Volume 3 of the excellent series concerning the travels of Father De Smet amongst the Indian tribes of the Pacific Northwest. Vivid, descriptions, not only of the area, but of each tribe, and their way of life, and how he brings Christ to them and their eagerness to hear the “ black robes.”
