After spending his 20s getting over a crush, Seunghyun vowed to never give his heart to someone in the same field again. Enter Jongchan, Seunghyun's tough new boss with a surprising soft side. Will Seunghyun's first job and first relationship be a success?
This volume collects episodes 25-46 of the webcomic The New Recruit.
I'm a bit bummed to admit that it wasn't until I hit the third volume that I caught on to the fact that the original novel behind this webtoon was written by one of those authors I really liked before. The different art styles between the webtoon artists totally threw me off, even though not many Korean authors whip up characters this cool and mature – which should've rung a bell, honestly.
Right from the start, I've been all about this novel's well-written and fleshed-out characters. The two main characters come off as surprisingly grown-up, and for once (maybe this is not the first time but I am going to say so for dramatic effect), they actually deal with their issues like real adults. No unnecessary drama or misunderstandings – they just talk things out, like mature folks. Some readers might pick up on a power imbalance in their relationship due to the difference in their status at work, but they handle it pretty smoothly. And props to the webtoon's amazing artwork – it takes the plot to the next level.
The only letdown for me is that this author hasn't dropped too many completed webtoons. Fingers crossed that one day, an official English version of this book will be available in physical form. That way, I can proudly slide it into my growing stash of BL novels.

The ending is just right and I like how the two of them improve with their skills physically/sexually/romantically. Not a bad read and I'm glad that their story isn't rush or something.
3.5 stars i’m lowk glad it was short since like idk maybe office romances aren’t doing it for me anymore i crave tension and angst and all that now ig idk man i think it was cute tho and their chemistry is pretty good i loce when a strong man folds for their lover… there’s literally nothing better than that im ngl but the story was lacking overall and it def could’ve had some more but it’s wtvr a nice simple plot for a simple story is also satisfactory like i mean it’s good it didn’t drag on and have unnecessary conflicts and stupid plot points they wrapped it up nicely and effectively and i think that’s probably why this was good however still 3.5 bc ig it’s just not for me but it was well executed for what jt did offer!
SOOO MUCH BETTER THAN NO LOVE ZONEEEE. Idk why I compared this so much to "No Love Zone" but I did and fuckkkk this is actually good. Finally a HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP. Really liked the story, wanted to see more low-key. Cute office romance with a nice boss for once who ISN'T torturing the poor uke (cough cough no love zone cough cough). Jongchan helped Seunghyun with those office bastards too, and when he was unjustly rejected, Jongchan gave up his position because he knew what happened wasn't right. I liked that. I LOVED JIYEON. We honestly deserved side chapters about her and her girlfriend, but whatever.

To mean this isn’t just a BL story but a love story of 2 people who show a lot of growth in their career and relationships. I enjoy watching them grow and getting where they are at the end of the storyline. I couldn’t put it down and I was worried that I have to wait for the book. It feels like the end! The sex scene was explicitly designed! Very tasteful on the scale of PG-13 IMO. I’m looking forward to see more from this author. Enjoy the journey this book will take you!
i’m rating this manhwa 3.5/5 stars! i did really love the characters and the romance, however i feel like there could’ve been more plot added into the webtoon! i kind of wanting to see like their relationship getting exposed and seeing how each character would react.
i also felt that the ending was a BIT rushed?? idk if it’s just my own brain, but i would still recommend and i did enjoyed the entire manhwa. a very different read from my last read… BUT the art style is gorgeous!!! the manhwa is very comforting, informative, sweet and lighthearted!!
The more volumes I read, the less I can talk about without giving spoilers, but...
I really love both Seunghyun and Jongchan. Jiyeon is an incredible friend.
I can't believe that Jongchan said all his past relationships ended because he wasn't romantic or around often enough because he can't leave Seunghyun alone! It's adorable!
The whole series has been so lovely and it was the perfect ending for these two. These will be a definite re-read for me.
Read online and so excited that Seven seas is now picking this up for an English print to put on my shelf. There has yet to be a BL novel written by Moscareto adapted to manhwa (regardless of the artist) that I haven't adored. This one is one of my favourite office romance ones as, great if you like contemporary office romances with out any completely off the wall plots/characters or fantasy elements.
I really liked this story even though the trope is kind of cliche - it was soooo well written and the characters were just green flag, they could literally walk with the green colour if they wanted.
The ending didn't feel like it, so a reader could basically imagine how it will continue
Beside all the sweet and cute stuff, we also got well feed with the dirtyy
I adore them so much! I wish they mentioned marriage though, I would’ve loved to see an engagement!! I’m glad I read this webtoon. I was happy to see there was no third-act breakup or anyone coming in between their relationship.
I just enjoy how mature it all is. It didn't have unnecessary angst and the communication was top tier. I enjoyed seeing them balance their love life with work and that neither weighed out the other. Just good old romance. So sweet! 🥹
big fan of chill relationships like this. uke was sometimes a bit naive and whiny for a 26? year old but i forgive him. Love this author a lot I've enjoyed some of her other stuff too, lowkey office romance is always gonna get me hehe.
This office romance was a fucking DELIGHT. Green flags all around. A thoughtful mature experienced older top. A lovely puppy who matures and grows into his own over the course of the story. The devotion to each other!!! Inject this into my veins!!
I love this story. Goes to show you that office romances can workout. There is so much genuine love between Seung and Jong. They'll be happy forever. I was a little bummed that the side stories weren't added to it.
I dunno, I kept expecting this to change, but it never really did. The characters only ever talked about work. It was fine, but not something I'd reread.
