Fear has plagued Iris for years, but hope fills her heart this Christmas season!
Never officially diagnosed, Iris Riehl knows she’s agoraphobic.
It started with small things, like the fear of town or strange people, until it intensified into fear of life beyond her homestead. She couldn’t leave the house, go to town or attend Sunday singings.
But in her community, she has a secret admirer. Knowing about her fears, he takes it upon himself to find a way into Iris’s heart with an advent calendar. All without ever meeting her in person.
At first, she is curious about the advent calendar and the gifts that appear each morning.
Charmed by her anonymous admirer, Iris doesn’t know how it will continue or if it can. She’s afraid of people and can’t leave the homestead.
Will Iris overcome her fears? Can her anonymous admirer steal her heart and show her how brave she truly is? Grab your copy of this heart-warming Amish Christmas romance now to find out.
This is the third Amish novella I’ve read by this author, and the third to get 5-stars from me. Since I retired, I enjoy spending time reading a lot of Christmas-themed stories in December, and a lot of the ones I get are novellas that are inexpensive. This was the first one I read for this season, and it will be a very tough act to follow! I absolutely adored the Advent Calendar romance between Caleb and Iris. For such a short story to successfully develop characters as well as this one did is quite rare, but this author definitely nailed it! I loved the storyline, and will be looking for more to read by this author. I already have two other Christmas ones by her lined up to read before this Christmas.
Beautiful story about a young Amish girl who suffers with Agoraphobia. I like it when Authors are not afraid to write about health issues. The young man who has loved her from afar grew up and went to the Amish school with her. I love that he truly took his time to put together thoughtful gifts each day. To find out if they get together, pick up a copy of the book.
I loved this book because it tackled the problems of agoraphobia & resulting panic attacks etc. The highly realistic descriptions of Iris's condition & attempts to overcome her anxiety & fears make informative reading as well as enjoying the story.
This was a unique and enlightening look about the fear in your mind that can grip you and let you go if you let it. I could almost feel her fear and how true love can help you overcome it! A beautiful story! One of my favorites Naomi had written! Highly recommend!
What a beautiful story love it . It touch my heart I highly recommended it to my friends and family . I truly enjoy all your books they are so special and heartwarming please keep them coming and thank you. May God continue to bless all you do.
This is a wonderful story. It showed love and compassion. It also proved that you can do anything if you have love and support behind you. Iris was stuck with a mental illness but a secret admirer helps to over come this illness. She finds courage and love through an advent calendar.
This story touched my heart so much. A topic not readily discussed it fits right in with hoarding. The two main characters have such strength and courage. This is for Amish an unconventional story, but one each of us can take to heart.
