"Another wonderful book with great story and characters." Amazon reviewer
High in the mountains of southeastern Brazil a killer lurks.
An old friend calls.
She’s getting death threats.
Once again PI Miranda Steele feels the call of her destiny.
When she and Parker get to Brazil and discover grisly human remains near a mountain resort, she knows those threats are very real. A lot of people would like to get their hands on their client's valuable property.
But which one is the killer?
Once more Parker’s personal losses make him hesitate to involve Miranda in the case, causing nothing but friction.
He needs to get over it fast.
The killer is on the attack.
If they can’t figure out who is sending those letters soon, they both might end up dead.
You’ll want to read this fast-paced mystery-thriller, because it’s full of twists and chills.

Miranda and Parker are off on another adventure. When an old friend of Parker's calls and says she needs help, the couple heads for South America. Tia owns a resort there and has been getting death threats. Then a dead body is discovered on one of the trails. It's clear there's a killer out there wanting to do Tia harm and once again Miranda throws herself in the thick of things. Parker wants the case solved as well but he's also bent on keeping Miranda safe. Unfortunately, fate often has other plans.
This was a bit of a change up as far as locale and I really enjoyed it. The only thing I questioned was the lack of Parker's involvement in this one. It seemed like Miranda was more the focal point this time. There wasn't that special spark to their relationship like in previous stories where they worked closely as a team.
I had a!ready read this but I'm reading them again because they're so good No matter how many times I've read them they're still suspenseful . I'm reading them slower this time because I read them so fast the first time. Miranda makes me mad that she'd broken her promise. Wade has been nothing but supportive and freely given her love, comfort and protection even though she doesn't want him to do that.
Miranda and Parker always find interesting cases to peruse. This one takes place in Brazil where Parker has an old friend in need of help. This story was a bit slow but the characters are still interesting.
So far I have read all the previous books and I have not gotten bored. This is a good series and for the most part could be read as stand alone. Beware you will get hooked!
Again, the well woven plot twists keep the reader on the edge of their seats ! Good characters, and the convoluted path to find the bad guy in the last ten pages are crazy but I love it!!! Go Parker & Miranda!! PS::: You need a proofreader!! I am available!!! Seriously!!?
Couldn’t put this down and read it in two days. I have read books one to four in a week. They keep you thinking all the way through and there are so many twists and turns throughout that I have yet to work out the culprit myself. Highly recommend it. Now off to start book 5.
This series is the best I have read in a long time. The mystery and the suspense is fantastic. Each book in this series gets better if that's possible. These books keep you in suspense until the very end . This series is a must read
Miranda and Parker are at it again. I so enjoy reading Lindsey’s books. It’s refreshing to have love scenes that leave stuff to the imagination of the reader as well as mushers that you think you have solved but didn’t well on to the next one.
This story was really scary. Too many things going wrong.....really dangerous. The storyline was fast-moving, kept you on the edge of your seat. The many characters were amazing. Looking forward to reading Book 5.
As always another great 👍read I would recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries. They keep you in suspense to the end.She gets in more trouble than anyone I can think of 😀😱 always Parker👑to the rescue!!👍 Twenty as always following LL
How can she develop such intricate and intense plots that are in such different settings with such different details and still deliver the goods? And it's clambered, not clamored. A bit of true grammarian editing is needed.
I can't put down these books. Miranda and Wade solve another mystery. Wade discovers messages on Miranda's phone that she has been hiding from him. Can't wait to read more and find out what's going on. Thank you Linsey Lanier for another great read.
Another great book in this series about The Parkers. This one is about a close family friend in Brazil who needs their help immediately. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Another great read. Couldn't put it down. Characters were in place and had the team guessing. Seemed like every avenue was blocked. But, the team comes through.
