IN HER WORDS: I've been a writer all of my life -- it is who I am. I write for myself and always have. The ability to create pictures and emotions with words is such a miracle to me. Danger, suspense, tension, romance, and action provide readers with an entertaining and compelling reading experience in Shadow Dance by Christine Feehan. The eighth book in the Shadow Riders series switches from the Chicago Ferraro family to their cousins in New York City. Geno Ferraro became the head of his family and his family’s territory at the age of thirteen after an event that left this father severely injured. Eighteen years later, his parents are killed in the latest string of murders. He sets a trap and thinks he has the assassin caught. Amaranthe “Amara” Aubert is a classical ballerina and a shadow rider. She had nothing to do with the murders, but when Geno connects to her in the shadows, she can’t hide her true reason for being in New York.
Shadow riders are a fascinating concept where they slip from one shadow to the next to travel unseen. Tasked with the job of bringing justice to those who can’t get it achieved via regular law enforcement, it is a dangerous job requiring training from an early age. Geno and Amara are compelling characters. Geno took on business and family responsibility at a young age. He puts family first, has learned to compartmentalize, thinks quickly, is trained in self-defense and fighting techniques, has a strict moral code, and is very good at observation. He’s also viewed as ruthless and cold by many. Amara is a talented ballerina, determined, captivating, fast, confident, deadly, and can process info at an extremely rapid rate. While there are several new characters, including Geno’s brothers, Salvatore and Lucca, readers also get to spend time with some of the Chicago members of the family as well.
A chilling scene to start the novel immediately pulls readers into the story. Who is committing the murders and why? Who will be the next target? As knowledge is pooled and research delves into events, possibilities become known. The significant amount of danger and action kept me fully engaged and made this a true page turner for me. It is a riveting story with protagonists that I liked and cheered on as their journey progressed and became ever more dangerous and unusual. It contained the elements that I love in this genre of books. The book delivers on escapism through attraction, friendship, family, romance, action, and love while also tackling serious issues including secrets, trust, abuse, stressful situations, honor, having the courage to do what’s right, duty, loyalty, battling evil, and selfless sacrifice for others. There are a couple of steamy scenes in the second half of the novel.
Overall, this briskly paced novel was engaging and had great characterization. I can’t wait to find out who will be featured in the next book. I recommend this to those that like paranormal romantic suspense novels and urban fantasies with relatable and likeable main characters.
Berkley Publishing Group and Christine Feehan provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. Publication date is currently set for August 22, 2023. This review was originally posted at Mystery and Suspense Magazine.
------------------------------------------- My 4.24 rounded to 4 stars review is coming soon.
Would have given a 3.5-4 stars if I had only read this book and nothing else in the series but i'm sick of reading about child rape and learning over and over again in every single book about the same things.
So so so many spoilers!
First I think it's important to note that Feehan no longer shows us a story but instead info dumps large plots and events in an ongoing run-on sentence like paragraph. This happens in the first chapter. I feel like the book would have been a lot better had they done the series of killings in the same way it was done in Samurai game.
Secondly, the only good parts for me, And I am biased towards my own level of entertainment is that the first chapter offered us something completely new as it pertains to our primary love interests finding each other and the first sex scene is vastly unsatisfying to our poor virginal Amara. I mean she didn't even get an orgasm and there's some serious worry that they may not be able to have a successful sex life. It was pretty realistic. So thank you for that, also, there wasn't quite the same level of repetitive dialogue in this book as we have seen in most of Feehans books.
The message? Raping children should never be secreted away. Speak out and help them heal with compassion and validation. Hold the abusers publicly accountable. Do not seek revenge.
I was so excited at the beginning of this book when it seemed to be a murder mystery but as is typical in any Feehan book of the last 10 years, if she does not focus on the horrific rape of a child she can't seem to sell a book anymore. Sigh.
Basically we get to revisit the horrific experiences Taviano had in his childhood and how his mother and father reacted to his rape by a Australian rider family. As it turns out, their mother had nothing to do with the death of those two child molesters. Instead, it was a large targeted assassination plot by multiple Rider families all over the world who sought revenge for their own rape experiences as children with this particular evil family. Had these families taken their experiences and the proof of this family's disgusting behaviors to the archambeau family they would have assassinated them all and it would have been done legally within the rider community. But because of the humiliation that is attached to child abuse especially when boys are raped, all of the families kept quiet and did not tell anyone what was happening to them until it was time for their children to go out for training, allowing future generations to undergo the same level of torture. Yes, this Behavior happened over several Generations.
So now all of the families who were involved in the assassinations 18 years ago have been targeted by the surviving members of the abusing family ( oh and they are also child rapists. Their own children and other people's children, as much as possible and when they don't have local children they go and visit their family members who left town and then raped their children. Most of the wives either killed themselves when they found out what was happening to their children or were killed by their husbands when their children reached preteen age) all of this is info dumped in the last hour of the book Unfortunately so much of this is ridiculously vague. Sigh (again)
Anyway we are supposed to believe that Amara is a ballerina and a secret assasin for the archambeau family who has been investigating a string of murders of riders as well as some reputation destroying by this evil family whose special psychic gift seems to be charisma which allows them to brainwash teens into performing acts of theft and destruction in some of these families territories, with the specific intention of undermining their Authority within their communities and breeding dissension and distrust.
The incredibly fast and almost ridiculous final scenes happen in the last 15 minutes of the audiobook during a Romeo and Juliet ballet. I almost laughed because it was so ridiculous. It's basically explained that although this evil family was trained as riders, because they lived in secrecy and didn't continue their training or engage in anything intellectual, they vastly underestimated the Ferraro family and all of their associate ending in their Doom... it was ridiculously easy to kill all of the bad guys that were left.
Anyway, I'm not saying don't read the book but I would definitely say do not brush up on this series in preparation for this book because it would be far more enjoyable if you only vaguely remember the plot points from the previous books in this series.
Of course it sounds like I hated the book and a lot of me did but I will still read everything Feehan publishes because I'm hoping that she's going to get this out of her system one day and she'll go back to writing books that I actually enjoy. Crossing my fingers

Introduction Shadow Dance is the eight installment in the "Shadow Riders" series and there is something so delectable about these books. In all honesty, I think in some ways, these are some of Feehan's best work. I love the feeling of Mafia surrounds them but with a Feehan twist to the them but also what is even more empowering is the way in which the sense of family is so well focused on. In Shadow Dance, we get a serial arc (or I am guessing that is what is delivered on this one) where we get to Geno's book, and I am guessing we will also get his brother's books. I wouldn't mind Dario's book but to be honest I have a feeling that Feehan will drag that out a bit, but maybe I am wrong haha but I just know whatever Feehan has chosen to do next, will be just as wonderful.
Summary Shadow Dance starts off, with our heroine, who is a professional ballerina, is caught in the wrong place wrong time trying to help out a teenager, and gets put in the cross eyes of the Ferraro men. While Amara poses as a dancer, she also is a shadow rider, but one of special abilities who is more the "special ops" of their kind and she works for the council themselves. When Geno first meets her he knows that there is something more to Amara, but when their shadows touch in the interrogation, he knows that there is so much more to the story. As Geno and the Ferraro men come to the truth, Geno realizes that he has found the one woman for him. As Gena and Amara work on getting to know each other but also trying to figure out who is after the Ferraro men and their territory, there are secrets to be revealed and workings of the heart to be conveyed and bared open...
My Outlook Shadow Dance was such an empowering story of harsh realities of their world but finding love when you least expect to find it. I honestly had no clue what to expect with this one, I actually went into this one blind. I have literally loved every single installment in this series, and I knew that Shadow Dance would deliver. But I have to say that Christine Feehan really upped her literal game on this tantalizing read. Shadow Dance is a story that takes two shadow riders, who are both experienced and lethal in their own rights and puts together a match of fiery sensuality that takes the reader on one wild ride from beginning to end.
This is such a action packed read, like many of her books, but there was so much poignant emotion that just endears the reader completely. The connection that Geno and Amara have together was so captivating. I honestly didn't want to put their story down, the depths of their bond is so beautifully developed and seeing these two fighters find their way towards their own HEA was quite a sight to see. Amara herself was adopted when her family died and has never known love or affection. Geno, had to take over his family as a young teen and has had to be the leader and strength of the family but when he meets Amara, his whole world changes and will do anything for Amara. Both Geno and Amara aren't ready for the torrent of emotion that will come with their bond but seeing the ways in which they come together and so readily accept their connection was beautiful in the small intimate moments we see them cultivate.
Overall View Shadow Dance is a story that will breathe fire into your heart, its a story of sacrifice and harsh realities, but the beauty in perseverance and honor and the ways in which love and family reigns supreme...
Geno is the cousin to the notorious Ferraro family whom we have seen in the other books in this series. He as well as his Ferraro cousins are shadow riders, meaning they are able to move very quickly through the tubes of the shadows. Essentially they are able to turn into shadows and quickly move anywhere shadows are. The Ferraro family as well as their cousins gets justice for people who have been hurt by child predators and human traffickers. They are a crime family but they find and kill child predators and human traffickers which makes them the good guys in my book.
When Amaranthe is picked up by Geno and his crew, he thinks she's there to assassinate him but she's hiding a huge secret and isn't sure who she can trust. Her cover is she's a ballet dancer and she can play the sweet, innocent small woman when she has to, but underneath all that facade is a strong women ready to pounce on her target. But is Geno her target? Geno feels something for her right away and because a Shadow Rider can feel their mate because their shadows are attracted to each other, he knows he isn't going to be able to hurt her in this interrogation which puts him in danger. So when he brings in some of his crew to interrogate her, she panics and does what she's been trained to do which almost kills her and Geno.
After they both recover, she finally tells him the truth and they start working together to find out who is killing people close to his family. This was a great murder mystery, I had no idea who was doing the killing or why until the reason was revealed. I have been loving this series since the very first book and this was no exception. I liked that we got to see all the Ferraro siblings and their spouses from the past books and had a chance to watch Geno and Amaranthe slowly get more comfortable with each other. Both Amaranthe and Geno have had hard lives. Amaranthe was adopted by the council when her parents died when she was young, she wasn't shown love or affection but she was trained to be a very lethal shadow rider. Geno had to take over his family's business at a very young age when something bad happened to his parents. So these two really needed each other.
There was so much action in this book and I love watching these lethal shadow riders do their thing. If they have you in their sights, there's no getting away from them. You can't hide from them, because as long as there's a shadow, they can get to you.
Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC of this book but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I don't know what Shadow Dance you all read, giving such high reviews. This book came on the Aug.22, and today is Aug. 27, 2023. It took me reading a little, putting it down, then some time later, picking it up and reading it again. The first 5 chapters were b o r i n g, I just couldn't get into the story, a t a l l. So Amara is fast, has been a rider after training all her life, she's an accomplished ballet dancer, Geno is unsure if she could ever love him. Come on! This is repeated and repeated and repeated. If you can't come up with interesting, can't put the book down scenarios, stop writing till you come up with one. I didn't like your last two Torpedo ink books, now this. Unfortunately I own every book you've written since the beginning, from Dark, the sisters, Ghostwalkers ETC, So think I'm stopping about here. Your writing no longer has the 'I can't wait to read factor anymore".
I really love this series. It's a very unique concept. I have to say I'm glad she toned down the kink. The last book was mostly kink. I'm surprised they were able to solve anything they spent so much time having sex. Glad to see it went to another branch of the family.
Hallelujah!! It has happened, Praise be, raise your hands in the air!
Ms. Feehan FINALLY returned to her roots (at least for a minute) and wrote a book where the story (rather than the envelope pushing erotica from recent years) takes center stage! I feel like I’ve seen a miracle. And, while said story isn’t necessarily the most riveting in her arsenal (it isn’t), it is a STORY! And for that I will sing praises and hope it isn’t a singular event.
My favorite! I loved the intense emotional plot that sucked me in and pulled on heart strings, I love the sense of family and when our dancer, (formidable shadow rider in her own right)Amaranthe and Geno(head of the Ferraro family in New York) explore the relationship the intimacy does not detract from the awesome plot. Shadow Riders are being murdered. As they try and determine why and who tidbits of info are provided, mystery, intrigue and suspense are a foot. Now add in family, romance you cannot go wrong. There were a couple of times I was wiping some tears. I did not want the book to end, this one book channeled all the Shadow Riders for me, bonded them, cemented them and made me want more. Thank you for the arc, I freely share my own thoughts and opinions. #ShadowDance #ChristineFeehan #ShadowRIders #Berkley #NetGalley
Shadow Dance is a literary masterpiece whose breathtaking characters and searing love transported me to a while new dimension of thinking and feeling. The sheer power in the words of this story truly captivated my heart and soul. I was left raw and shredded by the depth of evil I found that longed to extinguish the precious light still shining. Nothing prepared me for the wonder and majesty of family that enveloped me as the story unfolded before me.
Amara knew her mission. It was not simple, but it was imperative. She knew that only be following her instincts would she find her quarry and stop them. Only, Fate had a surprise for her. One that would change everything. Geno had a duty to his brothers, his familgio, and to himself. He knew what to expect, and he knew what was expected of him. When an unknown silent threat turns his world upside down, he must find the elusive answer that will keep everyone he loves alive. Can these two form a temporary alliance to solve this deadly puzzle, or will they find they get more then they ever bargained for?
Geno and Amara are incredible individuals that when brought together will truly leap off the pages. The pain of their past, the intrigue of the present, and the hope for the future will steal the breath from your lungs. They are like fierce flames that will bring out the purity in your own heart by laying waste to all of your walls and defenses. Once you brings these awe-inspiring people together no one will ever be the same again.
Christine Feehan has truly outdone herself with this miraculous story. She has turned my heart inside out, and I will never be th same again. I will never be able to view the world again. My heart is now different, and my vision is not the same. What my ears hear, my heart and soul now view through a light of love and hope. I am different now.
This was a typical Christine Feehan story it has supernatural elements to it found family vibes and as always the heat is always on fire! Its tension filled passionate romantic dangerous and suspenseful storyline made for a unputtdownable story!
I have no idea why I've kept reading this series through 8 books. I say I'm not going to read the next one, then it pops up on Libby and I'm sunk. These are absolutely not for me - poor plot, repetitive (SO REPETITIVE), poor world building - but here I am 8 books in. I think this one has finally done me in, though. Don't think I'll read the next one, but who knows?
Do you want to feel like a princess? Like the most desirable woman on Earth, no matter what shape you are? Find yourself a Ferraro! The only slight issue is you need to have magical shadow riding genes to pass on…. But other than THAT they aren’t picky :p or… they like a wide variety of body types, at least. I love that!
This book felt like it was a Dario pre-book instead of a story on its own, however. I really think she wrote herself into a corner where he is concerned, though! But uhh Geno was there too, I guess?
This series is quite unique, I don't know how the author came up with the idea of a family that had the ability to "ride through the shadows" as if taking a short cut across town, getting into places otherwise inaccessible. Also.to make it believable, that takes some doing. Riding the shadows is not without risk, it is also intensely painful so the "riders" are taught from small children how to handle the pressure. This makes for a very rigid and disciplined childhood also a very isolated one. The only people who understand their lives are other shadow riders, their own family members and members of the other shadow riders families. They operate as a group, organised, situated around the world and they use this remarkable gift to administer their brand of justice (death) to criminals and murderers who would otherwise continue on destroying lives. THe family has three roles, those who meet and listen to the victims, those who investigate the complaints (to make sure they're true) and those who administer the death blow. The Ferrarro family are based in America and are the main protagonists in these stories. The first books dealt with Salvatoro and his siblings but now we are moving on to his cousin Gino. These books are filled with high emotion, strong family values and as with any Christine Feehan book some very steamy sex scenes. I would say to anyone new to the series to start at the beginning as although you don't need to read them in order to enjoy them the core group of characters appears in every book so their love stories are referenced at times. The heroines in these book are always strong women who can stand side by side with their men and when needed don't mind getting their hands dirty, provided the cause is just. I love the family dynamic in these books and look forward to reading many more.........................
Someone is killing members of the Ferraro family, other riders. Geno Ferraro is determined to discover who it is... his determination to find out how this tiny ballet dancer, Amaranthe, is involved and how he's determined to protect those in his heart, had me on the edge of my seat from the very first page!
Action, Danger, Suspenseful discoveries surrounding the Shadow Riders... all keeping me riveted and immersed in the story of Geno and Amaranthe...while I dreamy sigh over these two finding how they fit together in and out of the shadows!
One heart discovering the connection and love to another opens them to love of family, too... the other discovering what it means to have the love of another just for them.
Fantastic. What a great addition to the series. Loved getting to know the NY family better while still seeing the family we love from Chicago. This book had everything.
Good story, horrific family. The story was compelling and less repetitive than some of her other series. The reason for turning against their children was never explained. They loved them enough to clear out the paedophiles but not to parent them. Nope there was no explanation. Why was it not investigated. Who made the report? Why wait so long for revenge? Why was it personal? Those questions were never answered.
I am tired of them making Franchesca suffer with dead babies though it was nice to see her. Enough is enough. Speaking of babies. Where are the babies. All the other Arms have 5-7 children and all the Ferrari's together have 2 kids though everyone is married. Those eggs are not getting younger. Last point, Dario is starting to sound like the leopard men on Eli's team and the bikers Series.
This was book 8 in the "Shadow Riders" series. Geno Ferraro is the head of the New York Ferraro family. There is a rogue family of shadow riders out to exterminate all shadow riders, and they make the mistake coming to New York and killing the parents of Geno Ferraro. Amaranthe Aubert is a petite ballet dancer and teacher at the Ferraro Performing Arts Theater Company she is also a Rider who is a trained killer. As one of the "Elite" the best of the best Shadow riders she is on a mission to figure out who is targeting Shadow riders, and she is sure the next targets are in New York. These two met, at a stressful time his shadow reaching for hers. When Stefano comes to help celebrate the engagement of Amara and Geno Ferraro and he is the next one targeted. In order to save Stefano’s life, her secret is revealed and in catching the culprits, Geno nearly dies. This was a good read with a lot going on in it like the other books in this series. I really liked Amaranthe she was very confident in her ability to get the job done and she was just as dangerous as the guys. I liked both of these characters the sex scenes were ok but not as hot as the last book. I also love the secondary characters in this series. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more book in this series and hopefully a book about Dario.
Review: SHADOW DANCE (A Shadow Riders Novel Book 8) by Christine Feehan https://bit.ly/3L7x6eI Publication Date: August 22, 2023 Genre: Paranormal Romance Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated 4 Stars
I enjoyed the introduction to the New York Ferraros. They are fierce, loyal, dangerous, and yet share a lighthearted camaraderie that tempers their dangerous personalities. It did take me a little bit to warm up to Geno and Amaranthe, so the insta-love once their shadows merged didn’t mesh with me. Thankfully that changed as their attraction and mutual respect blossomed into a loving and romantic dance. I particularly enjoyed watching Geno struggle with his need to shelter her while respecting her innate abilities that rivaled his. They made quite the couple. The storyline was compelling and had my heart racing a few times. I liked that the Chicago Ferraros were there to help round out this new direction of the Riders. I look forward to the next installment!

I'm only halfway through the book but want to review it before I forget my thoughts. I own dozens of CF's books, including this whole series so far. The repetition is getting annoying. Her characters constantly have the same thoughts over and over, as if she or her editor think the readers will forget their motivation. I've made it to the first sex scene and the choreography is inconsistent. Is she on her back, her side? If she's facing away from him how can he see her lashes flutter? Same thing happened when Amaranthe was in bed after being injured but could apparently see the full view outside the window, as well as the hardwood floors.
These seem like little things but for such a prolific author come off as careless to me. These small things kick me right out of the story as well. At this point, I might skip the sex scenes just to get on to who dunnit.
Slower-paced, lower level of suspense, although the storyline was high stakes it just felt less to me, fewer sex scenes and interestingly, their first sexual connection was not satisfying for both partners and it was something they had to work on together which I give Christine Feehan credit for including in this story.
Too much world information and repetitive introspection took away from the romance storyline ,and the feeling of connection for me as a reader to Amaranthe and Geno.
I feel like this story is being used to set up for upcoming books in this series.
Shadow Dance by Christine Feehan is the 8th book in her fantastic Shadow Riders series. I have note that I loved this book, as we got to meet the New York Ferraro family, and throughout the whole book we spend so much time with all of our favorite Chicago family. So much fun and entertaining. Refresher: Shadow riders have the ability to blend themselves to the shadows wherever they are, making themselves invisible to anyone. The Ferraro family runs a legitimate business; they use their ability to help others in need to solve various problems and dispense justice. They are an extremely powerful and close-knit family that is totally loyal to one another, also protecting the people that in live in their community.
We meet Geno Ferraro, the head of the New York Shadow Rider family. He protects his territory, and his two brothers. Geno senses something is amiss, with a number or murders against shadow riders all over the US & Europe. He thinks he has found an assassin, and calls Stefano to help him interrogate this person.
We meet Amaranthe (Amara) Aubert, our heroione, who is a famous dancer, now in New York to perform in the upcoming Romeo and Juliett show. Amara, is captured by Geno, as he threatens her, thinking she is one of the murderers. But soon he realizes with Stefano’s help, that she is a shadow rider working for the Archambault family to secretly find the enemies. Amara knows that she needs to reveal her true reason for being in New York, especially with two powerful Shadow Riders leaders. Geno realizes that Amara is the one for him, and their attraction to each other is immediate, though Amara will not open up her heart, as she is determined to complete her mission. In a short period, Amara begins to fall hard for Geno, as well as his two fun brothers. The romance between Geno and Amara was fierce and inspiring, as they were fantastic individuals, with Amara also being a powerful shadow rider. Everything changes for both of them, as Geno never thought he would find the woman of his dreams, and Amara never had a family.
As noted above, all the members of the Chicago Ferarro’s played such a big part in helping fight the enemy, as well as other riders from various states. I just loved seeing all of my favorites, and the fun they had teasing each other. Amara was an amazing heroine, with her fast-moving ability within the shadows, including at one time saving Stefano’s life.
Shadow Dance was an emotional story on many levels; the danger and threats from the evil shadow riders, as well as the sizzling romance between Geno and Amara, not to mention the wonderful bond all the Ferraro’s have for each other. Geno wasn’t thrilled that Amara wanted to continue be a shadow rider, but he knew that any fears he had, resulted in her own fears for him. I will not give spoilers, as I do not want to ruin it for you; especially since this was a masterpiece.
Shadow Dance was a captivating, exciting, suspenseful, action-packed from start to finish; especially the fantastic last third of the book; where all the Ferraro family was is in danger. Their romance was sizzling and I did love Geno and Amara together. This was an awesome addition to this series, and I was very happy that we will get more Shadow Riders stories from other families.
Christine Feehan once again gives us a fabulous story, which was so very well written. This is a fantastic Paranormal series (quickly becoming my favorite series). If you have not read this series, you need to start with the first book. If you have read them all, you will love this one.
This author returns to her compelling, action-packed sweet romance best with this novel. I’m not sure if this was written as a response to some of the backlash from the recent tendency towards ultra-dark, ultra-violent, dark sexuality in romance that has been a feature of this author’s previous books. But this was the antithesis of that. Yes, this is still a somewhat dark story and certainly content warnings must be flagged for sexual abuse and paedophilia but they are off page and part of the plot rather than brutally detailed as in some of this author’s recent work.
The premise of this is that classical ballet dancer and shadow rider, Amaranthe, is in New York undercover for some shadow rider business when she runs afoul of Ferraro New York branch boss, Geno. With their shadows interweaving, they instantly know they’re meant for each other, but with unknown dark forces out to decimate the entire Ferraro family, they are on the clock to find their enemies before they become victims of the rampaging killers.
I thought there was a lot to like in this book. Even though this book is set in New York, we get the ensemble cast of Chicago Ferraros we’ve grown to know and love. So, there are a lot of old and familiar favourites in this linking to the first seven books in the series. The family dynamic of support and love and protection is unmatched and well executed. Amaranthe is super confident in her professional abilities, rightfully so as she is both a great dancer and a bada$$ shadow rider. In terms of intimacy between Geno and Amaranthe, it was handled with all the maturity and responsibility one could hope for.
This was fun and difficult to put down and I’m excited for this current phase of CF books.
Geno and Amara. They are a great couple and I enjoyed their revelation about masks that they wear. The family scenes are always a favorite and learning more about this elite rider who police’s the riders and the police family was fascinating. Seeing the tension between the two cousins was a new dynamic, but I loved it bc it showed Francesca in a new and stronger light, Geno outside his mask, and Taviano and Nicolette strong in their relationship and self. Parts of the story were absurd with how historical events were handled and how non riders were accomplishing so much, but other parts such as Geno’s care of his family and people, the dynamic between Emme and her husband and brothers made for a great read. I enjoyed seeing Geno get his HEA and that there might be more to this NY branch since they reference the oldest brother falling in love first, but Dario still stole the show for me. His demeanor is captivating and his attitude hilarious. The showdown he had with Emme over his protection and the buttons he pushes make him a favorite and keep me intrigued on his stories, his history, and how his story will play out!
Geno Ferraro, the head of the N.Y. Ferraro set's a trap for the individuals committing crimes and murders in his territory. Amaranthe Albert who dances and works for the Ferraro Performing Arts Theatre is captured and brought to Geno's home for interrogation. Geno feels that something is off and Amara isn't what she appears to be. When he enters the room his and Amanda's shadows connect. Regardless of the attraction, Geno's determined to find out is Amara an Assassin sent to kill the N.Y. Ferraros.
Amara proves her innocence to Geno in a unique way and their relationship slowly grows with mutual respect, communication and trust as Elite Shadow Riders and mates.
What follows is a plot within a plot based on revenge and the destruction of ALL shadow riders. Things are revealed from the past that are brutal and heartbreaking. The sins of the fathers are pasted down to the sons and the legacy will be felt by all shadow riders. Will Geno and Amanda's love for each other and family be enough to survive what's coming?
I thought this series was gonna be over once all the siblings had their HEA but then this book dropped and now I can’t wait for all the other family (both blood & found) members to get their HEA too! This story was so great. I loved Amara so much and the way that Geno is with her is just…SWOON. I’ve never wanted to be a ballet dancer and to fall in love with an Italian more in my life. Like seriously, is it too late? Am I too short & curvy? Can this happen to me? Anyway, I digress. If you love any of Christine Feehan’s books you’ll love this one and if you’ve never read her books before 1. Hit a girl up, I have mad recs 2. You will love her 3. Please start with book one of this series just so you get as hooked as me and we can talk about all things Shadow Hunters. Seriously. I need me some CF readers in my life.
•Shadow Hunters •Slow Burn •Found Family •Touch her and unalive •Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Someone is killing members of the Ferraro family, other riders. Geno Ferraro is determined to discover who it is... his determination to find out how this tiny ballet dancer, Amaranthe, is involved how he's determined to protect those in his heart, had me on the edge of my seat from the very first page!
Not my favorite of the series but an interesting story and I likes Geno and Amara just wish there's been more focus onto heir relationship and they'd had more time to get to know one another
