Anna's life was completely changed when her ex-boyfriend turned her into a vampire, in an attempt to kill her best friend. Now she's trying to piece her life together and move on in a new reality. But her ex is still out there and needs to be brought to justice.
Enter the team of men assigned to do just that. Does a turned vampire have fated mates and could these guys be hers?
This book can be read as a standalone but does contain spoilers for a previous series in the same world: Brickstone University Series.
*This is a medium burn, paranormal, reverse harem, meaning she doesn’t have to choose and book one in the series. The story changes POVs between the main character and her men. The steaminess factor will go up as the series goes on and is intended for 17+. This book ends on a cliff hanger and is 55,000 words*
Want to start this off by saying this is the first book I’ve read by this author so I hadn’t read the first series before picking this up. It was not hard to understand the world even though this is my first experience with it. The first series was explained well enough in snipets while reading this one. Anna is the main character in this supernatural mystery reverse harem. She finds herself working with an elite group of incredibly handsome supernatural men. They must work together to find her killer/sire, Ryan. She’s out for revenge and they want to finish a mission that others have failed to do before them. However, no one would have guessed this group of men would be her fated mates. Can they find a man who seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth? Anna sure hopes so, if only to make him feel all the pain he’s caused her. As characters go, they weren’t the worst. I found myself disagreeing with Anna on her decisions at times, but nothing too drastic. Mostly the fact that she was forgetting about Ryan in the beginning of the story but then she suddenly became hellbent on getting revenge on him? The male love interests kept to their distinct personalities, which I enjoyed. Some RH stories tend to write a lot of the male internal dialogues the same, even though they are supposed to have very different personality traits. The world explained in this book is the same as most worlds where they incorporate many different supernatural beings. There is a higher council, which I hope they explore more in the next book (I do realize it may have been explained in the first series but as a separate series in the same universe, based on different characters it should be explained well in both. This way people who didn’t read the first, like me, still understand everything). The pacing was fine in the beginning but I did notice a rush towards the end. I’ve never been a fan of many day skips in between chapters. Other things could be hashed out during those times that were skipped. It makes it feel rushed as well when things like that are mentioned. Such as, more romance building between the characters. Not a rushed sex scene after a two day skip, then back to their mystery. Overall, I think I will continue the series. It was a quick and easy read and I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I was. The mystery sub-plot is very interesting and I am curious where it will end up. This book does also end on a cliffhanger, warning if you’re not into that type of thing.
I was so excited to get to read Anna’s story after we finished Aly’s journey, and it has not disappointed so far! Between the woes of being forcefully changed and having her life fall apart, the sudden appearance of her fated mate(s), and the danger still lurking around the corner this story is already addictive!
Anna is so strong yet vulnerable from her trauma. A combination that makes her men perfect for her! The soft, golden retriever energy from Felix to support her. The flirty, slightly insecure energy from Griffyn to remind her she is wanted and valued. The silent support from Blaze as a reminder that someone always has her back. And the head-butting, bratty interactions with Aksel to bring out her passionate energy! They are such a thrilling group to read about!
That cliffhanger though! I’m usually good at calling twists like that, but I didn’t see this one coming! I have *thoughts* about their connection and can’t wait to see how things play out in book two!
I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this book & it was AWESOME!! Although it is set in the same world as Brickstone University, you can start this new series without reading it...But I HIGHLY recommend you do! Anyways...Changed is about Anna who was a human turned by her ex for revenge.. A special elite OPS team of paranormal's come in to hunt down Ryan (the ex!) It has mystery, action & spice is "Chef's Kiss". I loved the Brickstone University series and was sooo happy Anna gets to tell her story! I am so ready for the next book!
There was simply too much trying to happen here. They have one enemy then another enemy then a different enemy then a stalker then another enemy and another enemy and… I think I get the picture.
Instead of really giving us 1 or 2 core villains it was like bad guy whiplash. And the stalker element was completely unnecessary 🙄 boring, in fact.
As for the MFC. She starts off as a sorta vigilante vibe. That quickly falls to the wayside. I never disliked her but I was never fully engaged with her either. My biggest issue is that I felt like she played favorites with her mates. She spends a vast majority of the books with 2 mates while limiting her time with the other 3. To the point where it began feeling redundant. Like oh yeah of course she’s spending the night with him again.
As a whole, these men are idiots. They are supposedly the top tier elite Alpha team yet they regularly have to call the MFCs best friend so her pack can help or bail them out. They regularly get snuck up on like they can’t watch their own teams backs. And the number of times they get shot. 🙄🙄🙄 Don’t get me started.
I wouldn’t not recommend this series but I also am not going to say OMG read it now! Cause… yeah. 🫤
Why Choose FMC: Anna MMC: Felix MMC: Griffyn MMC: Blaze MMC: Aksel
The is a Supernatural why choose. The FMC is a Vampire and is a strong FMC character. Felix (leopard shifter), Griffyn (Incubus), Blaze (Dragon Shifter) and Aksel (dark fae) are on a special Op’s type team and we learn that Anna is their mate. In this fist book Anna is only aware that Felix is her mate.
In this first book if lays out the making of a why choose. There will be other books in this series. There is suspense and twists and turn you don’t expect. I absolutely loved this book and am anxious for the next one.
Another book I read in 1 day, I couldn’t put it down. I love the writing style where you get multiple POV. The author sprinkle in some spice too. I predict group scenes in the future, LOL. This is a new favorite author and series for me.
This book was the first I’ve read by this author so I went in with no previous impression of her writing. I enjoyed the story very much. It was a medium to slow burn, why choose, paranormal romance involving various types of supernatural creatures. There is also action, some mystery and some 🌶🌶. The writing was well done. With many different characters, I feared there would be lesser character development however that was not the case. As a reader, I got to know the characters individually and as a collective. The story moved along at a good pace to prevent boredom. It does end on a cliffhanger and I look forward to reading the next installment. The editing was completed and I did not notice misspellings or incorrect word usage. I know I will be reading more by the author.
This is my first DM Page book and while this book takes place after events in her previous series, the author does a great job recapping just enough that I didn’t feel lost. It is a paranormal why-choose romance with lots of suspense and has set the stage nicely for events to come. There is not a lot of spice in this book but it has definitely warmed us up for lots of future spicy scenes I feel are inevitable as the series progresses. The characters are so full of personality and I really appreciate the multiple POVs that help with that feeling of connection. I am 100% on board for the rest of this series!!
This is a medium to slow burn why choose Fae romance. This is the first book that I have read and will be going back to read the others and waiting for more.
DM Page does an amazing job with these characters. Each is a shifter and they all fit perfectly with each other. I absolutely loved Felix. You have vamps, demons, dragon, dark fae, and a snow leopard.
There are twists that have you begging for more.
I’m so glad I got to read this book!! Finished in a day, that’s how much we I loved it.
I randomly came across this series. Never read anything by this author before. I seems there is another series before this one - Brickstone University - that features Anna's friend Aly and the events referenced in this book. I didn't know that prior. I don't think it took away from my understanding though. As for this book, it was fine. It's a quick read. I don't really expect masterpieces with these types of books and I'm fine with that. I just want an interesting enough book to read and enjoy at that time.
Probably should have read the other series first but I don't feel like I'm missing too much. I like how vampires only find their mates by drinking their blood. But didn't like how some of the guys are denying their bonds since they know before her. The premise that the team would get a case with so little information is weird but I'm sure there's some more nefarious political plot coming. Ends on a cliff hanger. Hope the next book has more relationship development.
Loving the start of this RH/Why Choose ; Fated Mate book. Starts you off with a great start into the world and weaves a great amount of drama and unspoken bonds. Loved the dynamics and how the FMC isn’t willing to just roll over and let the men take the lead. Can’t wait to read what happens next esp with that cliffy that was given.
Vampire MFC Anna is wanting to get revenge on her killer Ryan. 4 MMC Aksel, dark fae, Felix, Snow leopard shifter, Blaze, Dragon shifter and Griffyn, incubus work for special OPs u it hunting her killer as well. This is a why choose and fated mates but Anna only knows of one mate in this book. I absolutely cannot wait for the next!! This story had me flipping faster than ever! 🪜 is included 😳🔥🔥🔥

What a great start to hopefully a great series. Anna was I felt was a little shy in the other series but in this one she definitely isn't. She really is different character in this book. I love the guys especially Felix and how great he is towards Anna. Aksel I can do without but I know he will get better. Of course it ends on a cliffhanger. Oh but what a cliffhanger it is.
I loved this book! I read her whole other series Brickstone University so I knew I would really enjoy this one also. I love all of the characters but Felix is by far my favorite. I am a sucker for why choose stories and it was a slow burn on top which I am not normally a fan of but it was done well here. The ending was amazing and I can’t wait for the next book to come out!!
I hate Felix so much. His golden retriever isn’t cute. It’s actually pretty annoying. I’m interested to learn more about blaze. I feel bad for poor griff and the fmc is annoying as well. Don’t get me started on askhole 🙄 NGL I don’t know if I’ll enjoy this series. The end was a plot twist for sure. But what I’ve seen so far, these men need to grow some balls💀🫣
I loved this, i am so glad anna got her own story and its answering some of the questions I still had when the last series ended. I love the new characters and how they interact with each other and the twists and turns in this book and the cliffhanger ending was amazing will be straight into next book.
I loved Aly’s story and was so excited to get Anna’s! Anna’s story started off amazingly! I love all the guys (except for Aksole at the moment) That ending had me out of my chair! I cannot wait to see where it goes!
The tension! This is an easy and fun read, especially continuing on from Aly’s story. Slow slow burn, so I’m looking forward to the groveling in book 2 and upping the spice meter. Book 1 was a solid 2/5 on the spice scale.
A little underwhelming for the hype, but solid start
I’ll be back for book 2 to see where it goes. I found myself frustrated with the characters more than anything else. Premise isn’t bad, hoping for more actual story movement in the next one.
I enjoyed this book. It has good character introductions. Brings us back to Aly and her guys but not so much that you needed to read anything before this series. Liked all her guys even the rude one. Ready for more.
That ending kind of surprised me. I really enjoyed this group even though I wanted to hulk smash Aksel so many times. It dragged me into the story and I didn't want to stop. I'm looking forward to the next book
I liked Anna in Aly’s series and I’m so glad we get her story. The story flow is a lot better than the first one. Since we know Anna’s story we know she’s going to slide into the world so much better. The ending is crazy. I can’t wait to see A fall and fall hard.
I enjoyed reading this book and the ending had my jaw down on the floor, I did not see that coming at all. I liked the characters and they grew on me as the story progressed. I would recommend giving this book a read.
