"One chance. One moment. One last kiss. That was what she wanted. She would go through hell or whatever horror lay ahead for the chance to see her girlfriend again."
Eleven is a suspenseful, tension-fueled short horror story where the reader goes on a cryptic, 11-mile car ride with protagonist Kayla, who is following the rules of a mysterious Internet game with the hope of seeing her deceased girlfriend, Alexis, one more time. Suspense builds as each mile passes and strange, sinister happenings plague the drive, ratcheting up the terror and creep factor until the memorable and shocking conclusion.
Though only 18 pages in digital format, this short story does a wonderful job of conveying key information, giving the reader enough to have an idea of what's happening, but keeping enough shadowy and vague to leave the reader deliciously haunted and wanting more. This is a spooky, fun, quick, and awesome read that makes me really excited to read more of Briana Morgan's work.
What a ride! This was a fast, thrilling tale that kept the reader on the seat of their pants from beginning to end. We go on a journey with Kayla to help find her missing girlfriend, Alexis. The reader is told very little of the situation or how it came to this point, but it doesn't deter from story as a whole. Following Kayla on a mysterious and scary eleven mile car ride was executed well and we were rooting for her to make it to the end and be reunited with Alexis...or was she? You'll have to find out and read this short for yourself!
I think we forget sometimes how scary the internet can be. Eleven is a short story about a woman grieving the loss of her girlfriend and driven to dire straits. Desperate, she turns to an internet “game” for a chance to be reunited with her lover. This was a fast and tense story and I really enjoyed the concept of an urban legend spread through online message boards.
This story was available for free through the author’s newsletter, and I think it’s a good taster for the author’s work. I’m keenly interested in reading more of Briana Morgan’s work.
The build up of this short 21 page e-story/book was so so good. I couldn’t stop reading it. Follow the rules and get your wish. It’s the ending that puts the shock in you. I’ve never read anything by the author before but if her other horror stories or similar I’d definitely like to.
Great short story with a creeping dread building throughout. Oh, the lengths we will go when plagued by grief. What would you do for one more moment with a lost loved one?
This was such a fun, short story. Super quick and easy to read. And go lesbians! It reminded me of a creepy pasta story. I think it was written well, I stayed engaged the whole time too
