"I can hardly wait to hear this one scream."

Three weeks ago Miranda and Parker had a gut wrenching fight.

Miranda struck out on her own, ready to prove she’s an investigator in her own right.

Problem is...she has no clients.

So when a scary dude from her past walks through the door and wants to hire her to find a missing exotic dancer, she's forced to take the case.

Meanwhile Parker is done with Miranda and the pain she put him through.

But if he can find whoever sent those threatening texts on her cell phone, he can prove he was right about her disregard of danger.

Little do they know they're both in danger.

And about to face the most terrifying killer of their lives.

This time, they might not come out alive.

Miranda and Parker save the day!

I love this couple and hated to see them part, even for an instant. So when they fought and Miranda left Parker I wanted to smack both of them. "You were meant to be together!" I wanted to scream. Oh, I knew they would eventually find their way back to one another but first they needed some time apart. Time to breathe, time to reflect on things that happened, specifically the issues that tore them apart. Meanwhile, Miranda takes her first solo case. Santiago is not a nice man. A member of the criminal underworld, he comes to Miranda, asking her to find one of his dancers from one of his clubs. The woman has suddenly disappeared and he's very concerned. Although Miranda had doubts about working with Santiago, he's offering her a pretty dim of money that she could really use at the moment

This is where the fun begins. You never know what Miranda is going to do or why. As she begins to ask questions, however, it quickly becomes obvious someone doesn't want her finding out the truth. Pretty soon she is fully involved in the case. Little does she know Parker is doing his own investigating, trying to find out who has been sending Miranda threatening text messages and his efforts are going to throw him directly into Miranda 's lap. Can the two of them work together again? That remains to be seen. Then Parker's daughter is kidnapped by the killer they've been searching for and all bets are off. They once again combine their working skills to bring Gen home. They just hope she's still alive when they find her.

Keeps you guessing until the end! An outstanding mystery!

SOOILER ALERT: Do not read this review ............While a terrific story, the premise that Wade and Miranda could break up instantly, on their anniversary and both simply walk away is preposterous! After reading 12 of their adventures and experiencing their megawatt love affair, the premise to too absurd to consider! Linsey is a great writer and I think she was deceived by her editors and beta readers!
This whole excellent manuscript is tainted throughout this book!
I love the characters and the series so I gave it a generous 4 stars. This one could have been so much better with a reasonable breakup complete with attempted reconciliations!
Well, I will be reading the next book in the series and anticipate reading many more! This series is just to good to give up after just a single disappointment! Keep them coming Linsey!

Miranda goes it alone

As usual I finished one in the series of Miranda and Parker mysteries and popped the next one up on my Kindle. I sometimes try to talk myself into reading something from another genre, but I always give into my need to find out what happens next. This hasn't been my favorite one. The romantic in me wants the two of them together. And I'll leave it at that. Read the book to find out what happens there. I do have one " unscientific " question to ask and hope that it doesn't give away too much. If a room is lined with material to make it soundproof, wouldn't that mean that someone outside the building would not be able to eavesdrop electronically on conversations in the room? If so, there's a big glitch in the plot. Just sayin'.

Love this series

Great story. It takes a very good writer to be able to weave an underlining story through 12 books and still keep the book interesting and filled with intrigue. Lanier,s books are fast reads because the reader can not put the books down. Highly recommend Linsey Lanier! Thank you and I am glad I stumbled on the first book and was able to read them in sequence.

Bone to pick...

I love all of these books. My reason for the loss of the fifth star was that if I could figure out the "bad guy" in the last book in the series when I was only halfway through it...then why couldn't the smart detectives figure it out? I felt that 6 and 7 could've been put into one book instead of padding it into two separate books.

I'm disappointed. I read the first 6 books & some of your other books & l couldn't wait to read more. I felt Miranda & Parker acted like spoiled teenagers in books 7 & 8. I'm going to read 9 now; but I feel like I wasted my time

Parker acted like spoiled teenagers in books 7 and 8. I'm still going to read the rest of the series. These 2 didn't keep my attention.

A gripping read

Miranda and Wade are at it again. This one kept me hooked from the beginning to the very end. And for them to get back together made me very happy. As always, the case is solved, Wade's daughter Gen is saved. Can't wait to read the next book. Linsey Lanier did it again.

Evil Monster Finally Eliminated

This story was pretty horrific. The storyline was intense and the many characters were great with the exception of the evil monster, Adam Tannenburg. I'm glad he is no more!

A Screamer

At last our author brings together the pieces she's given us hints about for the past several books.
And I discovered the name of the editor who needs to do some additional editing.
Despite grammatical errors, these are some amazingly good books.

This was another great story about Miranda and Parker and how they work better together than apart when it comes to finding murderers. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
