Lucas Rockwood ’s first yoga instructor told him it was impossible to earn a decent living teaching yoga. He was wrong. This $37 billion industry is growing at 10 percent annually. For savvy, business-minded teachers, there are more opportunities than hours in the day, offering the potential for a life of financial freedom and stability. Traditionally, yoga studio owners served as gatekeepers for teachers’ business opportunities. But today, independent teachers can choose where to live, when to work, and how much they earn. Yoga Business Mastery is a practical guide to the business side of teaching yoga. You’ll learn the mindset, positioning, sales, pricing, and packaging strategies needed to launch or expand your career. If you’re serious about turning your passion into a sustainable lifestyle, this book offers insider knowledge that will increase both your income and your impact.
Lucas Rockwood does, with this book, what YTT courses do not do, since this is not about yoga training but about what you do after you frame your beautiful diploma.
So much food for thought, so many ideas to implement, many business cases discussed, I am glad I bumped into this book and have found confirmation for many of the ideas I had about yoga teaching and the business, as it is a business, per se.
This was the best yoga business book I've read so far. It had information in it that went beyond what I learned in my Yoga Teacher Training. It was a step beyond the other two yoga business books I have. Even though I have a Masters in business, this book was still very helpful for the entrepreneurship side of the industry. It was also written in 2022 so it addresses recent changes to the yoga industry due to covid and Zoom.
It's worth combing through with a highlighter and actually sitting down and doing what it tells you.
Everyone who is passionate about yoga, especially if they want to get into this beautiful business, should read it! Full of advice, information, and tips from 'inside' the world of those who have worked in the yoga world for many years with deep passion and humility. The writer's voice is genuinely intimate, like that of a friend ready to lend you a hand, aware of the fact that to spread the wonder of yoga as a discipline for life, the more the merrier. Fresh, contemporary, highly recommended!
This book is exactly what I needed to read as a new Yoga teacher. So many great case studies and examples of how the lessons in the book translate to real life. It also helped me get over this imposter syndrome and feeling uncomfortable in charging for my services/knowledge, it really is like a yoga business book and pep talk all in one!
