Titus has two goals in life – kill rogues and get paid to do it.

Kendall spent more than a month in that closet when Titus finds her. She assumes he plans to take her to make money for himself.

But when he takes her to his home and tells her she can stay as long as she needs, she begins to wonder if there is more than meets the eye with this big, quiet guy.

After a while, she realizes he has not only become her best friend but that she’s falling head over heels for him.

It’s only a matter of time, though, before people like Titus come face to face with their enemies.
And this enemy has no problem using Kendall to punish Titus for his past.

Lynn Howard lives in Cedar Hill, MO, where all her sexy Shifters exist. She lives and breathes hot Alpha males and sassy brassy females. I really enjoyed this story. It hooked my interest right from the beginning. Kendall was kidnapped by traffickers and locked in a closet slowly starved for weeks. The men who'd abducted her were shifters (she didn't know there were people who could change into animals). Titus is an executioner for the Shifter Council. When he hunted down and killed the traffickers, he found a human woman locked away in a closet and brought her home to keep her safe. He lives a solitary life and has never brought anyone home. But he is powerfully drawn to Kendall in ways he can't understand. He needs to keep her safe. He had intended to work as an executioner until he died on the job. But only one day after meeting her, he began to want something more. Kendall is drawn to Titus even though she should fear him. He's been protective and considerate and welcomed her into his home. I really enjoyed these characters. Good world building. 5 stars

So awesome! Complaint! Toooo short lol!

Loved this book! Love all of Lynn Howard’s books tho! My only complaint is that it’s not a thousand pages long! Her books are so soul searching, bone loving, possessive male quaking -roller coaster of a ride. Titus and Kendall join the ranks of her other sweet couples who overcome obstacles to be together forever. She needed rescuing but really ended up rescuing him. Do not miss this one!

This story is an emotional roller coaster ride. The things Kendall endures in her life are painful and disturbing. The baggage she has to carry around would make any person distrustful. Titus is protective and caring. Their story is filled with mystery and suspense and action. This story grabs your attention and holds on. This reader kept turning the pages and devoured this book in one sitting.

A different kind of romance

I truly enjoyed reading this story. The complicated hero, who has to realize that he is one and the orphan heroine, who discovers she wants roots.

Oh yes! I loved every word of this fabulous story. Oh my goodness; Titus is the absolute best. He was sweet and gentle with Kendall yet vicious and ruthless when dealing with enemies. Speaking of Kendall that woman was fierce, determined, and a survivor. I loved her. The story was rich with excitement and action as well as being entertaining. It showed the power of love and making yourself vulnerable by trusting someone. I also loved that my beloved panthers made an appearance as well as my favorite bear, Noah. I freakin love Lynn Howard’s books. There like an electric blanket on a cold winters day. You settle in all nice a cozy and occasionally turn up the heat. Until next time y’all happy reading.

Titus and Kendall have a love story to rival those in Cedar Hill! I loved there story and their connection to each other, but it was also a thrill to see previous characters involved in the story. I love the way Lynn writes, making you feel like you're part of the story. I hope we see Titus and Kendall in future books!

Titus and Kendall are just too cute together. Titus rescued Kendall from an awful situation and although she's terrified, there is a connection to Titus that makes her feel safe. Both loners,.both broken in some way, the chemistry between them is next level and the way Titus loves!! Sigh! I loved.this book! So glad to have discovered this author.

I loved this book. Titus and Kendell are amazing. I loved how their story unfolded and even seeing previous characters. I cant wait to read more by Lynn Howard.
