A powerful fae princess desperate to escape her future. A broody prince holding her captive.
Tia O’Shea just wants to go home, back to the palace among snowy fields where her twin brother amplifies the power inside her, and her father tries to secure the future of the throne through her marriage. A marriage she doesn’t want and refuses to consider. As a future queen, Tia only wants a choice in this one part of her life. On the night of the ball to introduce all potential suitors eligible for her hand, she escapes to the human realm, planning to return after everyone has come to their senses. She never expected anyone to follow her, let alone her best friend and two of her suitors. When the portal home goes awry, she finds herself separated from the others, without her magic, and stranded in a kingdom she knows nothing of, a kingdom torn apart by generations of war. Tia has been through her fair share of war, she knows what happens to those caught in the middle, but avoiding it might not be possible if she wants to find her friends. To recover her missing magic and find a way home across the treacherous fire plains, she might have to wade right into the fight. But first, she has to escape the prince claiming her as prisoner.

Michelle MacQueen is a USA Today bestselling author of love. Yes, love. Whether it be YA romance, NA romance, or fantasy romance (Under M. Lynn), she loves to make readers swoon. The great loves of her life to this point are two tiny blond creatures who call her "aunt" and proclaim her books to be "boring books" for their lack of pictures. Yet, somehow, she still manages to love them more than chocolate. When she's not sharing her inexhaustible wisdom with her niece and nephew, Michelle is usually lounging in her ridiculously large bean bag chair creating worlds and characters that remind her to smile every day - even when a feisty five-year-old is telling her just how much she doesn't know.
For starters I loved reading all 3 of these at the same time and would have died if I’d had to wait to read each one! I’m confused on why women are being presented for Tia’s hand, how marrying a woman would produce an heir lol, but we’ll roll with it I guess. I love when her friends experience the human food. All the human world words and references are so funny because the Fae stay confused. I really loved T & Gullie as adults.
The new lands were super exciting! The misogyny was HEAVY in the first one, but I knew Tia wouldn’t stand for it. It’s like Tia was dropped into the Middle Ages haha. I am loving our enemies to lovers premise. That is fleshed out very nicely. I have giggled so many times reading this. I love the tension between K & T.
Why did Sio leave the farm?? Daddy ice King was gonna come look there obvi. The amount of misunderstandings between these guys is comical. It’s like the story is led by people misunderstanding what’s happening.
The ending was good, but I was also like, huh interesting choice. Why did those 2 people need to die? It felt a tad unnecessary at that point in the story. Like it was just to make me sad honestly. Also I feel like it’s a little early for anyone to think about Tia becoming queen, she’s what 18?.

This box set is the 7-9 books of the Queen of the Fae collection. The characters are well developed with compelling back stories, strong motivation, and goals. They have bold personalities and make bold choices. They have captivating internal conflicts with multiple difficult decisions to make. I felt like I was right there watching, feeling, and experiencing the book...not just reading it. The atmosphere created and characters were so realistic. The world building is detailed, imaginative and so well done that you're drawn into a fantastic world unlike any other. The storyline is fast-paced and very well written, filled with magic, Fae, danger, death, politics, intrigue, and subterfuge. The plot thickens, the suspense builds, and the passion erupts! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy
REVIEW: Fae’s Rebellion We can’t just stay ten forever At some point in our lives, we grow up and face our responsibilities. Usually, that entails getting a job and raising a family. Expectations are much different and the stakes are higher for royals, nobility, & the uber-wealthy. I do not envy those born with their burdens, regardless of how silver that spoon is.
Tia et al accidentally portal into a misogynistic kingdom, which is quite a challenging shock for our heroine. I’m all for individuals being able to choose employment according to their strengths and interests. The author brought up an even stronger point regarding societal roles – we need to seriously consider the below when raising our girls: When males do not allow “their” females to protect themselves, then who will protect the females from their males? About fifteen years ago while living in the Midwestern U.S., a Krav Maga studio gave free classes to females after the body of a young woman had been found days after her kidnapping in broad daylight from a mall parking lot. Yes, the murderer was charged and also for the other body found nearby. These men took it upon themselves to begin righting a wrong – the concept that girls don’t fight. We NEED to know how to and to be in shape in order to either run away or take down our attacker(s). Lives will be saved IRL, not just in fairy tale battles.
Fave quotes: ‘Come on, Princess. Let’s go make your brother mad.’ ‘Men … can’t live with them, can’t lock them in a prison world that no longer exists.’
I have both ‘Fae’s Refuge’ and ‘Fae’s Return’ to continue on Tia’s journey and to see what’s in store for the throne of Iskalt.
REVIEW: Fae's Refuge ‘Trouble is sometimes what a kingdom needs’ A good king tries to balance out the needs of all his subjects, not just filling his treasury and bribing his court. How many of the hungry would a royal banquet feed? How many of the naked would be clothed with the cost of one warhorse? Cleaning house and taking out the garbage are just what’s needed when taking over from a corrupt regime. The responsibilities are even heavier when one doesn’t inherit the crown. Becoming king by accepting an election or killing the previous monarch is a voluntary act. As Gullie so aptly called out Keir: ‘Be.A.King.’
Siobhan had studied the land of humans, but there’s nothing like first-hand opportunity to truly experience a culture. A little information before travelling helps us to better understand the customs and mores of other lands. Who knows? We may even bring back some of those to our own homes… For many of use, travelling has us making a new home in a new land.
Sage advice from the author: Be with someone who makes you challenge yourself.
Fave quotes: ‘Wherever there is a king, there is good wine.’ ‘Oh, dear Veren, Tierney has always been mad.’
May we learn to trade equitably among our neighbors, so that we all benefit without destroying each other or our world.
Next is ‘Fae’s Return’ to continue on Tia’s journey back home and to see what’s in store for the throne of Iskalt.
REVIEW: Fae's Return Torn between two worlds Tiernay and Keir come from such different worlds. To her, magic is a living entity. To him, a life of war is all he’s ever known. King Lochlan knows what it takes to make a great partnership. To me, his comment ‘I do not care if you wear a crown, only that you’re able to support hers’ is spot on regarding the relationship he envisions for not only his daughter’s future husband but for the kingdom she will inherit as well.
This book continues its lessons and examples on leadership: ‘No one is ever blameless … and no one is ever entirely at fault.’ Not every trade has to be equal, but they should be equitable in the long run. It’s important to know when to give up power and/or position for the greater good.
Some sage advice from the author: Always have a Plan B or at least a contingent plan for Plan A.
Want to find out what Tierney has in mind for her next adventure. Well, not really hers if the title ‘Fae’s Envoy’ is any indication…
Suspence mystery, intrigue and danger. You will love the characters and put yourself into the storyline. Tia is to find a suitor to marry her. She wants her freedom so she leaves and is followed by her friend and two others. What will she do to find them and get home? What will she do with the prince that wants her? Can she survive everything?.

This is a wonderful collection encompasing fiesty, independent fae princess and brooding, conflicted prince. Love is in the air and ther is no way our heroe and heroine can fight it. Take your reader, sit comfortably and prepare yourself for a lot of fun and a lack of sleep.

I've loved this series from the start. the world building draws you in from the beginning and the twists and turns leaves you wanting more as this whole series is a must read.
This trilogy focuses on the next O'Shea, this time on the heir to Brea and Loch - Tierney. Being forced into marriage against her will, in order to escape she uses the one magic she is terrible at - portals. After her magic going haywire, Tia ends up in a foreign kingdom being at war with another land, held prisoner and treated much worse than just a princess forced into unwanted situation. Mortal dangers follow Tia and Gullie's every step, yet Tia's personality shines so bright she inspires people even without her magic and manages to start a change in Lenya - and it's really five minutes to twelve for such a change.. I love this world, love the fae, and love each of the O'Sheas and their families and friends and advetures like no other. I cannot get enough of them, enjoying every new addition to this world, every new character, and each of the plot twists. I absolutely relished in the relationship drama and development between Tia and Keir, their interactions and attraction even in moments of violence and doom. Character development here is exquisite, and even though I still like Brea more, Tia is one of my fav characters in the whole saga. Great one again!.
