Samuel was an unusual young teen. He lived with his Aunt Elena. Who was a witch. Not that she was a mean woman, she was an actual practitioner of what regular people call magic. Then the life of the teen got even more unusual, when his aunt found he liked to wear girl's clothes. And then his aunt introduced Samuel to his own soul--the soul of a young woman named Shenandoah. And then things got really unusual.
In this story we enter another world. The world of magic, of good and evil, love and hate, healing and destruction. Through all this our hero Shenandoah finds herself and the love of her heart, a love which through darkness wins through to the light. The story is well told, with many unexpected twists and turns.
Great story concept. Should be advertised in the fantasy section not just in the LGTBQ area. The only reason for only 4 stars is a matter of writing style. I was slowed down below my normal reading speed largely due to the near constant change of focus every 2-3 paragraphs. This is an issue specific to me so others may well rate it a 5.
