Rancher's Pregnant Wife

Rate this book
True love is worth fighting for…

Rancher Silas Anderson was raised to believe in one thing: hard work leads to success. Maybe that’s why he throws himself into his work a little too much. Come hell or high water, he’s going to make his ranch the best it can be. No matter the cost...

But his wife Bea has dreams of her own—a life she’s had to put on hold, while Silas focused all his attention on the ranch. And as far as she’s concerned, he’s never going to give her the love and care she deserves. When she discovers she’s pregnant, she decides it’s time for change.

Bea is ready to leave Silas for good, and begin her career as a seamstress to support herself and the baby on the way. But when Silas realizes he’s about to lose the love of his life, he’s determined to fix his mistakes and win her back. Starting with a breath-taking kiss that leaves Bea weak in the knees. And as she stitches away at a client’s bridal gown, she begins to wonder… Does Silas deserve a second chance?

But when things start to fall apart at the seams, Bea is forced to make a choice. If she wants to start a new life, will she have to leave the old one behind?

Bea loves Silas however she has never felt more alone as his number one priority is the ranch which doesn’t leave much time for anything else and that includes her. Finding out she is the pregnant also forces her to acknowledge this isn’t the life she wants for her child, and it is finally time to put herself first.

Silas loves Bea but has always believed his main priority was providing stability and security for his family. Bea leaving him is a wake-up call and now he must prove to her that he can be the man that she and their child need him to be.

Bea and Silas take us on quite the journey as repairing their marriage will not only take compromise but honesty as well so that they both can have the happiness they deserve.

I've read a lot of books written by Leslie North; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.

This is the first book in the Anderson Ranch Brothers Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Bea & Silas; he’s a rancher and is determined to make his ranch to best it can be; she decides that she’s tired of him putting all his time and attention into the ranch and is ready to leave him when he tries to convince her to give him a second chance.

Silas is driving the people closest to him away with his need to control everything, including his wife Bea. She's had enough of coming last in his priorities and has moved out. What can Silas do to win back the heart of the woman he loves?.

Communication -isn't it what all marriages come down to? Silas and Bea have a huge communication issue -she agrees with everything thinking she'll argue next time- it's not worth the fight now -and Silas has to micromanage everything. Very sweet story of 2nd chances (maybe even 3rd!) and improving the commitment two people in love had made.

A marriage broken to the point of divorce isn't what I expected here when I read the title, but this unique romance was an excellent read. I loved how the author showed the character's love languages. As always, Ms. North hits a home run.

This is book one of the Anderson Ranch Brothers series and the main characters are rancher Silas Anderson and his estranged wife Bea. Silas took over the Double A Ranch after the death of his father, while his younger brother Nate went off to college, before returning to help out on the ranch, with their youngest brother Joseph now away at college and not seeming interested in the ranch life at all. Silas met Bea a little over three years ago, when she was travelling across the country from Chicago, and stop in town to visit an old friend, Jessica. It was love at first sight and they got married shortly after and she moved onto the ranch and started helping out. Only problems started to surface and Bea became unhappy with her life, when she realised that Silas would always put the ranch and its family legacy first, above her, their marriage, the chance to have children of their own, or her even following her dream profession! He was raised by a very strict father and grandfather and he runs the ranch in the same traditional ways, refusing to listen to any ideas Nate has about modernising the ranch or doing things differently! Matters came a head with Bea after three years of marriage, when Silas yet again decided to put the ranch and an animal on it, ahead of their date night for Valentine’s Day! She walked out and he hasn’t even tried to find out where she is staying since.
Five weeks have passed and a snow storm is about to hit, so Silas goes to close up the small cabin he built for the two of them as a getaway, only to find that is where Bea has been staying. She has started her dreamed of job, setting up Busy Bea’s Sewing and Alterations business and working from the cabin. He clears out a few of his belongings, since Bea reminds him that he gave her the cabin as a wedding gift and is about to leave, only to find the snow has come down a lot heavier and earlier than expected It would be too dangerous to drive back to the ranch on the roads now. They settle down in front of the fire and fall asleep. When he finds out the next morning that she is pregnant, he wants a second chance and isn’t going to allow her to stay at the cabin with no power or heating. She is determined to continue the divorce proceedings, even though they are back in the ranch house together, but not in the same bedroom at the moment. She still loves him, but unless he can change, then there is no chance for her own happiness. It will be a hard decision, but the child they are unexpectedly having together will tie them together as parents, no matter what.
Silas is finally beginning to realise that he doesn’t want to lose Bea as she is the love of his life and he will never love another. He is beign given his second chance as she starts working on her business from the front room and a deal to alter a family wedding dress could help save the farm for Silas. But Silas may not have learnt to bend for others quite as much as Bea had hoped, as he ends up pushing Nate away and then having all that extra work piled upon himself. He asks Bea to help, but being pregnant and trying to do her own work, she is tired beyond belief and his old habits are coming right back at her! Things are falling apart right in front of them and she is still not beign assertive enough about her own wants and needs, to show him that he needs to share the burden and listen to others, not just railroad his way or the highway! He will end up losing her if he keeps on pushing and when push comes to shove, it is hoped that he will finally get that most important revelation that makes him realise the error of his ways before it is too late! He has had more than enough chances to get it right and it would be a shame if these two go their separate ways. Can he finally put others first, before his beloved legacy of a ranch and his belief he has to work hard to gain success? If he can’t, then Bea will walk away for good this time and only he will be to blame. Thankfully, he comes to realise that her love is worth fighting for and has to work hard to prove his love for her and that he has listened to what she wants from him and to place her and their children first, not the ranch! A hard learnt lesson for Silas, and one that he still has a lot to improve on, but will hopefully get there in the end. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Rancher’s Pregnant Wife de Leslie North

Argumento:

Ranchers Pregnant Wife|Leslie North

Original, page-turner, entertaining, romantic, wonderful characters, HEA

Nothing but memories now…

I received a free advance reader copy and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the first time I’ve read one of Leslie North’s works. And while this is part of a series, it can stand alone. Although because I enjoyed this book so much, I plan on reading the entire series.

The heartbreak between Silas and Bea is very real. From Silas’s point of view, he is driven to make a better life for his family. He is continually striving to improve the ranch not only to honor is father’s legacy; but also, to ensure a future for the next generation. Silas is under a great amount of stress knowing that the just one wrong decision or one turn of bad luck could ruin the ranch. It’s in his protective nature to shoulder the success of the ranch solely on his shoulders even when his brother offers multiple times to take on more responsibilities.

While Silas only wants to protect his family, Bea is tired of standing on the sidelines. She is no longer satisfied with being an afterthought. She’s extremely upset and jealous of a ranch that literally takes her husband away from her and isolates her from her own dreams. When she first married Silas, she had wanted to be his partner at the ranch and in their life. But, his refusal to share his burdens eventually push her further and further away.

Although Bea only moved to a cottage on the property, it’s enough to give her the freedom to explore her own talents, wants, and dreams. It also gives Silas the opportunity to see Bea as an independent woman who isn’t completely reliant on him. Their struggle to understand what each other needs gives the reader something to hope for. Silas and Bea deserve another chance at happiness because it’s clear to the people around them that they still love one another. They just need to open up to one another, communicate, and become the partners they were always meant to be in marriage and life.

Ranchers Pregnant Wife is a wonderful journey with the characters Leslie North has created. They include an incredibly strong husband who loves his wife unconditionally. Silas only lacks the understanding to show her. Bea loves Silas with all her heart, she just needs to find her voice and express her needs which Silas doesn’t even realize he’s overlooking. The love they share for each other and their family is who they are and the ranch should be a source of pride and strength, not a dividing point. This is especially important when they are faced with difficult decisions.

Silas met Bea three years ago. It was love at first sight. Bea was visiting Montana and never left. Silas has swept her off her feet. They marries and Silas seemed to out the ranch before his wife. Valentine’s Day was the last straw. Bea had enough of the ranch coming before her. She packed up her things and moved into the the cabin they used as a get away when they need some time alone. Silas drove out to the cabin. Bea was working on what she loved to to do. She was sewing on a project. It was a snowstorm coming and knocked out the power. Silas talked her into coming back to the ranch. It was much safer for her at the house. Bea lived Silas but he always out the ranch first. Bea found out she was pregnant and wanted to raise their baby in the cabin. Silas found her vitamins and wanted to know if she was pregnant. She just didn’t know how to tell him. The storm took out his new planter he just bought. Bill the mechanic took a look at it. The went the house so he use the Wi-Fi to see where he could fit Silas in. He noticed Bea working on seeing projects. He made a deal with Silas. His family has a antique wedding gown that needs to be altered. If Bea could work on it, he could fit Silas in. Bea was working on prom dresses and now this project. The dress was a little outdated. She wanted help Silas but she wanted the bride to be happy about her day. Silas was stuck in his old ways he was pushing everyone away. His brother Nate had ideas but Silas wouldn’t listen so Nate left. He wanted things his way but not listening. He almost lost his wife not once but twice. Bea found out she was having twins. Silas felt overwhelmed with the ranch and his family. He had to do something or he would lose his wife. He started listening to what she had and needed. She put her wants before her own. Not anymore. She was talented and Silas had to respect that. He didn’t want to lose Bea so he started changing his ways. He finally started listening and coming around. Good story!.

Silas and Bea Anderson have been married for three years, living in the ranch house and working the land that has been in his family for generations. When Silas lost his parents and he became the owner, caretaker, the responsible (in his eyes the ONLY one responsible) for making or breaking and continuing the legacy that has been for generations, to the point he refused to allow any and all changes to occur, refusing to even listen to any idea’s from Bea, didn’t even feel comfortable or allow any changes to the decor to the ranch house itself much less allow his younger brother Nate to make suggestions on how to run things around the ranch. This ended up coming between him and Bea, she didn’t want for much some attention from Silas and some babies, Silas kept steadfast saying now was not the time - someday. Bea pretty much had gotten enough and left Silas and the ranch, she left him and went to a cabin further out from the ranch but still on his property. While she was there she discovered she was pregnant. Silas found out quite by accident that Bea was pregnant, Mother nature threw a wrench in things, made it impossible for Bea to continue living at the cabin, while living back at the ranch they thought they were going to make it work, this was their second chance, but not with Silas acting and sliding back into his intense, stubborn, selfish ways. Will Silas wake up and see how wrong he has been and what is and should be the most important in his life? I am quickly becoming a huge fan of this author. I recommend this series. I don’t think you will be disappointed as long as this is a genre you enjoy reading. I am looking forward to the next book. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

Marriage Takes Patience And Compromise -
Silas was a rancher so stuck in his ways, that he nearly alienated everyone in his life and was on the verge of losing everything because of his stubbornness. Bea was still in love with Silas when she made the decision to divorce him, but fate brought them back together after Silas accidentally discovered Bea’s life changing news.

Working together brought helped them remember the good times and brought them closer, but the Silas nearly derailed their reunion due to the stress he was under. Luckily Silas had his light bulb moment in the middle of defending his wife, when he realised the error of his ways and his behaviour change gave Bea the confidence to give him a second chance at their forever.

Leslie North did a great job telling this story and kept me on tenterhooks as I turned the pages. I just wanted them to get their happily ever after, as I could see that they were really meant to be together. I was actually jumping with joy when Silas had his ‘Come to Jesus’ moment and realised he had been a douchecanoe, who needed to change his ways. When I started reading the story, I didn’t think they would ever be able to find their way back together, but what had me hooked on the story, was the wonderful storyline and interesting characters. Another great book from a talented author.

Silas Anderson is married to Bea and five weeks ago she up and left him. They’d been married three years. There are few days that they could get away at the cabin when there was so much work at the Double A Ranch. Bea is staying at the cabin when Silas goes to check on it. He’d originally given the cabin to her as a wedding gift although he’d meant it for both of them. While he packs up some of his stuff from the cabin, and has a cookie snow falls so fast he can’t leave. They start talking. She started a sewing and alterations business. He finds her prenatal vitamins and is mad since they are in the process of divorcing.

The baby will come in October, during the harvest. I can see why she felt he was unavailable to her but I think some of it could’ve been fixed if she’d opened her mouth and talked with him. Since the power is out and she can’t work her sewing machine and it is dangerous for her and the baby he talks her into coming to the ranch house. Silas’ younger brother Nate is …. Best words to describe him are incorrigible and annoying. Laura the house keeper is a sweetie. I’ve changed my mind. I’m on Bea and Nate’s side. Silas needs a good kick in his rear.
I loved this book.

Silas’s upbringing taught him that hard work and the family ranch’s success come before everything else in life. Bea’s formative years showed her how to make herself ‘smaller’ and to make other people’s lives easier. On the surface, this was a recipe for disaster. Can they learn better than their bad habits before it’s too late? Holy mackerel. This book was a bit of an emotional roller-coaster. But, I tend to expect that from a second chance romance, because there’s usually a lot of tension and hurt feelings that have built up by the time a relationship breaks, and those all need to be dealt with before there’s any hope of a true reconciliation. Bea and Silas are no exception to that standard. In fact, they might be so entrenched in their misunderstandings and miscommunications that they’re the couple to prove out the rule. I loved watching these two together. It was so easy to see the chemistry between them. It took so long for both of them to recognize the error of their ways that I despaired of them ever getting it right. Once they finally did, it was like the heavens opened up and smiled on them. I’m very curious to see what the author has planned for the next Anderson brother and I can’t wait to read all about it.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that is so closely related to real life and what has to be done to save a marriage that need to be repaired. Silas Anderson had inherited the family farm as the older brother of Nate and Joseph but Silas believes only he came do it all and he Micromanages his brother Nate until he has had enough and walks out and he’s not the only one that is walking out on Silas so is his wife Bea who has given Silas and the ranch everything for 3yrs and when Silas forgets valentines day Bea is furious and decides she needs to think of herself and when she finds out she is pregnant now is time for a change and a new life and business as a seamstress and the cabin is the perfect place to start. All Silas has ever known is the ranch and has put everything into it even at the risk of losing the love of his life. Now everything is falling apart and losing Bea gives him the wake up call he needs and must fight to get her back and more so now after finding out she is pregnant as well. Can Silas save his marriage and win the woman he loves back and have the family they have always wanted and can he make everything right with his brother Nate too. This book gives reader a look at a marriage that does not lack in love, but does lack in compromise, understanding and communication. Everyone who sees Bea and Silas together can see their deep love for each other. What they don’t see is the foundation of their marriage crumbling because one is looking to the past, set on carrying on tradition and refusing to make changes. The other is looking not only to the future, but also to personal fulfillment, being a contributor to the finances of the family and to building that family. Bea is tired of watching her husband work himself so hard, putting everything about the ranch ahead of making a family with her. She is also tired about him dismissing her talents and her wish to build a business of her own. She always comes in second to his beloved ranch. Not seeing a way forward, Bea decides divorce is the only answer. A surprise pregnancy that Silas discovers by accident causes more friction between them especially since Bea refuses to stop divorce proceedings. Can these two repair the rift between them? Is there still a chance for a happily ever after.

Silas and Bea have been married for three years. Bea finds that she can no longer stay with Silas. She feels he is putting the ranch before her and her wishes. She wants to start a business as a seamstress and wants to start a family. Silas tells her that maybe once they get the ranch settled, they can do that. He doesn’t see a need to change or make changes. Bea can no longer live like that, especially since she has learned she is pregnant, so she moves to the cabin on the ranch that they had used as a get—away. However, a series of problems occur at the cabin and Bea cannot live there for now. She moves back to the ranch house but in a guest room. She had started her work as a seamstress so she has to find a place to do her work. She and Silas have some disagreements on where and how she sets up her work area but he finally agrees with her. But, although Bea thought he was changing, she finds that even when he agrees to help her, it is only so he can do more on the ranch and he still is putting the ranch first. Can these two people work out the problems in their marriage before the babies come?.

The lack of communication between Bea and Silas leads to disastrous separation pending their divorce, but fate has other plans for them.

Silas is a rancher who puts it all into his ranch. Hard work leads to a rewarding future. Unfortunately it's causing damage to his marriage. Bea has been patient until she can no longer overlook all the shortfalls from his part. He spends most his time worrying about the ranch. He strives for the best for his future and that of his family. He forgets the promises he makes to Bea until she walks out. On a fateful adverse weather day, he walks into their cabin to find Bea there. She has had enough. She can't play second fiddle anymore. Silas discovers that she is holding out on him and decides to take her back to the house until the weather settles. Bea needs to carry on with her seamstress business which is proving to be quite successful. Will they come to their senses and realise what they are missing?

Silas is stubborn and always has the final word. He hardly ever listens to her. Bea is still very much in love with him. When Silas sees the error of his ways, he sets out to put things right. It's very well developed. It's a good romance and worth the read.

Third time’s a charm for this grumpy-sunshine couple
Rancher’s Pregnant Wife (Anderson Ranch Brothers Book 1) by Leslie North is a sweet and steamy romance that is all about recognizing one’s own flaws and having the courage to do something about it.
I love Bea. She is so sweet, supportive, kindhearted and warm, but fails to voice her needs or push for what she wants. While she is still in love with her husband, their marriage has gotten lost in the daily demands of the Ranch as well as her silence. Silas is the definition of grumpy stubborn. His love for his family’s ranch and his singleminded desire to ensure it prospers causes him to become shortsighted about what matters most. He loves his wife, but fails to realize how often he has disappointed her.
Overall, despite Bea’s determination to divorce and start making her dreams come true by starting new, fate has other plans. Silas had to realize his part then show Bea he understands what she needs from him. I loved Silas’s grand gesture to win Bea back, this time forever. Third time’s a charm after all for this HEA.

Bea had taken all she could handle from her husband, Silas always putting the needs of the ranch first so when he canceled their Valentine dinner plans that was the last straw. She packed her stuff moving to the cabin, and she started her own sewing business. He came out one afternoon to pick his stuff up from the cabin, but he ended up getting snowed in by a powerful late snowstorm that took the electric down to the cabin. He learned during the night she was pregnant so when morning came she returned to the ranch. Until, the cabin was functional again. Silas was the type of man that thought every decision through carefully and did not ask for input from others. It was his way or the highway which he really did not see himself as that type of person, but ask his wife or brother, Nate. He would not take any advice from Nate either. Would Silas try to use the second the storm gave him to change his ways and save his family, or would he continue on as before? A beautiful story of family, love at first sight, heritage, and above all compromise. Highly recommend!.

This is a great start to a lovely three book series.
Bea had walked out on Valentines day, she was fed up with not being a priority in Silas's life, she knew that he loved her and she loved the ruggedly handsome rancher but it wasn't working.
Silas Anderson had taken over his fathers ranch with help from his brother Nate, Silas had tunnel vision as far as the ranch was concerned, his way was the right way, he wouldn't listen to Nate's ideas and that was alienating Nate, he had Bea working on the farm even though she was a city girl who's only dream was to be a seamstress and run a little business.
Now Bea had left him he had to get her back but had he left it too late ?
When he discovered that Bea was pregnant he was even more determined to win her back, she had to move back to the ranch.
This story follows the journey of Bea and Silas learning that communication is paramount to make a marriage work no matter how much they love one another, Silas had to learn that his family came first.

Second Chance Romance

Silas has inherited the family ranch and it’s his life’s mission to fix it up to its former glory, keeping the family legacy alive. Bea is his wife and they fell for each other fast. Their romance was a good one, but as time went on, Silas’s priorities got skewed. He put the ranch first too many times and Bea is tired of being neglected. She decides to get a divorce and as they are in the process of separating, Silas becomes aware that she is pregnant.

He loves his wife and doesn’t want to get divorced, even more now that she’s pregnant with their child. A bad storm forces them to be in close proximity again and this is his chance to prove to her that he can be the husband she deserves.

This story was very emotional and sweet! I love a good second chance romance and the natural chemistry between Silas and Bea was smoking and proved to be too difficult to ignore. Very good!

A very good start to this series about the Anderson brothers. Silas is the oldest and since he has been in charge of the ranch, it’s his way or not. He’s a workaholic and in his mind the ranch comes first above all else. Bea, his wife, has felt neglected and for a long time and she finally decides to leave and follow her dreams. When he accidentally discovers her neonatal vitamins, he realizes she hadn’t told him she was pregnant. All she ever wanted when they got married was to have a family and start her own seamstress business, but it was put on hold because of the ranch. He wants her back and he starts showing her he can change until things take a turn and he’s back to being focused on the ranch. Can these two who definitely love one another works things out for a HEA? Great start to this new series.

Shortly after Bea and Silas married, he discovered the family ranch he is running is nearly broke. So throwing himself into the business was what he felt he needed to do. And Bea was at his side helping him for the next 4 years, but he often ignores her ideas or suggestions to improve the ranch. Silas has not paid attention to his wife's needs or her ideas and she has had enough. She moves to a cabin on the ranch, starts her own custom sewing business, and finds out she's pregnant. Her business becomes a success,, she's highly thought of in the community, and Silas finally realizes what a jerk he has been and promises to put Bea and his unborn Twins first. The story is well paced, well written, compelling storyline, has sizzle, steam, and drama. Solid read and currently available on Kindle Unlimited.

I love Leslie North's books and have read several of her series. This book is the first in the Anderson Brother's series and each can be read as a standalone. The books are a linear timeline so they happen one after another and don't overlap. There is some interaction between the three couples, but for the most part you can pick them up independently without any issues. This is the first book that I have read from Leslie where the h and H were already married but their marriage is on the rocks. Silas feels the pressure of being the firstborn and having to take care of his family's ranch and all the responsibilities that come with it. His stubborn nature causes him to shoulder everything rather than delegating which often puts the ranch before his wife. I understand his point of view, but he needs to learn what is truly important before his divorce is finalized.

Silas Anderson focuses on his ranch, his family's legacy to the exclusion of nearly everything else in his life. Everything links back to the ranch, and the last straw for Bea was him blowing off Valentine's Day. She left him. What will it take for Silas to see that life is passing him by?

Silas is intense. His focus, while admirable very nearly cost him the best thing that ever happened to him. Bea just wants a little something of her own, some babies and Silas to pay attention to her. This story made me sad at first, because the fix seemed so simple. They do get to their HEA, and the next book in the trilogy is set up. It is well written, and the characters are relatable even when Silas isn't likable. I enjoyed and can recommend this one as worth the read.

Stopping off in a small Montana town on a whim while on her way to start a new life, Bea met rancher Silas and fell in love. They married, but it quickly became apparent that his ranch would always be his first priority and he was the only one who knew best. Finally fed up, she moved out, but an unexpected pregnancy and some unexpected togetherness due to a snowstorm may offer them a path back to happiness.

Frankly, I don't know how Bea lasted as long as she did. Silas sounded impossible to live with and not much of a partner at all. Sure, they had chemistry and he might be well-intentioned (sort of. deep down.) but yikes! As such, I'm not quite sure I was able to buy the progression of their story, but this was still a pleasant, low-angst tale with some enjoyable steamy bits!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This was my first read by this author and I will say I really am not a fan of 3rd person, but this book was great. Silas has been an absent husband to his wife Bea and she finally walked out and asked for a divorce. When she walked out she didn't know that she was pregnant with his child, but that's addressed very early on in the story. Silas seems to want to be there for her and their child (we later find out they are having twins) and starts to make changes, but easily falls back into their old ways. It takes most of the story for him to really dive deep into himself to realize what is actually the root of the problem. Once he realizes that they are finally able to move forward. I was frustrated with him and Bea's lack of being able to stand up for herself, but they both come a long way throughout the story and I kept finding myself rooting for them.

Learning what you really need

Rancher's Pregnant Wife is the first book in the Anderson Ranch Brothers series. As the series title says, it is all about the three Anderson brothers, Silas, Nate and Joseph. This is a second chance romance about Silas and his wife Bea. Silas has always wanted to run the family ranch and make it successful. Bea's dreams lay elsewhere but she was happy to support Silas, with the understanding that her dreams could also come true. But now it is even more apparent that her dreams for her life will always take second place to Silas's dreams. With her now being pregnant Bea moves out of the family ranch to start her life over. Will this be the kick in the butt that Silas needs to finally realize just what his most precious dream is.....Bea and their family.

Silas was pretty unbearable as well as inflexible with both his wife and his brother. I liked that Bea became more assertive.

TBH, this felt more historical at the beginning than contemporary. Even with all of the modern references, I kept getting this historical vibe until maybe 50% into the book.

I really wasn't feeling any type of romance or connection between Silas and Bea until it finally clicked for Silas where he was going wrong in their relationship. The sexy times did nothing to alleviate the conflict.

Bea made mistakes too, but her mistakes seemed to place a heavier weight on her than on Silas. I wished Silas had figured out his mistakes earlier in the book. I would have enjoyed it more.
