Well written. A very relaxing, peaceful read. Ms. Northrop excels at the descriptive imagery of her surroundings in a way that allows the reader to nearly picture themselves there with her! Highly recommend, especially to anyone dealing with personal health or emotional difficulties, a gentle reminder that there is much in this world, in our surroundings we take for granted and peace and healing can be found all around us.

I was familiar with Jo Northop's writing since the 1980s as she wrote a column in the Magazine Country Living for many years. Her descriptive way of allowing you to see things in full color was what intrigued me all those years. I think she also gave me my love of writing as well. This book was a must have when I saw it was available. If you love descriptive writing about country life and all types of scenes and laughable times, this book is for YOU!

Nice, and I enjoyed it, but preferred Korda's book with the same title. His used "matters" more as a noun, while hers used it like a verb. It made an interesting difference in approach.
