The Nine Births of Carnage

The Nine have finally accomplished their goal. With the Academy on the run and KI in their ranks, they have everything they need to awaken the demon inside and resurrect their lost companion. But just because the Academy failed its mission doesn’t mean they’ve given up.
Fox Fire and Lieutenant Diaz are determined to find the boy and return him home. But that’s easier said than done. Over half of their team has been eliminated, and the ones left are dejected and discouraged. Diaz has a choice to make, return to Babel for backup or continue North. Her only concern is KI… She isn’t strong enough to fight the demon lords who hold them hostage, but she is smart enough to delay their Birthing ritual. How long can she derail their plans? This installment in the Cross Academy series gets a little darker and more adult than the previous titles as we get closer to the impending showdown between light and dark.
Elaine does a great job in this one of showing how things may not always look so black and white and the line between Light and Dark isn't always clear cut. We see characters on both sides begin to struggle with this within themselves and how that struggle affects their choices.

This book is more darker than the rest but i amazed how Elaine interpreted the spiritual warfare and the sources of darkness in the hearts of some characters but at the end they need light, so full of back stories and revelations and cant wait to read book 4.
