Bereits in jungen Jahren schrieb Katharina Glaser Kurzgeschichten und Bücher, und entdeckte dann ihre Leidenschaft für das Schreiben von Gedichten. Sie liest Bücher vier verschiedener Sprachen und studiert zurzeit.
Mit sechzehn Jahren schrieb sie und mit siebzehn Jahren veröffentlichte sie ihre erste Novelle "Shadows On Paper". Im Jahr 2023 schrieb sie die Kurzgeschichte "Zwischen Universen".

This tome ruthlessly shattered my being, only to mend it anew, and then once more dismantle me. Upon the tome's consumption, my initial verdict of four stars appeared satisfactory, but today, in the throes of deeper contemplation, that judgment teeters on the brink of revision. This opus demands the entirety of a constellation to adorn its cover, each syllable, every phrase, and every subsequent leaf.

From my first engagement with this work, not a solitary day eluded thoughts of Jay and his hapless tragedy. It felt akin to a plunge without tether, an endless descent that paradoxically morphed into flight—much like Jay, his essence masterfully transmuted by Glaser's ethereal metaphors, etching indelibly upon my heart's canvas.

This volume, for me, inhabits a sacred alcove within my soul, warranting frequent revisitations. For it is the finest of literary creations that unfurls its layers through multiple readings, yielding the sweetest essence of comprehension.

Glaser's poetic endowment, a vessel bearing the weight of sorrow and the shadowed ambience of this narrative gem, swathed me in its delicate embrace—an unsettling tenderness that stealthily advances, culminating in a rhapsody of unpolished emotion. The text's talons envelop me, and I, in solemn unity, extend affection to its embrace.

I enjoyed reading this short story. :)
The writing style was very pleasant and the plot on its own was very interesting. It was giving that dark academia vibe. I definitely liked the idea as a whole too, but for me it was actually too short. I feel like there could've been more character build up. I also think that it would've been more interesting if the mc slowly notices that thinks in reality and his mind don't add up.
The story also got really exciting with the last twenty pages. Those were exceptionally good though.

The relationships of Jay were really nicely written, Daniel and Rosie really made his character shine.
A decent author debut, I'm interested in what will come next.
Can recommend for a train trip (*^ω^*)

Ich bin begeistert und ein bisschen verstört und damit hat diese Novelle genau das gehalten, was von ihr versprochen wurde.

Ich habe in einigen Reviews gelesen, einige Aspekte der Handlung seien sehr vorhersehbar gewesen. Meiner Meinung nach stimmt das nur Teilweise; ja, ich konnte durch bestimmte Hinweise einen Teil des Endes auch erahnen, doch das ist genau das, was gutes Foreshadowing für mich ausmacht.

Das Pacing war genau richtig und ich konnte gar nicht aufhören zu lesen, auch wenn es nicht mein Plan war, das Buch in einem Sitting zu lesen.

Alles in allem eine sehr gut erzählte und fesselnde Geschichte, die einem auch nach dem Lesen nicht loslässt.

I bought this book on a whim and it did not disappoint.

One day, on my mindless scrolling frenzy, I came across a tiktok the author herself had posted about her book and it intrigued me. I searched for her book and finally bought it when it first became available in English at my bookstore of choice. My copy is the 'Third printing edition 2023,' and while there were a few minor typos scattered across the 162 pages, these hardly affected the overall experience for me. I learned from the "About the author" section that she was 17 by the time this novel first began publishing. I congratulate her deeply for this great work at such a young age. It definitely has the fanfiction-esque quality to it, especially as the ending draws near and near with each chapter but overall a wonderful read and I'm definitely waiting for the next novel that will, hopefully, be a little more tame than this one.
With that being said, I hope her next novel will be about a young love, not too dissimilar from the one of Jay and Aaron, but this time with a happy ending. I say this because I felt robbed of a good ship. As I read chapter 11 I could feel my heart melt for those two. I see great potential in such a story because I know the author has the talent to make it happen. The author can write whatever she wants to write and I'm just a stranger on the internet who has an opinion. I don't mean to degrade the book and the work that was put into it by proposing the idea of a new book so I'm sorry if it comes out like that.

📕BOOK REVIEW (NO SPOILERS):
Considering this book is available in German and English, I figured I might as well review it in English so more people understand it! 🫶🏼

First off, this one was rather short compared to what I would usually read, however I really enjoyed it! It was somewhat confusing, yet so interesting - I am genuinely glad I got to see this on my BookTok ‚For you‘ page! And while I feel like this a very dark, and also deep read, it was very calming at the same time! Definitely recommend it!

Eine schöne Novelle für zwischendurch. Mit knapp über 100 Seiten ist sie auch sehr gut an einem Tag lesbar. Anfangs war ich ein wenig verwirrt, was der „neue“ Aspekt an dieser Novelle sein soll, am Ende war es jedoch sehr ersichtlich. Die Story ist sinnvoll und schlüssig; die Charaktere sind interessiert gestaltet. Das „Dark-Academia“ feeling kommt auch gut rüber. Ein wenig erinnert es mich im entferntesten an Bahnwärter Thiel.

Würde es definitiv weiter empfehlen 👍🏻

Was hab‘ ich da gerade gelesen?

Ganz ehrlich, ein Meisterwerk. Ich war zwischendurch verwirrt wo die Story hinführt oder ob sie überhaupt irgendwo hinführt…
Aber hallo, die hat zu einem unglaublichen Ende geführt und ich musste erstmal für eine Weile an die Wand starren.

Es ist wirklich schade, dass die Novelle noch nicht mehr Aufmerksamkeit hat. Ich hoffe dazu kommt es noch.

Dass das eine 16-jährige geschrieben hat, ist absolut unglaublich und ich hoffe wirklich, dass sie noch mehr veröffentlichen wird. Ich würde definitiv alles lesen.

Ich muss ehrlich sagen, dass ich die Novelle nicht sonderlich gemocht habe. Ich hatte mich ziemlich drauf gefreut, weil ich Dark academia und mysteriöse Bücher sehr schätze und liebe. Es hat mich allerdings einfach nicht abgeholt, weder vom Plott noch vom Schreibstil. Vielleicht war es auch einfach nicht für mich bestimmt gewesen, schließlich mochten viele das Buch :)

Wow, writing a book with such a depth while being only 16 is a very serious challenge and Katharina has managed to do it exceptionally! This is one of those books that pull you in the story with such magnitude that at the end you are not very sure if you aren’t in the story yourself.

It was alright to be honest.

This book was recommended to me via tiktok and i thought why not? lets support a small author and her debute novella.

however, this was not 100% for me, im a bit sceptic. I liked the storyline and where it was going. the plot? absolutely planned out and nice but kind of predictable.

I liked thw writing stile though. You could see that she really got some talent but maybe this was not the big hit but definitely a good debute!

Es ist unglaublich was man hier alles erlebt. Der Charakter von Jay ist wirklich sehr verwirrend. Diese Novelle hat viele emotionale Reaktionen hervorgerufen und ist daher die 5 ⭐️ Wert. Ob ich es so schnell wieder lesen werde, weiß ich nicht. Ich glaube ich werde es erstmal alles verarbeiten müssen. Die Novelle lässt einen zweifeln, hinterfragen und sprachlos zurück... wow

Am Anfang fand ich es etwas schwer weiter zu lesen, aber ab ca der Hälfte wurde es immer spannender und am Ende bin ich super froh weiter gelesen zu haben!
Die Plottwist waren supper selbst wenn manche ein wenig hervorsehbar waren.
