Ellipsis: A Love Story

Rate this book
Standing on the edge of the Brooklyn Bridge, grasping for the rail, but most of all the last breath of hope between a dream and oblivion...

Thea Scriven lives for her stories, her dream. To be a published author is the one thing her entire being aches to achieve, but luck has never been on her side. For years, all she'd received was formatted rejection from agents who'd spend merely a minute or two before deeming her and work unworthy of their time and interest. Five years, an ultimatum she'd given herself to chase a dream bordering unattainable, relentlessly working, determined to pour everything into her writing, giving everything she has until there is nothing left to give.

Fate and luck seem to have a change of heart when Adrian Friedman stumbles upon her path, uncovering the potential most had yet to find, reigniting her hope, and offering her more than she ever expected. With six months left on the table, Thea is exhausted. Long nights of waitressing for her brother's best friend, Aaron Mariani, and (not so politely) dealing with leering customers and their disgustingly unfiltered flirtatious advances, she contents herself in spending her days writing and in his arms. People expect their lives to change overnight, that some signs are worth more than any failure, and for Thea, that sign walked through the door of Aaron's bar with gray eyes mirroring what tomorrow could hold.

While some things will never be enough, are these signs enough to change the course of Thea's path, to save her love or break everything beyond repair?

Thank you to the author, for sending me an arc of this book🤍

The first 20% of this book was pretty good. There were some issues with the writing but I don't really care about that, as long as the story is able to keep my interest. Like I said, I was interested at first but it was really hard to connect with the FMC, Thea, because she wasn't a very likeable person (my last straw was when she started criticizing dark romance readers. It was giving "pick me" vibes). Aside from her, we had two male interests, Aaron and Aiden. I couldn't stand Aaron but Aiden was a little bit more likeable. I am a huge fan of love triangles but for some reason, seeing the FMC teasing both characters rubbed me the wrong way and I saw myself feeling uncomfortable in a lot of scenes (specially the steamy ones between her and the MMC's, like the office sex scenes between Aaron and Thea)

Another thing that I didn't liked was how the topic of "mental health" was handled in this book. I don't want to say much but the way the FMC said that she was going to *kill herself* if she didn't achieve her dream of becoming a writer in 5 years ... I am sorry, what? Please check trigger warning before reading this one. I didn't liked how this whole situation was handled and I wished the author would've provided helpful options for the FMC, like serious therapy.

Despite these aspects, I did liked the pacing of the story and I liked how Thea was always sure of her ideas and wasn't afraid of giving her opinion. I also liked the plot and how original it was because books these days are very similar and this one was very unique. This was a very frustrating book but it wasn't a bad book. I am sure it will work for some people but I wasn't a big fan of it. I also feel like this book could've been a 100 pages shorter.

Reverse grumpy sunshine? Absolutely.

I had so much fun with this. I always love reverse grumpy sunshine tropes because I feel like the strong and broody male protagonist is done too often and I just love myself a grumpy woman.

Thea was such an ideal main character. She was strong and opinionated and she is the type of person I strive to be when it comes to standing my ground and letting my voice be heard.

This is the first book from this author that I’ve read and I think this definitely won’t be the last.

Thank you to Ellie Owen for providing me with an ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Take my review with a grain of salt, because I don't typically read romance with spice.

This author personally reached out to me in exchange for an honest review. I've sat down with my thoughts and notes, so here we begin.

"𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭.”

A billionaire romance called Ellipsis by Ellie Owen follows writer Thea Scriven and fantasy editor Adrian Friedman.

I knew Aaron was hot asf and that Thea and him had amazing chemistry right away. Adrian was next introduced, and he certainly made a great impression, especially in light of the $1,000 tip he had left for Thea after she joked about it and how fixated he was on her.

Aiden and Thea definitely had their chemistry, so that wasn't missing. As for Thea, I admired the way she occasionally stood her ground.

The author did not know how to use "you're" in a sentence, hence I did feel that this book might have used some editing, but besides that, the writing was amazing. Also, although this may just be a personal preference, I did not appreciate how similar the names of the male interests were, as I would occasionally get confused. Additionally, Thea kept teasing and stringing Aaron along despite being well aware that she was falling for Aiden, which I did not like. The author's continual criticism of dark romance readers and the genre in general was what really put me off guard.

Overall, the book was not for me, despite the sweet moments between Thea and Aiden and the steamy scenes between Thea and Aaron.

I kindly received a copy of this book from the author, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I have really mixed feelings about this book, so strap in because this review is about to be LONG.

Starting off with what I liked:
The writing, for the most part, flowed really well. There was great use of vocabulary which I appreciated.

The plot is really original. I find a lot of books in the romance genre are very generic, but this was refreshingly original, something I think is really hard to achieve these days.

It discusses serious topics regarding the publishing industry. While I do wish this had been addressed with a little more subtlety, I appreciate the author shining a light on the growing problem of abusive relationships depicted in romance, and how the publishing industry often focuses more on a name than the quality of work.

The cover. I've always loved simple covers, especially ones with pastels but the author posted about the deeper meaning behind it and I love that there was so much thought that went into it's design.

It was nicely paced. I never really found myself bored, or that the writing was lingering too long on a scene.

Now onto what I didn’t like:
In the same vein as my very first point in the 'things I liked' category, there were also a few paragraphs that had the same word repeated too many times that made it seem clunky. An example of this:
"Aaron leisurely kisses her ankles, moving down her thighs, grinning when Thea tugs on his hair, pushing him down between her legs. Obliging only partially to her request, Aaron kisses her inner thighs while his fingers are a ghost of touch against her long legs."

The most frustrating thing for me BY FAR was how mental health was dealt with in this book - aka very poorly. The whole premise is that Thea has given herself 5 years to achieve her dream of becoming a writer, and if she still hasn't completed it in that time, she will commit suicide. This would indicate a serious case of depression, yet there were never any symptoms that she displayed. Not that everyone with depression follows a set criteria, but we were literally inside her head for most of the book and there was never anything to hint at it, aside from the obvious, which made her come across as... whiny? Sulky? "If I can't have this then I'm going to kill myself" meanwhile she has millionaires and billionaires throwing themselves at her. I get her wanting to achieve it on her own, but Adrian literally works at a publishing company, and she's spent the whole book lamenting about the unfairness of the publishing industry, so why should she not take a leg up when offered? Speaking of Adrian, god his reaction to the whole thing made me want to rip my hair out. His reaction to her saying she was literally planning on killing herself in a few months was "don't worry, someone will publish your book :)" and not like... making her get therapy?? Ridiculous.

I didn't like Thea's character. She had a few moments where it was cool to see her sticking up for herself and being confident, but that quickly bridged into cocky territory. She was supposed to be this 'bad bitch' archetype, but often came off rude and unlikeable. One instance is when she remarks over how a lady's silk gown was "far too vibrant for a place so muted in colours". The authors intention was likely to establish that the character was bad (which she was), but came across as Thea being overly judgy, because the lady hadn't even said or done anything at that point. Her characterisation strayed from “can stick up for herself” into “I’m not like other girls” territory. She still seems to be performing for the male gaze with all her “she pranced, she glided” etc. Not to mention, every male Thea interacts with (bar her own brother) seems to be instantly obsessed with her.

I tend to offer a bit more leeway for self published books in terms of errors, but there was an editor credited at the beginning of this one so I sort of expected a little more. Even when I wasn't reading to edit, I came across so many mistakes. Some recurring ones: the author only used the singular form when referring to underwear. Words like 'panties' and 'briefs' were written as 'panty' and 'brief'. It's like the word 'pants' - it always takes the plural form. Another is that the pov would change completely at random from paragraph to paragraph which made it difficult to keep up with who was thinking what.

Insta love is one of my least favourite tropes out there, and that was definitely the relationship between Adrian and Thea. I need pining and what I got was a love confession after a month, if that, (despite Thea still hooking up with Aaron for the majority of that time), and a whole lot of sex. Which leads me to my next point.

Repetitive sex scenes. Adrian and Aaron were quite different characters I found, but in the bedroom, they were almost identical. I started tabbing the sex scenes right from the beginning, purely out of curiosity and I ended up with 15 tabs (so 15 sex scenes). At the end I just started skimming them because they didn't really offer anything new or any progression of the relationship.

Adrian was an out of touch billionaire but was not described as such. If someone has so much disposable income that he can wire a girl he'd just met hundreds of thousands of dollars just to talk to her, he is not using his (parents') money for the right things. He would also say stuff about how "we're all whoring ourself out under capitalism" which just completely missed the mark because like... he's obviously not. Later on Thea also became an out of touch rich person, where she tried to claim superiority for not taking a large sum of money in exchange for compromising her morals, but she has a billionaire boyfriend, of course she doesn't care that much about money. Then she said she paid for everything herself and wasn't taking his money but, as we've just talked about, he was transferring her huge sums of money on the daily.

Thea's relationship with Aaron made me cringe, because he is her boss and they were both so unprofessional. They snuck away - during a shift - to go have sex in his office, leaving the other workers to cover the tables. Aaron would also come up and stake his claim over Thea in front of customers. Just weird, but it was never treated as such.

Adrian was way too touchy as a stranger. He'd put his arm around her, touch her hair etc. when they had only just met, but it was fine because he's the future love interest.

Finally, safe sex was not practiced even once. Thea had an IUD, but Adrian also talked in depth about the many STD's he had contracted and hadn't seemed to learn from his mistakes at all. So so frustrating.

Overall, I think this book wasn't for me. Romance isn't exactly my genre of choice, but the author reached out to me when I said one of my least favourite books of all time was twisted love, which I felt depicted a deeply toxic relationship. I appreciate what she tried to do by switching the power dynamics and reversing the typical grumpy x sunshine trope, but it just didn't work for me. While I don't think it was a bad book, I think I became frustrated with some things early on, and that made me overly critical of other things as the book went on and I couldn't take it seriously. I hope my criticisms can be taken constructively and I think with more editing and touch ups regarding some of the things I mentioned above, this book could be elevated to another level.

This book was so special, not only did it have a certain depth and made the reader re think all the actions from the main character , but it also brought reality very close to the reader and did not romanticize it.

Life is not easy and you dont know what in the future is waiting for you. What more can I say than that this book was the perfect mix of smutty scenes, a realistic love story and a beautiful character development of the main character.

If you are looking for a book that will also make you rethink actions and points of view, please read this book.

P.S another big plus point were the tropes: billionaire romance & editor x romance writer

“I carved a space in your heart, yet he earned the love i fought so hard to gain”

Ellie Owen poured her whole heart and soul into this🤧🤧 I can really feel it.
There are so many things to say about this book, the ups and the downs. But the main thing I want to say is I believe everyone should read it.
Because it’s meant to be read.

If there would be one way for to explain this book, it would be a mix of modern story telling with the classics, but make it much smuttier😹

I feel the need to say if I don’t have myself a billionaire man who sends me $1000 just to send me a text message. Then let me make it clear…I don’t want him.

4.5/5

Took me a bit longer to finish bc someone spoiled it for me :')

Everyone complains about the amount of sex that Thea has in the book, but .. it's for a reason. It's how she validates her worthiness. Between Aaron and Adrian, a part of me hated how Thea treated Aaron.

The author shared how she is planning out several books from the side characters of Ellipsis which I'm very excited for.

The cover is brilliant, beautiful and so simple.

I stand on the hill that Thea should've died because fuck a HEA. but it was an overall beautiful story.

Solid 3.5/5
I actually really enjoyed the plot of this book. Recently I’ve felt like I’m reading a new version of the same book over and over again and ellipsis def wasn’t that. It was new and def a bit risky which I liked.
I don’t know much about the publishing industry and how it works but I think the way Ellie Owen incorporates call outs within the book def brought my attention to the questionable way the industry operates. In their conversation Adrian and Thea brought up how everyone is so quick to identity and attack Misogyny in books written by men but when the same thing, or maybe even worse, is written by a woman readers fail to make the comparison. Misogyny isn’t just perpetuated by men in books, but also women who have wide audiences who in turn internalize internalize those messages.
I also appreciated that it was very clearly THEA’S story. Sometimes romance books have this thing where they stop focusing on the main character and instead worry abt the lives of the love interest or something like that. This book didn’t do it, it remained Thea’s narrative to the end.
I loved the characters. Being completely honest oftentimes I don’t take much of a liking to suicidal characters because I feel like they’re rarely written well but this definite was the rare case. Thea thoroughly explained why she felt the need to consider suicide as a measure and I was even able to relate to some of the points she was making. Her motives were elaborated well and she had a strong, blunt personality which I also loved. When Aaron spoke to her rudely she didn’t hesitate to call him out on it and I admire how she consistently stuck to her morals instead of just accepting what the me around her were saying.
Adrian’s personality is just so cute and lovable I don’t think I need to elaborate much.
Even though I didn’t like Aaron by the end I still think he was written well. The way he lashed out at her was written in a way I felt was very “in character” for him given the circumstances even though he was a great guy to Thea beforehand.

Some things I didn’t like so much:
the repetitive nature of the sex scenes threw me off a bit. Even between Aaron and Adrian it seemed extremely similar each time. Lines felt recycled, especially like the “make me” and “if I am?” thing.
I felt like the book left a bit unresolved when it came to Aaron and Thea. The fact that they suddenly made up and we’re back to making jokes was just thrown in when there was no signifier that they were really even considering being friends again. It felt anticlimactic when Thea told julien what Aaron said to her and exposing that they were in a physical relationship. The whole beginning of the book both of them were too scared to over admit their relationship to Jules but then by the epilogue it seemed like there was never any conflict between Aaron and Jules. That also surprised me given the way Jules was characterized to be very protective of his sister.
Adrian and Thea’s relationship felt like insta-love. I know they both address it themselves in the book that their relationship felt extremely fast so it’s more just my dislike of the trope rather than a real criticism of the book.
I liked the third person but the way the POV flipped back and forth between Adrian and Thea within the same scene was confusing to follow. I had to reread some parts multiple times because I got lost trying to figure out who’s head I was in.

Overall I really liked the message the book had, it stuck w me and that’s the main thing I want in a book. It was an addicting read once I got a few chapters in and I look forward to reading what Ellie Owen puts out next!

I found this author & book via Instagram. The app recommended her post to me, and I'm pretty excited that I found her. ☺️

I took my time reading this story, I feel like it deserved the extra time. It is such a beautiful love story between Thea & Adrian, but more importantly, it's a love story between Thea & herself.
Thea had a traumatic incident when she was a teenager. Her best friend was murdered by an alpha possessive boyfriend, and she feels guilty. She has sworn that she will write romance novels that don't turn the woman into a possession, an object, but rather she will right romance where the FMC embodies strength & self awareness.
Thea has a hard time finding an agent, an editor, anyone who will take the chance on her. She becomes rather emotionally destraught and nearly commits suicide.

It's at this point where she gives herself a second chance but on a timeline.

We have a mild lust/love triangle near the beginning. Thea is best friends and works for a man named Aaron. This man is her brothers best friend and truly supports Thea's dreams to be a published writer. They sleep together, they work together, they hang out together, and he reads her chapters. I truly feel that Aaron is instrumental at keeping Thea from giving up sooner than her predetermined timeline.

While working, Thea meets Adrian, a trust fund billionaire who gives her a $2,000 tip after she verbally berates the mans work associate at the table for being a douche. Honestly, that guy deserved it. At some point, we learn that he is an editor, and that's when their journey begins.

The love between Thea & Adrian is so strong, gentle, and something to aspire for. Nothing possessive, alpha, toxic, etc. Ellie wrote Adrian to be the perfect embodiment of healthy & well rounded. Is he perfect? Nope.

I recommend this book to all romance readers

I started this book and got about 70% of the way through it in a few hours and I liked it enough. It was very spicy which was nice but I did feel like some of the dialogue during these spots were interesting.

The way the main character talks about suicide made me uncomfortable the entire time because I felt like she used it as an excuse to not let people in or deal with her problems. She definitely needs therapy regardless.

Thea is trying to become an author and has tried countless times to get an agent and has received hundreds of rejections which led her to giving herself five years. If after five years she doesn’t get a book deal she wants to end her life. At the time, she is with Aaron who doesn’t know about this promise she made to herself. She essentially has a relationship without the title with him throughout until she meets Adrian.

Thea tells Adrian that if she gets with him it’s not cheating because she’s not technically with Aaron (they aren’t bc/gf) but I do feel like she had an agreement with Aaron that they weren’t seeing other people (which they specifically mention). She never truly has a conversation with Aaron until she stands him up for a meeting and he confronts her which I found was icky.

The author’s /Thea’s opinion on other books being mediocre compared to hers felt very pretentious especially when talking about dark romance and the dangers with it. She trauma dumps on an editor trying to acquire her book about how much she hates dark romance and how it led to the death of her friend.

The last 20% of the book I skimmed through especially during the sex scene where Thea had told Adrian she was pregnant bc it was cringey. The book was way too long I wish it was less than 400 pages.

This book was like a breath of fresh air, as in VERY fresh. It was so unique with the amazing writing style and it's characters! It was very different, that's for sure, and I loved how it touched so many different topics and created so many different ideas in my head about the whole writing world. It definitely is a romance book but it just explored very unique themes and I very much enjoyed it!

Thea was such a complex character and I loved how different she was from other fmc's I've read about and gosh I loved that sharp tongue of hers, it made the while book so entertaining! It was the way she saw the world and how she explained things from her pov that actually had me invested. It definitely was very unique and I loved her take on the world and people. I actually really liked Aaron and her together but like Aaron himself said she was different around Adrien. The whole thing between the three had me very stressed (I loathe love triangles) but i think in the end it was about how Thea and Adrian fit together seamlessly and how both of them were literally made for each other.
I loved how Adrian and Thea met and how it escalated 🤭 gosh we all need a tust fund baby like Adrian who would wire us money to talk to us. I loved this man, he was amazing and I loved how he used his words so smoothly. His way of explaining things to Thea and also his treatment towards her had me grinning so hard. Also stop the way he got so infatuated with her from the first glance abd him serving us all rhe golden retriever vibes had me melting into a puddle!

This book gave me many things to think through and i don't know how to say it but my brain feels like mush, in the best way possible.

🌶️3.5/5

First off, I’d like to say thank you to Ellie Owen for sending me a copy of her book to review!!

It’s obvious Ellie is going to make an amazing author! She really poured so much love into this book and her characters and I thought this was a good debut novel!!

I really liked how feisty the FMC was and her ability to always stand up for herself!! I enjoyed the chemistry between her and the MMCs

I really liked Adrian’s character, he was so supportive of Thea and a bit of a golden retriever

I liked how the publishing industry was represented! It really highlighted a different perspective on the difficulties that authors face when it comes to self-publishing and traditional publishing! I also thought the plot itself was really original!

The only things I felt knocked this book down was that a few bits need further editing, exploration of certain themes and I wasn’t a massive fan of Aaron. However, I do think for a debut novel Ellie has done so well!

(Admittedly, I would love a billionaire to send me $1,000 every time he wanted to talk to me)

if it looks like my copy of ellipsis survived a hurricane, it’s because it did survive a hurricane- one made of my tears.

ellipsis was one of my most highly anticipated reads & owen did not disappoint. she gave me everything i needed in a love story: some drama, angst, sadness, banter, hardships, & the sweetest characters.

the plot moved at a pace where you were able to connect with the characters and get to know them as if you were a part of the novel itself. i loved seeing myself in thea & seeing her dilemmas definitely had my heart in a twist i just wanted to wrap her in a hug and put her in my pocket 😭🥹

i also loved the subtle hints that owen provided on misogny in the publishing business and mental health, and even the reading intellect throughout the world. i think it was so cool, interesting, & unique as to how she was able to bring such important topics to light in a romance novel and make it meaningful.

adrian friedman, please come to life. one of the most wholesome, green-flag mms i have ever encountered in a romance book.

ellipsis has literally everything you could ever need in a romance novel and its one of those that quickly become a comfort read. i adore the author & this book so please read it!! 😁💕

This book was such an original, unique story. One that I do think about often. Describing it is a little hard but Dania put it perfectly it's like a classic with smut 😂

I found the concept of the storyline so different to your usual romance but it felt refreshing in a way. Don't get me wrong, I really loved the romance between Thea and Adrian — I thought they worked so well and really complimented each other — but I also loved that we focused a lot on Thea and her life, struggles, flaws and feelings. She felt so real and relatable to me, which just made me love reading this even more.

Adrian was the sweetest guy and I loved how much he adored Thea 🥹 he was so supportive and caring towards her every step of the way and I completely fell in love 🫶🏼

I really felt the emotions and so much of it hit deeper than I was expecting. You can absolutely tell that Ellie put her heart and soul into this book and it's a fab debut. (Also how beautiful is this cover? 🥹🤍)

Would definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for something slightly different in a romance. Thank you Ellie for this arc.

First, I would like to thank the author for sending me an e-book of #Ellipsis in exchange for my honest review.

If you are into these troops you are lucky:
Billionaire Romance
Smutty Sex
Brother's Best Friend
Reverse Grumpy X Sunshine
Coz you will love it.

This is the story of Thea Scriven who dream of being a published writer someday but alas all her works have been denied and there is no luck for the horizon. She is depressed and has Suicidal thoughts and made promise to herself if she didn't publishe any book she will jump over Brooklyn Bridge.
On the other side, she works as a waitress in a restaurant and she has a relationship with her boss Aaron she loves him but refuses to go steady and on day a sexy man comes into the picture called Adrian and flips her world outside down leaving her torn between him and Aaron but maybe he is the key to everything she dreamt about.

So if you enjoy these kind of stories I encourage you to pick it up.

I simply had no idea what was going on the entire time. The beginning of the story has absolutely no momentum, which is weird considering she's only got 6 months before she plans to kill herself (?????)
The concept was there but it needs build up. If you're going to write about suicidal ideation, you need to make the reader feel the main character's despair, angst, and hopelessness. The woe is me mentality is more aggravating than relatable. I spent the entire time wondering why she's going to kill herself when she seems more preoccupied with fucking these men than working on her fucking writing. Thea is extremely unlikable and a walking red flag. She's portrayed as a slob instead of someone severely depressed. The sex scenes are oddly placed with no tension or charged energy. I simply cannot fathom why two men would be in love with her. Why, just why.

I automatically knew within the first few chapters that this author was paralleling the FMC to herself on such a deep level I normally get uncomfortable when i can sense such things but it worked. The MCs were great. The FMC Thea was a spitfire who had such a fierce love for her dreams. I loved watching her view of herself/life change. Chemistry with MMC was off the charts! I thought this character was so kind, thoughtful and straight up yearning for her the whole time. It was a great portrayal of love and how its truest form is so freeing!
Ellie I am rooting for you! I hope you can feel that even though you might not reach everyone you imagined you would, you are reaching the ones who needed you, the ones meant to. This was the first book Ive ever read the acknowledgments and I cried reading it.

DNF’d at 50% because I’ve spent the last 50% being very confused about what was happening. I’m intrigued but I don’t think for the right reasons because mostly I’ve spent the entire book going “but what’s happening and what’s the point?”
I found Thea to be trying so hard to be extra. It read like something that an 18 year old would find edgy and original, and I felt a lot of second hand embarrassment by her actions.
Only redeemable character is Adrian but even he couldn’t keep me going. Soz but this is a pass for me.

Fun

Great story, lots of fun, kinda sexy. In desperate need of a proofread, particularly annoying considering I read the special edition with additional material. The book has been around long enough to have been corrected by now.

you can tell ellie poured her heart and soul into this book and that’s when you know that it’s going to be a good book.
I love thea’s character so much because I can relate to the whole, giving myself a timeline/ ultimatums to do some thing thinking that that’s going to really make things happen when actually you’re just pushing yourself harder than you deserved to be pushed in the moment when you needed help instead.

I was on team Adrian not gonna lie…..

First review: I was not given a copy of this book. Everything written below is because I love this book and everyone needs to know that. This post might contain minor spoilers.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. I haven’t been taken on such a whirlwind of feelings since DEG’s When We Were. (WWW and Ellipsis have similar vibes so you should definitely check out both).

The characters were phenomenal. I absolutely love our main girl, Thea. She is determined to reach her dreams at any cost. She doesn’t change herself to fit a guy and stays true to her beliefs. This girl has two (2!!!) guys fawning after her and she’s walking them like dogs. Icon to the extreme.

Speaking of the leading men, I would gladly take Aaron or Adrian. The latter is the actual love of my life but if it comes down to it Aaron isn’t bad either.

Aaron is the brother’s best friend and Thea’s boss. He’s supportive of her dreams and knows how to use his mouth (in a couple different ways). Oh and he’s rich which is always a bonus. Plus he calls her “love” so he should get bonus points for that.

Adrian is a random patron at the restaurant/bar Thea works at and seriously the love of my life. He has a cute nickname for her and is also supportive of her dreams, despite not knowing her as long as Aaron. He’s also rich and also knows what he’s doing with his mouth. This man is so amazing. I just love him so much.

The plot was great. I won’t say too much on it because I don’t want to spoil anything major, but I think the pacing is good and natural.

I annotated half the lines because there are just that many good lines. Between loveable Adrian, loveable Aaron, and girlboss Thea, you will find a lot of beautiful sentences/paragraphs.

If that still hasn’t convinced you, there is a cute cat.

All in all, I really recommend this book. As with any other book, please check trigger warnings. Other than that HEAD TO AMAZON AND GET YOUR COPY NOW. Thanks!

Second review:
I reread this book for the first time and Y'ALL it's even better than I remembered. I really do think I waited the perfect amount of time because I remember the basic plot and a lot of scenes but I forgot just how many emotions I feel when reading.

Rereading this book is like coming home after a long vacation. It's walking inside your warm house on a cold day, snuggling with your dog, eating that first bite of your favorite meal. I don't reread books often, but I want to now after rereading Ellipsis.

The romance still hits me right in the heart. I still had to scream into pillows and pace around the room to deal with my emotions. Ellie is still getting all caps messages from me on Instagram. I really just want to make everyone read this book.

To summarize, rereading this book is one of the best decisions I've ever made, and everyone should read this book. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

Ellipsis- arc review
☆☆☆☆☆
I wanted to start by thanking Ellie for being so kind with everything.
And then I wanted to say that this book is by far one of mu favorite books EVER.
This book follows Thea, an author that is struggling to find a deal for her book, but then she meets Adrian, a billionaire that is definitely not in the mood to give up on her. (Btw, is a reverse grumpy x sunshine)
I think that what made me love this book so much was the fact that it showed us the real struggle of being an author and didn't romanticize it. Life is not easy and you never know what awaits you, so if you are looking for a book to make you rethink all of your actions, this is the book.
The love story between the characters, UGH I can't describe it how much I loved these two!!!
The characters were amazing and well developed and Thea is the definition of the woman that I wanna be.
The writing was amazing and the book had a really good pace, you won't even notice!
All in all, I would definitely recommend this book because wow wow wow

Tropes:
📖 Billionaire romance
📖 Reverse grumpy x sunshine
📖 Love triangle
📖 Editor x romance writer
📖 He falls first (and he falls harder)
📖 Brother's best friend
