Classic Autobiography of John D. Rockefeller Random Reminiscences of Men and Events

Rate this book
"Random Reminiscences Of Men And Events" gives interesting insights into the life of the richest person in modern history. - Probably in the life of every one there comes a time when he is inclined to go over again the events, great and small, which have made up the incidents of his work and pleasure, and I am tempted to become a garrulous old man, and tell some stories of men and things which have happened in an active life. In some measure I have been associated with the most interesting people our country has produced, especially in business men who have helped largely to build up the commerce of the United States, and who have made known its products all over the world. These incidents which come to my mind to speak of seemed vitally important to me when they happened, and they still stand out distinctly in my memory.

It's a good insides of how down to earn is John D Rockefeller, the most interesting thing I learned about him. He doesn't remember everybody however he got a small note book to chart down the small conversations he had with other people. It is a good way to have an opening conversation in the future and show caring. Also, his business pov is very interesting, how he wins competitions!

Wow I can’t believe theres only a couple of reviews. This is an olympic-level of insight to internalize, if you can. Have also read Chernow’s Titan and Ida Tarbell’s History of Standard Oil as well as his 38 Letters to His Son. The confessions on self-talk of this “winner” (his words) are something to grab-on to.

A bit more interesting than Carnegie's, but more drab in style. Gives a bit of insight into his philosophy but still in a very distant, staid manner, such that you really learn nothing about him other than he likes architecture and gardening.
