I do not understand why Tyler felt the need to deny this man constantly. We never really got an insight as to why she was so hesitant to start a relationship with him. A conversation would’ve been appreciated.
But bar that, 4 stars alone for Midnight and the sex scenes that almost had me salivating. 🫠
°˖✧˚ʚ♡ɞ˚✧˖° This series keeps getting better and better! Again thank you to my friend Whit who introduced me to this author, because yeah I'm about to read them all. I'm gonna read the standalone novels too now FOR SURE.
Midnight is the second book in the King's Town series. It's also a short erotic novella featuring two people who had a one-night stand one year ago. They've always flirted around each other, but Tyler knows that this could be it. So, she's sort of afraid of everything with Midnight. But Midnight? Oof! This guy is SURE. He knows she's it for him and he's waiting for her to realize it, to voice it out. He's very much possessive, I mean HE TELLS EVERYONE NOT TO GET CLOSE TO TYLER BECAUSE SHE IS HIS. *screams* When she goes knocking on his door, angry about this, they end up having the best seccs of their life lmao. They're perfect together.
I love that even if they argue, if Tyler calls him to come pick her up from the club, Midnight will do it. It's 1 AM? HE DOESN'T MIND. HE'LL BE THERE FOR HIS GIRL! He'll cook for her, take care of her, put her to bed, and cuddle with her. But, you know, he also has a dirty mouth. Perfection.
”Why are you running?” YEAH GIRL BECAUSE WHY ARE YOU RUNNING FR?? SHEIWMWOSSK I ACTUALLY COULDNT PUT THIS DOWN. Shon had something cooking in the first book of this series, and I just knew it would get better from there, and I was RIGHT. MIDNIGHT IS SOOO DOWN BAD FOR TYLER 🤌🏾😭 I was not expecting this from him especially based on the first book, but what a MAN HE IS. If you like friends to one night stand to lovers, you’ll devour this like I did. LAWDDD THIS IS MY FAVORITE ONE OUT OF THE SERIES
Ended just when it was getting started. Midnight gave glorious book boyfriend energy but Tyler came off super flighty. I did enjoy this book so much more than the first book.
If you are looking for a slice-of-life, super sexy, novella that was more like a serial then this is the read for you. Dare I say this is the perfect slump break as long as you go into it knowing it is a slice-of-life story.
2.5 Stars Book 2 in the Kings Town series and just like book 1 it’s a quick read. Characters from book 1 appear. The one night stand between Tyler and Midnight turns into more. An interracial romance. Very steamy. Sadly I enjoyed book 1 more.
Midnight & Tyler omg ! This book is so freaking good all I got to say is read read read! Add it to your reading list asap Shon did her thing !! But Tyler did get on my nerve a lil but still Read !!!
This is an interracial romance, which the author has a disclaimer at the beginning for those that might not be interested.
I enjoyed it though. Tyler was having a drought and it had been months. She couldn't figure out what shifted. For some reason men were giving her weird signals which had left her high and dry....All things point her back to Midnight. Unbeknownst to her Midnight had laid claim on her and she wasn't ready to be claimed by anyone for that matter....well that's what her mind said. Her body was saying something opposite. Since meeting him they had an unspoken connection, that had turned into a lot of flirting but an imaginary line was drawn. Once they obliterated that line they both, especially Midnight, had a hard time going back to being associates. He wanted to experience everything with Tyler, while Tyler was busy trying to downplay her feelings. It was VERY clear that he owned her body. This was sexy and the chemistry was definitely felt, but it needed more. There was not enough development on who Tyler was. All we got is surface level ish.. it's easy to be beautiful, but why was she so hesitant about this amazing connection. What jaded her? The back story to how Midnight got his name opened us up to him and we needed that for Tyler. The story ended before we got to see what the next phase looked like for them. I was definitely intrigued though which is why I rounded up from 3.5 stars.
A Sexy Short about Tyler & Midnight……Midnight knew from the beginning Tyler was the one for him….she just needed to come to terms with it…..It started off with him pretending to be her boyfriend….then a one night stand….the occasionally hooking up…but Midnight knew he wanted Tyler to be his….Tyler just had to catch up and understand they belong together.
I'm not even really into contemp romance and I still want to read the next book. I love Shon's writing, and she definitely brings the heat.
That being said, plot was kind of dull, not very plotty. Or, like I said, contemp plots ("we can't be together because it feels too good to be true") bore me; it didn't seem like there were any real obstacles to their relationship. I also felt like Tyler and Midnight didn't have as much depth as Majesty and Josiah.
Can't wait to read Ryann's story, it sounds cute 🥰
Giving a white character the name Midnight is extremely misleading. Considering his race never came up in book one, I think it's safe to say everyone thought Midnight was black. So, when it was revealed he was white, I was pissed because, I don't read interracial romance. The disclaimer should NOT be given at the beginning of the book. It should be given in the synopsis so readers are aware BEFORE they purchase it. By her not doing that, this feels deceitful and purposeful on the author's part. Since I think returning books is tacky, I read the damn thing because I spent my money. I can begrudgingly say I loved Midnight but, I couldn't stand Tyler. That chic was difficult for no damn reason and there's no kind of backstory that would explain why she made Midnight jump through so many hoops. Tyler is definitely my least favorite MFC in this series.
Tyler was irking all my nerves running from Midnights sexy ass, yet he set her straight. I hope we get more on why she ran from what was obviously the best sex she'd ever had and a true friend in Midnight. He was a solid dude and the friendship they built that turned into the hottest bedroom, or all over the place bc he had her in all types of compromising positions 😏, chemistry. While these stories aren't anywhere near as long as I would love for them to be, I'm glad Tyler finally stopped playing games with my good man Midnight.
Alright! You surprised me Midnight, in more ways than one! I loved his patience with Tyler, cause lawd she was a whole mess! Girl, you got a fine man willing to give and do whatever for you, and what do you do? Run?? For what? 😳 Okay, maybe he wasn't the package that you anticipated, but at the end of the day, a good man is a good man right? Her back and forth was crazy, but he was there for her everytime! Glad she got her ish together, FINALLY! Ryann, you next ma'am! What's up with Sebastian? Good read.
Once again I LOOOOOVED this book! Midnight gave me serious Fezco vibes lol. Hard edges honed by a rough life, but a soft interior for the ones he lets get close. Ty fought for her life but we all knew it was a loosing battle soon as he looked at her the first time. Diving right into book 3!
I was wondering why a white man's name was Midnight? This seemed like a tease. Tyler was playing games and denying her love for Midnight. Midnight is attempting to leave the friendzone. Something about Kings Town men is that they don't play around with their ladies. This was a quick pace, and I hoped to see more growth of the relationship than just desire. All Midnight seemed to want was a chance... Tyler eventually agreed. I am interested in reading more about KingsTown.
Midnight is about an interracial couple. Midnight is a restaurant who has had it out for Tyler since he met her. Tyler was running from being in a relationship with Midnight.
Tyler bothered me because ma’am just say how you feel and don’t string this man along.
This was a cute novella. I liked Midnight and the way he was always trying to get Tyler to admit that there was more to them than what they shared in the bedroom. I also enjoyed getting a glimpse into how his name came to be because I was not expecting a white dude named Midnight after reading the first book in this series. This book left me wanting more from Tyler and Midnight and to see how their relationship progresses when she isn’t running from him and her feelings.
I love Midnight 🥰 he has a vulnerability about him that speaks to my heart! But he still applied pressure! Tyler got on my last nerve running from this man. Also I feel like the female characters from books 1 & 2 were too much alike.
This is said to be an interracial relationship, but the only description was that he had blue eyes…don’t know what this man look like, or even his hair color.
“The second another man touches you, I’m sending him to his grave. Tell me you understand that.”
HE COOKED FOR HER. LIKE HER COMFORT MEAL TOO. I love this series. I love this man. The only thing that icked me was how long it took Tyler to see how good he is ?!
