Noor has eloped with her lover.

The husband is far too devastated to go searching. Their ten-year-old son is too young to realize what has happened. Yet, a missing person case is registered with the police, for it has been several days and there is no word from her. The state police is in a quandary too. Fifteen thousand state-owned CCTV cameras operate inside the city, but none of them have captured anyone remotely close to Noor.

The missing person case is soon transferred to the Bombay Crime Bureau, with SSP Dev Shinde and his team of young Sub Inspectors having to investigate the case from scratch. They will need to question everyone she knew – friends, family and acquaintances. The question is, how well did they know Noor?

Or did they know her at all?

After having read the third installment in this series I can only say I look forward to reading the full novel. I can only thank Krishnaraj HK for reaching out to me having offered me this wonderful piece in exchange for an honest review.

One more time, Dev Shinde and team step in to solve what at first seems the investigation for a young mother (Noor) going missing, apparently because she eloped with her lover (did she really?); however, there's something odd. There are apparently several loose ends that do not lead anywhere. Being as meticulous as he's always been Dev cannot let this one go. Is he following the right path? Has he and his team asked the right questions that will help them solve what might be something much darker and complicated? Are they ready to unveil the truth behind Noor's disappearance?

Krishnaraj HK has cleverly created a very talented team of investigators that will join efforts to solve some very difficult cases.

First and foremost, a large thank you to Krishnaraj HK for providing me with a copy of this novella, which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.

I was pleased to be handed yet another ARC for this series, a well-paced novella this time. Always ready to enjoy a great police procedural, I was eager to return to the Bombay Crime Bureau, where SSP Dev Shinde has a daunting case on his blotter. Using an Indian flavouring to advance the story, Krishnaraj succeeds once more with this series, keeping the reader guessing until the very end. Well-paced and with a few twists at the right spots, I found myself devouring the latest in the series.

After a young woman leaves a note to say that she’s gone off with her lover, the family is unsure how to proceed. Noor’s husband cannot face the rejection and won’t go looking for her, while their son is only ten and cannot wrap his head around what’s happened. Local police treat this with disdain and choose to let a number of days go by without putting any effort into the search. What’s even more baffling is that many of the city’s CCTV cameras show no sign of Noor whatsoever. Something seems off, but local police remain disinterested.

SSP Dev Shinde and the Bombay Crime Bureau are soon brought in to lead the case, with too many loose ends left dangling. Shinde has his team begin the investigation from scratch, in case previous members of the squad missed something. Questioning anyone and everyone, SSP Shinde and the Crime Bureau soon make a little headway in the form of another missing person, this time a young girl. Might the two be connected? If anyone can figure that out, it’s SSP Dev Shinde. Still, it will take all his efforts and a keen sense of the criminal mind to bring things to a reasonable close. A great story that takes the reader on quite the journey.

It was a gamble when first I tried one of these ARCs, but found myself completely absorbed and intrigued with how Krishnaraj writes and presents his stories. I readily accepted this latest police procedural novella, still waiting in for the full-length novel the author promised is on its way. I hoped that it would prove to be as strong as the previous publications, soon proven correct. The story is clear and creates twists throughout to keep the reader on their toes. Introducing the reader to some great characters and policing techniques, Krishnaraj has done it again with this story.

Police procedurals often require strong narrative direction, particularly for those unfamiliar with the local customs or laws. The reader can easily follow Krishnaraj’s writing, which keeps things moving briskly. Characters offer some depth throughout, which provides strong development. Plot twists keep the reader wondering, as well as providing an unpredictable realisation when things come together. I gladly read these shorter piece, but am also waiting for the full novel that appears to be ‘just around the corner’.

Kudos, Mr. Krishnaraj, for reaching out and providing a wonderful way to pass a few hours. Keep the stories coming, whenever you can.

Noor went missing, leaving a letter stating her intentions to live on her own. Her husband and the rest of the people never attempted to search, for obvious reasons. But her father, Zulfiqar files a missing complaint, worried for his daughter's safety. Police initially dismiss the case as a futile search for a woman who made her choice clear. But is it really so? Where is Noor?

The author has made an interesting and pacy crime novel yet again. Only this time, it gets more interesting with some supernatural elements involved. It is an edge-of-the-seat thriller so you'd finish it in one go like I did.

What I loved about this book is the way clues are given slowly, to make sure you are hooked. The author doesn't leave space for any lag or laze. Each chapter has something shocking - a clue or a revelation. The events are sequenced in such a way that the reader enjoys and thinks at the same time.

The language is easy to read. The story is one that needs attention to detail. So you'd read it only when your brain is working super quick. You'd enjoy it more that way. The author is an absolute maestro with police procedurals. So if you want a Indian supercop investigation, you should read his works.

The author only gets better than his first two stories. I would recommend it to everyone as it gives the full worth of time and money.

I received a review copy and I am posting my review voluntarily.

Missing by Krishna Raj is the third instalment in the crime thriller series Bombay Crime Bureau, Interrogations. Following the trail of its two predecessors, this book takes us on a roller coaster ride that leaves us gasping, wide-eyed. Taking cues from superstitions and cult-ish behaviours, Missing goes a step further in not just investigating the crime but also dwelling in a perpetrator’s mind.

The story revolves around the missing case of a married woman, Noor, who abandons her family, a husband and a son, and vanishes in thin air. Nobody has seen her and her husband is least interested in finding her. However, the crime bureau is on a mission to solve the case which gets more convoluted as we move forward. Meanwhile, 1 10-year-old schoolgirl also goes missing. Are the two cases connected? In the process, SSP Dev Shinde has to face his past and deal with perpetually nerve-racking questions, all the while navigating a case that only gets darker and more complicated. Would we ever find Noor again?

Missing is an absolutely well-written crime thriller that keeps one hooked and wanting more. I finished reading it in one sitting, all because I could not keep myself away from unravelling the mystery. Layers after layers, the story delves deeper into folklore, supernatural elements, and disturbing psychological behaviours that bring us closer to solving the missing case of Noor. Past is revisited, and the investigation goes forward in depth and breadth, only to bring us more shocking revelations.

I always enjoy a good thriller that challenges my thinking process and helps me exercise my mental muscles. Missing was a good experience as it delivered clues slowly, helped me solve the mystery gradually, and gave me enough opportunities to think outside of the box.

The author has a flair for writing gripping stories and Missing is definitely the best out of three instalments for me. The lucid writing coupled with a taut narrative makes one appreciate the story more and more. I would recommend this one if you want a good thriller on your reading list!

This volume is a little longer than the previous ones while keeping the same format. Dev Shinde and his team at the Bombay Crime Bureau conduct a series of interrogations to investigate a crime. This time, it's the disappearance of a wife and mother. As the team finds out more details, the case gets more and more twisted. Some parts will be distressing for animal lovers. Others are simply so disturbing that they made me gasp. There are also supernatural elements and local legends that make some chapters unbearable creepy. At last we get more personal information on Dev and Aaron. I'm really enjoying this series.

First of all I want to thank the author, Krishnaraj HK, for providing me a copy of his book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm really happy that the author gave me the opportunity to read the third novella in the series Bombay Crime Bureau Interrogations because Missing has become my favourite so far.

We follow again the reasoning of SSP Dev and his team regarding a case of disappearance.
Noor, a married woman with a son and a husband, leaves her old life leaving behind only a letter hidden under the pillow of her son's bed.
On that piece of paper, in feminine writing, Noor claims to have run away with her lover.
But no one can believe this version of the story and neither can Dev.

There were many things I liked.
First of all, as in the other books, one of the themes is represented by the social problems.
Second of all, it’ always interesting to be able to interface with a reality other than one's own.
Third of all, there were some plot twists that left me speechless!

If you like the crime genre this book is perfect for you! The story is dynamic with little description! Absolutely recommended.

This is the third installment of the Bombay Crime Bureau Interrogations.

What starts out as a routine missing person case turns into something infinitely worse. Once again it fall upon Senior Superintendent of Police Dev Shinde to solve this astounding mystery. He is a creative thinker, dogged in his efforts to do the right thing.

This is not your usual crime tale, but it is incredibly captivating.

I was already a fan of Dev, and after this last novel, omg...
Noor, a wife and mother, disappears one day to supposedly begin a new life with her lover. As Dev and his team start investigating her disappearance, the story takes a "twisted twist", and the end is completely unpredictable!
Raj has a writing style that I personally like very much: he walks us through pure police/interrogation narratives with an easy language, making it an effortless reading experience for the reader. His books remind me a lot of of the series "Criminal", from Netflix.
Looking forward to the next adventure!

When Noor goes missing, her husband doesn't care much about finding her, believing she ran away with her lover. When Noor's father files a missing complaint, the case unfolds facts and information related to Noor that no one would believe. The story is slightly spooky and nail-biting. Among all three books, this one is my favorite because of its setting and vibes.

A 10-year-old girl also goes missing and no one knows where she is. Are Noor and the girl related? I am sure this story will immerse everyone because it contains supernatural elements and the psyche of people who commit sins. The story is fast-paced and un-putdownlable.

The third installment of the Bombay Crime Bureau series. The series follows different crimes and the investigations surrounding them, with twists and varying looks into human behaviours.

Synopsis
Noor, a wife and mother, has gone missing. Thought to have run away with a secret lover, a case is opened when no one has heard from her in days. With no sign of Noor on any CCTV across the city, Dev and his team think they has to be more to this story than meets the eye

I really love Krishnaraj's writing style, there is something really captivating with how he writes these stories. The investigations following a police report style with the information of people included at the beginning is a really fun way to read a story. I do love books that aren't written like books all the time; I think it adds to the experience a lot, and Krishnaraj does it well.

Dev as a character is really strong and his skill and leadership are always on point. The police procedural style can feel a bit old - but not here. The fresh look, modern feelings and the way that cultural differences are presented make this not only fun to enjoy but gives a much fuller and vibrant picture to the reader. I'm never left wondering what something is, wondering if this thing is really important or just a casual comment. Everything has a meaning and comes across clearly.

Pacing was great, there wasn't a lull that left me fighting through sections. I breezed through this, wanting and having to know what was going to come next. I couldn't put this down until I knew the investigation was finished. I cannot wait for the next installment, or any other writing by Krishnaraj HK.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is the third book I am reading from the author and I really am liking the way the stories are built by him, a good one once again.
Noor is missing, no traces and no strong reasons nor any strong suspects found, she just vanishes. Out of some unknown curious interest the missing cases lands up into the hands of Bombay Crime Bureau, thou I could never relate on why that happened but it happened to come into their hands.
While the police failed to investigate a lot Dev, had to restart from the beginning and so he does. Dev and his team find it hard to understand how a normal, house wife could just vanish off without a trace. Though it wasn’t a criminal case, in hands of Dev, he has to solve it.
The interrogations take different shades as it progresses, the case seems to get complicated, and just more than a missing case. How Dev and his team solve the case is the rest of the story.
The interrogations are well described and really give the reader a challenge to understand where and what is the mystery. I should admit that I fell a little short on understanding how that resolution came in but the end was quite a bit of uphill drive with twists and turns.
Over all it is a nice and short mystery read, which keeps you engaged. So, a good read it makes. Thanks Raj for the wonderful book. Looking up for more of your books.

Krishnaraj thank you for this gem of a book. Starting a few pages and it keeps you hooked like it kept me up half of the night. Sorry it's so engrossing that you forget about the timing. Coming to story Noor Zulfiqar Shaikh now Noor Qasim Sheikh suddenly disappears from her life leaving Zain a 10 year old boy with a note under her pillow that she is going with an unnamed lover and do not search for her. This case comes to Dev Shinde the SSP who has to solve this missing case. The bureau never takes such cases but a special recommendation from the top and it landed in Dev's lap. His commorades Salim, Aaron and Priya help him in this case. While investigating the story makes a big shift to totally a different concept which is a little eerie and thrilling. There are many questions that I too did not get the answers to. However as Dev says there is no closure I leave it to be. Giving 5 star for the story alone. Awesome piece of work. Overall a really great piece of work to be at least read once in lifetime and a very awesome Goodreads....🙂

This is somewhat different to the first two books in the Bombay Crime Bureau series in that it has a supernatural element to it which may deter some readers. I was dubious about this line at first but as the story progressed it seemed to fit and worked well within the scope of how a belief system/ cultish beliefs can change a person and become reality instead of folk tales to them.

As in the first two books the characters in this one grow into the storyline and we see them interact with each other fluently and convincingly. The story covers a great deal of the country and is always very well described so that the reader can picture the places as they read.

Once again, as with the first books, I read this in two sittings as I had to keep the pages turning to find out what happened! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery

Having read the previous two books in this series, my expectations for "Missing" were very high. It didn't disappoint... although it may be a while before I eat curry again! This series is like a breath of fresh air. It's gripping, it's entertaining, it's enjoyable. But this third book... If this story doesn't knock your socks off, nothing will!

My thanks to the author. This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own, unbiased, opinion.
