The Wolves of Promise Falls #7

The Break of Promise

Rate this book
Peace has come to Promise Falls, and Trey hates every minute of it. What is a War Wolf supposed to do with peace? His entire Pack has paired up and seems perfectly fine with settling down into a quiet life—but inside of him, his wolf is howling for war, and he must find it wherever he can to keep the animal sated. The Pack is worried, his Alpha is worried, and sometimes, even Trey is worried about the path he’s choosing, but it cannot be helped. His wolf needs more. And when a ghost from his past stumbles into his territory, he has to face the demons she stirs up inside of him. Freya has grown into a gorgeous woman, sure…but she’s not like he remembered. She used to be human, but now she’s harboring a monster inside of her. The more of her secrets he uncovers, the more he’s realizing he is to blame for the chaos falling onto Promise Falls.

Freya has signed up with a matchmaker to find a mate, but just an hour in Leadville, Colorado, tells her she’s been horribly tricked. Fate has dragged her into the territory of her nightmare. Trey is different than she remembers, but all she has are blurry memories from when she was a human. Too many outside sources are involved in pushing them to confront each other, and she can’t trust anyone. Least of all the handsome, charming, damaged werewolf who started all of this—Trey.

The Wolves of Promise Falls comes full circle with exposed secrets that dig into the heart of the Pack…because as always, nothing is as it seems in Stark’s Mountains.

Don’t miss this riveting final installment in T. S. Joyce’s bestselling Wolves of Promise Falls series.

Great HEA for the couple and their pack. Her Maker abandoned her so she's lost and knows she need a mate. Trouble is the H is not able to mate anyone but he is drawn to her. Very sweet story with a surprising outcome that I couldn't see. Loved it.

This is the last of the Promise Falls books.
Trey is the last single wolf standing, so Bootlace sets him up on a matchmaker site to find him a special lady. Freya turns up, expecting a man desperate to take a mate, only to find he has zero knowledge of the situation, and she's been talking to a mated wolf the entire time. And then the kicker: these two already know each other.
These guys take a really long time to reach coupledom. It was pretty dang obvious what had gone down, but it took forever for the reveal in this one. And it was a bit pointless, because the reasons hadn't changed with the information, so it didn't make a whole lot of sense on Freya's part.
But it had so much to love: the found family (since the pack is well and truly established), each of them becoming better versions of themselves with the other, and just that completeness and contentment of finding where they fit.
And bonus: Stryker gets his turn in a new series next.

This is the seventh book in this series. I think they should be read in order. Trey is having issues. He is a war wolf. Now that all the others have paired up and are happy, he doesn’t know what to do. His wolf is unsettled. Freya signed up with a matchmaker. That led her Promise Falls and Trey. Only Trey didn’t sign up for the service his friends did it for him. They want Freya to just meet Trey. It turns out Freya and Trey have meet before. Freya claims Trey gave her, her Wolf. Only Trey doesn’t remember doing that. Trey and Freya agree to spend a few days as friends. Only neither really wants to be just friends. But how can Freya move past what she believes Trey did to her. Is it possible that Trey didn’t turn Freya? Things are coming full circle in this book. This book was a fantastic read. I love this series. Trey and Freya had an instant connection even all those years ago. Now they get a second chance. The zombie wolf is in this book as well. I can’t wait to read his book. I need to know what happened to him. Wonderful job T.S. Joyce.

This one really should have had the sweet tone to it with how it started, but it did. I loved that Freya found a place to belong, found friends, found answers to her past and found love. I loved that Trey found peace and a way to live with his wolf not fighting him so much. Loved how the whole pack reacted to both Trey and Freya.

Not bad. Wanted to like it more than I did.

For me ,interesting story but a flawed premise that couldn’t stick the landing.
I mean I could truly love a story where a were, shifter ( to me a shifter could or should only “turn” a true mate . I think it’s only fair they can do that if their “true mate” is a human. Wouldn’t be fair to be so unequally yoked together .) vampire, alien,Fae etc. “ accidentally” turns a mate, or triggers it happening and then they get separated by life and circumstances. That could be an awesome story. I mean we’re always having couples getting drunk getting married or pregnant, why not this ?
But here you have a woman who has had a decade, repeat with me A D E C A D E ! Ten whole freaking years to come to terms with who and what she now is ,aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand she has not !
Ten years ! And she’s still placing all the blame of her life being a mess on the man she thinks started the change. She has all these preconceived notions about Trey that barely change an iota even after a week with him and getting to know him and learning about his background and his life leading up the night they met.
Freya. O Freya . You know how they say a picture tells a 1000 words ,Freya was the kinda person who wasn’t gonna try get the picture even if you filled a gallery with a collection of pictures trying to make her understand. She learns how he was turned, against his will. She learns how when they met he was there to die ( basically) in a war he was forced to be in. She sees the damage that was done to him. She sees the kind heart he has with her. Learns when he left her in the motel he was literally going off to die. And yet no matter what all this “should “ be telling her about that night, about despite what she knew lots of wolves were in the area that night ,none of it is leading her to question all that she “thinks” she knows.
This made start to low key hate her a bit.
Ten years and she hasn’t found a way to come to terms with being turned or accepting and loving her new/ish reality ( I ish because come on, a decade is long enough to done some healing and accepting) and loving and truly accepting her wolf.
⚠️ Spoilers ⚠️
When Freya decides to leave at the end because Trey is basically happy she’s a wolf because it brought her back to him ,she decides that’s beyond the pale and she must go. I was pissed! Not only had it been broadcast to us for a few chapters Trey HAD NOT done what she’d assumed he’d done ,and she’d NEVER begun to question whether it was him even after more things had come to light . Not even once. But like I said she hadn’t grown enough to truly love her wolf and her life to forgive him for something she honestly had NO proof he’d even done. Then Trey finally shows her his wolf ,a week together and to excited, anxious wolves NEVER shift once and go on a run together, and she knows the “truth”.
A true she should have questioned or forgiven him for long before the last chapter of the book.
All that ticked me off, then I remembered the books desc and how it started and the impression it had given that Freya was maybe on the run from trouble . Like she was in need of a safe place because she was in danger ⚠️. But she wasn’t. Her only true danger was her inability to accept changes in life and to grow and mature with then .the inability to question her own preconceived notions and ideas. Her inability to forgive those who truly deserved it . Idea of a missed opportunity and accidental turning was good but for me it was lost/destroyed in the execution .

I’m Not Crying, You’re Crying

“She was the heartbreak kind of stunning that made a monster want to be a better man.”

TS Joyce’s 7th and last book in her The Wolves of Promise Fall series is so bittersweet. We have been waiting for Trey to find his peace, after the rest of the wolves of his and Stark’s packs have earned theirs, but it has been so hard for him.

The Break of Promise completes and unexpectedly longer series, and we know why. We can’t get enough of these C-team wolves and their mates. Each much struggle through torturous pasts to meet and believe they can be better, more than they have been.

They are still a ragtag bunch of goofballs, but they are family. They love each other and are loyal to the point of causing themselves pain so their friends do not feel it. That is what is so very special about Joyce’s writing.

We all feel what Freya and Trey have felt. We are drawn to another, but still have the need to protect out hearts. When our way is made clearer, we finally have the chance at our own Happy Ever After.

So this took me maybe a bit longer to read than I wanted it to, but that was due to me being busy and getting distracted. I thought it was an interesting storyline and unlike anything I had read before from this author. I appreciate the complexity of the situation because at times it really has you going and I just was not sure how it was going to be salvaged. But surprise, surprise - things aren't always what they seem and more information comes out each time with the goings on of the Promise Falls Pack. I think I'll definitely enjoy re-reading the series later closer together so I can keep track of all the things that have gone on! Freya was sweet and Trey was honest about who and what he was. Stryker/Reaper's appearance was interesting...because where in the world is te author going with that. Enough build up about that has me ready to read the next book (his) eagerly!

Trey

The last book in this series but the other series link together. The storyline was easy to guess treys old alpha would order them to do things so his old friend might not had a choice.Freya is very sweet.

This is the end but a new series is out next month with there fallen computer whizz friend reaper.guess it's best to go by reaper because they called there pack after him.he took on alpha to save his old pack from another attack but what happened to him how is he alive they call him zombie wolf.he died in a battle they cried over his grave aspen bootlace Ru and trey was all that was left of his old pack, good people controlled by a bad alpha now they have a good one Darren but poor reaper died in a attract on there camp before life got better.or so they thought?

Loved Every Word

Trey is the last of the pack to find a mate. His wolf is restless now that they have peace he's taken to underground fighting to appease him. Freya is in town expecting to meet Trey as a potential mate but instead she finds members of his pack have set up the meeting. She almost leaves when the truth comes out but instead decides to stay and actually meet Trey. What a surprise when they recognize each other from a one night stand ten years ago. Freya is convinced Trey turned her but he has no memory of it. In the meantime they get to know each other and discover the attraction is still there. Eventually the truth is revealed and Freya learns that Lake is the one who changed her. This is the last book in the series and it's the perfect ending. Loved it.

Trey Dugan’s wolf is broken, he can’t stop thinking like a Trader pack war wolf despite being part of the calmer Stryker pack wolves and being an underground fighter seems to help. Freya O’Connor hopes this time the paranormal dating site really found a match for her but that hope is out the window, when she sees Trey she can’t escape quick enough!

Ten years ago, Trey and Freya shared a night neither can forget. Trey had decided if there was ever a woman he wanted to keep, it was Freya. It was Freya’s nightmare because by morning she was a wolf! Afraid and distrustful since then and it’s all Trey’s fault, he made her and left! Meanwhile, Stryker sends Trey a message that can’t be ignored.

The Break of Promise (Wolves of Promise Falls book 7) by TS Joyce is a 5 ⭐️ read.
Trey is the last single member of the Stryker Pack, his wolf is spiralling, he’s a war wolf and with no war to fight he’s fighting against humans to help keep him right. When a face from his past shows up the guilt of what he’s done weighs heavily on him.
Freya has signed up to a matchmaker, she needs a mate and hopes that the one she’s going to see will help her, Freya was turned against her will and has felt nothing but hatred to her maker, when she sees that her maker and her match are the same person she wants to run again but her wolf wants something different.

Fabulous end to an amazing series

The Wolves of Promise Falls went through hell and back to find peace and the happily ever afters they all deserved. Trey's story had all the elements to bring out all the emotions T. S. Joyce is so capable of expressing. Freya and Trey might be wolf shifters, but their pain and the way they coped with the events that shaped their lives is relatable to our very human condition. It has been such a joy to follow these characters throughout this series and all of the previous interconnected ones. Be sure to stay tuned for the next...

War wolf for the win

Oh gosh. She has done it again... Ijust don't understand how such a tiny human packs all the feels and emotions, but gosh this one hit me hard. Yall all the thing in of stories and couples and Stryker making himself known... so stoked to see trey find his peace and even more excited with all i can't spoil it for others but freya is perfection and the way those girls stick together like long lost sisters is amazing... so so so ready for the next series and cannot wait to see more of these guys

Oh My Gosh !

I read everyone of these books . Absolutely exciting , filled with so much heartache , truly heartbreaking for these war torn wolves , but filled with hope with the women who brought them love and happiness .Loved each individual story . can't wait to read Strykers story . Hoping he heals like the rest of his pack members have . Wonderfully written no 2 stories are a like except for the brutality from the former Alpha . Must read all of these books . Happy reading y'all .

I've already read the Wolves of Piston series which takes place after this series so I'm working my way backwards. I like reading about the relationship that Stryker had with his old pack and seeing him through their eyes. As far as Trey and Freya are concerned, I enjoyed their story, but compared to the other characters in this series, I feel like I knew Trey the least. I can't really say I connected with him, but I understand him a little better. Freya was a little boring IMO but I'm glad Trey got his hea.

From all the characters in this series Trey surprised me the most. He had more layers that initially thought and the last book revealed that there was more to him than on the surface.
I also loved how the packs stood strong behind him and refused to give him up when he didn't know that he needed help, less how to ask for it.
This book was a bit more intense on the angst but that was necessary for the characters and their story. There was no stupid third break up act and I liked how Freya and Trey got their HEA.

The Break of Promise🐺

The final book in the Promise Falls series is here and concludes with Trey and Freya😍 Trey and Freya met a decade ago and had a one night stand together when she was human…now they meet again and she’s no longer human😳 Freya comes to Promise with the hope of finally meeting her match as promised by a shifter matchmaker…but she finds more than she expected😁

Another great story and I can’t wait for the new spin off❣️

Trey's story

One of the things I love about T.S Joyce's books is that each character has their own story. No two stories' couples meet the same way and readers get to fall in love with each character and their mate while also revisiting the rest of the pack. Trey's story completes the Styker pack.

My only complaint about this book is that it was good and caused me to stay up late voraciously reading the whole book. Now I'm waiting again for the next book and next series!

The Promise Kept

TS Joyce never fails to delight. Her characters always capture my heart with their sense of humor, along with their uncanny ability to tug the heartstrings. The Break of Promise was a great finish to a series about a wolf pack who came from rough beginnings, known only as war wolves. Battle-hardened, but weary of it. Fighting through life against their will.

Trey finally gets his HEA with Freya, and it was sweet to see. Another lovely story.

Just okay

This one was kind of sad. Trey is losing himself and it is affecting the dynamics of his pack, but he does not realize it. Plan B is put into place and we learn what that is. The heroine resorts to an online matchmaker as her last hope, but when she arrives everything spirals out of control. She learns how life can be cruel.

I did not like that this story was shorter than the others though. I guess this author will start a new series with Stryker's new pack.

The Promise Fall Wolves Rock!

Sadly, Trey and Freya's is the last book in this series 😢 but I know the next series with Stryker and the Piston wolves will be awesome! TS Joyce is such an amazing author! An absolute master of this genre! I always fall in love with the characters she creates! Her books have everything you want in a book. Intrigue, mystery, steamy romance and hilarious shenanigans! I recommend her entire catalog!

The Break of Promise...

The Wolves of Promise Falls book 7. A delightful way to end the series. Trey gets his story. Trey's wolf is restless and hes not sure where he fits right now. Freya is someone from his past. There is a big mix up as to who turned her and can she forgive. The crew takes her in as she settles and gets to know Trey and her wolf. This book was angsty, dramatic, heartfelt and smexy.

Trey's turn

Trey is violent and laconic. He is not going to be my book boyfriend. Freya is prickly and keeps one foot out the door until the end. It makes sense. She thinks Trey ruined her life.

Trey is good to Freya, but I don't really get their connection. I also never really connected with either of them.

I would like to say that I liked this series was entirely shifter women. There was no explaining shifters or getting turned to confirm a relationship.

Happy for Trey and Freya

This is book seven and a sweet little romance for Trey. He is having a difficult time with the peace his new clan has found. Trey is still fighting and struggling. Alpha Darren and the crew are trying to help him. Freya is a submissive wolf who is trying to find a mate. Someone has put Trey and Freya together through the match centre. Are they able to get past their pasts. Read On!

🥰Trey & Freya🥰

Lord, I read this so fast and now I'm regretting it!!!! Trey & Freya's sorry was the best one yet in my opinion. Again, a beautiful story ending coming out of a harsh beginning. Love stories that end this way, and T never fails us. Can't wait for Stryker/Reaper's story!! Amazing job, T!

Life has not been kind to Trey but maybe with the entrance of Freya it gets better!

Their story is filled with a mystery and a lol at a love story that had begun in the past!

They are a great couple that has the fun and funny moments and those quiet moments when they realize things about themselves and each other!

It had angst, heat, and heart! Perfection!
