Mac looks nothing like other omegas. He is big, thick, and not delicate. Mac hates it because he doesn’t fit in anywhere. Worse of all, other omegas hate him. They bully him and want nothing to do with him. Not that Mac wants anything to do with them. Mac wants only two things – a job and to spend his heat with an alpha – just once.
The latter is a sore spot; no matter how hard he tries he can never be what an alpha wants. After an embarrassing night with a beta, his brother promises to find him an alpha to share his heats. Mac agrees thinking his brother wouldn’t succeed, but he does. And the alpha he finds is none other than Deltta Kohle – the former Alpha King of the damn planet. His brother keeps this tidbit of information to himself until it’s too late – the alpha is already in heat. Mac has no choice but to meet him, even though he knows he might not like him. On meeting him, Mac is not sure he can go through with it. But Deltta says something he never thought he'd hear an alpha say …
“For my entire heat you’ll be mine. I don’t mean like mine because you’re here…no…you’ll be mine. You’ll belong to me body and soul. And I need you to give yourself to me. Do you think you can handle that?”
Yes, that’s all Mac can think.
Deltta
After the incident five years ago, Deltta Kohle has changed. He’s not the same alpha he used to be. They stripped him of his title as alpha king, leaving nothing but a moody, depressed shell of himself. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s a little extra – his animal side is prominent than ever before, and it comes out during sex. Deltta can’t bring himself to be with an omega. Sedatives are the only things that make his heats bearable. His brother thinks its unhealthy. As long as he doesn’t scare some poor omega half to death, Deltta doesn’t care. He’ll keep sedating himself. But a trip to his doctor brings his greatest nightmare to life - the sedatives have stopped working and he needs to find an omega… The omega his brother finds is nothing Deltta expected. He’s not delicate like the omegas he’d been with. Deltta doesn’t hold back.
Their night together turns into so much more as Deltta accidentally leaves a claiming mark on Mac. Mac has wanted an alpha of his own for a long time. But can he believe Deltta’s feelings for him are real when the alpha asks to bond with him? No… Mac can't. He’s not what alphas want. Deltta fights to reclaim his position as Alpha King. But his greatest fight has only began as Mac rejects him at every turn. Will he be able to convince his omega he’s perfect for him in every way or pretend he never claimed him as he asked him to?
Please note: Thick Omega is set on an imaginary planet that is similar to modern day earth, with a bit of fantasy elements. The novel contains Omegaverse themes: Knotting, True Mates, Claiming Marks, MPreg and fated love.
aw this had so much potential but it was very mid and i skimmed towards the end bc i was ready to get it over with…..i liked the concept tho……the whole miscommunication and conflict to get the mains to stay apart even tho they both wanted to be with each other was dragged out way too much and quickly ceased making sense. all the other plot shit going on with jamue and their business and the alpha king trying to nail the guy who poisoned him….boring tbh and haphazardly done…..nothing is getting shown, everything is getting told to u….the writing is just sloppy and rushed
Second... I love omegas that are ... shall we say... too big for their own good. Idk why but the fliffy twinks that typically embody omega-ness don't really do it for me, but the big boys? Love it, and love when one finds a mate that sees the diamond in the rough, so to speak.
In this case, the omega was a big boy... and the alpha, whooo he was definitely big enough to give him a wild ride.
I loved almost everything about this, even the sidekick omega friend - he was actually an interesting character and looking forward to his story - BUT - Butbutbutbut... the great misunderstandings... ugh they annoy me so much. When characters don't talk and don't get it sorted out in a reasonable amount of time (this just squeaked under the wire as "acceptable" for me...) it makes me real irritated. Just as I cant stand it in real life, I don't want to have to deal with it in my fiction.
Give me a straight talker that doesn't skip leg day and we're golden.
So.
Close call there... but overall, really liked this one... and I liked the world and characters enough that I'll likely check out the first in the series soon.
What better review is there to kick off Pride month than a M/M Sci-Fi Omegaverse? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Listen, I am slowly but surely advancing in the Omegaverse, and this is officially the first full M/M book I've read. I read it in a few hours (I stayed up way too late) and kinda liked it. There characters were adorable and dare say wholesome. The story is a new & fresh take on Omegaverse (or at least from what I've read thus far), and the minimal world building was effective.
Now, I have questions. Where are the women? It would be one thing if women weren't a thing entirely BUT we are introduced to a female Alpha and a mother of the MC is mentioned. So...why does it feel like women are RARE and can we know why??? Asking for a friend.
Another thing, the government conspiracy assassination thing is all fine and dandy but the spirits making storyline felt so unnecessary. It gave 'here's a side quest that will eat up 90% of your playtime' vibes.
Overall, I say give it a read if you're into cute loveable Alpha M/M Omegaverse :)
DNF but I read 94% and just couldn’t stick it out. I loved Delta and Mac but they had no real emotional connection to eachother in the book. All their stories are with other people and their real problems in their lives weren’t even discussed with one another which I find odd. I think this could of been an excellent book if revamped.
Oh my goodness. Like for real, I really don’t think you guys know how hard it is to find a good MLM with a physically toppy bottom. I LOVE PHYSICALLY TOPPY BOTTOMS. Oh my god, if anyone knows more like this, please send recommendations my way. It would be highly appreciated.
Anyways, in context of the actual plot, I absolutely love their dynamic. You know I can’t resist a possessive man, so I am just all for it. Even better that it’s omegaverse. Did I just discover another great author?? Can’t wait to read more!!!
Starts off fairly strong - we meet Mac, an omega that looks like an alpha. We don’t have much context (possibly in prior book?) but he’s been forced to think differently and fend for himself, and we see some character development. But as soon as Deltta and Mac meet it becomes quite boring, beyond some steamy sex. Deltta’s storyline has literally zero to do with Mac and not much relevance, not to mention pretty boring, and Mac’s liquor storyline is pushed forward by Jamus. Mac becomes a fairly passive player in his life, his romance, his friendships etc. I guess manifesting inwardly as an omega.. it could have been an interesting interaction of societal expectations vs learned adaptation, but we mainly have Mac’s self consciousness (and Deltta’s strange lack of understanding ) about his body and appearance as point of conflict.
There was no real connection between the two main characters. They each had more scenes with other people than each other. They both had really interesting back stories and aspirations that could have been weaved into their relationship to show us them supporting one another and falling in love. Instead we got maybe 4/5 scenes of them together and 50% of those scenes were sex where they didn’t talk. By the end of the book I felt like the characters didn’t know anything about each other but yet had fallen in love somehow? Also the claiming bond fiasco wasn’t explained. In other books we get an explanation into what they are and how they work but here it just felt pointless. Even at the end when the bond bite could have come in hand when D went to the hospital the author didn’t use it, they dissolved the bond and somehow that was proof enough of Ds love? You know what else could have shown his love? A few conversations and scenes where they talked. In the end I was honestly hoping the main character ended up with his best friend, that was a better developed relationship.
In conclusion, there was a lot of great opportunities here and the story line and world building could have been very good but the author felt lazy like they threw together the story but never reread it to make sure it was cohesive and well developed
Wow I really like this book. And the series as a whole, cause yesss we see some of our fave characters from book 1 returning and new other interesting side characters also pop up! I was really happy that Thick Omega actually had a plot woven I go it next to “I don’t look like an omega will I still find my HEA alpha?” To be honest it kinda gave me Alessandra Hazard’d unnatural vibes, yes it’s different but if you liked those books you’ll probably also enjoy these!
I also liked that it had some suspense! Kind of a who did it - I reaaaaally suspected one of my fave characters for a while haha so good job there I guess!
I also liked that it wasn’t an easy kiss and make up ending, the author gave the couple some struggles and imo the execution was satisfactory and also gave us a HEA without being annoyed cause the mc “fave in” 😌
Defo recommend and I cannot wait for the next book! Who will be the main star couple in that one?? I cannot wait to find out!
This was a cute and relatively short read. I really enjoyed the twist on Mac not being the stereotypical omega. I will say this story/writing is quite shallow but I didn’t really mind it as I wasn’t looking for anything heavy to read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 🌶🌶 MM Omegaverse
Started off good but went downhill fast. Too much going on. Too many storylines. The relationship drama between the alpha and Omega was just drawn out too much and could have been resolved earlier. It definitely took away from their connection and by the end I was bored. Shame really.
I somehow didn’t realize this was a paranormal story before I started reading it. I didn’t care for parts of this, but overall it was an interesting story.
This was a nice new world. I love the shifter vibe that rides in the back of everything. I love that even if you mated you still have to work for the relationship. I love the world build and the political intrigue and meeting all of the players. I loved especially that this was a different type of Omega. One that wasn’t thinking and worked to take care of himself and others. I did love the hurt comfort in the story the I wish I didn’t drag out the indecision so long. It was kind of making me mad one of the MCs because of this. The writing was good, the smexy was hawt. It had everything I love about this world. The part that Didn’t work was just how long it took for the MC to get over his insecurities and the ending was rushed and kind of trash. I’m pretty sure that’s not how you end a story even if it’s going to be a cliffhanger story. I can’t wait to read the next book but I hope that the author takes feedback and fixes the things that went wrong.
I had fallen into a bit of a reading rut but boy, did this story break a weeks-long string of DNF books. I couldn’t put this down; it had amazing world-building, beautifully drawn main and side characters, political intrigue, and triumph. I adored omega!Mac, the talented spirit mixer who sees the beauty in others but not himself, and Deltta, the former alpha king who had to step down five years ago for reasons that eventually throws Mac into his orbit. Jamue (Mac’s omega friend/BrOTP with a backstory of his own) and Faria, a beta leisure place owner who gives Mac his big break, are lovely support characters who allow Mac to find individual worth, even as he longs for acceptance and love.
There is reference to shifters in this world, although it’s apparently repressed in most, with the exception of Deltta (for reasons. It also allows him to straddle the line of possessive!alpha and considerate!mate perfectly). I read this book first and would love to see if it’s explored further in other books in this series. I’m a fan of Mae’s writing and will absolutely be back for more.
I came for Mac and Deltta, and I will be staying for Jamue and Hym.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the plotlines. Mac and Deltta were made for each other even if it took Mac a little longer to sign on to the relationship and the validity of Deltta's feelings for him.
I am glad that Deltta's alpha king storyline, with its espionage, kind of stayed separate from Mac's storyline, meaning Mac wasn't drawn in and hurt by what was going on with Deltta.
Their ending (before the epilogue) was cute.
I did not read the first book in the series, which dealt with Mac's brother. However, I don't think it was integral to read to understand this book, and some background was given based on the first book, so I didn't have any questions not answered by this book.
I will be reading the third book in the series, though, because it dealt with Jamue and Hym, who both played key side character roles in this book.
This is the kind of Omega story I read regularly in the past. I love stories where there is so much that an Omega has to overcome. The new to me author Hope Mae author wrote a very entertaining story that pulled me in immediately. In the future Omegas are considered second class citizens and expected to live in communal housing monitored by Alphas and Betas. Hoping for the chance to work in an Alpha's house and hopefully pair up with the Alpha. But these Omegas were lithe, handsome, and very appealing to Alphas. No one thought the unusually large and muscular Omega was often mistaken for a Beta or Alpha. This big Omega lived a miserable life and knew there was no one willing to become bonded and mated to him. So he made a plan, find a job, and support himself. This doesn't seem to be the beginning of a HEA, but the author was able to take this premise and create a very entertaining story.
I couldn’t wait to read Deltta’s story after I finished Djohn’s. Let me tell you… I was not even a little bit disappointed.
Deltta was the Alpha King until a scandal five years ago changed everything for him and for all omegas.
Mac isn’t like other omegas, he’s built more like an alpha. Despite his outward appearance, he’s very much an omega.
Neither Deltta nor Mac ever think they’ll find that perfect someone who can love them as they are. An out of control heat brings the two together and I loved every second of their story. I felt horrible that Mac’s self esteem wouldn’t allow him to believe that he could indeed be loved just as he is.
Things are not entirely as they seem in the greater world. Some excellent world building happens as old crimes are brought to light and justice is served to those who deserve it.
If you like your alphas wild and possessive and your omegas unconventional, then you should read Deltta and Mac’s story.
I like the story better than book 1. It felt like there was more emotional depth between Mac and Deltta. But the world building still felt sparse and confusing . Too many aspects that just didn’t gel. ie; omegas must remain in commune houses, unless they are bonded. But Mac and his partner start a business and go running around everywhere without an alpha, and or alpha permission.. But I did like the story arc on this book, and there were more bits of excitement . I admit, I could’ve done without Mac’s Constant “there’s no way you can like me “, I am not worthy. . Yes, Star deducted for the “giant, misunderstanding trope “
The main conflict between the MCs is... actually nothing. They fall in love. But for some reason Mac, the omega, refuses to bond with Delta the alpha. Mac talks to a doctor about breaking the mate bond, without talking to Delta. And that's only half way through the book. Mac spends the rest of the book working in a craft brewery, avoiding the alpha. I guess it is the Big Misunderstanding.
I just didn't enjoy reading it. Each character gets their own side plot, Mac and the brewery, Delta and his political rivals. They have very little story together. Big Misunderstanding plus a whole lot of Separation.
Mae is a good story teller. They also have a descent skill with world-building and character development. Individually, any of those can be difficult crafts for an author to develop, much less all three. However, the numerous grammatical and spelling errors really detract from the experience of reading their work. They owe it to themselves to get a good editor to elevate the technical aspect of their work to match the quality of their creative skill.
Eh~ it was cute. Rounded up to 3 ⭐️ Good writing style, it was a fun read. But Mac got me so heated with his insecurities. Like it went from a fast burn to a slow burn.
I started book 2 first thinking these were standalone, I’d recommend reading book 1 as there was a huge sub plot from the previous book that leaks over. Not too bad but it’s a good chunk of the book. Oops
But this was overall cute and non traditional omega was refreshing.
Mpreg doesn’t happen until the VERY END and a glimpse and it’s gone ~
This is my first book of this series, so I think I miss something. Mac is that kind of person that don't know how incredible is and he feels inferior to other people. However, he does't wait to things happen, when he sees an opportunity, he grab them. But what piss me off was even after Deltta confess his love, he continued to think he didn't fit in with the Alpha King. THAT GUY SAID HE LOVES YOU AND WANT YOU TWICE!
I loved how Deltta fell in love so mad. None of Mac flaws were flaws are important, he was perfect for him. Deltta just wanted someone that accept him as he is.

Read it all in one go. Loved the characters. The author does a great job of connecting the reader to the characters and letting you see and feel through their eyes. Great story of Mac making his first friend, the plight of the Omega's, and Mac's job all fully told in addition to the romance. The only detraction was the need for a good editor. Sweet, strong, thoroughly enjoyed.
I feel like this series could have been better fleshed out. This book needs editing as well. It suffers with the same spelling & grammar issues and incorrect use of words as the first book.
I also found issues with the actual composition of the paragraphs as well, it's a mess really and it's a pity because the story and world could be one to remember. It's just written so badly.
I liked this story much better than the first. It was a bit more insta lust/love but at least the story focused only on Mac and Deltta and didn't have any exes/third party. There was also more development in their relationship.
Deltta was suprisingly a great alpha and the relationship woos was more due to Mac's insecurities, which was bit tiresome. I thought getting rid of the claiming mark was a bit stupid especially since they decided to bond so quickly afterwards.
Fierce and gripping! This fated mates pushes and pulls you in every direction while lighting your heart on fire! I mean, who doesn't love a fish out of water...um...an omega out of...you know what I mean!😋 Strength and beauty. This omegaverse is creative and fully realised! The MC's are sexy and complex. I highly recommend reading this remarkable story!😘
