When Darcy Fields married Clay Ferriman, she thought her dreams had come true. But living in constant fear for herself and her children was never part of the plan.
Rather than watch the woman he loves marry another, Holden Hart chose to leave. Now that he’s back, there’s no escaping the fact his feelings for his sister’s best friend remain unchanged.
Darcy wants to find happiness.
Holden wants to protect her.
They both want to be loved.
Will Darcy break loose from her marriage to a tyrant, or will Holden be too late to protect the one he loves?

Break Loose is dual pov and contains trigger warnings of domestic abuse and violence.
It follows Darcy and Holden as they live different lives in small town New Zealand.
Darcy's story is heartbreaking and gut-wrenching as she survives through domestic abuse at the hands of her husband. The strength of Darcy as a mother is the only thing that motivates her to improve her situation.
Holden is part of the Hellhounds MC and is determined to help Darcy and her children out of this terrible situation.
A quick and easy read with a lot of tension and anxiety. There is also hope and joy. The author writes with such flow and this book is definitely a page turner.
My goodreads rating is actually 4.5 - stars and it lost half a star because I would've loved the climax to be more graphic and drawn out longer (if you read this book and you're a bit of a sadist like me, you'll get it).
Break Loose is book 2 in the Hellhounds MC series and I have it on good authority that a third book is on the way! I'm sure it'll be another doozy!
While there are heavy themes explored in this novel, it is overall tame in comparison to many books in the Motorcycle Club Romance genre. The club itself lacked grit, and Holden didn't give me the fiercely protective, no-nonsense Jax Teller vibe. He did have a good heart, though. I also feel the connection between Holden and Darcy needed strengthening. We are told he's always loved her and that she's always trusted him, but we're not shown this. This could have been accomplished through flashbacks to the past. I just didn't feel like these were two people who had missed their chance to be together.
