No good deed goes unpunished. But maybe making a deal with a demon was a bad idea.

After freeing a demon from a century-long captivity, rogue alchemist Tev finds himself yanked through the veil between realms and dumped in what has to be hell. He can handle that. Losing Misha, his one bright spot in the world? Not so much.

Who makes deals with demons? Not Fillery hotel manager Misha. Demons and the like are the stuff of nightmares, not dreams. Misha dreams of a life with Tev. Sure, Tev hates him, but Misha can change his mind. All he has to do is get through the veil. No matter the cost.

With a war brewing between fairies and demons, Tev and Misha are caught in a devious double cross, but Tev has a secret he’s going to use to twist the game his way.

And nothing will stop him.

Sorcery’s Call is book two of an exciting MM paranormal fantasy series called Demon Tales and Fairy Games, where demons, fairies, and trolls live with unsuspecting humans. Sometimes light, sometimes dark, always sweet, magical, and romantic. Happily ever after guaranteed. Especially for those who enjoy unrequited love, emotional scars, dark obsession, and fish out of water tropes. Each book tells a complete story with a different couple, but these books must be read in order. No cheating, no unkindness.

Sorcery’s Call is the second book in the Demon tales and Fairy Games series. It really needs to be read after the first book, Socery’s Kiss. This is Tev and Misha’s story and what a doozy it is. The world building is fantastic in this series! They end up in the demon realm and are trying to find a way out. Tev and Misha’s character development and relationship was sooo freakin good. I loved they way their dynamic progressed. The suspense of a fae war!! Overall, this was sooo freakin good, fantastic really. Well written with addicting pacing that hooked me and didn’t let go until the end.

I've been anxiously waiting for this book after reading Sorcery's Kiss (which must be read first and worth the read 😁). This book picks up right where the first book finished.
Tev and Misha are introduced in the first book but they are some what of a mystery, especially Tev. You know there's more to him that what is known. And we get their story in this book, and boy what a story, taking place in the demon world. The world building was so good and intriguing.
As Tev and Misha try to figure out how to return home, their relationship begins to develop and their true feeling come through. Tev tried to fight and deny them but his feelings are too strong and Misha doesn't let him get away with it. And Misha's character developed and grew as the story progressed, making him realize that he's more than just a hotel manager. He found his back bone and compassion. And once Tev gives in, the sparks become fire.
The demons who lived this world were always up to no good, typical demons, but there were a few who did have some good in them. I was happy to see an old friend here from Sorcery's Fall (it's a prequel to the first book but I actually recommend reading it after Sorcery's Kiss). And old enemy also appears making things difficult for Tev and Misha to escape, dragging them into the suspense of a Fae war.
The book could have been a little shorter but it was not frustratingly dragged out. It does end with a cliff hanger which left me on tenterhooks. The reuniting of 2 characters who should never unite, creating even more trouble and suspense. Can't wait for the next book!!

This is the second book of the series and is best to have read the first book to better understand the back story between Misha the manager and owner of the Fillery Hotel ( at least after Aurora died) and Tev, the maintenance man of the Fillery Hotel an dAurora's secret alchemist. Book one ended with Tev freeing the demon, Neboleth and in the beginning of the second book just as it seems that Misha and Tev will admit their attraction, Neboleth takes Tev thru the rift and abandons him there. He is befriended by Dila, a half human and half demon female. The demon leader of the area, Rayga, wants Tev to turn gold into iron to get ready for a war with the Faries. Meanwhile, Misha, is determined to find Tev and when at a seance he ends up being sucked thru the rift. Misha is definitely not ready for demons. His safety ends up being the bargaining chip used by Rayga to get Tev to do his bidding. At first, Misha thinks he was mistaken and that Tev hates him but they soon start give in to their attraction and learn more about each other. Tev is determined to get them both back home. Will he be able to do it or will they be stuck on the demon side of the rift? I really enjoyed the continued world building in this book and the introduction of new characters that I'm sure we will see more of in future books.

The second book of the Demon Tales and Fairy Games series expands upon the world built in the slightly confusing book one. This story takes place in the Demon realm. Tev, the alchemist, is dragged into the demon realm by the demon freed in book one. Misha, assistant manager at the Fillery Hotel, now manager and owner after the death of his mom, plans a rescue which goes horridly wrong. And they both are trapped on the wrong side of the veil from the human realm.
Neither Misha nor Tev were sympathetic side characters in book one. And as MC, they are quite broken, mistrustful and a tad difficult to like. At least in the beginning. As I was drawn into their world, they became characters worth cheering on. And deserving of a HEA.
Well written. The book took it's time drawing me into the story. I am looking forward to the next book. And really hoping for Neboleth and Rayga's story.

I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of Tev and Misha in the first book, Sorcery's Kiss. (Truth to tell, I didn't think they were big fans of each other, either. LOL.) So, this book started a bit slow for me, but like a snowball rolling downhill, it became more compelling at I read. This book takes place mostly in the demon realm, where Tev and Misha are trapped and trying to get home. Great world-building and character development and growth. A bit of enemies-to-lovers or...were they ever really enemies? It was entertaining to watch them discover each others true feelings. Will they escape the demon realm and get back through the veil? Will they get caught in a fairy-demon war? You have to read this one to find out. (You know you already want to.) Very enjoyable and I am looking forward to the next book.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Getting sucked into the demon realm across the veil is not what either Tev or Misha wants, but it does force them to acknowledge how they really feel about each other. That also presents a problem, as they then become leverage for the demons to use against each other. Do what we want or we'll hurt the one you care about. It takes courage, cleverness, magic and a willingness to take risks for these two to survive in this series. There are wonderful characters both good and evil, plots and counterplots and plans for war. Great world building not to be missed.
