Praise for The Bible Recap "I have grown closer to God in ways I couldn't expect."
"It has helped me understand the Bible like never before."
This is a great resource for weekly discussion questions for a year long chronological Bible study plan. The questions are more application questions, whereas the daily questions have more to do directly with the text and the context.
In the Bible Recap Discussion Guide, Tara- Leigh Cobble has created a weekly guide designed for a study group setting. This guide will take you through the whole Bible in an entire year. This is a great tool to use along with the Bible Recap. This guide’s questions are uniquely geared towards personal reflection. She explained the term God shot as a way to witness and look out for daily snapshots of God’s character and attributes. She also included five daily prayers we can pray for these enclosed, “prayer for wisdom, to correct any lies we may be believing, direct our steps”, and much more. She also has a journal and a daily study guide available.
I would recommend this weekly discussion guide to anyone who is seeking a book to help you dig deeper into the message of the Bible. It makes a wonderful addition to the Bible Recap book. I would believe you would need both to go deeper into the message. She also has free podcasts and other free resources available to grow in our knowledge in the written Word. I loved how the weekly questions are easy to read and understand just like the original Bible Recap book. This is a great resource to use in a group setting such as reading with a few friends even if it’s a Facebook/Zoom group, a Sunday school class, or a small group. I liked how simple she tries to make it for readers to understand more of God’s character.
"I received this book free from the publisher, Bethany House/ Chosen for my honest review.”
This is a great new Bible tool – The Bible Recap by Tara-Leigh Cobble, will be helpful in taking your Bible study deeper with a group or yourself. It is recommend for group study, but you could also use it for individual study. The introduction and the web-site offers great tips on how to use and help to set up a reading plan. Also provide is some free helpful resource links and what to do before you read God’s Word each day.
I have been a past Bible leader and this book would have came in helpful, as it provides questions that I may not have thought of to ask. This resource will be helpful to provide questions as you go through a book of the Bible or if you are reading through the whole Bible as it is set up with a daily reading for a year. As there are questions for each book of the Bible book provides questions for the entire Bible.
I plan on using it at this time to use to read through the entire Bible during our homeschool time with my children. The book has left space for you to write your answers in the book, but I prefer to use a notebook to write my answers out, as I always have more to add when I am reading.
So, if you are planning a Bible study for yourself or with a group, this would definitely be a resource I would recommend adding.
The Bible Recap Discussion Guide with weekly questions for group conversations covering the entire Bible by Tara-Leigh Cobble is an excellent resource in the Bible Recap series. This guide features 52 weeks of daily Bible reading. This is a companion to the Bible Recap program. The journal is self guided. It has a daily reading plan but the discussion guide is broken down by weeks instead of days. For the first day you read Genesis 1-3. The first week covers Genesis 1-11 and Job 1-16. It follows the Bible chronologically. This book is intended for a weekly group discussion. This is mostly a discussion guide and not necessarily a place to write your answers. This discussion guide offers rich resources for those leading a group discussion, and following the Bible recap.
This is an excellent resource to go along with the Bible recap series. I was giving a free copy from the publisher for my honest review, which I was happy to do. I highly recommend this valuable resource.
Note: I received a complementary copy of this book from the publisher in return for my honest opinion. I did not read this book cover to cover as the questions are meant to be read and discussed over the course of an entire year. But I did read through a significant amount of the questions to familiarize myself with them.
I have read and used several books by Tara-Leigh Cobble for studying the Bible so I was excited to review this latest book from her. This discussion guide is perfect for your weekly Bible study groups at church. There are questions that relate directly to the reading plan provided by Cobble in her other works, via her website, or the podcast. (Personally I used her Bible reading plan on the YouVersion app.)
These questions are meant to help you dig deeper into your Bible reading.
If you don't have any other works by Cobble, you can still use this book quite easily.
this book is very helpful in reflecting on the Bible in answering questions within a group setting or on your own about the bible. I did enjoy looking up the Scriptures and thinking about the questions that were asked. Like the one above Mark 10:12, I myself think that if you divorce a man to marry another one you are not committing adultery but others may not see it that way.
The "The Bible Recap Discussion Guide" by Tara-Leigh Cobble is an exceptional resource for anyone passionate about deepening their understanding of the Bible. This guide serves as a thoughtful companion to the daily Bible reading plan, offering structured discussion prompts that encourage readers to delve deeper into the scriptures.
Tara-Leigh Cobble has crafted each question with precision, ensuring that readers are not only absorbing the text but also reflecting on its application to daily life. The guide is designed to facilitate meaningful conversation in group settings, making it an ideal choice for Bible study groups, family devotions, or personal reflection.
One of the strengths of this discussion guide is its ability to cater to both seasoned Bible readers and newcomers alike. Cobble’s insights bridge the gap between understanding the historical context of the scriptures and applying their timeless truths in a contemporary setting.
The layout of the guide is user-friendly, with questions organized thoughtfully to complement each day’s reading. The incorporation of space for personal notes is an added bonus, allowing readers to document their reflections and track their spiritual growth over time.
Overall, "The Bible Recap Discussion Guide" is a valuable tool that enhances Bible study by fostering deeper engagement with God's Word. It's a highly recommended resource for anyone looking to enrich their Bible reading experience.
