Two skeletons are found with arms wrapped in an infinite embrace, discovered at the bottom of the sea.
The corpses of a young couple are discovered in a crabbing cage off the coast of Alaska. Someone is murdering young married couples, and his taunting notes to the police call his next shot. He promises to next kill Nome's sweethearts—Priscilla Porter and Chief Baker.
With her sister and brother-in-law threatened, FBI Agent Ella Porter is serving out her banishment in the small, gold-mining town, and is now faced with enemies from every direction. A tycoon of a father who wants her dead. An internal investigation that wants her job. And now a murderer striking the shores of the small, wilderness town she once called her home.
Against this tidal wave of opposition, she's forced to use every ounce of cunning and training to outwit and outlast. And through it all, she's determined to bring this new, demented murderer to shore.
Having worked on projects with New York Times Bestsellers and USA Today bestsellers, Georgia Wagner recently hit #1 bestseller with her newest series. Location and character are two big factors for Georgia, and getting those right allows the story to flow seamlessly onto the page. And flow it does, because Georgia is so prolific a new term is required to describe the rate at which nerve-tingling stories find their way into print.
When not found attached to a laptop, Georgia likes spending time in local arboretums, among the trees and ponds. An avid cultivator of orchids, begonias, and all things floral, Georgia also has a strong penchant for art, paintings, and sculptures. A many-decades-long passion for mystery novels and years of chess tournament experience makes Georgia the perfect person to pen the Artemis Blythe series. That's where it all started, but the drive to craft thrilling mystery tales soon demanded new characters in new locations.
Too many unanswered questions, yet there are no answers. Stories that are only half of a story. This continuing saga leaves so many open ended puzzling unknowns. Disappointing
Ella has always hated the water. The Bering sea is too unforgiving. Skeletons are found in a crab pot, and she has to help figure out who put them there before more end up the same way. Some psycho is playing a deadly game, and Ella doesn't know the rules. Intense action. I wouldn't suggest reading right before bedtime. Eek, it kept me up till I finished!
Far from the shores of Nome in the Bering sea an horrific discovery is made.Eleanor Porter/ Ella the FBI agent is facing harsh repercussions in interviews stemming from the Spring Children cult rituals, the graveyard killer otherwise known as Mortimer Graves had disappeared again.Brenner Gunn is the only Marshal in town and they have history ,him and the Porter family. Priscilla/Cilla Baker nee Porter is married to the Chief of police . Their father a prominent figure with a lucrative Mining organisation. He is also under suspicion of trying to kill Ella…Ella and Brenner have a new case, there’s an escaped convict lying dead on a crab boat. Great Ella’s fear of water rises again. She must overcome this tenfold as this cryptic killer has struck a little closer to home….This kidnapper come killer is playing a deadly game of cat n mouse . This is an exciting, nail biting gripping experience, it’s fast paced and thorough. Brilliant read from Georgia Wagner once again. I received an advance copy of this book and my review is in my own words and voluntary
This is the 4th in the series and can't wait until the next one comes out. Ella Porter, FBI Agent is still in Nome, AK. She was sent there because on her last case with the FBI, she let an serial killer get away and now they are sending her to Nome. This always happens to be where Ella is from. She hasn't talked and seen her family in 12 years!! Not only that, but her father wants her dead!
On this case, she is still working with Brenner Gunn, who she met when she was a teenager and never stopped loving. Brenner is a US Marshall and they work cases together. On this one, skeletons are being found in the ocean. Only through dental work can they be identified, but it is a couple and they seem to be embraced in their death. Now Ella receives a video with a countdown of 2 hours. Two more victims will be found dead in the same way.
Ella and Brenner must work this one along with fighting along the way with Ella's father. Who is behind the killings and the videos? And now the next video says they are going to take Ella's sister!
Ella is pulled into four murders with two at a time being put in crab traps.
Ella and Brennen are onto the murder of four people. They are put in crab traps and sunk. Somehow it involves her father but how to prove it. Then her sister and her husband are put up as the next to be killed. She has to stop all of this. And she is terrified of the sea since the accident when she was a teen. But to catch the killer she has togo to sea and find what she can. She and Brennen have to separate to protect everyone it is the right choice for the wrong reasons and almost gets them both killed.
The kind of story that catches your breath! This story left the hairs standing up on the back of my neck! I literally could not put this book down until I had finished it! I don't very often give up sleep over a book but this one kept me fully engaged from start to finish with a huge sigh at the end once I finished it! Brilliant writing!
I'm hooked, but I need a break from the Porter family. There are 3 books left in the series. As much as I want to find out how it all turns out, I have enough to keep me reading for a long time. A serial killer who tells the authorities who's next; a dysfunctional, powerful family, identical twins who could not be any more identical. Taking a break. Three books to go.
I was starting to get into this series with the last book...this one was a total flop for me. The characters aren't developing. The love story isn't developing. All the books have had far-fetched things happening, but this book about took it over the edge for me. Nothing feels real. If the next book is more of the same, I'm done.
I really enjoy Georgia Wagner's writing. Strong characters, fast paced and always a bit of surprise thrown in. Don't hesitate to pick up any one of her books. You will not be disappointed.
Holy cow, I did not expect what happened towards the end. I was at the edge of my seat wanting to find out what happened and it happened so quick. What a thrilling book, I can’t wait for the next book!
Who is killing them??? Just when I think we are on dry land the Bering Sea comes rushing in!!! She just can't stay out of the water, can she??? A game played by killers??? I enjoyed this story and recommended the book.
Ella and Brenner have a mystery to solve that keeps coming up with more questions. They keep following the clues and figure out who the killer is. It was a surprise to me., but it only leaves them with more questions. Too many questions, without any answers
There is no break in the action. Page after page of breathless adventure that will leave you frozen in place. A stellar addition to this formidable series. Very Highly Recommended.
Nome has a lot of activity. Is Ella's father involved again? Ella's fear of the sea will be a challenge for her. Brennan and Ella's lives are threatened.
Love the way Georgia wagner writes, she delivers strong characters and great storyline, really enjoy reading them and can't wait to read what happens next
