I liked the plot. I didn't like the way it was written.

The continual view point switches were jarring. Third person to first person and back again every few pages.

Two characters that appeared half way through and were rather important to the way the story ended, the The aunt and uncle 'gangstas', fell completely flat.

One of the main characters, their mark, was just plain weird.

Much of the dialog felt wrong, more like information dump than conversation.

It was only due to the fact that the book was short and I was having a lazy afternoon that I saw it through to the end. Very disappointed, as this story could have been really good. There was just too many things about the narrative that annoyed me.
