the mist of an affair. I felt Jenna was a strong female character. She was a master of her job and had the support and backing of another successful billionaire. She kicked a$$. Michael who dumped Jenna was an unreasonable grumpy opinionated thought he was right all the time type of guy.

She runs into him five years later and he does not recognize her. Jenna is really bummed out. She has her four year old son Damon and her mother as her emotional support system. Her mom is an amazing woman. She is wise and knows her daughter and how to talk sense to her in a way Jenna can understand.

When Jenna realizes she must work with Michael in order to end up with her career where she wants. They work on a merger worth billions and they clash. Michael is treating Jenna as if she is a subordinate and not an equal. Big mistake. Despite the attraction that still exists between them it brings complications.

For added interest there is a bonus chapter that goes with the book. It is wonderful to see how Jenna and Michael are doing in the future. An excellent ending.

A wonderful story of second chances and a secret baby.

He's Ruthless

This is my first novel by this new author to me & I was totally absorbed into this story, reading it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down as when I finished a chapter, I had to read the next chapter to see what was going to happen with the twists, the suspense & of course, the rekindling times these two go through.

The love-hate connection that Jenna & Michael is intense, whether it be in the office or at his penthouse. He can be hot or cold, ruthless & mean towards her, as well as other employees working for him. Just when I thought he'd soften up & the thick walls he's built up around his heart are torn down, he turns around to being the true a$$ he is. Jenna is tough as nails & won't tolerate any garbage from him but his cruel words sure hurts internally. Surprised at how he took the surprise baby news.

One thing is for sure - I will most definitely be seeking out Laura Olsen's novels & continue to read her creations. She has me hooked!

This is Jenna and Michael's story and it is one that will grab your attention right at the beginning. It's part of the Billionaire Series but can be read as a standalone. Michael was not a very likable character and he was horrible in the way the talked to Jenna. He was her boss and he fired her not realizing that she was pregnant with his child. Fate brings them back together five years later when she is representing her present boss on a merger. The chemistry is still there but he's still a grump. What happens when he finds out about his son? Do they establish another relationship? The book was a a good book but Michael was cruel to her so the name is appropriate. Excellent romance, all in tension
At first, I was a little worried that this would be a another story where the boss discovers after years that he has a child, but here, the heroine Jenna, completely turns the egocentric careerist that is Mickael. He does not know what is falling on him because he constantly underestimates her.
The story has excellent feuds, a background of classy feminist strength, in the face of the disdain of a quite disrespectful alpha at times. At the same time, the tension linked to the attacks on their project is just as strong, reviving the story and their relationship.
The story is hot, intense, full of twists and without downtime.

Jenna and Michael have a history that ended badly. Now years later they run into each other at her current job. Her boss wants her to run lead on a team on his side of the deal and work with Michael and his team. Sparks fly between them and its not long before things heat up. Someone leaks information on the merger of the companies and neither wants to admit that it could be someone on their team. Will they figure out the truth before its too late? Will Michael learn the secret that Jenna has?

This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Very interesting book. Michael and Jenna parted ways under very bad circumstances, at least for Jenna. Reunited 5 years later under less than ideal circumstances, the reader could cut the tension with a knife. Michael seemed to have no redeeming qualities other than his bedroom prowess. Every time Jenna seemed to think they were making progress, Michael blindsided her with hurtful words. I simply did not like his character. Jenna turned out to be the strong, witty counterpart needed to balance this book. I give the author 4 stars for plot and writing style. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

I really loved this book. it was very well written. The characters were great, I loved It makes you hooked from the start and this book is full of fire and romance. I loved the beginning, it's the start of a book that i was not expecting and it was brilliant. Michael was a rude man and very short sighted, now Jenna what a character, after her set back at the beginning of this book. I loved how she picked herself up and works her way up again, especially now she is a single Mum. I loved how Jenna and Michael reconnect, and that she stands up for herself this time round. Loved this book. You need to read this book, one not to be missed. Highly recommend.

In the book “My Cruel Billionaire “ Jenna was having an affair with Michael but they broke up. Jenna had Michael’s baby without his knowledge. Five years later she’s the team leader working on the merger between Michael and hers boss’s company.
Michael is indeed a cruel man. He is sometimes so mean and nasty it is hard to believe that she still loves him and wants to have a relationship with him. Many times she was able to stand up to him and go toe to toe with him. However, the few times he seemed loving and kind didn’t make up for the times he was cruel and mean.
This a quick easy read book. I enjoyed the story. I didn’t enjoy how cruel he was and how the heroine kept engaging and being intimate with him. This book contained many sexy, steamy moments.

Michael is a dominant individual who drives his business with an iron fist. He has a reputation for firing an individual if they don't live up to his expectations which is what happened to Jenna in spite of the fact, he was in a sordid relationship with her. Five years later they reconnect when she is pulled in by her employer to represent him on a merger. Will the past be swept aside for them to work together, and will she be able to keep her secret from Michael about the gift he left her with after firing her? This story drew me in and had me glued to the pages from start to finish!

This story is about Jenna and Michael. He’s a horror. She used to be his secretary until he fired her. Roman was miserable and arrogant but then they slept together. Now time moves forward and things have changed, Jenna’s in charge. Their chemistry is good when they aren’t working. He is still jerk especially to her even though she’s in charge, not him. The way he talks to her - hard to take. When he finds out that her son, Damon is his he does a complete spin. For me, this is a 3.5 read.

Jenna knew having an affair with your boss was a bad idea, but when Michael ended their relationship and her job she swore she would never end up in that position again. Now five years later she must work with him, on equal footing. She knows the man behind the bravado, but can she risk her heart again and what will she do about the secret she has kept from him. Their chemistry is off the charts as is their dynamic while working. Their issue is what happens after hours! Great read! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.

Michael Wallace while in an affair with his PA just as she was about to tell him she was pregnant he fired her. Then she went to work for Evan Jones and proceeded to do a good job. So when Evan’s firm and Michael’s were joining on a project Evan put Jenna in charge of his team but Michael was determined to lead his. He said Jenna was a jumped up secretary. Five years ago, Jenna was Michael's personal assistant which he was sleeping with when he suddenly fires and dumps her same day just before she was going to share some news with him. Now she works for someone else and they must work together on a merger. It was a good story, it was missing the moment when he realizes that he loves her. I saw the growth and his character changing but I didn't think he was there yet. Jenna character was really good. I really enjoyed it.

I quite enjoyed this book though I have to admit it took me a bit to warm up to Michael as he really did seem cruel. I did adore Jenna and Damon however, and loved how sweet they were. This romance did have lots of ups and downs, and we did see Michael become a much nicer and considerate person at the end. All in all, this was quite an entertaining read.

Jenna was weirdly good? At her job? And that's questioned because she initially gets fired because she's supposedly bad at her job. But it's also kind of implied that Michael fired her because he was done with their relationship, so was she actually bad, or was he just being incredibly mean? And Michael is truly an ass and at no point do I think he redeems himself. And he essentially just turns into a bored SAHD? Odd ending for such a supposedly ruthless character.

This was an okay read. The plot was mediocre in my opinion. Michael was a big jerk and didn’t deserve Jenna’s forgiveness. I thought she was weak. She should have made Michael work harder to get her back. I thought the characters needed more development and depth.

Olsen plays no games starting off this one with some serious spice. But she adds in an interesting storyline with a strong female lead making it the complete package. Jenna was bold and not afraid to go after what she wanted. Michael was not afraid to give it right back. Sparks fly! Spice was hot! And the romance was tangible. Another classic Olsen winner!.

The author did a great job of making us dislike Michael. Jenna was fantastic in a "I am woman, Hear me Roar" kind of way. I zipped through reading this because I could wait to see how these two get to their HEA. Very entertaining read....Girl Power!.

This was a great story. Wonderfully written. The characters are great and the storyline is different but good. I enjoyed the suspense. The chemistry between the main characters is off the charts hot. Look forward to reading more from the author. Definitely recommend reading this.

This story is interesting enough, but I just can’t get over my dislike for the main character Michael. He is just rude and insensitive, a complete arsehole. And Jenna needs to stand up to his tirades when he is showing her nothing but disrespect.

ridiculous story.

Ok this is so badly written. Michael is an asshole. Jenna is an idiot. And she tells him he has a son to them getting engaged in 3 pages. Waaaaaaaay too much about the business and stuff… just a bizarre read.
