Alright, so this is a cheap western from the 80’s, and it has a lot of the stuff you want to see in such a book. There’s rootin’ and tootin’ and shootin’. There’re cowboys and saloons and toothless prospectors looking for gold. There’s also a love story and a bad guy.

The vibe is right for the first 150 pages, but the ending is so dumb. The mystery bad guy? Turns out to be some random guy the author has failed to even mention until the last 15 pages. Whatever.

Last note of interest, this is apparently a novel produced as a marketing tool for Colt Revolvers. Like, on the cover it says “A Colt Revolver Novel” and throughout the novel the characters give special attention to details about Colt weaponry.

It was my first time reading a book that was only created to promote a product.
