Wolf-Christian von Ditfurth is a German author and historian. He was a member of the German Communist Party from 1973 to 1983. In January 1998, he joined the SPD, which he was a member of for two years.

As a journalist he has published numerous articles in the Der Spiegel. Since 1999, he has also been a writer of sensational and detective novels.

He comes from an old noble family. His father Hoimar von Ditfurth was a journalist, doctor, popular television presenter and writer, his sister, Jutta Ditfurth, is a journalist and politician.

Ich habe bereits 6 Bücher von Christian von Ditfurth gelesen, die mir alle sehr gut gefallen haben (4* oder sogar 5*) - 4 Bücher aus der Eugen de Both-Reihe und 2 aus der Stachelmann-Serie - aber dieses Buch ist anders als alle anderen zuvor... Es ist schlicht und einfach sterbenslangweilig! Ich bin jetzt auf S. 86 und habe beschlossen, dass ich mir das nicht weiter antun werde... Schade!

so normally I don't like reading a book of the middle of a series but I made an exception here and I'm glad I did. I really liked that book, though the ending was a bit of a letdown, don't know, just didn't feel exactly right...
anyway I liked the spelling style and I'd really like to read the other books of that series, though I know a few bits of the first 3 books already now.

Der vierte Fall des Historikers, der immer irgendwie in Kriminalfälle hereinschlittert ist etwas schwächer als die anderen. Es geht um Buchenwald die Heroisierung der Kommunisten durch die SED und Alt-Stalinisten in Hamburg. Natürlich ist STachelmanns Privatleben auch wieder im Argen, aber er lernt Georgie kennen.
