I suffer from anxiety. I constantly overthink to the point where it's incapacitating. I ruminate over past problems, and worry about present and potential future problems. I happened to see an ad for this book on Facebook one sleepless night when I was overthinking, and thought perhaps this was a sign. Usually, I am put off by self-help books because I lose interest in lengthy books that are written like a textbook. I breathed a sigh of relief when this book arrived and it was under 200 pages. I opened it one night when I couldn't stop ruminating, and couldn't put it down. The book is easy to understand, has short chapters, and has scenarios that are so relatable! It made me feel less alone, understood, and hopeful. I am applying the techniques outlined in the book, and can already see a big difference. There's also a free workbook with exercises online, which I haven't checked out yet but plan to soon.

Great read and insight. Really enjoy how the author focuses on the overthinking concept that people deal with rather than on specific mental disorders. Also loved hearing the mention of using humor as a technique to overcome overthinking thoughts. For those especially dealing with overthinking a lot due to pandemic, this book offers great examples and coping skills.

very informative

I am an avid reader and was able to read this rather quickly. There were times I stopped to reflect on my life so I can start applying some of the ideas. I really feel this is a book that should be read in schools and prisons. One never knows what will turn somebody’s life for the better.

I found the book very helpful. It had mentioned a few things that I do personally and had gave a few ways to stop the behavior. I knew I tended to overthink, but there was a few things that overthinkers do that I didn't realize I was actually doing. The ways to stop overthinking that were brought up in this book are simple and easy to do.

If you struggle with overthinking, and anxiety, this book is for you. There were so many instances throughout this book where it seemed the author was describing me and my behavior to a T. I’ve been able to start integrating some of these techniques into my daily life and I’m noticing a big difference in how I feel and see the world.

This is the first “self help” book I read that I actually think was helpful. It explained how anxiety can impact your thinking and stuff like that. And I realized that I indeed do have anxiety and that my overthinking is in fact not normal overthinking.

For chronic overthinkers this is a great book! I think it personally would have been more beneficial to me a couple years ago as I feelnlike I was able to pick up these techniques from other sources over the years, but I can see how it would be a great tool for others.

I highly recommend reading this if you overthink

The author really understands what overthinking is and how it affects a person’s life. It really helped me reduce how often I overthink and I almost never do it now. In turn, it’s reduced my anxiety a lot and now I’m able to go for a major life goal that I’d give up on due to over thinking on the past. The only thing I would love to see is a companion workbook to go with this, as I also have ADHD and can use the additional guide. I would recommend this book for anyone who also deals with overthinking, like I have.
