This is Micah and Holly's story! Love big, tough billionaires who are complete softies for their women? You're going to love Micah.

I'm worth billions, but i'd trade it all for her ring on my finger.
Holly's husband was an abusive POS, and now that he's out of the way, it's time to make her mine.

She's been hurt, scarred, but she's so f*cking tough, she saved herself. She made it out alive.

But how does a grumpy, mostly silent giant like me convince a tiny thing like her to give me a chance? It seems impossible.

Then with raging twist of fate and flame, I see my opening. Now she's in my home, in my bed, and I will use every tool in my arsenal to make sure she never wants to leave.

Every breath in my body is hers, and when she finally realises the power she has over me? Well, there are bound to be flames of a different kind.

CW: Holly and Micah have both come from tough places. This book deals with adult topics like domestic abuse, sexual assault, physical abuse of a child and pregancy loss. HEA guaranteed. Lots of laughs and plenty of spice.

So apparently, not everyone has entire worlds and a whole cast of made up characters living in their head.

I bought my first book on how to write romance fifteen years ago.

And did absolutely nothing with it.

Until one day, tired of all my wishing and doubting, I sat down and started writing. The plan was to prove to myself that I sucked.

Turns out, not only do I not suck, I tell really great stories.

And those people who live in my head? They’ve been desperate to get out.

I am an adoptive and foster mom. I have a soft spot in my heart for kids from tough places.

This book’s title should have been Holly!
The story was mostly based on Holly’s trauma and issues and not on Micha.

Holly was married to an abusive POS and made it out alive. She’s trying to figure herself out and get her life back. Micah has had his eyes on his new receptionist since she first arrived.l but he knows she scared and scarred so he keeps his distance.

Cute story about escaping abuse and learning to live again. I really admire Holly’s strength and determination! Micah is so sweet and understanding. He pushes her to be herself and move at her own speed. Loved them.

Micah, Micah, Micah… you just had to go and make me fall in love with you!
Micah is absolutely book boyfriend material. He’s a gentle giant (though he wasn’t always gentle) who works on cars all day and curls up at home with his cat and reads books at night. Oh, and he totally loves the girl who works at the front desk of the garage he works in, and knows ASL so he can communicate with her. But she thinks he hates her because he doesn’t realise he’s giving her the mean mug when he looks at her. Micah has a brain injury which affected his spoken language, so he struggles to speak more than 3 consecutive words and relies on sign to communicate with his brothers, and now with her.
Holly’s a tiny woman who has run from her abusive husband. She’s a little timid, and completely traumatised. When she took the job from Becca at the garage, everything was going okay until her husband found her and threatened her, Becca and three of her bosses with a knife. Luckily, Becca is a ninja and beat the hell out of him and now he’s in prison for 20 years.
When Holly’s apartment building has a fire and burns down, she ends up in the hospital. Micah decides that once she’s released she will come home with him and he will care for her, along with a home nurse twice a day. At first, Holly is resistant and understandably frightened, but as time goes on, with Micah’s help, she begins to heal from both her injuries and her trauma. It’s a difficult journey but one that is absolutely worth reading! I highly recommend this book! The writing is much better in this one than in Kade (book 1 of this series) too - it’s not perfect but honestly it adds to the charm.

Oh Jenna Myles I am falling in love with The Brash Brothers. I loved Kade but Micah is just too perfect. I want one.

Don't get me wrong these billionaires are broken and damaged and not perfect upstanding citizens but they are good, loyal, sexy as hell men. The family they built for themselves is what really makes them rich not the empire they built out of nothing. I'm so glad Micah's story came after Kade's I wanted to hear more about him from the moment we met him in Kade's story. You did not disappoint.

Micah and his brothers have all suffered emotional and physical abuse in many ways but Micha's abuse has left a reminder that he will never be rid of and anger inside him that wasn't always easy to control.
Holly escaped a marriage that would have ended with her dead one day and she lives in fear daily, meeting Becca has changed her life in many ways. Deep down though she still feels unworthy, and too damaged to be any good to anyone.

The two have an instant connection but it's broken by Holly's fear and Micah's anger and inability to communicate the way he wishes he could. The miscommunication could have ended any chance they have.

This story has some truly beautiful moments between the main characters as well as the moments between the Brash Brothers. It is funny, sweet, and endearing and the spicy moments are enough to make your toes curl.

I can't recommend Jenna Myles series enough and I can't wait for Colt's story to come next.

Holly is still struggling every day with what Brent did not just to her but to her friend Becca. Becca places the blame where it belongs with Brent but years and years of mental abuse make it hard for Holly to see anything but her failings. Having Micah, the first man she felt a pull towards ever, constantly growling and frowning at her is starting to wear her down. She wonders if she should move on from her job at the garage to get away.

Micah is captivated by Holly, from the moment he met her he knew she was his, but he ruined what they could have had. Now all he can do is watch over her. Even that he seems to make a mess of though. When Becca tells him Holly is convinced he hates her, Kade suggests that he apologize and make it right before he loses her for good.

Before Micah can make his apologies Holly is injured in a fire at her apartment. When Micah realizes how close he comes to losing her he intends to make everything right and show her that they belong together.

With no home left and not any good options, Holly gives into Micah's offer to stay with him and heal. She has no idea how she will live with a man again after what she went through with Brent, but every interaction and every moment with Micah shows her a side to men that she has never known before. All those feelings she had for Micah the first time they meet coming roaring back.

As she heals physically she starts to heal emotionally too, thanks not only to Micah but his brothers and Becca too. She sees what a family should be like and how love should really be given. Giving Micah her trust might be the best decision she ever makes, then maybe she can give him her heart too.
"I still thank God every day that you're in my life. That's not going to end. Because if it felt like a thunderbolt when we met, my feelings for you now are a fucking comet. So you walk away, Holly? There's no other woman waiting in the wings. You're it for me."

Happy Reading.

Is this trauma porn? I mean, this series is chock full of trauma and triumph. It's so fun but also, really crazy and awful to hear about the rough pasts of these folks.

Holly is a survivor and she learns her own worth. I love how Micah gave her space and time to be, even if he's all "I already love you". He was willing to befriend her and give her space.

Safety deets
- trauma trauma trauma. Read the trigger warnings.
- she's only been with her abusive ex. Micah has been with women (why do we need to hear that author) but nothing serious and not for a while (I think a year?)
- they're together at the end but no marriage or long future epilogue but this series keeps going and shows them together and happy in later books

CW: ableism, ableist slur (used by protagonist)

I just read the first book and it was pretty good, so I began the next in the series (this book)

I cannot even believe the author had a protagonist use the term f*ckt*ard in front of his the main character in this book, Micah, who has brain damage and was bullied in school/placed in remedial classes.

DNF this book and the series. No way am I reading about protagonists (I am supposed to root for) who use the R-word.

Micah, you are the sweetest. 🥰 Holly, you are stronger than you realize. Although I felt like this was more about Holly than Micah, it was still really sweet. I love the found family. ❤️ She learned to escape and live again, which is all anyone can ask for in her situation. Though I felt like I needed more because not all the blanks were filled in. I can’t wait to continue with the series and learn about all the rest of the guys.

I don’t know man I just really didn’t like the characters or the plot progression. It does a good job of talking about domestic violence but it also doesn’t feel super informed by what those experiences are like. And maybe it is, but the characters inner dialogue and actions are just so cringy I couldn’t buy into anything being genuine. It’s a no from me

Micah
Brash Brothers #2
Micah and Holly

The second book in and I am loving these men. A chosen family of broken men who have turned their lives around and now nothing stands in their way.

Holly has finally broken away from her horrific marriage and monstrous husband. She’s doing the best she can with what little she has. Slowly she’s taking back her life. She has a place to live, it’s not great but it’s hers. She’s taking self defense classes and has a job she enjoys working in a garage.
Micah is smitten with Holly from the first moment he sees her. Her reaction to him catching her before she can fall stuns him. He knows that look. Saw in on his own mother. He knows if he wants Holly, he’s going to have to proceed slowly and with extreme caution.
As luck would have it, the two of them are thrown together when she finds herself needing a new place to live. Micah takes her in hoping just to be close to her. Give her anything and everything she wants. Holly just wants a place she can hold up and heal. They both get that and so much more.
Micah finds a woman who he can have an actual conversation with. Holly starts to see in Micah and his brothers that there are truly good men in the world. And she has all of them in her corner.
Holly was a strong character. It’s takes awhile, but watching her regain her confidence and her backbone was inspiring.
Micah was so gentle with Holly. So patient.
Both Micah and Holly’s stories are, at times hard to read. Very emotional and heartbreaking. But it’s written with care. There is a lot of humor added in to balance out the heavy stuff. These boys, are hilarious when they get together.
It’s a well written story. I loved the characters and I’m looking forward to reading Colton’s book.
Dual points of view, no cheating, slow burn.

loved!!!

I loved this story! So many ups and downs. It’s just wrings you out emotionally to learn about all that Micah and holly have survived. I loved Micah. Once you learn of why he was ‘mean mugging it’ as Colton likes to say you soften toward him. He was justified in his anger and tension towards her ex and didn’t know how to channel it especially because he thought she was afraid of him and he would never harm her. So he internalized it and it showed on his face and mannerisms. Poor holly. She has been so broken by those who were supposed to love and protect her. I love that the guys welcome her into their fold and their family. Now bear with me. I was really frustrated with her for several portions of the book. I get it I totally do with how she was raised and conditioned, without live or guidance. Then as she was abused and broken by her husband that she had numerous behaviors to un-learn. But god it was annoying sometimes for the guys and Becca to try to continually have to convince her that she was one of them just because Micah cared for her regardless of it went no where. That she had to almost be smacked in the face with hearing about Micah’s feeling from everyone but Micah for her to believe it. But I get it I do. It takes time to retrain yourself. Great book. I can’t wait for ransoms book. I’m sure he will be last as the fearless leader.

Another five-star book just loved it

This is an amazing book and a story really worth sharing. Now this could be some triggers for some folks, but if you could bare through it, it will be worth it. Dealing with domestic violence is the theme of this story. Holly was in a very abusive relationship for seven years before she was able to escape. If you read the first book ''Kade'' it will fill in some of the questions of how Becca handled Holly's soon to be ex when he found her. Believe me it is a great book. Micah has brain damage he receive from a beating from his dad when he was a child. It affects the speech center and he has difficulty saying words. He and his brothers learned ASK in order for him to communicate easier. I can relate to this because I have a grandson with similar speech problems and I know how frustrating it can be for him at times when he can't get out what he wants to say. Holly knows ALS because her childhood friend was deaf. This is such a great read because it gives insight to those who have not been through this the damage that an abusive relationship does to a person psychologically. This is such a funny and light hearted read that it makes such a serious subject easier to work through. I highly recommend not only this book but the series.

~4.5 stars~

After reading the first book in this series, I was so excited for Micah and Holly’s story and it did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. Micah was one of the best heroes I’ve read in a very long time. He was thoughtful, gentle, giving, and so open with his feelings. I adored how alpha he was while still allowing Holly to feel strong and in control of herself.

The book was a bit repetitive at certain points, particularly in Holly’s POV, but generally speaking, the pace of the story was perfect. There was enough drama to keep things interesting. While the romance was slow burn, there was plenty of chemistry and flirtation throughout. This novel was also just really sweet. I loved the interactions between Holly, Micah, and the rest of the family. I’m also quite excited to get Colton’s story next.

Overall, this was an emotional and funny romance full of tenderness, family, and love. I highly recommend it.

*I received an ARC of this book. This is my complete and honest review.*

Great follow-up to ‘Kade’. This is the second book in the ‘Brash Brothers’ series and this stand-alone novel features Holly & Micah (who we ‘met’ in Kade & Becca’s story in book 1). I loved the tale of how these two horribly damaged souls find each other. Their back stories are heart wrenching and don’t make for easy reading; I feel that’s what sets this book aside from your ‘average’ romance. I really like the fact that all of these men value any woman in their lives and whilst – yes, this is romantic fiction – it gives you a warm feeling inside that there are, hopefully, still men like that out there in real life as opposed to the pages of a book. I enjoyed the way Micah has overcome his disability and is so protective and understanding of Holly’s scars from her abusive marriage. A really great, if sometimes harrowing, read. I love the way Jenna Myles sets up the next ‘brother’ to find his ‘one and only’ in this book (I loved the scene in the DIY shop when Colton buys some paint!) - can’t wait for the next in the series!

frankly, wonderful!

Yep, I wasn’t sure at all about the main topic woven through this story: domestic abuse. But I am over the top impressed with how this author handled what could have been a nasty, unmentionable topic.

It was so troubling to find more details about Holly’s situation, which was lightly presented in Book 1. It was wonderful to see Micah manage to do everything in his power to help her overcome all the horrors she dealt with. I know she is not alone in this awful scenario. There are too many people (both men & women) who have suffered at the hands of someone who is supposed to protect and care for them. I am no expert or have any experience with this, but I really feel like this was handled really well.

Additionally, this is a terrific part 2. Got to hang with Becca & Kade, learn more about Ransom, Colton, Jonas, Declan…and the rest! What a great storyline of redemption for so many coming from hard places!

I loved this story! Lots of emotional issues related to abuse but treated so thoughtfully and respectfully. And despite the heavy issues, there is a lot of humor to be found among the brothers and a number of laugh-out-loud scenes. Both Holly and Micah are abuse survivors - she was so strong and brave to get out and start a new life for herself and be open to love. Micah is such a warm character who, despite his own past abuse, is loving and giving and so lucky to have his “brothers” to depend on, who unconditionally support him in everything from his aphasia to accepting Holly into the family simply because she is important to Micah. I loved Micah’s protectiveness and wholehearted offering of his love. Really, really good!

I received a free Advance Review Copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.

All the Feelings

This book was amazing. I can’t say enough how much I love it. I never use this word, but the main male character is an absolute HERO, and so is the female main character. They both have so much trauma that they live with, and Micah’s brain injury and the way he and his family work with it is truly an expression of purest love and overcoming limitations. Gentle, misunderstood giant is my favorite trope, and while the hero isn’t gentle with everyone, his kindness and compassion for those he loves made me say aww too many times to count. This is a way more accurate representation of domestic abuse and the shame and guilt of surviving that than most other romance novels, and treats the subject with respect. I strongly recommend this series and this book in particular.

This is the 2st book in The Brash Brothers series and it’s the Micah and Holly’s story. He’s a gentle giant all silent and caring and he meets her at the garage he co-owns with his brothers. She’s running from her abusive husband. She’s so messed up, she shields from human touch. She’s slowly healing and he’s been helping her as they slowly realize they have feelings for each other. It’s a nice read, but a slight disappointment from the first book.

I mean I like Micah but it feels like the whole story revolves around Holly's trauma and she always keeps mentioning Brent (her abusive husband). I mean I understand that it is very hard for her but grrrr. Micah is just too good. Feels like the relationship is one sided.
