if you love thrillers short stories this book is perfect for you!
Although it is a short text, it contains an incredible story inside. If you have ever read Agatha Christie's short thrillers and suspense stories that added a bit of detective and espionage to the equation, this book is perfect for you.
The book contains a story full of suspense and expectation of each time wanting to know what happens. Also, being short, it is a story that develops in a fast way which makes you connect with the characters and somehow want to go solving the case and its possible outcomes.
The author manages in this text to convey exactly all the emotions that Rick Malone goes through and allows us to try to play detective and decipher what is happening, I must confess that sometimes one feels useless but many other times one manages to hit the thoughts of the detective. It's like a game for adults, reading while deciphering the hidden story. I highly recommend it!

An excellent thriller
“Payback” is the 4th book in the series that has Rick Malone as the hero. I came across this one and I found it very compelling. It’s a thriller that has a bit of everything. What is interesting about this series is that the stories start and end in the same book.
When Rick Malone finds out that there is an organisation that reclutes women for sex purposes, he strives to look for the criminals. Delving into the organisation per se, he discovers that there is much more than sex, so he must be on the alert.
It’s a well-written story that unveils terrible and not so fictional events along the pages. From the very beginning, it caught my attention! With a brave, witty and intelligent, hard-boiled detective, this novel has become one of my favourites! I truly loved it and recommend it!

Payback, by Russell Williams, is a crime thriller that pulls no punches. It’s somewhat reminiscent of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels, and it also calls to mind various gritty, noire-style films of yesteryear, like The French Connection.
Protagonist Rick Malone is a detective, and he never stops working on a case once it captures his attention. In this short but impactful tale, Malone finds himself battling a sex trafficking ring in Florida. It’s obvious to this seasoned gumshoe who the bad guys are in this situation, since the criminals controlling the ring will stop at nothing to make a profit. To stop them, though, Malone must resort to vigilante justice. Unfortunately for the criminals in his line of fire, this is one detective who doesn’t mind crossing that line.

This interesting book deepens into the difficult underworld of Miami, where Detective Rick Malone fights a relentless battle against a ruthless sex trafficking ring. The narrative pulses with tension as Malone navigates the murky waters of vice and corruption, fueled by his unwavering determination and sense of justice. I think it is amazing the fast-paced plot that keeps me on the edge of my seats from start to finish and also keeps me turning pages until I finally finish. For me, the best part is the character development with an incredible protagonist that makes the read more enjoyable. This incredible book is a must-read for fans of the genre. I recommend it to anyone.

A great crime thriller that follows a detective named Rick Malone and his pursuit against sex trafficking in Miami. It is a novel full of suspense and action, the author style is very engaging and kept me flipping pages non-stop.
Also, I really enjoyed how author Willliams develops the main character. By reading about his action, his way of doing things you can have a really good picture of him, his personality, as a whole. Really good work there. It is like an immersive experience following his footsteps to justice.
Overall, this is a book with a captivating narrative that will keep readers into crime novels hooked from start to finish.
