From USA Today bestselling author Sav R. Miller comes a dark and suspenseful romance inspired by the myths of Echo and Pan.
Kissing a masked stranger wasn’t on Violet Artinos’s list of things she thought would happen at her cousin’s political fundraiser. In fact, her plan was simply to show support, win back the ex-boyfriend rumored to be in attendance, and go on with her off-grid life.
She never would’ve made a move on the stranger if she’d known he wasn’t who she thought, but her ex’s younger brother had other plans.
Out in public for the first time in weeks, Professor Grayson James has his sights set on revenge. When he spots Violet, he immediately ropes her into his plot by kissing and blackmailing her to live at his haunted estate.
He claims it’ll drive his brother mad, but the truth turns out to be more complicated than they ever imagined. Suddenly, Violet’s life of secrets is unraveling at the hands of a dark, depraved man who seems to have no intentions of letting her go.
But his obsession might be exactly what puts her in danger.
Liars and Liaisons is the sixth and final interconnected standalone in the Monsters & Muses series. It is a dark romance inspired by the Pan and Echo myths and contains material that may not be suitable for all audiences. Reader discretion is advised.

"I've never had a muse before, but I know better than to let her escape now that she's here."
In this dark romance retelling of Pan and Echo, Grayson James is a musical genius. A secluded musical genius who lives in a far off mansion. A mansion that has a presence that he can't quite put his finger on. All his life, he strived for perfection but then Sydney happened and the music was gone. So what happens when he meets Violet and that music comes back? There is only one problem. Violet belongs to Nate. His brother Nate, or so he thought...
Violet needs help. She needs money. And she wants Nate back. She wants to be happy again. So when the secluded Professor Grayson James offers her a large sum of money to be his "maid" and "nanny", what can she do other than accept...
"...Craving her even though it's wrong. She's his, and I don't five a shit. I'll make her mine whether she wants to be or not"
Ok, ok, ok, ok. People, Grayson James. Grayson MF James. Talk about a hot professor ok. This man is obsessed!!! As a music theory student, I loved everything about this book. I mean talk about possessive am I right?
And Violet. Ugh I have wanted her book since Promises and Pomegranates. And she is that girl let me tell you.
I loved the Monsters and Muses series. Each and every book Sav. puts out is a banger and this did not disappoint! I cried a lot during this book. I was so sad it was ending but I loved every moment of it. Think Smutty horror movie vibes with a pinch of music theory. You have this book.
I am so sad to see this series end but I cannot wait for their kids series. We all know Kal is going to be a very protective daddy ;)
"Let Nathaniel try to claim you again when you've got my baby in your belly; I'd peel the skin from his bones and use them as toothpicks."
Tropes: - Dark Romance - Retelling of Pan and Echo - Ex-boyfriends Younger Brother - MMC falls first - Musical professor - Secluded mansion - Touch her and I'll kill you vibes - Grumpy X Sunshine - Age gap
Absolutely heartbroken that this series is over, one of my favourite book series for sure 🥺🫶🏽 Sav’s writing has also come on so much, the whole series is written well but this book was BEAUTIFULLY written!
This story follows Violet who finds herself entering a mutually beneficial deal to move into Graysons estate (granted she was lowkey blackmailed but we move) where the mansion is haunted, Grayson never leaves his room, and throws parties where people go missing It was giving a very very dark beauty & the beast kind of vibe
This was definitely on the darker side out of the 5 books on par with promises & pomegranates and I absolutely loved it! It was haunting, mysterious, intimidating, and just so deliciously dark! Grayson James was absolute perfection, so ominous and brooding, unhinged, sexy ughhh she writes the best morally grey mmc’s!!! Didn’t really connect with Violets character as much as I have other fmc’s in this series like Cora and Lenny BUT she was likeable and was glad to finally get her story
And don’t even get me started on the that scene where he chases her through the sunflower fields in my mind RENT FREE FOREVER 😮💨
I loved seeing all the characters from the other books woven into the story and having them all back, I’m going to miss this series 🫶🏽
“She’s the volatile sort of sunshine—the implosion before the world ceases to exist. And she’s aiming destruction right at me.” Liars and Liaisons, Sav. Miller
—dark romance —6th book —ex boyfriends younger brother —twist at end
Sav. Miller really knows how to kick it up a notch with her dark romances, especially this series. Each couple in Monsters and Muses is so different and unique and the spice is always unique as well. I love that she does that and I love that she wrote Grayson and Violet as unique as she wrote her other characters.
Grayson hires Violet as a “nanny” to himself to keep him company because he intrigued by her. Well not only that, but he is plotting something against his older brother who happens to be Violet’s ex boyfriend. And Violet agrees. Secluded in a mansion, tension fills the air, lines are blurred, and hot dirty spice is in play.
Liars and Liaisons was dirty, it was dark, it was sexy and twisted. This 6th installment had me turning the page for more with each chapter and it was a wild ride from start to finish.
I did give it 3.75 ⭐️ for a few reasons. One being the dirty talk, it was not my cup of tea 75% of the time. Some of it was okay but most of it just really made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Two, the twist at the end was yes shocking, but also, a bit weird? I don’t want to spoil, but I wish there was more to it then the reasoning for everything, if that makes sense.
I do highly recommend this series and this book if you’re in the mood for dark romance with twists, dirty talk, and unique storylines. Sav. Miller really knows how to draw a reader in and keep them hooked from start to finish. And Liars and Liaisons was not exception.
The final book in the Monsters and Muses series ended with a bang. This book was much darker and much more suspenseful than anything else in the series. I’m a fan of the author’s writing style and Miller very much delivered in this novel. She absolutely captured the essence of mysterious mansion. This can be read as a stand alone, but since it is the last book in the series and previous characters in the prior books show up. I absolutely recommend reading the previous books before this one. As I stated before, this book is most definitely the darkest in the series. If you are interested in reading it, check the trigger warnings. There is some graphic scenes including dub-con that should be considered before reading.
The story is based off Pan and Echo but there is definitely a lot of Beauty and Beast elements.
Grayson, has me lost for words. I think he might be the most unhinged MMC yet in the series. He’s cold and withdrawn. He is driven by revenge and hatred of his family. Often hiding behind a mask, and isolated from society. Although, Grayson very much gives “It’s not creepy if he is hot.” (Tbh, that sums up every MMC in this series though, he just takes it to the next level.)
Violet, I was actually interested to see her get a story as she has been a side character for a bit in the series. Violet was the ray of light. The sunshine to Grayson’s dark skies. Grayson’s muse. She is probably the most innocent FMC yet. Because she doesn’t have a dark past and before meeting Grayson her only real connection to the dark figures in her life was Kal and Cora. Grayson was the push for her to indulge in the darkness in herself.
I think it’s what makes their dynamic so interesting because what polar opposites they are. Her innocent light and his dark brooding nature.
I will say, Violet really a turned a blind eye to what Grayson did in the beginning when she realized the truth. I don’t think there was much acknowledgment as there should be of what he did to her. It felt as if it was just pushed to the side.
There was whole subplot with Violet’s dad that felt kind of confusing and maybe even poorly executed. For so much of the beginning, Violet just refers it as the “debt collectors.” And then, we finally get a name of the Mafia family that is demanding the debt. I felt like the family name should have been dropped early on. Instead of later in the book, so I wasn’t searching back trying to figure out who exactly this family was.
Also Cora gets a call that Violet’s dad is in prison. (When he wasn’t.) Why did Cora get the call? If he wasn’t in prison, who called Cora? A lot could been explained about the whole Prison idea.
There was a chase sequence inside the house-honestly that was difficult to visualize. I had a hard time imagining where exactly the characters were.
Grayson’s reasoning for throwing the parties and the killings was for Sydney. He briefly explains about their connection to Sydney. But all those people- seems a little far fetched.
Although I absolutely loved the banter between Kal and Grayson. The standoffish energy between the two was actually pretty amusing.
The smut- hoo boy. Major masked kink. Definitely some blood play. Honestly Grayson was quite kinky but patient with Violet. They both had hot chemistry. I liked that Grayson was accommodating to Violet and his patience for both willing to explore was nice. Miller always delivers in her sex scenes.
There was a lot of twists that actually had my jaw dropped. I didn’t see it coming. I think how dark and gritty this book went was also a very big shock to me.
The epilogue was really sweet and I’m really glad we got to see all the characters from the previous books in it. It was perfect. Just the right way to end the series.
Overall, it was a great way to end the series. However, Souls and Sorrows is still my favorite (Cash and Ariana still my fav couple) in the series. I’ll look forward to reading the next generation in the new series.
This is a lot to take, but it's a good one, though.
Grayson (36), is a talented composer and professor. But one of his students (Sydney) "died" when he set her up to be promoted by his family label. He felt guilty for what happened to her and has taken a sabbatical leave from teaching.
He stayed in his grandfather's mansion and has been throwing raging parties weekly in a form of revenge on those people who contributed to the death of Sydney. But mainly the target of his revenge is his brother Nate and his father.
When Grayson's brother, Nate, visited to convince him to go back to his job and to stop hiding, he was pissed about his interference and decided to kick him out of his house. When Nate's about to leave, Violet, his then girlfriend, jumped out of the car to hug and kiss him. Grayson saw this and got fascinated with Violet, and then he planned on using her to get back at Nate.
Violet (25), is debt-ridden because of her father's gambling debt. She wasn't able to finish college because she couldn't take any more loans. She was the sister of Kal (MMC from Book 1). By trying to be loyal to her mom, she kept pushing away Kal and all of his efforts to get to know her. She wants to know him too, but he is the reminder of her father's infidelity, and she thinks that connecting with him would hurt her mom along the way. Tbh, Kal could've solved her debt problems if she had only asked, but then again, they weren't really close, and if he helped, her mom would find out.
So to the part where Grayson and Violet's paths crossed again. They attended a masquerade party, and Violet wandered around and ended up in a room where a ménage à trois was currently happening. She got spooked, and when she was about to walk away, a masked man told her she shouldn't even be in that room. She looked at the guy and thought that it was Nate then she kissed the masked man (by this time around, Nate had ghosted her, and she wanted to try to win him back).
It turns out the man was Grayson, and he was aware that the girl who kissed him was Violet. He cannot get her out of his mind even weeks after he saw her, and this kiss made his need for her even more intense. He decided to drug her and to spend the night with her (he didn't do anything with her, they only slept).
The next morning when she woke up, Violet thought that she lost her v-card to Nate and was shocked to see Grayson instead. And this is how Grayson blackmailed Violet into staying with him, in the guise of being his nanny.
For the first part of the book, she still wanted to get back to Nate even though she was developing attraction to Grayson. For the life of me, I couldn't understand how she could want Nate when she's lusting after Grayson and already doing some stuff with him.
But Grayson was persistent and obsessed with Violet, and he couldn't let her get back to his brother, so he went to do a lot of things to manipulate her and to eventually make her fall for him.
In the second part of the book, Nate showed his true colors and even threatened Violet to kill her and her family if she didn't stay away from Grayson. Not because he's in love with her, but mostly, I think, for ego stroking and hurt pride. He couldn't understand why she left him for his brother. Idk why he's acting this way when he was the one who ghosted her. But this didn't scare Violet and made her see that she was right for not getting back with him.
Anyway, Grayson and Violet were hot together. She was inexperienced, but this didn't stop her from doing and exploring a lot of stuff with him. And Grayson is very much happy to oblige with all of her requests.
There were a lot of twists and triggering events at the end of the book. To say Grayson's family is unhinged is a freaking understatement; the things they did made me slack-jawed. The horrible things they did really surprised me, and I'm not sure if that's a good or bad surprise. Things I actually did not see coming but shocked and wowed me nonetheless. The cameo of the characters from the other books added a nice touch too, and I think this is a great ending for the series. Overall, I had fun reading this, and I'm excited to read the second generation.
Safety warnings: - No cheating - OM drama (Nate) - No OW drama - Violence, gruesome death - Child abandonment - Mentioned parents' death
Additional info: - Grayson was a manwhore before, but after Sydney's death, he stayed away from everyone and had been celibate for 1 year when he met Violet. - Violet is a virgin even though she dated Nate. She didn't consider doing it with him when they were together, but when he ghosted her, she was more than willing to give it to Nate just for him to take her back. 🤷♀️

The more I thought about it, the more this was a 4 star read for me - I wanted to love this book as I love a good forbidden romance, but there were a few things that I struggled with - and still struggle with a few days later. But let's address what I did love:
- Grayson is incredibly unhinged while saying the most dirty, poetic things - Violet is a freaking badass - The spice, hot dang - I loved the cameos from the other M&M characters
Now to get to what I didn't like: - The pacing. We spent the first 60% building up this mystery around Grayson and the mansion, but then the ending left me a bit unsatisfied. - The MMC does incredibly insane things in the name of revenge but it's never fully explained why he made those choices for his revenge.
Overall, this sits right in the middle for me as far as the M&M series, but still a fantastic conclusion nevertheless.
ONE THING ABOUT SAV…. IF SHE SAYS SHE’S GONNA DELIVER……. SHE GONNA DO IT.
ME RN: 😭🤯🫠🥵😮💨🫨🤪🙃🫢🫡
Holy. Fucking. Shit. Those three words are LIVING in my mind and I can’t even figure out proper words to describe everything I just read. Oh. My. God.
*deep breath* okay, I’m ready.
L&L is by far the darkest, most suspenseful book out of the Monsters and Muses series, and it ATE. HARD. I didn’t realize HOW much I needed the suspense until I read it because IT DID NOT MISS. It made the book THAT much better. I couldn’t put this masterpiece down until it was finished and I swear my heart was racing through the whole ass book.
Grayson. Grayson. Grayson. How beautifully written this man was. Our mans is absolutely UNHINGED and I promise, y’all ain’t ready for it. Loved the take on music haunting him and how he couldn’t create music anymore without his ✨muse✨ - everything dark and twisty about our mans is depicted so perfectly. Everything about him. The piano scene? The sunflower field scene? OOOF. 🫡😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 I loved seeing how DARK he was; one I don’t think we’ve seen in the other M+M boys (obviiiii they’re still dark and twisty), but Sav really took him to the next level.
And Violet. GAH. I’ve been waiting for her for so long and I absolutely loved, loved, LOVED her. Her own little dark and twisty RUINED me. Hearing the story from her perspective makes me sad, knowing what she had to risk in order to take on responsibilities that weren’t hers to carry. Pushing Kal away, keeping people at a distance. The stress, fear, and constant looking over her shoulder….. wow. Her perspective ties the series together PERFECTLY. Her constant resistance with Grayson was a personal favorite and I needed that tension between them. They are soulmates, without a doubt. She is his muse and he is her monster. ABSOLUTELY FERAL FOR THEM.
This book was absolutely UNMATCHED.
The PLOT TWISTS? THE CAMEOS? THE EPILOGUE? THE END OF AN ERA????? Absolutely, absolutely incredible and well done. I cannot wait to see what Sav does next.
~*thank you SO much to Sav and ValentinePR for the Arc*~
I cannot wait for you all to get your hands on this one.
The best of the series. 😭 It’s true. I was a bit worried after my thoughts on S&S (book5) but this one knocked my socks off.
The twists and turns kept me on my toes, I didn’t know what was going to happen until it slapped me upside the head and laughed at my tears. The plot was very well put together. Both characters kept some intrigue and secrets from each other and the readers but not enough where we were confused or annoyed for long.
The relationship. Hot diggity dawg. Sign me tf up. Grayson (MMC) was passionate but subtle? Idk how to explain it but 🧎♀️. And his lust for Violet (FMC) made me wanna clutch my pearls all while bookmarking every smutty scene 👀.
Violet was just a joy to read. Absolutely thrilled every time I was in her POVs tbh. Her joy in the small things. Her human mistakes, her selflessness, but her utter raw feminine rage is powerfullllll 🤌🏻.
Sigh. Sad that this series is over but excited to see what the next generation in this universe brings. I wonder if we’ll get any update on Stella (Elena and Arianna’s sis).
“There’s nothing she could do that would make me stop loving her. It’s … instinctual. My soul is bound to hers.” Even if she doesn’t exactly know it. “I’d be content to just exist in her orbit.”
holy shit did this book have me in an absolute chokehold the entire time. mostly because you spend pretty much the entire book insanely confused, trying to figure out why the actual fuck everyone is acting like that LMAO but also simply because it is SO well written.
i actually got a little nervous going into my read because i loved souls & sorrows/cash & ariana so much and panicked thinking that maybe i’d end up trying to compare them or whatever but let me tell you mr. grayson james certainly and with efficiency made me forget all about cash for a bit 😂
one of my favorite things about this book was all of the cameos from past characters, in the midst of all the chaos it was super comforting to be able to see where they were at in their HEAs.
the level of unhinged that is grayson james is actually bonkers and the fact that you WILL find him extremely hot is going to be pretty alarming. you’re going to want to smack violet upside the head a few times here and there but you will absolutely love her want grayson to burn the world for her. the twist and turns are going to have you pretty shocked and thinking “i am a dummy i shouldve seen this coming”. you WILL look at sunflower fields differently.
while i am super sad monsters & muses has come to an end it quite literally and figuratively goes out with a bang. you will not want to skip out on reading this final installment trust me
I said I’d be good, and if being good is what makes that fucking sound come from her, then I’ll be the best damn boy she’s ever encountered.
Only men in books *sighs*
“If I asked you for a million dollars right now, would you give it to me?” “In this very moment, I would give you whatever you desired.” He moves closer, reaching for one of the thin straps of my bra, and slips it down a shoulder. “I might even beg.” “Just to taste me?” “For the privilege.”
My man worshipped this woman oh lord when will it be me?
Everything is gray, or it’s Violet—there is no other option.
Love love love!! 😍 I could not stop reading. I’ll be honest, I was a bit worried for this one as Souls & Sorrows (book 5) is my least favorite in the series but this did not miss! Grayson is a total red flag and my new book boyfriend. 😏 There's just something about unhinged men.
The plot twist was insane! I did not see it coming at all. I was so curious on how everything related to *that* would wrap up and it was done SO WELL. i'm speechless. I feel so bad for Grayson and how it affected him for so long. This whole book was crazy, in the best way!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
*I received an ARC of this book (thank you Valentine PR) and am voluntarily leaving a review with my honest opinion.*
Liars and Liaisons is a dark, contemporary romance inspired by myths of Pan and Echo. We get to know Violet, Kal’s half sister and Grayson, Aiden’s half Uncle. Violet was in a relationship with Nate, Grayson brother, but he ghosted her after a few months of dating and she’s on a mission to get him back. Grayson is in search of a muses and Violet is the perfect distraction. The James’ boys definitely are unhinged but the words they use will bring you to your knees. The scene, plot twist, cameos snd epilogue was perfect was to end this series!
TW/tropes
Age gap (36H/25h), DubCon, Blood play, Murder, Violence, Drug and alcohol abuse, Child abuse, Sexual assault (on-page) Child loss (off-page, briefly mentioned), Addiction, grumpy/sunshine, forbidden, MMC falls first
4.75⭐️ I was utterly obsessed with Grayson and Violet. Sav had done a remarkable job in creating a gripping, complicated yet cohesive storyline for our couple. The sixth and final instalment of the Monsters and Muses series was a grumpy / sunshine, boy obsessed, forced proximity, dark romance inspired by the myth of Pan and Echo.
We had known Violet from the start and watched her push away her brother Kal. Despite struggling with money, she rejected his help not wanting to get involved in the darkness on Alpana Island. When she met Grayson at a party looking to rekindle her relationship with his older brother Nate, he presented her an offer that was too good to turn down, so she accepted. She soon found herself caged in a haunted mountainside estate filled with secrets, betrayal and ominosity.
Coming from a family of exemplary music talents, Grayson was passionate and gifted at what he did. When he lost his muse, his career took a dive. He promised to get back at the people who murdered her. Violet was meant to be a pawn, a part of his plan to take down his family. Except once he had a taste, he could never let her go.
Their sexual chemistry was evident and when things got steamy, ooh-la-la it was a blast. Y’all this unhinged, twisted and filthy man knew what he was doing. Our girl Violet was soft and tender, but she too had a twisted side. She transformed into a sassy vixen and gave as good as she got. They complement each other so well, like a perfect harmony.
Everything was very well-thought-out, questions were answered and loose ends were tied. I loved how this book was not only about Grayson and Violet but also how their roles connected with other characters in the universe. It was bittersweet that their book marked the end of this amazing series but what an epic ride it had been. I could not have asked for a better ending for our favourite characters.
“my soul is bound to hers. i’d be content to just exist in her orbit.” ♡₊˚
uuuggghhhh i am so sad that this series is over :( this has quickly become one of my all time favorites, and i look forward to the new installments every year. this book was phenomenal, as they always are. i love sav r miller’s writing so much, it’s lowkey inspiring as someone who wants to write as well. i love the relationships and the progression and the plots are always so interesting. absolutely loved violet and grayson, they were such a good couple and ugh. i loved this! very interested to see where the new series goes!!
rip Micah - I don't know if my tolerance for dark romance things gruesome and gory has weakened, but that scene got my stomach churning
I wanted to love this book so bad considering the last few in the series were such hits for me but this one missed the mark. There was no romantic justification or reason for the MC's to like each other, Grayson just wanted her because he saw her with his brother and randomly becomes obsessed and Violet? ms girl just got stockholm syndromed by this rando who "took her" virginity 💀 and then forced her into coming to work/live with him Also, how would you not be able to tell if you lost it or not... Besides that, her dad's gambling debt storyline wasn't resolved or where he went revealed (jail/vacation?). Maybe it was and I missed it 🤷🏻♀️ because not gonna lie, towards the end of this novel I was skimming because I didn't understand wtf was happening
All in all, the romance aspect wasn't there and the plot twist unsatisfying so this book fell flat for me 👎

audiobook reread March 2025 3.5⭐️ my thoughts on this one actually goes down for this one.
It's actually rather toxic in some ways. Pretending they slept with each other and making her feel like she lost something to Grayson when she wanted to give it someone else. And there's the whole thing with Nate....

This actually got dark the further you get into this!

I think this was the darkest out of the series! It was morbid and full of gore by the end.
this book was the best book in this ENTIRE series! i absolutely ate this book up. this was the darkest and most suspenseful book of the series and i absolutely loved how plot-driven this story was. i couldn’t not put this book down: between the tension, the mystery and suspense, and the characters i was hooked from the beginning. grayson was definitely the most twisted mmc in the monsters and muses series (which says a lot because MANY of those men are twisted, but grayson takes it to a whole new level). i loved the take on music with him. the piano scene? the sunflower scene? 😮💨 and i absolutely loved violet. i felt like her perspective really tied everything in the series together into a happy little bow. i loved her dark and twisty storyline and how dark she was. the tension and angst between her and grayson was so so perfect. the plot twists, the cameos, and the epilogue were perfection. what an end to an era!
“if this is what wrong feels like, i don’t want to be right ever again.”
Move over Kal Anderson and all the other M&M men… Grayson James has entered the chat 👀
I didn’t really think Sav could get any more unhinged with the men in this series but alas here we are. What’s great though is Grayson is so nonchalant about certain things and your just like 😅 ummm Grayson? You know what you did? Right? Like, why you so casual about it? 😂😂
I think this is Sav’s darkest book she’s done and that made my little black heart happy.
The epilogue was my absolute favorite. It concluded the series so well and I cannot wait for whatever journey Sav is going to take us on next!
Liars and Liaisons by Sav R Miller is book 6 in the Monsters & Muses. This is the story of Violet Artinos and Grayson James. This is a interconnecting series so it does help to read the previous books but I did think this could be a standalone book. Violet has a crush of sorts on Nate but he has ghosted her. Then his brother Grayson who is the dark recluse of sorts shows up who is looking for a muse. Grayson is taken with Violet from the start and when she resist him, he blackmails her into going back to the family mountain house. It does have some serious trigger issues so please read the author's warning. This was a really good dark read.
Sav R Miller absolutely never disappoints with her Monsters and Muses series. Liars and Liasons is the final installment and has left me shook. The spice and plot are both phenomenal and the twists and turns leave you guessing. I legitimately gasped a few times at revelations. You will not be disappointed reading this. You will be heartbroken it’s the last of the series though.
Thank you to Sav for the opportunity to ARC read Liars & Liaisons!! When I started this series, I never knew how much I would love it. I originally thought it was fantasy (lol) and hoped I wouldn't be disappointed that it wasn't. I haven't been disappointed by a single word in this entire series. Liars and Liaisons was the perfect, most delicious icing on the cake. Grayson is TO DIE FOR, and Violet is such an amazing FMC. Reading their story and everything they go through is incredible, not to mention that the epilogue is the most amazing little wrapup to this series. I beg everyone who sees this to read not only L&L, but also all of this series. This coming to a close is bitter sweet, but I can't wait to read the rest of Sav's books!!

Violet Artinos met his brother first—while trying to avoid hers. By the time Grayson James came crashing into her life, she was already infatuated with his brother. But that didn't stop him, in fact it drove him to want more. Grayson saw something in Violet; her mere presence made him lose reason & made her keep him company in his mountain side estate. Soon, she became his muse. The monster in him loved the darkness that was hid inside her & he was the one that will help her unmask them.
V I O L E T_A R T I N O S: She may be Cora's cousins & Daddy Kal's half sister.. but our LITTLE ECHO is a BAD ASS in her own right! JUST ONE MORE QUOTE.. IM SORRY I HAVE TO!
"The world could surrender to flames all around us, and the only thing I'd give a shit about was that she was with me, and I, her. That way, when our souls inevitably exited this planet, I wouldn't have to search for hers. We'd go together."
There's sooo much more I WISH I could say but I CANTTT! I can't without spoiling it.. just knew L&L was fxkcn CHEF's KISS! Listen.. (insert Lady Gaga show stopping gif here) because Liars & Liaisons was brilliant, amazing, show stopping, WILD, CRAZY, DELICIOUSLY DARK, and fxckn BEAUTIFUL!
I want to apologize to Sav because she must’ve spent countless HOURS, DAYS, WEEKSSS, etc. pouring her entire SOUL into this book just for me to fxckn DEVOUR it in ONE literal sitting. I COULDN’T put it down! I was HOOKED from the MC’s chemistry, to the side characters, to the amazing CAMEOS of our other M&M couples. But what had me on a fxckn CHOKEHOLD.. was the SUSPENSE !! Legit.. biting my nails! The plot was most DEFINITELY plotting! I honestly didn’t see some of those twists & turns coming! I was weary of some characters & just when I thought I had figured it out.. Ms. Milller was like “NOPE” & it left me like 🤯 wtf??
I’m so fxckn utterly DEVASTATED that the M&M series is now over. This series was Dark romance PERFECTION, filled with such IMPERFECT love that it made each couple’s HEA that much sweeter. This series speaks to my SOUL, reminding me how beautiful life can be when you have someone that loves EVERY part of you- including the broken & dark pieces.
Sav R Miller.. just 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 standing ovation! (again insert lady gaga show stopping gif here) to describe our girl SAV! Daddy Kal will always have my entire HEART & let me just say there’s more gods & muses out there, I wouldn’t mind a LIFETIME of Monsters & Muses.
*Thank you to Valentine PR, Sav R. Miller, & team for the ARC in exchange of an honest review
this is my first book of Sav R. Miller!! i was subconsciously avoiding her books for some time just because i have heard some have too much OWD but thankfully this book had none🙏🙏
i’m really on a professor kick lately and Grayson was just that. but when his star pupil died, he spiraled and locked himself in his mansion. while throwing his crazy parties, he encounters his brothers girlfriend who he kissed and then blackmailed her into staying at his house to be his live in maid.
i did really like how this story started. i just loveee a psychopathic professor who is so ✨obsessed✨ with his girl, he’s basically crazy. Violet and Grayson had some great moments. some push and pull and some very very hawtttt scenes together. i felt how much Violet means to Grayson because wow this man was so obsessed with her and didn’t care that she still had ‘feelings’ for his brother. he just wanted whatever he can get from her and i loved it💋
however, this book’s plot was just a heaping mess. it took me foreverrrrr to finish this book because of how truly messy the plot was. i honestly could not tell you 75% of it. it was just written so messy with SO MANY DIFFERENT SIDE CHARACTERS i could barely keep track of who was who. the author said this can be read as a standalone but i felt we had no proper introduction to every side character so it was all a heaping mess! also, as psychotic Grayson was, i wish he was MORE PSYCHOTIC and actually took down his evil family members from the beginning instead of sitting on his ass and moping around about how much he hates them! i wish he was more ruthless and proactive in doing something about it.
i think i would’ve liked this book more if the plot/characters get cleaned up a bit. and since i recently read something similar to this book (Sweet Destruction by Heather Ashley: psychotic professor, obsessed with his girl) that one was definitely a lot better! the H in Sweet Destruction just had that unhinged personality but is so grounded and so in love with his heroine, it was beautifully to read about. so this book definitely paleddddd in comparison.
safety: no OWD, virgin h, celibate H • trigger SA: heroine gets SA’ed twice by the H’s brother towards the middle and end of the book (which is WHY I WANT OUR HERO TO BE ACTUALLY CRAZY AND MURDER HIS BROTHER ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!) • OMD: h briefly dated Hero’s brother but nothing serious. she would say she was still ‘in love’ with the H’s brother to get a rise out of him but she wasn’t. • OWD (maybe): H’s ex girlfriend has some scenes in this book but they dated years ago and are friends now. not gonna lie i LOVED her! she was so badass and hilarious❤️
The twist felt like someone was blowing air into a balloon behind me, I could hear the sound but wasn’t sure what it was. I took a guess but not entirely right and then suddenly it popped.
The little twist with the shady bodyguard was pretty predictable because it was so obvious but other than that I thought it was a paranormal-ish book since they were talking about ghosts and stuff. I couldn’t be more wrong lol.
Grayson was quite intense but smitten with Violet. Violet was into the brother at first but then she accepted he ‘slept’ with Grayson the first time too well. Since she claimed she was still into the ex.
I don’t like cheaters and since she wasn’t even sure whether she was still in a relationship with Nate or not, I was a bit okay with that. Although it wasn’t clear whether they were over or not too which was a bit yuck.
Thankfully there wasn’t any double dipping here since she was still a virgin when she slept with Grayson.
Grayson may not be the most intense hero I’ve ever read or the most unhinged one but he was up there.
The ending was lackluster per usual I was wishing for marriage and baby/ies. And all that reveal left me empty. I could empathize with Grayson since he basically killed/drugged people when he thought he was dishing out revenge to those who was responsible of Sydney’s death.
He was obsessed with the parties. Thankfully they were never together romantically. Was pretty yucky that she slept with his dad and bro tho.
There was slight sexual abuse towards Violet by shithead Nate just as a head up.
Overall an okay book. Not sure about the previous books from the series tho, don’t think I want to read any of it. Tried the second book but I’ve never been a fan of rockstar heroes.

This was one of my favorites in the series. I liked the mystery behind what really happened to his student and the creepy haunted house vibe. I enjoy a good revenge plot. Violet used to date Greyson's older brother, and he hatches a plan to use her to get revenge on Nathan and his father.
I really loved some of the spicy scenes. There is a chasing scene in the woods, and when he is on the phone with his POS father.
I was not expecting the twist at the end.
My issue with this story is the same as the other ones. I feel like they are all somewhat confusing. In this one, I didn't understand the purpose of the house parties or why people went missing. I also didn't understand her being in his employment as his "nanny" it was just odd.
i have to say, grayson gave jonas a hell of a run for his money but jonas still comes out on top.
i can’t believe i’m done with this series. i had so much fun, especially bc i buddy read the whole thing with sammie in preparation to meet sav (which is tomorrow!! we did it!!) i am so excited to read the spin off series for kal & elena’s kids. i hope i get to see jonas & friends again in the future.
