Lightning isn't supposed to strike twice, but when the electrifying Erin Markov whirls into Felix's life she gives him more than his destroyed family home to think about. Erin's exciting and unpredictable, in and out of bed, if only he could get her to stop dancing in thunderstorms, rollerblading in the middle of the night, and leaping around on unsafe roofs. Plus she has this annoying habit of biting his neck.
Erin wishes she could remember who she is. The couple who claim to be her parents leave her in a dilapidated stately home with supplies of a revolting energy drink and instructions not to go out in the sun. Then she discovers sculptor Felix living next door and life becomes far more tasty.
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable; anal play/intercourse, violence.
Barbara Elsborg lives in Kent in the south of England. She always wanted to be a spy, but having confessed to everyone without them even resorting to torture, she decided it was not for her. Volcanology scorched her feet. A morbid fear of sharks put paid to marine biology. So instead, she spent several years successfully selling cyanide.
After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop.
Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they are to write.
I can't keep lightning in a bottle. I know that. You'll always be who you are. My wild and crazy Erin, and I'll always love you
-Felix
I love this book! from the first time Felix and Erin met , they went Wam Bam without even knowing each others name...so silly hahaha...
I love Erin...she's one hyperactive and insatiable woman and she don't eat only drinks 'plasmic' don't ask, that I have no idea:)and she's totally hilarious... warned by her parents that she's allergic to the sun...she found out later on that she's a vampire princess of a vampire race called trueblood... I love Felix...ooooh total hotness...who wants some artist-sculptor hero..'me.me.me':). Being the thirteenth Earl by default, for his parents died in an accident,..had a bad reputation to everyone who knows his family, got lots of debt he then sold their ancestral home to the Markov(Erin's family) there's lots of fun in this book despite the past of Erin that's scary, not dark just the ewwy kinda scary thing. I love both characters and their perfect chemistry...love their banter that made me laugh loud:D almost 3/4 of the story are sex scenes in a very detailed writing style, spoil the imaginations...bet you'll love that *cough:) the love scenes went in and out of bed/couch/floor/roof/in the rain/table/pottery wheel/bathroom/beach/soil 'six feet under'? nah they can't even move there:) hmmm what's left oh the wall hahaha.
this is Exactly how I pictured Erin and Felix playing and making a clay pot.:D 'dirty, messy and NAKED' *squeeeeeee

and to think of it, this is just 1 out of almost 30 scenes they've done together..I'm still surprised my nose didn't bleed:)
Not my favourite of this author’s. Not bad by a long way, because pretty much everything she writes is of a higher standard than most writers, but somehow I felt a little disconnected from this. It’s almost - gasp - as though there was too much sex in it, and that’s not something I say often.
I did like Felix and Erin, but I was almost more interested in Erin’s parents, which shouldn’t have been the case.
This series just gets cooler and cooler! Barbara Elsborg has created such an interesting paranormal world here, and she's broadened the scope in Lightning in a Bottle by adding some of her trademark darker elements. Lovely!
LOL, I went ahead and just bought the two remaining books... I can't wait to read them.
Eric has no memory of who she is. She has to rely on everything her parents say about her, if that's who they really were. Her parents don't look much older than her. They tell her that she was in an accident, has a severe sun allergy, and has to drink Plasmix. They take her to stay in their newest purchase, Pevenhurst Castle, and oversee the renovations. However the place seems very familiar.
Felix is the thirteenth Earl of Sherbourne heir to Pevenhurst Castle, but having messed up everything is his life he has to sell it. He now lives in the coachhouse next door. Will it be absolute torture to watch his ancestral home finally being renovated the way he always wanted? Reduced to use his artistic talents making tombstones for pets, he meets the most amazing woman who is as wild as a force of nature.
Keep a fire extinguisher nearby for this one. There is a good story with this, but the brilliance in erotic writing will have you panting in no time with the longest running erotic scene that I've ever read. I think I'll be saving loads on my heating bill this winter!
Didn't really enjoy this, not up to Barbara's usual standard. The sex was so abundant and robotic it felt totally unexciting or believable. The plot was also weak, I mean now long did it take to figure out you are a vampire? And the premise that noone planned to tell the lead female just didn't make any sense at all. After the previous two being good reads I think I'll take a break from this series and when I revisit hope number 4 is back on par :)
This one is about Erin & Felix. A little boring to start with. Again I was disappointed to be learning whole new characters again, but the connection was there a little earlier then in the other book. Not as funny as book 2, but plenty of laughs. Good mystery surrounding Erin, but could have been played out a little more, but great ending and last 1/4 of the book.
All I can say is FANTASTIC!! Book 3 in Barbara's Trueblood Series is an amazing and fun read with wonderful and exciting characters. The chemistry between Felix and Lightning is electrifying making it a definite must read!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another great story by Barbara. Two lost souls met together for a new beginning. The plot is good, so is the climax of the story. Though it is quite oversexed for me, the story makes up for it. Love that the first two couples from the other story are mentioned.
This book was all sex and little plot. The sex scenes were good, but so many I found myself skipping. It had a good basic plot and I feel if some of the pages devoted to sex would have been devoted to plot, it would have made it a very solid book.
