What happens when you rescue your young nephew, are wanted for kidnapping, and get snowed in with an ex-cop? This story has a lot of excitement swirled in with a dollop of romance.

Charity has such a good heart and is trying desperately to save her nephew from a past that's like hers and her sister's. Brookes is hiding out to escape a tragic page in his history. It felt a little like Goldie Locks meets a big, bad Grumpy Bear with marshmallow stuffing, but that's what really made the close proximity dial up the excitement.

Fun characters, an intense and snowy situation, and a healthy dose of good family and religious values made this one a cozy winter read.

Content: mild romance; brief mentions of abuse, death; moderate religion

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

MY TAKE
Another thrilling tale from Fowers. Charity has just risked everything in an attempt to get her nephew out of danger--and, believe me, she knows it's not just the weird message from her twin sister because Charity experiences the danger first hand. The last thing she needs is to land as the unwelcome guest/prisoner of an ex-cop who believes all the horrible things her brother-in-law has had the police put out about her.

Brookes is a bitter and angry man who's suffered a terrible loss at the hands of someone he was pretty much helpless to stop. But he's not going to let another kid get hurt. But Charity confuses him. She doesn't come across at all like the charges being put against her. Thus begins a back-and-forth relationship beginning that filled with trust and doubt.

It's insta-love, but it also has plot twists and a wonderful redemption story. 4 1/2 stars

This was a great story. A story the help remind us to help others in need and to be loving and forgiving.
Charity gets a panicked call from her sister that her nephew is in danger. Without a second thought she heads to her sisters. After being locked in a room by her very influential brother-in-law she is able to escape with her nephew. However on their escape they get stuck in the snow and have to abandon the car.
Brookes is a retired police officer. After losing his family to a drink driving incident he wants to forget about the holiday’s and secludes himself at his cabin in Silver Forest. While checking in his generator he sees a women and a kid walking in the snow nearly frost bit. He takes them to his place to warm them up.
After feeling like an intruder and unwelcome Charity struggles to find her place and locate her sister. After spending time together they are able to help each other and all is looking good. Then the driver that killed Brookes’ family shows up. As Brookes’ looks at him and realized that the has also suffered through the years he chooses to forgive.
Charity’s brother-in-law comes to the cabin via helicopter to get his son. However behind the scenes things have been happening. When the good guys show up and save the day.

This was a really good book set during Christmas. That played such a significant part in the story.  I could not put the book down  because  there was mystery, suspense, surprises, and sweet moments to keep me turning the pages.  The story about Brookes and his past pulled me in immediately and so did the opening of the book which set up Charity's story.   I liked that the romantic suspense kept my heart pounding from the first page until the end.
I  enjoyed how Charity and  her name held significance  many times during the story.  That was quite clever.  I liked how Charity and Brookes both turned to their faith to get through their past and to help them when life or their emotions got the better of them.  I thoroughly enjoyed the epilogue and I am very excited that there will be another book in the future.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

I had a hard time getting the sleep I needed over the past few days as I read this wonderful book. I have read other books by this author but I think this is my favorite. Her stories are clean and wholesome and this one has a little grit.

Charity was trying to find her sister and save her nephew from a horrible man; his father. She ran straight into a blizzard and a snowbank and eventually into the arms of Brookes. I really liked how the relationship between Charity and Brookes developed. And, the way that Brookes was able to move toward forgiveness and healing over time. There were some tense moments in the book when the bad guys got close to destroying their hard-fought happiness. But, there is a happy ending for almost everyone involved.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.

Snowed in at Silver Forest

Wow! I could not put this book down. The action starts at the first page and the book just keeps getting better after. Charity had a cryptic note from her sister to please protect her nephew as he is in trouble. Needless to say, Charity is on the run with her nephew during a snowstorm. She makes a wrong turn and ends up snowed in at the home of an ex-cop. Has she just sealed her fate? This book deals with abuse, loss of loved ones, and forgiveness; yet, the young child gives it the right amount of humor as well.

Don’t miss this romantic suspense novel!

I really loved this book, it’s nonstop action right from the beginning! The romantic suspense keeps you guessing about what will happen with Brookes and Charity as well as the situation they find themselves in. It’s also a beautiful story about Christmas with themes of love, trust, hope, forgiveness and more. The book was hard to put down and might lead to sleepless nights while you figure out how it’s all going to end!

The perfect storm. I read this story over Christmas weekend, during a huge, 3-day storm. It was the perfect time to read it. I really enjoyed this Christian sweet suspenseful romance and I recommend it. Definitely ideal to read at Christmastime in front of a crackling fire with some hot chocolate and marshmallows with some quiet music playing in the background. Enjoy!

Fantastic!

I love me a good Stephanie Fowers book to read for Christmas, and Snowed in at Silver Forest didn't disappoint! The plot was engaging and I was turning pages just as fast as I could to find out what happened next as Charity tried to keep her nephew safe. Brookes really was a big softie Grumpy Bear with a heart of gold. Get ready for the tissues on this one!

loved the beginning and epilogue…

But the middle didn’t work for me. 3 1/2 stars.
I love he concept, and the characters were unique. The opening 1/3 of the book was great. However, things seemed jerky and disjointed once the romance ramped up. It seemed more like the characters were puppets rather than individuals. I nearly gave up, but did end up finishing the book.

This is a very well written Christian suspense/action/mystery/romance book. It was written at Christmas, so it was the perfect read for this time of year. I was drawn in from the first chapter.

I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.

Charity is on the run with her nephew and gets snowed in the Brooks. They have more in common than they realize. Watching these two connect as danger grows closer kept me reading and on the edge of my seat. Loved how they both turned to the Lord to gain strength, understanding, and forgiveness. A few twists and turns.
