Evil deeds that go unpunished only ever lead to more tragedy.
A terrible atrocity kills hundreds of people, of which most are children.
Twenty years later the men behind it are still unpunished. Not only that, they are now embroiled in new atrocities.
But someone wants punishment. Someone willing to hire the best to achieve it. Hire Azrael, master assassin.
Sent into a war zone to hunt three men, Peter Black, along with his son and apprentice Michael, must tread a fine line along the edges of the fighting in order to reach their targets.
But as they pick up the scent, they discover that these unpunished men are on a mission of their own. One which will lead to unimaginable horror if it isn’t stopped.

Very much enjoyed the first two, felt had the foundations of a solid series… This starts well, but (for me), it’s a struggle beyond halfway as degenerates into very simplistic, formulaic thriller fodder. I’m glad I didn’t put it down as it comes fighting off the pages in the last fifth. Possibly the issue is trying to set a book in the Ukraine whilst the conflict continues? Having tackled that however, it does (the setting) provide material for a series of twists that, rightly make it a thought provoking 5* book.
This is one of the most disjointed and implausible books ever. Father and son assassins, practice rock climbing while shooting with live ammo—hoping bullets hit only body armor. Escape in a Ferrari that conveniently stops above a manhole cover and a secret hatch in the Ferrari that opens and allows them escape thru sewers. They manage to get to another town where the rent a luxurious villa/hotel suite with their dwindling funds of 87,000 euros. Robin (the father) unpacks their Armani suits from a suitcase they didn’t run thru the sewers with. Meanwhile the all-powerful Russian oligarch tracks them down in the restaurant where they’re dining in their Armani suits. Offers Robin and boy wonder 500,000 euros just to meet. Robin says no. Wonder Boy reminds dad they only have87,000 euros. They fly to Russia in a Gulfstream, of course… this is where I started laughing and wonder what legitimate book editor would even consider publishing this drivel.
I would have given it four stars, but there may have been a little plagiarism
So this book starts with Peter and Michael living in Italy and Michael having advanced to the point that he’s participating in the family business so to speak. Like every business theirs has a need for revenue so they take a job that takes them to Ukraine. On their journey they encounter spies, soldiers, mercenaries, terrorists, and grudges from past jobs, in a book full of twists and turns.
About the assertion of plagiarism, it is not word for word, but there is a fight scene in this book that was taken from a Gray Man book. It is the one where the two squaring off move through various styles and techniques as the scene evolves. It was a straight up rip off, and a lazy Walmart version of one at that. So they lost a star. It’s still worth a read if you have you have nothing better waiting to be read.
there isn't a slow page in the book. unless you count the extra time it takes to pronounce all those Russian and Ukrainian names. fiction though it is, it was tempting to believe that the plot came straight out of the front pages of today's newspapers. but, somehow, the world's most renowned assassin and his teenaged son get. the job. done. and I'm guessing, in time to tackle the next one... I just hope it gets written and edited with a fine toothed comb. this one... was not.
Peter and his son, Michael, agree to get revenge for a Russian oligarch whose wife and daughters were murdered by Russian agents. On their way to assassinate the killers they are captured several times, but manage to escape and continue their search. Little do they know they are being dragged into a plot to make the Ukrainians look like they have sent a dirty bomb into Russia. The plot was to typurn the rest of the world against the Ukraine. ENJOY!
Peter and Michael are working together but will this job see an end to them.
Peter wanted Michael to go and live with his grandparents but Michael wants to become an assassin like his father. Michael is now seventeen and after his time on the farm with Magda and mother he can now kill but this new contract could not only see the duo killed as the hunters become the hunted but a brilliant change of plot sees the father and son in a fight where not only their lives are at risk but those of hundreds of thousands are at risk. They cannot afford to fail. A brilliant spine tingling end.
The life of an Assassin is hard but you learn a lot all the time. Michael is learning what life is like and how fickle things can be. He is learning to be more cautious and learning to deal with pain. Peter is learning to deal with loss, again. What did I learn from them? To be thankful for what I have and not to ever, ever shed a tear for what I don’t have. But to live and learn and be a good man.
Getting out of near impossible situations is what Peter does. Time and time again. You'd think it would get old because you know he's going to. But it's interesting to find out how. This one sentence really brought out my OCD though. "...presses a Glock 17 to his temple. Cocks the hammer." There is no hammer on a G17. It's not a 1911. Come on Archer....
I rally enjoyed this book. I'm not a great one for all the detailed descriptions about weapons and a lot of that went over my head, but having said that I found myself unable to put it down and reading into the small hours to find out what was going to happen next. It was certainly fast paced and full of action.
The third book in the series continues the story of MC ( now two of them) and the world they live in. Good dialogue and action, with just enough military knowledge to make it feel fresh. It's a good simple airport read that makes you want to know what will happen next!
Excellent 3rd chapter of Peter and his son. Always having to watch your back becomes a job in itself. From old enemies trying to kill them to taking new jobs. But this was more interesting with war as a background. Great plot and excellent read! 10 stars plus!!!! Thanks, Carl Clause
This book does a better job than most reports of giving the reader, at least a slight feeling of what the war in the southern Ukraine between the Ukrainians and the Russians is really like. It is more than ugly, and this book makes you think about things that should be thought about.
This book gives a close up and graffic look at war and all the waste that goes with it. The interesting part was observing how Peter and Michael get out of life threatening situations. Very imaginative story line and it is always good when the good guys win!!!
Normally I could rustle up some compassion for the bad guys...you know, difficult childhood..blah blah blah....But David Archers bad guys are so perfectly bad.. I got zero* and it Doesn't matter that the hero of the story is an assassin... A brutal brilliant assassin.. He's the hero...and I'm down with that. More please.
Peter and Michael find themselves on a mission to find and kill the people who killed the daughters of a Russian billionaire oligarch so that justice and revenge can be fulfilled, one major problem is that to complete their mission they must hunt for the killers whilst being hunted themselves in the war zone of Ukraine.
Some tough emotional choices in this. Is it really better to love than not at all? Peter and Michael have lost so much. Such heartache in their world of murder, espionage, double agents, mistrust and pure evil. Such a complicated life that they attempt to correct the wrongs
Nice pacing for the story. Great action, and you believe the team has the ability to do what must be done. Overall, I'd recommend reading the book. I think I will read another in the series in the near future. Thanks for the action filled book.
Fast paced action and the dirty dynamics of war all interlaced with the emotional chaos of death, betrayal, and love erased by lies and the dirt of life and war. Even as one chapter of life closes, another opens as filthy and soul destroying as the last. The next chapter always awaiting..... Another brilliant rendition....
I loved the way its start at the beginning with simple but clean story. Then it keeps getting a twist here and there. Then more twisted till its so wild you can wait to see what's going to happen next. Its a well written book high recommended to read.
Unpunished Deeds (Peter Black Book #3) by David Archer... A quest for revenge. Father and son. Old Enemies. Military thriller. Action. Danger. Twists. Sinister Agendas. Dirty Bomb. Challenges.
A great little story with our hero Peter Black and his son. Trained assassins, hired to kill some Russian renegads deep into the Ukraine. Pitted at almost impossible tasks only a super agent could get through.
I like peter black character but having his 15,year old son with him doing things with him kinda hard to believe I would have had him join up with his father maybe at 20 but at 15 bit hard to get ones head around that
The description of the exact name and model number of all the guns and vehicles and everything was just overwhelming and unnecessary. It Was annoying after a while.
Peter and Michael to take a job in Russia during war between Russia and the Ukraine. Michael is thrown into the world of an assisin while trying not to be killed by the war raging around them.
