Tucked neatly in the mountains of North Carolina, Lointaine is the kind of small town you only see in the movies. The nearby forests are the perfect place for Loren to find flora and fauna for the illustrations needed to complete her master's degree. As a bonus, she can reconnect with a grandmother she hasn't seen in over two decades. It would have been an enchanting way to spend the fall, except for the unnerving news that her family is living out some fairytale, and has a history with the town curse... With the help of new friends, Loren begins to explore her role in Lointaine - but can she determine a path through this grim tale that doesn't threaten her own happily ever after?
Auden Llyr is the author of Spell Borne. She grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, steeped in the magic of nature and a steady stream of fairy tales. After obtaining her master’s degree, Auden spent several years as a technical writer before realizing her true vocation lay in writing fiction. She now lives in North Carolina, raising two boys (or perhaps small dragons, as they seem to have similar destructive capabilities) along with her husband.
What an amazing story. I can't wait to get tmy hands on the next one. I feel so connected to the characters. It's a fresh take on a tale as old as time. Everyone should check it out
Such an amazing read! It's the first book I have read in a long time that kept me wanting to keep reading! The twists and turns to get to the end truly kept me on the edge of my seat! I can't wait for the next one!
This book was a lot of fun! I couldn’t put it down. The character development was great. I was confused, laughing, frustrated, overjoyed and annoyed along with the protagonist. I was expecting a good book with a happily ever after. While it didn’t disappoint it, definitely wasn’t predictable! When I finished it, my only thought was, hurry up and write another one, I can’t wait to see what happens next!
