What if the dead hunted you?

As an untrained soul seer, Grace Crawford has not a damn clue what they want. But she's about to find out.
When she finds a mark on the dead that kills the living, her quest to stop whoever unleashed it pivots to the half-demon Gideon. She’s got her eye on him, and he’s got his on her too—every inch of her.
As the mark haunts humanity’s steps and the death tolls climb, Grace realizes she’s in way over her head. But the lines between good and evil are blurred and figuring out who to trust is hard as hell seeing as God is capable of wrath and Satan was once an angel.

Recipient of the Literary Titan’s Gold Book Award and the Firebird Book Award for paranormal romance.

I absolutely loved this! Marked for Grace is one of those books that gets under your skin and leaves you feeling slightly feral for the next in the series.

The main character, Grace, finds herself caught between the armies of Heaven and Hell on earth when she discovers she can see the marks on the souls of the dead. Unable to identify which side she belongs to, Grace is given two teachers to help her find her true calling: Ben who is at least half an angel (except when he’s around Grace), and Gideon who is as hot as hell and not as bad as he’d like Grace to believe.

While they work out the small matter of who wins control of Grace, another sector, led by the enigmatic Thirty-Seven, is moving against both Heaven and Hell, in an attempt to start a new war while spreading disease throughout the land. Their plan is to control the gatekeepers, and thanks to her powers, Grace is the only one can stop them.

This book is an amazing twist on the Nephilim/ Demon stories with a sexy slow build romance at its heart and lines between Heaven and Hell that are not as clearly defined as they should be. But the best battles are the ones drawn between Ben and Gideon over Grace (and I’ve definitely picked my team). Honestly can’t wait to read the sequels and anything else K.C. Harper writes.

After sitting on this for 5 days.. i am upping my rating from 3 stars to 3.75 stars — I stand by the original review (below) but felt i needed to add to it because i really can’t stop thinking about it. I’m definitely looking forward to book 2 because i know it’ll shine.

Original review:
Debut novel by KC Harper - it was so good!

I found myself confused a lot of the time, I felt like I was missing information and it jumped around quickly, however, it was very packed with action, a slow burn, it leaves you on a cliffhanger set up for book 2!!

Overall it was good, I can see how some people will absolutely LOVE it - it was my first demons/angels, type story, and was unique yet felt familiar?! Idk.

I really did love this story so much! That cliff hanger was wow! I loved Gideon so much except when called her Crys. It drove me crazy at first.
The 3rd person with the chapter pov really threw me off sometimes and I would get a little confused but that's about it. This is a great angel/demon book 😍😍 The characters were great!! And I love where the story is going!! I highly recommend it! I definitely want to reread. Can't wait to read more by this author.

I know a book is good when I get mad about cliffhangers and unresolved issues when it comes to an end. I need the sequel to Marked For Grace ASAP. The relationship between Grave and Gideon has me on the edge of my seat and there is SO much that needs to be addressed. I’m not sure if this is KC Harper’s first book but I got an ARC of it and let me tell you, it reads like an experienced author! You will have a hard time putting this down

I just finished this book, and I had to get my thoughts down right away. First, the blurb really intrigued me, and I started reading it a little while after requesting it. A few pages in, I really wasn’t sure I was going to like it, but I kept reading because I saw lots of promise. Boy, am I glad I did! It got so very good, I didn’t want to put the book down. Grace, Jenna, Gideon…everyone is just so interesting. I thought I knew who the traitor was at one point, changed my mind, and I was still wrong. This was a very engaging book, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. A well-written, interesting, engaging urban fantasy that I can’t wait to read more of. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

THE STORY - What if the dead hunted you? -- Grace has seen the dead for some time now. She has no idea why or how it happened, but she has to live with that. Until she discovers that apparently she’s not the only one seeing them and there is a meaning behind all of it. She’s pushed into a whole world of Nephilim/Demon that is as crazy as it sounds. And as a weird mark appears on some of the deads, she has to uncover the mystery behind it before it’s too late. But who to trust? The line between good and evil is often really thin.

MY REVIEW - What a wonderful read! I had no idea what to expect with this one and I was so pleasantly surprised. I loved how everything went on and we got to learn more about the world as the main character did. She was confused, I was confused, and then we both started to understand things and it just went on perfectly. I love how easy it was to relate to the main character. Her, not knowing who to trust and who not to trust.

And then, trust or not trust... Gideon oh my.... isn’t he perfect? Totally fell for him and so many things he did made me swoon. I mean, Ben was there too but how do you expect me to choose half-angel over half-demon... that’s not happening, sorry Ben. I’m always here for found family / unbreakable friendship and Grace & Noah are just that! They are so precious together (and it’s impossible to not love Noah, he’s funny and such a helpful friend).

Let me tell you that the last 30% of the book left me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put the book down even if my life depended on it. I absolutely loved that there were multiple POV, that gave more and more infos on people and made you see who you could in fact trust or not as you get to know them more in their chapters. I’m not okay with that ending cause I need to know what will happen next!

Thanks to the author for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

MARKED FOR GRACE by K.C. Harper is the kind of story that continues long after you reach the end. Harper’s impeccable pacing, dynamic characters, and romantic tension will leave you longing for more, desperately anticipating the sequel.

Harper delivers a unique, spell-binding story that blurs the lines of good and evil, right from wrong. She shines in her ability to leave the reader questioning who the real hero is in this tale. There were twists and turns along the way seamlessly interwoven with romance and battles that kept me reading page after page, chapter after chapter.

Harper’s dialogue is superb and her command of multiple POVs is exemplary. My favorite characters are the heroine, Grace, and her best friend, Noah. I will leave Grace’s love interest(s) a surprise for future readers, but I will say you won’t be disappointed with her choice.

I was lucky to receive an ARC of MARKED FOR GRACE. My only complaint is now I have to wait until book two is released. :)

This book was such a fast-paced, sexy read! The world-building is fun and intriguing and the romance is a slow-burn steam-fest that I'm excited to follow through the series. Such a great debut!

Thank you K.C. for giving me the chance to read your book baby!!!

Marked For Grace follows the story of Grace Crawford, discovering she can see the dead and the marks that reside on them. She doesn't know why she sees them or if what she is seeing is even real. Until one fateful night one of her coworkers catches her looking at one of the dead souls; and notifies his Sect Leader. Discovering she has the sight, this sets her on a harrowing journey of self discovery. Is she Nephilim? Or Lesser Demon? Will her instincts tell her who she can trust as she is thrust into a world she never knew existed? Does she trust the sweet Nephilim male who has been there for her since discovering she had the sight? Or does she trust the bad boy Lesser Demon to guide her through her new life?

Grace, our FMC, is quick witted, smart, caring, and above all else she is relatable and real. I love when a FMC is very much written to have real attributes of a human. I feel like when they are afraid and cautious internally, but written with a confident exterior... It just really hits the mark for me.

Gideon, one of our MMC, is dangerous, smart, Alphahole, sly, hilarious, sexy, wants Grace to be who she is (he supports her and wants nothing for the best for our girl. which is crazy because he is a "bad boy") and so on and so on. He is everything you want in a morally grey MMC.

Ben, our other MMC, umm you know what you did and I will let you all read for yourself of how you feel about him!

Our side characters...Davis and Jenna... Yes Yes and Yes!!!! Don't you dare hurt them EVER!!!! 🖤🖤And Noah!!!! Oh my goodness I want a best friend like Noah. I love Grace and Noah's relationship it is heartwarming, loving, funny, and so much more. He is the perfect best friend role!

K.C.'s writing is easy to follow and I had so much fun reading this book. I wish there was some more world building and character build up. At times things seemed abrupt where if there was some more detail it would have really brought the scene together. With that I am giving this book five stars...I was thoroughly entertained especially the last 30% . I did not want to put the book down I needed to know what happened. It was so action packed. Marked for Grace gave me TMI vibes. Just the vibes, it is not the same story just some things reminded me of TMI. And I truly love it. I can't wait for more from K.C. And to see where Grace's story is headed. I need more.

Grace Crawford carries the weight of her mother's untimely death, which not only leaves her orphaned but also endows her with a remarkable ability—the power to perceive enigmatic marks on individuals. As she delves into the depths of her newfound abilities, Grace is thrust into a world teeming with Nephilim and Lesser Demons, where she embraces her role as a Shepherd, a guardian tasked with protecting souls and navigating the eternal conflict between the two worlds that have long been enemies.

Marked for Grace, by K.C. Harper, is a thrilling and thought-provoking novel that immerses readers in the captivating world of Nephilim and Lesser Demons. Through the eyes of the protagonist, Grace Crawford, the story explores the complexities of life and death, duty, and destiny. With its unique blend of action, romance, mythology, and religion, the story takes readers on an epic journey that resonates long after the final page is turned. Harper skillfully crafts Grace as a relatable and compelling protagonist, haunted by her past and driven by a profound sense of duty. Through her transformation from an ordinary nurse to a formidable Shepherd, Grace's journey of self-discovery becomes an inspiring and captivating exploration of identity and purpose.

The novel also shines through its well-crafted characters, who bring depth and emotional resonance to the narrative. Alongside Grace, a host of supporting characters enhance the story's richness, each with their own unique traits and motivations; the characters of Ben and Gideon were exceptionally well done. Harper expertly explores their relationships and challenges, inviting readers to form profound connections with the cast. The novel's fast-paced and action-packed plot also keeps readers engaged from beginning to end as they navigate the twists and turns of Grace's journey. The seamless integration of mythology, action, and romance creates a compelling tapestry that enhances the reading experience.

I also noticed that the novel draws parallels to Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments series, particularly in its exploration of mythology and religious ideas within a contemporary context. However, Harper adds a fresh perspective and intricate world-building that distinguishes their work. Through its thought-provoking themes, the novel encourages readers to question traditional beliefs and delve into complex ideas, such as the goodness and darkness of people, making it a rewarding and intellectually stimulating read.

With its blend of mythology, action, and self-discovery, it offers an exhilarating reading experience. The well-drawn characters, immersive setting, and exploration of the eternal battle between angels and demons through Grace's eyes make it a standout novel. Whether you're a fan of fantasy fiction or intrigued by reimagined mythological concepts, Marked for Grace is an excellent addition to your reading list, leaving you eagerly anticipating the next installment.

Grace just wants to live a normal life saving lives as a nurse but her job but seeing the souls of the dead really doesn't make her job any easier. Grace was gifted the ability of a Soul Seer at the age of 18, unfortunately Grace doesn't understand how to use her gift or what it means for her life.

Grace soon learn that Angels and Demons walk the earth and they each have a responsibility in regards to rendering souls. The Angel sect is lead by Ben who is a Nephilium (Angel/Human) and the Demon sect is lead by Gideon who is a Daemonium (Demon/Human). This is a secret that must not get out but the one person Grace trust above all others is her roommate Noah.

Noah was an amazing side character. He was open minded and payed attention to details. Being an unmarked Seer; Grace must have her blood tested to determine who's side she belong on. While waiting to get the test results Grace confides in Noah about Ben and Gideon who are both interested in her and his views and observation about her love triangle situation were spot on. Unfortunately, Grace didn't see things as Noah did.

Grace has a preconceived notion that Angels are Good and Demons are Evil. Grace saw things as Black and White. This is where Noah won my heart. Noah didn't Good versus Evil. He simply saw those who had to a duty to fulfill and those with an ulterior motives. He didn't see black & white. Noah saw the grey areas.

This story has a deeper meaning: 1). Things aren't always what they appear to be. 2) The Angels and Demons were in the flesh. Not in white robes, halos, horns and pitchforks. 3) You need to Dig deeper. Grace was hung up on the Angel and Demon aspect of everybody but she never took a deeper look at the human side of each individual.

The world Grace has been thrust into is riddled with Secrets, Betrayal as well as Pursuits for Power and Total Domination. Grace ignored a lot of red flags being hung up on titles which she soon realized was a mistake when and act of betrayal leaves her fighting for her life. Grace soon understood Noah's views on her situation. As Noah so eloquently reminded Grace, "The Devil Was Once An Angel"

This story ends on a Cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read book 2.

I LOVED this book! I’ve been on a bit of an angels & demons kick lately and this one was really, really good. Since it’s the first in the series it’s focusing mainly on the basics of the world building, Grace’s (our MFC) backstory (although, her background is still pretty mysterious by the end of the book), the basics of this whole new “I see dead people” world Grace has been thrust into, a mysterious “illness” that’s sweeping the city that no one can figure out, a breakaway faction of maybe not so good Nephilim. To be fair, we don’t really know what exactly they’re trying to ultimately achieve. Their methods certainly aren’t very nice, but to be honest, the whole heavenly Nephilim side always comes across as super douchey and self righteous, and they definitely are in this book to…so maybe the faction aren’t really bad guys, they just haven’t figured out a good way to go about achieving their goals yet?

Their is a VERY, VERY slow burn start to a romance (hopefully) in this book…we just have to sit through the painfully ill advised “relationship” that Grace embarks on with Ben, the Nephilim Sect Leader. Ben is 100% that “good guy” that’s actually a complete and total psychopath that controls every little detail of a relationship. He’s that emotionally, psychologically, and manipulatively abusive partner that looks perfect on the outside until you look closely…then you realize this guy is dangerous. As you can probably guess, I friggen HATE Ben. He reminded me so much of a few of the really crappy guys some of my friends dated. Thankfully Grace escaped his psychotic clutches before things went too far…though I definitely don’t see him giving her up that easily…especially not to Gideon…now Gideon I 110% Stan.

I like that this book really was just setting the foundation for everything and we really only got like two big questions answered (what Grace was and who betrayed her). There are so many unanswered questions that I’m dying to get my hands on book two. I’ve noticed that with a lot of multi book series I read, a majority of questions seem to be answered in book one. I like that that wasn’t the case here. I’m definitely hooked and can’t wait to see what happens next!

Thank you to KC Harper for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!

From the moment I read this, the first line had me hooked! ‘It was one thing to start at the dead, another entirely when they stared back’, it was such an intriguing first line that immediately pulls you in. You started questioning everything and just wanted to know much more about the main character, Grace Crawford.

Marked For Grace is the first novel in The Marked series and is an impressive debut to the series! It introduces the plot very well and introduces you to all the characters in a very well written fashion. So well in fact that I’m hooked and I want to read more about Grace and Gideon and Noah and Kyle!

The whole concept of the novel is intriguing and often reminds me a little of Twilight (think of that as you will). With the love triangle and the two different sides they can’t really communicate and don’t get it, it does have very Twilight - esque vibes so if you love Twilight go for this one!

I love the characters in this novel, both Gideon and Ben were very well written characters as well as love interests. Their contrast and their rivalry really made the plot more interesting.

One thing I wasn’t really keen on was seeing the main character as a trophy to flaunt. She was strong, she was enigmatic as a main character and she was being seen as a trophy instead of a strong female character. The two main guys were often objectifying the main character, which I wasn’t very happy with since it almost invalidates the strength of Grace.

Despite that, I did enjoy the plot and the whole concept of the novel. It’s fresh, it’s new and it was amazing to learn more about the world of the Marked series! I can’t wait to read more about this!

I’d recommend this to anyone who loves paranormal romance! And also to anyone who loves Twilight!

This is being published on March 7th 2023! Keep an eye out!

It is no myth that whatever is between Heaven and Hell is not any less than a raging war, one doomed to last for eternity. But who ever imagined this war is to be witnessed on real-ground, manifested through angels and demons hovering around with secrets only God — and the Shepherds — knew?

Stuck between the Nephilim and the Lesser Demons, Grace Crawfard's — or shall I say, Crys's — life has taken a sharp twist, for it is now that she's granted the opportunity for finding long-sought answers about her Sight. However, this is not the "easy-come easy-go" type of route; it was more of a maze, in which she got lost more the deeper she sauntered, with nothing more than "trusting her instincts" to guide her. Totally my type of books.

Everything about the story was blemishless. The characters were well-developed and felt so real, not a bit scripted or "dead" — well, except the actual dead. I loved Gideon and Noah the most, and if there's one thing these two share, apart from their unconditional care for Grace, it is that light-hearted humor they possess (which I very much liked).

I had that fishy feeling about Ben since the very beginning; he was too desperate and clingy and selfish and obsessed I wished knocking off some teeth. Though I don't blame him for loathing Gideon that much — he had every reason to see Gideon as a threat, and I adored that war going on between them two. As for who's side I'm on, there ain't no way I'm defying demon-boy — he's justtttttttt my type, for God's sake.

The story was weaved with an air of mystery, ignited with a flame of action that kept me on edge, unable to put it down. Finding out the identity of Thirty Seven got me screaming, and with such an ending... I feel more like a Forsaken burning in the deepest of hells as I wait for the sequel!

This is one book I fell in love with from just the cover, and it rewarded me even better with its plot. You wouldn't help but despise the Nephilim after reading this (sorry, but not all angels are aneglic, after all).

I'm losing my mind at the thought of this book being over! Don't know if I'll make it until book two comes out 😭💔 Kelly EXCELS at writing villains! She KNOWS how to write morally grey MMCs! She freaking MASTERS the art of suspense!!! And I was simply and utterly BLOWN AWAY by her debut! Fans of Gothikana by Runyx and the Fallen series by Lauren Kate will definitely OBSESS over this one, just like I did! 😭❤🔥

Gideon has my heart and can do with it whatever he pleases! That man was EVERYTHING I LOVE in a male character 😫❤ his sarcasm, his devil may care smiles, his protective side over Grace and the special nickname he gave her!!! 😫😫😫❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥I cannot find the right words to describe him, y'all! He was PERFECT 😍🔥👌 we also had a "Get the F away from her!" scene so, need I say more?

Grace was such an amazing FMC ❤ I cannot wait to see the development done on her character! She was a bit too naïve, but I cannot blame her because I used to be like her back in the days 😏 It was SO SATISFYING to see her finally realize the toxic situation she'd put herself into, and even more so to speak up about what didn't sit right with her aloud! I just LOVE it when the FMC finally acts up on her instincts and owns her power 😍🔥

There was a twisted character that absolutely made my blood BOIL! And all I can say about him and the filthy traitor is that I hope both their ends will be dąmñ SPECTACULAR! 😎🔥now let me tell you about the tropes :
- Touch her and D!Ē (because...DUH!)
- Hates everyone but HER! 😍
- Morally Grey MMC
- LOTS of banter and sarcasm! 🤣❤

I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book!

What if the dead hunted you? I found the book description really interesting and was excited to read this story. I loved both Grace and Gideons characters I found the dialogue and interactions between them to be really enjoyable to read and I often found myself smiling as I read them likewise with Grace and Noah. I hated Bens character pretty much from the start and found some of the parts with him in made me uncomfortable (not a bad thing just an observation ) his character was very well written and it inspired the reaction in me that was intended from the plot. This book also had a lot of really fun secondary characters but not too many to make things confusing. Although most of the book is from Graces pov I liked that we also got a few chapters by both Ben and Gideons pov and the edition of the three chapters from thirty sevens pov I found helped to add intrigue and give a another point of view to the story line. I liked the pacing of the plot and the plot its self had plenty going on to keep me interested. I am already really looking forward to the next book in this series as it did end of a cliffhanger and I want to no what will happen to Grace next lol.

I did appreciate that the Author added a link to their website so you could check the contents warnings of this book it you wanted to before reading.

I haven’t read a book like this before, but was very interested just from the first chapter. When Grace turned 18 & also after an accident she began having “the sight”, she could see markings on people that others could not. Eventually when she started her job as a nurse at a hospital a doctor there named Rohan started noticing something about her & contacted the Shepherds. They confirmed that she did indeed have the sight, but were unsure of how she went this long without being found or even what side she belonged too. In the mean time she spent time with either side learning their calling & getting to know the Sect. Leaders. That’s where things became very interesting & I became even more invested in what was happening to cause an outbreak that was killing people. This book will keep you on your toes, but also have you looking in all different directions. I loved Ben in the beginning, but he ruined that towards the end with what he was hiding just to keep her. Hate to say it but Gideon is probably my favorite, I loved his personality & his flirtation towards his “Chrystal”, I also feel like you can trust him better than the others & that’s pretty messed up when you think about it. Overall I loved the storyline & learning through out the book about what the others saw. Definitely can’t wait to see what’s next in the series!

ARC from Author - No spoilers, Bk1 The Marked series with cliffhanger ending
Urban Fantasy, MF, Paranormal romance, Demons, Nephilim, LGBTQ Slow burn and Multi POV
***CW Profanity, Sex, Abuse, Violence, Death, Drugs & Alcohol, and Blood & Gore***

Grace can see the dead and shares her secret with her ''no matter what'' bestie Noah but secrets have a way of being discovered.
Heaven and Hell's earthly representatives need to know who she is and where she stands.
Gideon and Ben, opposing Leaders, competitive and charismatic both set their sights on Grace with dire consequences.

Opening line reeled me in and kept me hooked til the very last and I cannot wait for the next installment.
Urban fantasy my first addiction and this feeds that sooo well.
The characters are so relatable, the plot so engrossing that the time goes by and before you know it, your World outside is asleep and you are shouting out loud ''Noooooo'' because the book ends and on a cliffhanger!

It was tense, had mystery, plot, sub plots, sexual tension, warring factions, questions, answers and more questions and your emotions ride the roller coaster along side.
Superbly written first book in this new series, the Art work piqued my interest but Grace's story has me captivated me; loved it!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow - I honestly had no expectations, but I am OBSESSED. I need the sequel ASAP. I have been thinking about it for days, and honestly I am still deconstructing every piece of it.

The writing was fantastic, it was easy to slip in the world and be completely immersed in it. Great worldbuilding. It kind of reminded me of the Shadowhunters universe, the Nephlim, just similar vibes.

I enjoyed all the characters, and can't wait to see more of them in the next book. The relationship between Grace and Noah, loveeee them. Ben, the angelic "golden boy," and Gideon, the half demon "bad boy," are perfect as dual love interests (ya'll know whose the better one right). THE SEXUAL TENSION between Grace and one of her love interests (read to find out friends) was electric, I am obbsessed.

This book has everything, a bit of mystery, some suspense, some crazy twists, slow burn romance, found family, angels and demons (drool ** GIDEON**), a hidden past, and some hot hot steam!

I really enjoyed this novel. The blurb intrigued me and as soon as I picked up Marked for Grace, I couldn't put it down.
If it wasn't for sleep I would have finished this novel in a day.

I thought the writing style was great and it easily flowed, we got enough descriptiveness to know what was happening and the characters felt real.
The chapters flowed between Grace, Ben, Gideon and Thirty-Seven. Even the flow of the chapters was easy to keep up with.

Grace is a likeable character, she's relatable. She's thrown into a world she didn't know existed but she had to have her answers.
She either belonged to the Nephilim or the demons.
Among the battle is the battle between half angel Ben and hot as hell Gideon over Grace. And all I'm saying on that is I'm definitely team Gideon!

Thirty-Seven is an alias and I'm shocked at who it is. I never guessed that person at all so I really enjoyed that twist.

I'm really excited for book 2 I need more. I have to see how it all pans out.

Thank you to K.C.Harper for the E-ARC. My review is based on my honest opinion.

I received this book as an early reviewer, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was caught on the first page, all the way through to the end. I believe this is the author’s first novel, and what a great way to start! This is the first book in a planned series, and after finishing “Marked By Grace,” I am impatiently waiting for the next book. The main character, Grace, has a gift - she can see the spirits of the dead. She does not know how or why she can suddenly see them, but when she is taken by the Nephilim and exposed to their world, she has to make a choice, while deciding who to trust - Gideon, a leader of the Dark Seraphim, or Ben, a leader of the Nephilim; light or dark, Heaven or Hell. Without having any answers about herself or her family, she tries to run from them, but finds herself drawn deeper into the battle between good and evil, and conspiracies behind the scenes as she seeks answers and tries to save lives. The book is a quick read (you won't want to put it down). I highly recommend it!

If you are looking for a book with a bit of everything - angels and demons, simmering slow burn romance, a sweet but feisty heroine (who is NOT afraid to deliver a swift kick to the balls if she has to), mystery, suspense, and the absolute most precious cinnamon bun best friend named Noah - look no further. Harper has crafted a page turner. Her characters are vibrant, funny and interesting (even the ones you want to punch) and her pacing is superb; you won't want to put this down. I would be entirely remis not to mention the sheer amount of smoldering hotness that is the romance. Grace is torn between Ben - the golden boy who hides more than a glimmer of darkness beneath his angelic exterior - and Gideon - a tall dark and handsome rich AF part-demon who I would like to clone and keep for myself, thank you v. much. With a tightly crafted mystery at it's center, this was a wild ride from start to finish. I absolutely cannot wait to read the rest of this story. Sequels now, please!

If you like fast-paced, intriguing fantasy reads with twists and turns, add Marked for Grace to your TBR! The storyline had me flying through the pages to find out what happens next.

Grace finds herself caught between Heaven and Hell as one with unique Sight. Ever since the tragic accident, she can see the souls of those who have passed. She thought she was the only one, but she's not. It's a closely monitored secret as the Shepherds send souls to their final destination. And now they've found her. As an 'unmarked', Grace must choose - become a Shepherd or lose her life. Grace is questioning everything she knows about her life. Who was she? Which side did she belong on? If her mother was a part of this world, why would she hide Grace? Now Grace is the only one who can see a new mark upon the souls. The mark is threatening the lives of everyone she knows as it's claiming more and more people. She's going to need help but who can she trust?

✔️ Hidden past
✔️ Angels & demons
✔️ Mystery & suspense
✔️ Secrets and betrayal
✔️ Multiple POV
✔️ Slow-burn romance

So many questions! I loved the suspense and mystery of Marked for Grace. This book was very well-written and engaging. I really enjoyed the multiple points of view, even getting a few chapters from the villain. Gideon is definitely my favorite lol. I loved the sarcastic and witty banter. Overall, this is a great debut novel and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

“It was one thing to stare at the dead, another entirely when they stared back.”

From the very first sentence marked for Grace called me in, and did not let me go! KC Harper, did an amazing job at creating war between Heaven and Hell and putting Grace smack in the middle. She gives us giggle inducing, innuendo banter from our touch-her-and-unalive MMC while leaving you so much swooning over the sweetness of our other MMC.

Grace is caught between Nephilim and lesser demons when she realizes that the dead are now coming after humans. I could not put this book down, the transitions between chapters, the unknown, POV, and the hilarious banter that the side character Noah (Grace’s best friend) brings sold me completely. I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I’ll keep my review short with this. If you thought for just a second that this book was for you, it is! I cannot wait to see what else happens with Gideon, Grace, and Noah

Firstly, I am always up for a good vs evil story set among Nephilim and the seed of demons! It is such an intriguing concept to me, and Harper did justice in showing the complexities of each side until you weren’t even sure who to trust. The half-demon Gideon is beautifully gray in his morals, and Grace’s torn feelings between him and the Nephilim, Ben, are all understandable.

The varying character relationship dynamics were so well executed, there was never a character who fell flat. Like many of the other reviewers, I did not care for Ben—which was an intended feeling from the author, so well done. I did feel like because we get a distaste for him so early on that it made some of the “will-they-won’t-they” lose steam. Still, I enjoyed the read and cheered every time Gideon came back on scene!

Thank you K.C. Harper for giving me a chance to read the ARC for this book in exchange for an honest review!

🩵 E-ARC Review 🩵

🩵 Angels & Demons
🩵 Love Triangle
🩵 Slow Burn
🩵 Betrayals & Deceit

Let me start by saying this was my first arc in a very long time, and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to be part of the team! So thank you.

This was riveting from the start. Great world and background build, setting was spectacular. I really felt for Grace as her word had literally been turned upside down. There was so much that I wanted answers to that I struggled to put this down.
I had theories constantly popping into my head and loved how it all fell into place.

I'll admit I was team Gideon from the start, I just wasn't getting the right vibes from Ben, and boy was my gut proved right 😅 gotta love a Demon-boy!

Overall, it was a fantastic piece of writing, I think this is actually the best paranormal romance I've read. I'll be looking out for the next book in the series for sure!

Marked for Grace is a whole journey. Definitely a highlight of my reading year thus far.

Grace sees souls, but then she finds out she’s not alone. Soon she finds herself learning the ropes from an Angel and a Demon, and her blood will determine the side she ultimately ends up on. With great found family elements, morally grey characters, the battle between angels and demons, men with unwavering interest in the FMC, and some pretty significant twists, Marked for Grace was riveting. Good and evil definitely had a role here and the line of demarcation isn’t always between angels and demons.

The multiple POV aspect gave insight into characters and situations that added to the intrigue. This story was fast-paced and hard to put down. Truly enjoyable – I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Special thanks to the author for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.

This one took me a moment or two to get into – and I don’t mean that it is badly written or anything, it was more due to a déjà vu feeling. I felt like I had read this story before, and it was playing on my mind for a few chapters there.

Once I got further into it though, I enjoyed it more. I love Noah, the main female character’s ‘Ride or Die’ bestie for life. I was instantly drawn to him and to Gideon. Sweet, devilish Gideon. Be still, my racing heart.

I have many questions now that I have finished book one and know that no matter what, I’m going to need to read the entire series, even with a part of me still feeling a little déjà vu-ey.

This is an urban fantasy, paranormal, slow burn, multi POV story with many triggers, and a cliffhanger ending.

4 / 5 ⭐

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What an amazing first book!
It reads really easy and I quickly became invested in the story and liked the characters.
I loved the friendship between Grace & Noah! Found family ✔️
Grace slowly learns more about this new side of the world that she never knew about before and it's fun being on the ride with her while also having a mystery that needs to be solved.
I have always liked books with Nephlim in them and so this book was kinda like a new adult Shadowhunters (which is my favorite fantasy world) but this one is better for me now because I'm also older now. I cannot wait to see what happens next!!
There are so many more things I want to say but I don't want to spoil anything so all I'll say is READ IT!!! 😍
