Dreary Shadows will always be the place where I lost my soul. I’d look back on my memories of this town one day and feel torn. I found myself, made friends, and found my seven vampires. I also took my last breath here and faced so much darkness it almost suffocated me.
Trying to find Blade has become impossible as the weeks pass. Whether he hurt me or not, he was my best friend and he was in trouble. I wouldn’t stop until I got answers and Ezra got his mate back. Even if my vamps want to kill him for what he did.
It's vampires vs witches and we can't afford to lose. We have to find Blade and win this war once and for all. I’ll turn to ash before letting my mother destroy everything that I love.
*This is a 62k word vampire reverse harem book and it is the final instalment in the Dreary Shadows series. It must be read in order.
R.E. Bond is a dark romance author from Tasmania, Australia. She is obsessed with reverse harem books, especially if they have m/m! She collects paperbacks as a hobby, has read or written every day since she started high school, and constantly needs music in her daily life. She loves camping and rodeos in the summer, and not getting out of bed in the winter. Coffee and books are life, and curse words are just sentence enhancers.
**I received an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review** What a wild ride?! While I’m so sad to say goodbye to these characters, I have to say that this book made me so happy to finally see their story come to an end and then get to be happy. They deserve the world and, while this book certainly had its ups and downs, the ending made it all worth it!
I decided to pick this up so I could begin finishing up some series I had started but not finished and I'm not sure if it's because I'm in a slump but I just didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the previous books. It feels mean to say but I just wasn't invested in these characters or the story anymore and the writing style only exacerbated these feelings. What felt like a lack of depth in the writing made me to feel indifferent the whole time I was reading. Even the spice felt very bland because there wasn't that much detail put into any of the interactions we saw, which is a shame because I was living for the spicy scenes in books two and three. 😪
The pacing also somehow felt both rushed and slow at the same time? I felt like I was waiting for something to happen for 90% of the book because it read more like a day in the life kind of story. There was a lot of talking about things that happened off page and a lot of training and preparation for a final battle only for it to start and finish in less than a chapter. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into it, I didn't dislike it and there were some parts I enjoyed but overall I just felt very meh while reading. It is what it is I guess. 🤷🏼♀️
I will say that I am very interested in our trio of reapers; Midnight, Malice, and Thorn! I think I would really enjoy a story about them in the future! 👀
This book starts right where Dreary Shadows Part Three had ended. It’s fast-paced, extremely steamy, and heart-wrenching, and a lot is going on in this book to make it an epic series finale!
Lilith and her seven alpha-hole vampires are dealing with a lot between trying to find Blade and figure out what happened and also trying to prepare for war with the fallen. Nothing has ever come easy to them though and so it’s just mass chaos. Lilith is also trying to get her last two vampires to finally bond with her. Everything has been leading up to this insane battle with Victoria and the fallen and you will not be disappointed by what ensues.
There are quite a few jaw-dropping moments that shocked me along with a few blasts from the past and shocking reveals. Not gonna lie, chapter seventeen had me crying! The epilogue was truly beautiful and provided the perfect closure and ending for this series! This entire series has been crazy, funny, sexy, thrilling, and all-consuming and it’s definitely one of my favorite vampire series!
This is the 4th and final book in RE Bonds Dreary Shadows series. It was a little sad having to say goodbye to Lil and her Vamps. If you love a paranormal, dark, why choose story, this is the series for you.
The final installment of Lilith and her 7 vamps and it did not disappoint. This story pulled out all the stops; my heart bled at different moments, yet at the same time you find yourself laughing out loud with Gunnar’s antics and the way the guys try and deal with him for Lilith’s sake. The character development was amazing, especially when it came to angry Chaos and Zeus. All lingering questions I had about Lilith and her lineage were all answered making her one witch I would not mess with. I wish to return to Dreary Shadows for more!!! 5+ stars. PS I want the REAPERS!
Dreary Shadows Part Four by R.E. Bond is a paranormal reverse harem. This is the fourth and final book in the Dreary Shadows series.
I love Rachel's books! She did a great job wrapping up this series. I am going to miss these characters. I loved the relationship between Lilith, Cain, Emmett, Chaos, Sebastian, Lorenzo, Zeus, and Gunnar. It's messy but you can't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book.
If you are looking for a steamy paranormal romance, I would recommend this series.
The first two books were great and the storyline was strong but then book 3-4 were just full of down right dirty smut. The storyline died a lot so I wasn’t a fan of this last book but I’m glad I read the series
The final part of Dreary Shadows. This book takes off right where book three ended. Blade is gone. Was he taken, or was he running from doing something foolish? When Lilith thinks he had nothing to do with the explosion, the guys think different, even Ezra is questioning everything.
And then there were seven...Chaos, Enzo, Cain, Sebastian, Emmett, Zeus and Gunner are all what Lilith want. In this life or the next, they are what she needs and completes her like no other. They set aside their differences to search for her friend even when they think he was up to no good. What they find leads them to more questions than before. And soon we are left with a showdown we have all been waiting for.
With an Ares Sandwich, lots of fun times and a hunger like no other - they find themselves in a situation that will only end in death. But who's!? Lilith, with three species of power is destined to make things right again.
"Dead girls don't need sleep, they need good dick."
This conclusion was good, and I enjoyed it, however I found the ending to be a bit anticlimactic with the entire witch thing. I definitely wanted more with that. I loved how her relationship blossomed with the guys, I still think it could have been cut down a bit and added a wolf here or there...lol. I'm hoping, we get to see more from this world, whether it be with wolfs or more Vampires. I enjoy RE Bond's writing and can't wait for more.
*Overall 3.5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Fast Burn *Multiple first person POV *MMFMMMMM *Ends on HEA
Lilith has everything she could want with her seven vampire men, her friends, and her powers. That all changes when her friend goes missing and she does everything in her power to find him. When she finds out he was targeted because of her, she works with her men to hone her powers and prepare for their biggest battle yet. Lilith must do everything in her power to win the war, save her friend, and the loves of her life.
This might contradict the rating I gave, but I actually enjoyed this book. I thought this book was the best one in the series and tied things up nicely for Lilith and her men. The plot was interesting and the spice was good. Seven men in a why choose can be a lot, but they're great in group scenes 😏
My biggest issue with this book, and the entire series, is the writing style. There's an overuse of exclamation points in every book in this series that makes the writing and characters come off juvenile. This book started off better than the others, but then it got over saturated with the exclamation points and grammar used in texts (ex: ?!?!), which ultimately lowered the rating for me.
I wonder if there will be a series about the reapers. She set it up in a way that made me want to know more about them, so I'm hoping they're get their own story.
I’m sooooooo sad it’s over 😭 this has been 1 of my favourite vampire book series ever and I’m a sucker for vamps 😜 but I am hoping I will get to meet them again 😍
As usual Rach absolutely nailed it with her awesome story telling. I love her style of writing and it always has me hooked from the moment I start reading her books.
I loved everything about the end of this story, so much was happening but it flowed so well and rounded off Lillith and her crazy ass harems story perfectly. I laughed so hard at some parts of this books I had tears rolling down my face, but I was also heartbroken at other points with more tears. It was a rollercoaster of emotion from start to end but I never wanted to get off. I could read about these guys forever 🖤
Gunner is still my number 1 psycho, his 1 liners are the best thing ever. All the guys have a little piece of my heart but Gun has that little extra 🖤
The spice was next level 🥵🥵 obviously with that many vampires around of course it would be with some very surprising and extremely wanted additions 😉
The end was beautifully written and rounded off the whole series perfectly. I’m hoping some side characters get there own story at some point as I would love to see what happens there 🖤
This will be a series I will read over and over again 🖤
Wow so much happened in this book. Blade was missing and after weeks of tracking they found nothing. Lilith still worked on her powers and had a vision of Blade being killed by witches. When they got to the spot they could tell a fairy had been there and Ezra knew he wasn’t dead. She worked on mastering her powers. The fallen started to work with necromancer and brought people back from their pasts. Sebastian was cursed and turned back into a human. She and Zeus finally bonded. During the final battle she found out Hera was killed and her power was taken by Destiny, when she died Hera somehow transferred to Lilith. Dean (her stepdad) showed up. He was her uncle and a fairy. He had been sent to destroy the fallen and watch Victoria. The fallen are destroyed and Dean curses Emmet of his addiction. Malice ( a reaper) kills Victoria and takes her soul. Cain’s ex and Chaos’ ex kill Sebastian. They try to turn him but it doesn’t work. Pixie comes back with ingredients. Hera helps make a curse reversal and Sebastian is able to come back as a vampire. When Dean came back he brought Blade who he had saved. Ezra and Blade go back to their pack. Theo moves in with everyone. 5 years later they had moved and Blade and Ezra tracked them down and then they all caught up before the guys had to leave again.

Dreary Shadows Part Four, the finale in theDreary Shadowsseries is here. And begins right from the cliffhanger that R.E. Bond left us hanging on inDreary Shadows Part Three.
The narrative was filling given all that was going on. Whether it be the exploration within the relationships that continued to evolve between Lilith and each of her guys. Which led to moments of drama coming into play, given the ups and downs. The drama also ensued within the situations and events that were still at play as well as some that had arisen. It took you upon another crazy suspenseful ride filled with secrets, deceit and lies, but for the final time with being the last book.
The narrative was entertaining with all the hilarious moments, having you LOL’ing. Simultaneously it had times of heartfelt moments given the deeply emotions displayed. Which did hit hard, from the punch to the gut of the cause behind it. There was also the case R.E. Bond managed to wrap everything up once and for all. Finally giving us all the answers to the many questions to put together the puzzle that wasDreary Shadows Part Four, since the loose ends were finally tied up.
Maybe it’s just me but again it seemed like the basis of the plot centered around Lilith and her relationships and the steam they created in their many moments together. As opposed to much else, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. However considering the main plot seemed to take a back seat, it just meant there wasn’t much substance to the overall story. Since the relationships overpowered the overall narrative, paving way for quite a bit of repetitiveness from the constant steamy moments. Which unfortunately did have my attention waning a few times throughout. WithDreary Shadows Part Fourbeing the final part to the Dreary Shadowsseries, it had me expecting more. Especially seeing as the main storyline that had been building from the beginning of the series ended up feeling like an afterthought. Seeing as how it came about and then ended so abruptly, making it anticlimactic IMO.
All in all,Dreary Shadows Part Fourended up being a decent read, even with my issues R.E. Bond always kept me reading on. Making the series an overall good read.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
We start where part three ended. With Blade missing and under suspicion for blowing up Theo’s bar. Lilith and the guys must work together which can be a job in itself especially with a vampire like Gunnar. He needs a babysitter wherever he goes. Lilith must learn how to use her powers quickly because her mother and the fallen are coming for her.
This is the conclusion of this series and I’m not ready for it. From part one I was always hopeful that Blade and Ezra would be part of Lilith’s harem of men but alas she sees them just as friends. Their goodbye was heartbreaking and I hated it, not because it was bad but because it made me cry. Plus another part did too! Ack I’m not a cryer dang it! Gunnar’s banter and antics brought me through the sad parts. He is a psychopath that drives everyone up the wall but makes life interesting. You just never knew what would come out of his mouth.
This was too quick of a read. I could not put this down until I knew what would happen in the end. Plenty of action and all the steam you could ask for. Even though I wanted more this was a good conclusion to Lilith’s story. Lilith, Chaos, Cain, Emmett, Sebastian, Enzo, Zeus and Gunnar get their forever HEA.
Okay look, I think I just cracked the code and I’m a tiny bit embarrassed it took me this long… but I’m convinced the seven male main characters are meant to be the Seven Deadly Sins. Don’t quote me, I haven’t googled it and absolutely cannot be bothered confirming, but the vibes? IMMACULATE. It actually explains a lot, because honestly… keeping track of that many men was like herding cats. Sexy, moody cats with zero distinguishing features besides temperaments and trauma.
Once our girl came into her powers though? THAT was the moment I’d been waiting for. The story finally got teeth. I wanted more of that and maybe a smidge less of the nonstop spicy circus acts. Not that I wasn’t quietly enjoying the buffet, every combination had its moment, let’s be real. But I’m a plot girlie at heart and I wanted more meat on the bones, and the last half finally delivered.
The reaper cameos? Inject it straight into my veins. They’re such fun, weird, chaotic little gremlins and I love seeing them pop up again.
After that saggy middle in books two and three, this one absolutely redeemed the series for me. Great balance of action, drama, chaos, and vampy spice. Now I’m just sitting here like… what next?!
I did enjoy this series. I think overall I liked book 1 and 2 the best. This one did wrap everything up and give them the hea I wanted. It was action packed from beginning to end and I didn't feel like there was too much mundane everyday things.
I liked Chaos from the beginning and then in book 2 Gunnar came along and he jumped to my favorite, but now I think Gunnar has gone past the "OTT psychotic" trait. He had some laugh out loud moments, but then some were a little annoying.
There was a moment that was pretty gut wrenching and I didn't know how it was going to turn out, but everything happens for a reason. I'm going to miss Lilith and her vamps, but I'm hoping for more in this world. I would like to see more of the Reapers. What we did see off then piqued my interest and would love to get to know them more.
This has been such a quirky, entertaining series, such a novel take on the supernatural. The way the vampire’s especially still wrestle with the issues their immortality brings them shows that no one has a perfect life, even immortals. The sense of family and caring for each other, even Gunnar speaks to me throughout the series. Lil is special to all of the guys and brings peace to their jaded souls even now she’s a vampire too. The way her powers have been growing throughout the series comes to a head here. The way Lil embraces other supernaturals such as the wolves sets her apart and helps the others see them the way she does. Plenty spice again in this book, boy do the vampire’s have some stamina! Really enjoyed this series and sad it’s over, hoping we’ll get a new one featuring Midnight, Thorn and Malice, they definitely sound an interesting group.
This book wrapped everything up for me. It was a great finale for me. Lilith and her 7 vamps really had me going crazy through this whole series. From the angry Chaos, to the hilarious Gunnar. Gunnar in this book had me laughing so hard at everything. it's what the series needed. It was a little fast-paced to me, but it was fine. I enjoyed it like I did the other three. Between the war with the Fallen, and Blade disappearing on them, it was an adventure I'd reread in a heart beat. Even though PNR isn't my thing; R.E. Bond did her thing, and I got through it with a smile on my face. I was thrilled with this last book, and the ending really got me. Sometimes I wish it didn't end, but then again, it ended perfectly to me. I waited forever to get to the ending and see the HEA that was how it should be. Read the series, you won't be disappointed.
DAMN!!! This was a thrilling and deliciously steamy conclusion to this fantastic series. It starts right were we left off in Part Three and continues at 100 miles an hour, only slowing down for some highly erotic moments between Lilith and her unhinged alpha-hole men. There were so many dark moments, tons of steamy moments and a whole lot of utterly hilarious moments that cut through the dark and had me cracking up like crazy. Gunner is an absolute goofball and you can’t help but love his craziness and the weird things that come out of his mouth.
Lilith and her men go through a lot of growth in this final part. They finally learn how to work together so that they can prepare for the final battle to come. They have their ups and downs and some very heartbreaking moments, but overall, they build a stronger unit when they work together and their bond is tighter than ever.
Fantastic conclusion that was action packed, suspenseful, emotional, violent, bloody and damn sexy. There were many jaw dropping moments that will shock you and keep you riveted to your seat, and the ending is the perfect closure that we needed for this amazing series.
Sooo much drama, angst, secrets, revelations, feels, twists, turns, things going sideways, and lots and lots of heat 🔥🔥. Loved reading Dreary Shadows Part 4 and finding out how the story ends. I can honestly say I did not see the ending coming. I am going to miss Lilith and the guys. I laughed and cried and just loved it all. Dreary Shadows will be missed by readers just as much as Lilith misses it. I truly and honestly recommend Dreary Shadows Part 4, Dreary Shadows the series, and R.E. Bond as an author. I absolutely love R.E. Bond as an author and she is on my top of my favorite author list. I can never predict what will happen next. She has characters and worlds that draws you in and readers get lost in the worlds she creates. So much so that it’s hard to leave it all behind. I can’t wait to see what R.E. will write next! Happy Reading!
What a incredible world dreary shadows was, a sweet ending too. Finding a group of people to call family and a place you feel like you belong. Even with four parts to this series you can imagine more can be added if our amazing author chooses too and there are other characters who could have their own story which I always love when you come across stories like that as even though FMC is awesome you can’t help loving all the characters even the ones that’s are not part of the POV. Dreary shadows is full of some fun and very twisted plots. It’s light considering it’s full of vamps, witches, reapers, wolves and fairy’s but the smut side is there, and a lot of it. If you read any other stories by R.E Bond then you know she doesn’t hold back and like to add more to the RH 😜
This series had me hooked from book one, and has kept me intrigued throughout. I love a good vampire story and RE Bond delivered.
This last book wraps up so many questions, and even has a few unexpected twists. Like the fact that Lilith is now not only a vampire but she kept her witch and fairy powers as well. Let’s just say with great power, come those that want to take it. Lilith and her seven crazy vampires make me laugh, swoon, and a little envious of their bedroom shenanigans. Although, I have to say Gunnar is truly my kind of psycho.
If you haven’t started this series I absolutely recommend it. If you have, I hope you enjoy the final book in the Dreary Shadows series as much as I did. 4.75/stars
I’m very picky about PNR series but I loved this one from the start and this was the perfect ending to a wonderful series. I felt completely satisfied with how everything wrapped up.
Just because it was the end of the series, doesn’t mean it wasn’t full of action and drama! So much excitement was packed into this book, as well as lots of spice. I even got choked up at some points. And of course, we got a lot of humor, courtesy of my favorite character, Gunnar.
I also really enjoyed the side characters in this book, like Midnight, so I’m really hoping this isn’t the end for the Dreary Shadows world. I enjoyed these books immensely and even though I was happy with the ending I’m definitely not ready to say goodbye!
Dreary Shadows part 4 . The final book in this delicious paranormal series. The book picks up where pt 3 left off . Lilith dealing with the confusion & pain of her bestfriend to dealing with her evil jealous mother, all while juggling her harem of sexy vampires .
As the story continues we get those hilarious LOL moments from gunnar meanwhile the others are trying to keep a level head by not going off the deep end & murdering him for the sake of Lilith.
We get all the emotions from everyone with this final book as well as more back story to the characters. All around this was the perfect finale to An amazing series with a whole lot of steam a headstrong heroine & hot alphahole men . I'll miss this series and I'm excited to see what else this author has in store .
If this ever gets a boxset I'm so slamming that buy now button. Just, full fist to the elbow right into it. If anyone wants to give us a movie? I'll help with set pieces. I was SO stoked for this series and now that it's over I just...sigh.
With upcoming projects I'm selfishly hoping we get some cameos. This crew has been utter insanity, and I don't just mean Gunnar. Ups and downs and in and outs, it's a trip down a rabbit hole that I adored every page of.
I didn't want to cry because I wouldn't stop so I did take longer to read this one. The second my throat got that itch I had to put it down. I can't imagine what Rach was going through, it had to be difficult. But man was it so worth it. I really loved this one.
It was a decent end to this story. Definitely better than the last book. A few interesting twist I did not see comming, was fun. A little annoyed the final fighting scenes was not better or longer. Did feel I was waiting for it for 2-3 books and then it was over in very few pages with little action actually going on. The training session was better described and longer than the actual big bad fight.
If I ever where to read this series again, I will probably only read the first book and not bother with the rest. The first book is the best. But worth reading the whole story once (you can definitely drop the third book without to much loss of story.)
This series has had me hooked since book 1 and it was an amazing journey! And of course, R.E. Bond wrote the ending so perfectly! Seeing the growth and the trials Lilith had to go through to get to this ending gahhh I loved every second! I cried like a baby through some parts of this (especially at the end.)
I have read a ton of PNR RH stories and this is by far one of the best I have read. The relationships as separate, and as a whole is wonderful.
These characters will forever hold a special place in my heart and I'm happy that Lilith and her guys finally get to breathe and enjoy an eternity together as a family.
I am so sad this series is ending but I loved these characters so much and the story was fantastic! Bond will always be one of my favorites to do why choose!
This book had all the yumminess, craziness and excitement you want. I loved the set up and discoveries that were made with the depth of the relationships to keep you stuck and wanting to know the end 😊 I just loved the flow of the story and the dramatics to come with it because what’s a dreary shadows book without the dramatics and the crazy vampires 😂😂 I could never choose a favorite guy cause I loved them all but I will always, always, always love Gunnar psychoticness above all else. That guy was making me laugh left and right.
I can’t believe the series is over…From the moment i pick up book one i knew this was gonna be a new favorite series of mine. The author did not disappoint at all.
I loved all the characters so much and to watch them all grow together was amazing. Lil became stronger while still remaining badass and kind. Chaos was actually getting along with Gunner. Lorenzo & Zeus coming to terms with their feelings for Lil and really embracing it?? ugh loved. & The then end with the wolves??? it really had me tearing up.
What a wild ride this series took me on. If i could read it all for the first time again i would.😭🫶🏼🫶🏼
