Horrible

To wordy and the mc was just really stupid. The whole book was just not for me, why would grant your enemy a boon, tell everyone you meet about your abilities, continue to say out loud the attack you going to use even after the system points out how stupid it is, use a powers that keep knocking you unconscious, loss fights with people weaker than you. I could keep going but you get the idea The MC was just a horrible character, he's a coward and really stupid, especially for someone the author made a point to say was a gamer. Just a really horrible read but I liked the cover.

Good story overall

The beginning was a bit slow setting up our main character and could use an editor for some spelling issues.

But it was a good story and I look forward to more.

I hope this is an entertaining story.

I just found out that the person who shilled me on this story dropped it a ways in, and I can see why. I completed seventy percent of this book, and I am also wishing for the story to end.

The protag is uninteresting. At the start he was having thoughts of being a carpet protagonist, so people can walk over him. He (the protag) found out some information about his abilities, and never explored anything (even though he said he would).

There was so many things I wanted to say, and was going to wait until I finished the book to put my thoughts down on paper (and see if my opinion changed)... but with so little of the book remaining, the protag being uninteresting, the story (with how it is being told) being uninteresting, and the characters being uninteresting, why not?

I understand the protagonist was slowly dying in that hospital, and this new lease on life might have come at a shock. But for so much of the book to be completed, and for me to read so much nothing is annoying. I will not read the sequel.

I finished the book and will definitely not read the sequel. All of that build up, and that is how it ends?
It just felt so cliched. I don't know if the author was trying too hard so his protagonist doesn't come across as too powerful because he succeeded in me not being interested in anything he does.

Slow start with a big, satisfying end.

I wasn’t sure about this book through the first couple of chapters. Goblins and caves? Don’t we have enough of those in this genre? I stuck it out because I enjoyed the flow and writing, and I liked some of the characters a lot like Rae and Tulk the goblin. For me this story really picked up around chapter 6 or 7.

By the end I actually felt like this was a huge world worth exploring with some fun characters and a darker tone. It also earned brownie points for not giving us a major cliffhanger.

Overall I would give this a 4.5. Some formatting changes at the end swayed me a bit, and the multiple POVs was jarring at first, but by the end I fell into a good reading rhythm with this one.

This was tough for me to get through, but it might be worth it?

I will probably continue on, in this series, but this book was tough to get through. I like the premise, but for an experienced gamer, Silas didn’t seem to take advantage of some clear early cheats. If he considered everything that he did as a quest to improve his stats, and not just let the System set them, would he have been able to win stats even faster? We don’t know because he didn’t really try.

There was also so many interludes, and random characters being introduced that this book felt interminable by about the 60% mark. I had to force myself to continue on and very seriously considered DNF’ing. Hopefully the next book will see Silas leveling and coming into his own without all of the tangents. Oddly, the world-building wasn’t particularly strong either, which for this genre, is normally where you get the tangents.

This is a book that has a lot of potential, the world could be interesting and the magic and system the protagonist has seems like it could go a lot of different ways. Unfortunately this is all wasted by the fact that I do not care about the characters and storyline in general at all. A couple side characters are a little interesting but the protagonist is terrible. Not every main character has to be some bad ass but this guy just comes off as completely incompetent and has very little redeeming qualities. I'll admit I'm only a bit over half way through the book but it's so disappointing that I'm putting it down. I'll try and finish it some other time and will update if the rest of the story changes my mind

Unexpected.

The story in itself was well thought out and written. Unfortunately, the beginning might send some readers away; it was hard for me, at least, to continue. For the story's sake, I can see why you went that route, especially character building and the prior protagonist situations. Remember, we want our hero to excel; some struggles are great but grueling battles to make far-reaching enemies. The surprise at the end was coated this great story a point. The enemy of my enemy is my friend but seeking a greater enemy, one that was a driving factor for said growth of both characters, to battle one that brought you higher is jarring, at least to me.

Disappointing

An okay story let down by a decent amount of typos and an annoying protagonist. Something that consistently annoyed me in was where the protagonist would use his powerful abilities, that takes a month before they can be used again, in situations where he had less powerful stuff he could use. In the end the protagonist that keeps mentioning how he plays games and how familiar the system seems, keeps making rash, panicked and dumb decisions for the sake of the plot.

Interesting

I enjoyed this book for the interesting characters, the fact that the MC isn't op , isn't a genius , but somehow has lucked his way to survival. I would have givin more stars if the typos were not so distracting. I do want to read more of the story though so great hook.

The Amazon synopsis was not the best, however the story itself was very good. Enjoyed the characters and the world itself. 4/5 due to the end formatting being off (stats and alerts not being in bold text)

Excellent story

I found the story to be unique and quite entertaining. The multiple errors of grammar and spelling, was a little off putting. A thorough read through should have found all of them.

Very good start

I enjoyed this story. It has an interesting premise and a likable protagonist. I'm curious as to where the author is going to go with this. Excellent tale of the corruption of power, as well as a good versus evil story.

Very good read

I enjoyed reading this book very much and I recommend this book to anyone who like LitRPG and progression type of books with lots of action. The MC is impatient and rash.

If you get put aside the typos, it's a goos read.

Looking forward to the next installment. There are typos, it needs another proof read. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this read, I'd recommend this book.

Nice story, atrocious spelling

You need an editor, not just a spell check. They ate soft baked bread, not break. That's the least of the issues I found as I read the book.
