Series: Borderland Rebels #2 Publication Date: 9/15/20 Number of Pages: 248
OMGoodness – what an exciting, fast-paced, romantic read! We first learned of the Fletcher family in this author’s wonderful series, Borderland Ladies, where the brother, Drake is the Captain of the Guard at the English Werrick Castle. The first book in this series, Faye's Sacrifice, introduced us to all of the sisters and we could already tell that Kinsey was going to be a hand full. Well, we have certainly found out that she definitely is!
Of all of the Fletcher children, Kinsey holds the strongest grudge against the English for her family’s treatment after the death of their father – who was English. She wants nothing more than to exact revenge against all of them – and when the opportunity presents itself, well – it is an opportunity she just cannot refuse. Little does she know the many ways that one quick decision will change her life.
Kinsey is fiery (not only in her red hair), strong, defiant, feisty, devastatingly beautiful, and totally disinterested in anything other than revenge. When a soldier who is off to fight the English offers her the opportunity to be his army’s archer, she jumps at it. They leave at dawn the following morning to attack Mabrick Castle and return its ownership back to the soldier's family. Kinsey doesn’t understand the odd feelings this soldier invokes in her, but she knows she needs to steer clear of him.
William MacLeod, the only son of the MacLeod Laird, has to prove himself to his father in order to retain his right to inherit the Lairdship of the clan. William decides that he and his army will re-take Mabrick Castle from the English who took it from them. As he is traveling through the small village of Castleton, Scotland, he sees a vibrant, beautiful, fiery-haired woman who can wield a bow better than any man he’s ever seen. He approaches her and offers her a spot as an archer in his army. I mean goodness she’s beautiful AND skilled, so maybe he can have a great addition to his army and someone to warm his bed as well. After all, he is charming and handsome with a lovely smile. All of the wenches love him, why wouldn’t this one?
With Kinsey bound and determined to resist the flirtatious, and handsome William, it doesn’t take long for the tensions to mount between them. I love how Kinsey stood up for herself and how William respected her desires – until they found out that love had grown between them. When decisions have to be made, will love be the deciding factor? You’ll just have to read this exciting and romantic book to find out.
There is a nice excerpt for the next book, Clara’s Vow, and it looks to be just as exciting as this book. Can’t wait for it either.
Another great read from this consistently great author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Kinsey Fletcher has always been protective of the weak, so when she’s offered a chance to fight with Scottish rebels to reclaim lands taken by the English, she takes it, eager for revenge against those who took from her family. She soon finds herself unwittingly drawn to the group’s all-too-charming leader. No matter how much she wishes to ignore it, the connection she feels with him is undeniable.
As the only son of Laird Macleod, Sir William MacLeod should be his father’s heir, but the callous man refuses to name him as such unless he can prove his skill as a leader. William decides to join the campaign of King David, newly returned to Scotland from exile. When he meets Kinsey and easily convinces her to join his army as an archer, he hopes to convince her to give him other favors just as easily, only to quickly learn that his charm won’t serve him this time if he hopes to win her heart.
The heat of battle isn’t an ideal setting for romance, but that doesn’t stop the love developing between Kinsey and William. But with their misaligned futures and William’s responsibilities, not to mention the dangers all around them, they may be torn away from each other regardless of their desires.
I loved this book. I usually have mixed feelings about this sort of trope in which the heroine is “feisty” because this often just comes off to me as a rude or hateful heroine rather than a strong one. While it did take me a couple chapters to warm to Kinsey, I did wind up loving her and could definitely relate to her feelings. I loved how completely gobsmacked William was by Kinsey and how she changed his whole modus operandi. The emotions here, of all the characters, not just William and Kinsey, were portrayed very well and it was clear that they all felt very deeply. This sharpened my connection with all the characters and endeared them to me all the more, plus the fast pacing kept me engaged and not wanting to put the book down. This one was excellent and I’m looking forward to Clara’s story (totally shipping her and Reid) and especially Drake’s story now.

This is the second book in the series & whilst it could easily be read on its own, the author’s books are so well researched & written that I'd recommend reading the whole series. Brilliant characters, a story that flowed effortlessly, this story began slowly but quickly the pace increased & at times I was on the edge of my seat & oh boy the emotional roller coaster I was taken on. But the romance between William & Kinsey was a delight, from their first meeting until they thought they must part. Another stunning romance that had me in tears & then laughing to biting my nails - brilliant My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Madeline Martin has the talent of a writer that many readers look forward to reading. She keeps it simple with her writing. She shares encouragement when her characters are at their darkest moments and she shares confidence that keeps her readers glued to the pages, curious to know what will happen next. This is a book to read. The excitement of the action, drama, suspense and romance drew me in to reading this story. I really like how the writer chooses her characters to always being the lead heroine. The writer also writes the leading lady as being a strong character. This type of writing is always a joy to read. I love how after reading Madeline Martins books. I feel as though I have actually read a historical romance novel that’s worth reading. She writes what her fans ask for. She writes for her fans where she transports their mine away to a place of calmness and entertainment for awhile. This book will leave the readers excited to read the next book. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
She is set on revenge. He wants to prove himself to his father. The two together are explosive!!
Meeting by chance, William lured Kinsey into joining his band against the English. She was an excellent archer and he needed one as he and his group fought the English to take back Mabrick Castle. Kinsey decided she would join them.. The English had killed her father!
An attraction began between the two, but she knew he attracted women like honey and she was not going to be pulled in.. No, she would not... I mean no... Well the best laid plans!
A long journey to their happy ending finds them in the middle of intrigue, sadness, sacrifice, deception and a strong attraction that cannot be denied! An exciting story created by one of my very favorite authors that never fails to pull my heart into the story and sigh as I turn the last page!
Kinsey is one tough cookie, William is probably the only man who is capable of being her partner. He’s confident, unless he’s with his father, he’s honest and passionate about his work and his life. Keeps his friends close and really cares about them.
Kinsey is similar in most ways , though through most of the book they seem so different. They make a great couple .
The book is action packed with excellent characters and storyline, it has thrills and is a very satisfying read.
Can’t wait to read Clara and Reid’s story and of course Drake must have a love out there somewhere.
A wonderful book that held my attention beginning to end.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
Kinsey Fletcher burns for revenge against the English. Although she is the youngest of the Fletcher children and half-English herself, Kinsey knows that English turned their backs on her family when her English father died, leaving her mother to survive on her own with four young children. Times were hard, but thanks to their mother’s determination and Drake’s hard work, they now live a comfortable life on the border, but deep inside, Kinsey still wants to make the English pay for the pain they caused. So, when she meets the oh-so handsome and much too charming William MacLeod who is looking for recruits to fight for young King David, she jumps at the chance.
William MacLeod is on a mission, to prove his father is wrong about him. His father is Laird of Dunscaith Castle and has declared that William is a disappointment and not fit to be his heir. So William decides there is no better way to prove his worth than by taking back Mabrick Castle, which was stolen from the MacLeods by the English. He recruits an army and when he sees Kinsey’s skill with a bow, he sets out to charm her into joining him, not only is she exactly what his army needs to win, but she is also incredibly attractive to him, he figures he can have his cake and eat it too. However, Kinsey is not swayed by his charm and demands to be treated like any other solider under his command. William is taken aback, but Kinsey is an accomplished archer and exactly what he needs succeed against the English and prove to his father that he is worthy of being his heir, so he agrees to her conditions. But he hasn’t given up on winning her affection.
It isn’t long before the blurred lines of Kinsey’s loyalties are tested and the aftermath of her choices are heartbreaking. And try as she might to resist, Kinsey finds herself succumbing to William’s engaging personality and gets to know the man beneath the charming exterior. A man she would like to know better, but when it becomes clear that she can never compete with his need to prove himself to his father and the realities of war weigh her down, Kinsey decides that she has had enough and wants to return home. William agrees to let her go, but requests her help with one final mission. A mission that will test her in ways that she could never imagine and may cost her everything.
This was a well written, fast paced story with lots of action and strong characters. William is a complex character who hides a sensitive heart and brilliant mind behind a charming smile and Kinsey is a strong, determined woman who’s desire for revenge will be tested against her love for her family. This book has a little bit of everything; wonderful characters, action, adventure, intrigue, betrayal, sacrifice, heartbreak, steamy love scenes, more heartache, interspersed with moments of levity and finally a hard-won HEA. I loved this deep, rich story, and while it is not a light, fluffy tale neither is it dark and dismal, in short, this is a book you can sink your teeth into, savor the story and finish with great satisfaction. I am happy to recommend this book, it is the second book in the series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone title.

Will her need for revenge put her on the right path for her future ...
Oh my! How I loved this second installment, I had my doubts at first as Kinsey has quite a temper. Yet, it is the issues of her past that drove her to follow a different road than her family. While Mrs Martin spared us most of the ugliness of the battlefields and the side atrocities, it is still a violent and bloody tale. It even enhances the nerve and guts of Kinsey, running straight in battle instead of running away. It takes more than a little courage to jump in when death is mostly the outcome. William wants to show his father he is the right man for the job, even if he does not agree with the way they sometimes enter the fight. He never expected it would put on his path the most unconventional woman, the archer he desperately needs. He is in some way a player, never having to do anything to attract women to his bed, until this one. He feels there is a spark between them but she resists as she wants to be taken seriously. I loved how their relationship moved from challenging one another to friendship then more until the reach a cliff where they must make a choice.
An adventurous story of war, love and loss, about the weight of the past and the power love bring up. 5 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Kinsey's Defiance Borderland Rebels #2 Madeline Martin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Kinsey Fletcher is one heck of an archer and has always been one who stood up for those who could not defend themselves. So when a mysterious man compliments her archery skills and makes her an offer she can't refuse, she agrees to join a group of Scottish rebels that are fighting to reclaim stolen land. She knows just how it feels to have everything ripped out from under her by the English and has just the right amount of anger to drop everything and follow them straight into battle. The leader of the group might be too charming for his own good, but she finds herself drawn to him like a moth to a flame.
William MacLeod is the only son of Laird MacLeod, but finds himself having to prove himself because his father has let it be known that if William does not prove himself a leader, he will not be named heir. So to prove himself worthy William goes on a campaign with the newly returned King of Scotland. When William see's what a great archer the beautiful Kinsey is he convinces her to join his cause. He thinks that she will be easily won over, but he soon learns it will take more than charm to win her heart.
Will they be able to find love in this time of strife and danger? Or will they just become another casualty of the times?
Wow just wow....Madeline Martin has just kicked it up a notch. I honestly didn't think that this author could get any better, but it seems I was wrong. This book is just exploding with action. It took me so long to read this book because I was afraid to read a little to fast and miss something. Kinsey was everything you could ever have wanted in a strong heroine who regularly kicks butt. William was the tricky, yet charming hero that you want to kiss. Together they were a force to be reckoned with. They were so in love, but just didn't know it. I felt like I was in on a special secret knowing they were destined to be with one another before they did. There is no shortage of passion either. This book was one of the best that I have ever read. Ms. Martin thank you for writing such a perfect book.
This second book in the Borderland Rebels series introduces us to Kinsey, who is definitely a feisty heroine if there ever was one. She is a talented archer and catches the eye of Sir William MacLeod who is trying to prove himself worthy to his father and decides he wants her to join his army of men, though not only as an archer but perhaps for something more. The story is action packed and very exciting with characters I couldn’t help but fall in love with. Once again Ms Martin had me captivated from beginning to end and I couldn’t put it down until I was finished. This is definitely another must read that I have no hesitation in recommending. I am honored that I was given the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.
"Kinsey's Defiance" is the 2nd book in The Borderland Rebels series and is a fast paced adventure that will leave you on the edge of your seat and hold you through the end and leave you wanting more. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this amazing series that feature strong, independent and amazing women. I Loved every minute of it. I received an Advanced copy but am voluntarily leaving an honest review. Any and ALL opinions are my own.
Kinsey Fletcher is one of a kind, beautiful, skilled with a bow, and armed with an attitude that doesn’t allow her to back down from danger or what she feels needs to be done, kind of leading lady. She’s also one quick to speak her mind and put a man in his place. It really is no surprise she knocked down the walls and stole the heart of William MacLeod, the handsome, calculating leader of a band of warriors fighting for king, country, and his rightful heirship.
Impressed with her skill, William recruits Kinsey to his cause not knowing she’s carrying some baggage and secrets of her own. This tall, dark, flirtatious at times hero may be a major lass magnet, but Kinsey ultimately is the only bonny woman he wants. Honor, duty, and commitment, however, almost make him lose the war of winning and keeping her heart.
Their romance unfolds to and from the battle fields, folks. Though it may be simmering in the background, make no mistake it also feels front and center. Since they are in the thick of things, there is quite a bit of drama and danger as their war party besiege castles and try to stay one step ahead of the enemy. The pace moved along steadily, so there was no time to get bored.
Romance Safety Gang:
Title: Kinsey’s Defiance, Series: Borderland Rebels (Book 2), Author: Madeline Martin, Pages: 248, stand-alone but part of a series, warrior bow and arrow heroine, determined leader hero, get to know each other first, only a couple graphic smexy scenes, bloody battle fight scenes, celibate after meeting heroine, no OM/OW drama-except lasses flirting with him in front of her.
Book .5 - The Highlander’s Lady Knight Book 1 - Faye’s Sacrifice Book 2 - Kinsey’s Defiance Book 3 - Clara’s Vow
(I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not given any payment or compensation for this review. There is no affiliation or relationship between this reviewer and the author/publisher/PR firm.)
Kinsey's Defiance is the second book in the Borderland Rebels series. However, you don't have to read the first one to know whats going on. I actually haven't read the 1st book about Kinsey's sister Faye yet, and this made me want to go back and read it just because I loved the characters in this story so much.
Kinsey is the youngest of the sisters. She has skill with a bow and arrow and not much patience for men; especially Englishmen smiling at her and her sister. When William sees her and her skill with the bow and arrow, he wants her for both his army and for himself. He convinces Kinsey to join his group of Scottish rebels in the fight to reclaim stolen land. He soon learns that unlike other women she's not going to just fall into his arms. She wants to be treated like all of his other warriors. And in fact she does win the respect of both him and his men as an archer in the rebel army.
I loved this story. I love William and how even though he wanted Kinsey from the beginning he always treated her with respect and honor. He came to value her as both an archer and his woman. This book will drag you into it so much that you will not want to put it down. There's plenty of action and battles, and the heartache that will make you want to cry as a result of some of those battles, and of course romance. William and Kinsey were perfect for each other and I loved their romance. I highly recommend this if you love Scottish Medieval romances with action and adventure in it.
I was given an ARC of this book, but am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I read the first story in the series, Faye's Sacrifice and didn't think the author could top my feelings for that story. This is just as amazing and maybe more heart pounding.
There is a lot of action, the fight scenes were written so vividly that I felt part of the action. This story is very suspenseful and some twists. There is sadness at the beginning that was emotional.
The H/h romance built slowly and you could tell they were falling in love, even though they didn't. There is lovemaking, outside of marriage, heat level 4.5 out of 5. Doesn't last forever, just filled with passion and parts somewhat descriptive, but I didn't find erotic, but that is a personal thing. I think it is described only twice.
The h is feisty, but not in a 'b' way. She is very talented with the bow and arrow and insists she is treated and paid the same as the men, because she is that good.
The relationship the H has with his father is not the best. He seems he can never do anything right and the father never lets him forget it. The ending with the H and his father was emotional.
This story ends at the 95% mark because it has a great blurb for the h's sister story in the next book. No cheating, no cliffhanger, great ending, romance and steam. I received an advanced copy, all opinions are my own and freely given. (ljb)
I love when a book grips me and takes me on a heart stopping journey as in Kinsey's Defiance. Madeleine Martin weaves a story from beginning to end with threads of the dark and turbelent times between Scotland and England. It comes to life with all the danger, vengeance, and danger, torment and strife in this action-packed rollercoaster ride full of tension-building twists and turns that will keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. It's a story With remarkable emotions, filled with characters that come off the pages and pulls you into their tale, that is smoothly written, with a excellent plott, great dialogue and with scenes are so strikingly detailed that it paints an incredible backdrop that makes you feel like you are one with the story which brings this read together perfectly. William, a swoon worthy rogue, and Kinsey, a spitfire wanting revenge against the English, together will find themselves spiraling down into a vortex of war and mayhem in this heart stopping love story that unfolds beautifully with drama, searing passion, uncertainties, death and as the suspense builds and tensions escalate with the twist and turns abound that makes this one story that will remain in your heart long after the last page is turned!
FAN-TAST-IC!!!! I wish I could give this story 10 star as it is so well deserved. Kinsey's Defiance by Madeline Martin is book 2 in the A Borderland Rebels series and oh what a series this is! There is nothing that I like better than a bad a** heroine and Madeline Martin sure know how to write them. Madeline has a true talent for capturing a real medieval theme and is one of the best writers of today. Truly Brilliant! Her characters are amazing and though in a series this book can be read as a standalone. I can’t wait for book 3 in this series. This story has battles, a women archer, a brother who fights for the wrong side yet is loving and chivalrous, seeking a father’s approval, a loving family, death, grief, an arranged marriage and yes, love. It has it all and I highly recommend you read this book or any of Madeline Martin’s books as you won’t be disappointed.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Kinsey's Defiance is the 2nd book in the Borderland Rebels Book, Kinsey Fletcher is half Scottish and half English, and is set for vengeance against the English, for the betrayal of her and her family after her English father is killed in combat.
William MacLeod is looking for an archer for his army to attack the English and get back what was taken from them. One look at Kinsey, displaying her expertise with her bow and arrow, he knew she is the one he needs to complete his army.
Will she agree to his plea to join his Army and will they find love while fighting for Scotland?
Oh my gosh what an incredible read. From the first page you’re drawn in to the story. Kinsey a brave and strong warrior who is an incredible archer who has a strong love of family and Scotland. Is approached by William to become his archer in his battle to take back land that the English took form them. Can Kinsey leave her family and go against her brother who works for and English lord. Can they both stand the test. Will they find love at the end of it all. I guess you’ll have to read the book to find out. Remember this is book two in this series. I you enjoy this series you Might want to try Madelines other series they are all amazing
I love the borderland series and I am dying to read the next book. This book is about Kinsey Fletcher, she has always stood up for who the people who can not defend theirselves. She joins a group of Scottish rebels who are fighting to reclaim stolen land. But she starts to feel something for the leader. William MacLeod is the Laird of MacLeod only son. But William has to prove to his dad that he can be a leader in order for him to become a leader. So William decided to go on campaign with the returned King of Scotland. But then he meet Kinsey and convinces her to join. But soon they have feeling for each other. This story was amazing and I loved the characters and the plot were incredible. I love Madeline Martin writing style and characters.
Kinsey's skill as an archer drew William's attention to her. He knows she's going to make a great addition to his army, but he's got no clue about the way she's going to take over his heart. For her part Kinsey's out for adventure and to make the English pay. Too soon she realizes that actual battle is not adventurous at all. William sees her struggle and offers her support, which soon grows to love. Unfortunately his dad wants him to marry for making an ally of a neighbouring clan. When William defies him for love, will the couple survive? I'm enjoying this series almost as much as the one it's a spin-off from. The strong female characters, the alpha Scot males, and the ever present hint of the mystery of why their mom is estranged from their grandfather. Can't wait to read Clara's Vow.
Feisty Kinsey Fletcher is offered a chance to fight with Scottish rebels when William MacLeod is the only son of Laird MacLeod asked her to be a part of his archery unit. Kinsey would love nothing better than go fight the English she hates so much and William has given her an opportunity she cannot turn down. Kinsey bound and determined to resist the flirtatious William, but love develops. Will circumstances keep them apart? William has other responsibilities trying to prove to his father he’s the rightful heir. I have voluntarily read and reviewed the excellent book.
I received this book as an ARC, and I was so excited to read it. Madeline Martin is an amazing writer, and this book was no exception. Kinsey's Story was such fun to read. She was a spitfire independent heroine, and Madeline did a great job bringing her character to life while still being able to make sure she fit with the time period. The banter between her and William was so entertaining to read. The action, adventure, and growing relationship between Kinsey and William had me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
What an Amazon series! I love “Faye’s Sacrifice“ and Madeline Martin is most assuredly one of my favorite authors. She has a wonderful way of capturing your imagination with her attention to historical detail, her ability to evoke a whole gamut of emotions, engaging plots and fascinating characters that you relate to and emphasize with. And so she weaves the beautifully written story of “Kinsey’s Defiance”, a story of choices and divided loyalties tested within the realm of hearts, minds and actions.
Madeline’s characters are amazing as always. They are full of depth and their full and true natures are developed and revealed as the story progresses. Kinsey is quite a character, intelligent, strong, brave and courageous with a bit of a fiery personality. She hates the English though her brother, Drake is the Captain of the Guard at the English Werrick Castle and she is part English on he father’s side and yet when he died her family was left to fend for themselves. She holds the English responsible and wants revenge for her family’s suffering. Always ready to defend those who cannot defend themselves. As an excellent archer and very much needed she joins William McLeod and his band intent on restoring Mabrick Castle to his family. Both she and William have a reason hate the English and exact revenge.
William McLeod’s father, Laird of Dunscaith Castle considers him unfit to be Laird and heir. What better way to prove his worth and standing than to return the stolen castle to the McLeod family. Though there was an attraction between the two Kenzie was determined not to be one of the charming and roguish William’s conquest rather she wanted to be taken seriously as an archer, like any other soldier.
I enjoyed watching the relationship between Kinsey and William develop and evolve. During this campaign of King David William decides he wants this beautiful woman, not only is an archer or someone to warm his bed, he wants to claim her heart. Kinsey felt a strange connection to William but held her ground until she couldn’t any longer. The love story is so entrancing as these two come to realize just what they mean to one another.
Thank you Madeline for such an exciting, and beautifully written love story. What a lovely way you have of invoking the past for the reader. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this story and cannot wait for Clara’s story.

Kinsey is an accomplished archer and when William sees her he offers her a job as archer for his army. She agrees as she wants revenge against the English for how they treated her family after her father died. She quickly realizes battle is harder than she thought. Their attraction is a highlight in their lives as not all goes as they hope. Their road to happiness is a long one filled with desperation and uncertainty.
There wasn't a target that Kinsey couldn't hit with her now and arrow. William McCleod needed an archer for his band of warriors and offered her the job. A man's pay for a man's job . Leaving her Mom and sister with just a note she strike out to fight the English except the English soldiers is not all she found. This series has kept me spellbound from the very beginning and I can't wait for the next book!
A lady that is spot on as an archer and a charmer that has not been turned down before clash heads as they join to fight for The Bruce. Kinsey doesn't want or need a man but she is drawn to the man that has recruited her to fight for Scotland's freedom. The story Madeline Martin has woven is a wonderful story of just how far a lady will go for freedom and the man she has to fight herself over.
I really enjoyed this story about Kinsey an archer and William leader of a band trying to take back Scotland's land. Though William would like more than Kinsey's archery skills she remains aloof. But their attraction for each other and the horrors of fighting bring down Kinsey's guard. Now they are both in danger of losing their hearts if the can stay alive. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Great story. I love the action and romance. Kinsey was a lovable heroine. I really enjoy a story with a strong heroine, nothing irks me more than an addle brained female. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
Kinsey’s Defiance is the second book in the exciting Borderland Rebels series. The book was interesting and kept my attention. This series takes place on the borderland of Scotland and England where raids were common practice. The Fletcher family had lived in England until their English father had died. After his death, their neighbors had treated them horribly and so they moved to a town on the border Scotland. Kinsey Fletcher remembered the treatment her family received and never forgave the English. When William MacLeod offers her a chance to join a group of Scottish rebels to help the return of the King of Scotland, she feels this is the chance for revenge. William charmed Kinsey into joining their group thinking she would be his for the taking like all the women are, he never dreamed Kinsey would resist him. I’ve loved all the characters in the series, but Kinsey is not one of my favorites. I felt she was very immature and didn’t think about how her actions would affect her family, especially her brother who she knew she would have to fight against. Her immature choices forced him to choose between his future and her life. She was impetuous and didn’t think about the consequences. I received an ARC from the author and am willingly leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
William is on a mission to prove that he should be his father's heir and the next laird of his clan. He has gathered his men and is ready to fight for the newly returned King of Scotland. When he sees a much needed archer in a town they are traveling through, he asks the archer to join them. He hopes she says yes...
Kinsey has always stood up for those that need it and when offered the chance to fight the English, she jumps at the opportunity to go against the country that took so much from her. What she didn't count on was the mutual attraction she found with William. While they have decided to keep their relationship purely business, they can't seem to fight their attraction.
I adored William and Kinsey together!! I loved the bantering between these two and how Kinsey helped William to see that he was good enough just as he was. This was a great addition to the Borderland Rebels series!
