My alpha will do anything to protect me. But he doesn’t know how far I’ll go to save us…
War has been declared on the shifter race, and my fated mate and I aren’t the only ones in shock. The news broadcasts are filled with outrage. Shifter activists are already protesting.
Our only choice is to go to war and to start training for the battle that is coming. We know that if we can find and destroy our enemy Viola, her army will soon falter and fail.
But in all the chaos, we missed the signs.
When our desperate attempts to locate Viola go horribly wrong, I become a target, and Nico forbids me to fight.
Except there’s something powerful inside me, clawing to get out. And I don’t know how much longer I can hold my protective mama wolf back…

The suspense of the story nearly killed me. I kept wanting to skip to the end! Roxie Ray is a phenomenal writer and I enjoyed this whole series immensely.
3.5⭐️ This book gives you closure from the series.
I still think this series has fantastic elements, and I truly enjoyed reading it. Some things were missing. For example, I get the tension between Sebastian and Abi. They had one hook-up, and one day Sabastian made a horrible mistake. However, where was the rest of their story? There wasn't any other interaction that wasn't at a distance. How can they have the ending they had???🤷🏻♀️
Sinthy and Max was a great storyline and addition to the mix. The first two books talk about a powerful great witch, yet there is no interaction with modern-day witches until the middle of book two.
Viola is a villain you can not help hating. Power crazed and unreasonable.
The series begins with a woman who finds herself under attack by shifters, and she has no idea why. Fortunately, she is rescued by other shifters, one of whom appears to be her fated mate. She learns there is far more to her than anyone ever thought.
As she enters an entirely new world, the story is rich in tension as she navigates her identity and her newfound status within this society. Emotions run high as the characters confront their circumstances, dealing with conflicting feelings of fear, hope, and longing. The presence of strong alpha males adds another layer of complexity to the tale. Now there is a war on the horizon the Royals need to be taken out.
Amidst these challenges, there is also an undercurrent of playful interactions. Overall, it’s an interesting blend of love, action, and adventure that keeps you engaged from beginning to end.
I’m not sure if there is something after this, but this was a pretty good conclusion to the story.
Again, there was the background story confusion between Maddie, Gabby and the adoptive parents. Still don’t understand how they had a crate of letters in the closet (where did they come from), a box full of prescriptions for suppressants under the sink, signed by Gabby’s alias, and all of that when they said they had only received a call years after the adoption from Kenneth (who they weren’t supposed to know his name, according to what they told Maddie and Nico over the phone when it all came out) that Maddie would need to take the suppressants. I think there was a disconnect when the backstory was being thought out and put together and caused some discrepancies.
Then in this one in particular, there were a lot of dumb decisions, especially from Maddie, like when she left to a phone call of her house being on fire and the “cop” saying the neighbors thought she should be called to possibly salvage some of her things. That little tidbit should have given her pause because they should have called her regardless of what a neighbor thought, but she rushed out anyway. If it was already on fire, what was her rushing over there going to do? Make them put out the fire faster? Make the fire Marshall deem it safe to enter faster?? But whatever, she made a lot of dumb decisions.
But, Nico did as well. They had video footage evidence and didn’t think to expose it, neither did Luis. Nico had seen a vision of a witch ritual strengthening the connection to and protection of his land using the alpha’s blood, he didn’t tell Sinthy so they could try that.
Then there was the discrepancy of the ward protecting the clan. How is it that Isme and Sinthy’s home could be protected and cloaked while both Isme and Sinthy were away from the home, but the pack lands couldn’t be if Sinthy was away?
Then the biggest was that there was the mention of condoms in this one that hadn’t been mentioned or implied in ANY of the previous books! That crap blow my mind at how it was suddenly added in for this particular event in the story to unfold! Despite their numerous talks about having kids in the future when all the danger had passed, no mention of protection was brought forth, but suddenly, bam! “Did we use a condom that one time?” 🤣🤣 So you already know what that means!
Anyway, this was a good story, there was a bit of dragging in this one and you can clearly tell where it stalls as a lot of nonsense if being discussed and the storyline isn’t moving along. But I still recommend this book.
See my notes, highlights and commentary on Goodreads. Happy reading!
Whew - what a series. I loved it, but I am glad it's finally over. First off, HOW DARE Sebastian say he's in love with Abi like that. After what he did to her! Honestly, when did he fall in love with her? After she got taken - while she was being held captive? Or was it when she was rescued and she actively spent her time ignoring him, avoiding him, and hurting him? I mean it obviously was before because he said 'who she is not is not the girl he fell for' But I'm really curious - and pissed off - when it happened because he was off screwing another chick (one of many might I add) when she got taken. So he obviously didn't love her then. UUUGH. When he said that I literally yelled lol
They talked about doing things but then it got pushed back and never mentioned. Or they didn't do what should've been done to help their cause. Like Javi called needing a rescue and he said yeah to get ready but then all the stuff with the wards and them leaving for the island happened. When did Javi get transferred? They put a tracker on the boy and talked about being able to get Viola's location from it but when they had the chance - they ignored it. She literally called while she was with the boy - they knew for a fact he was with her at that time and they didn't track her. They could've got the located and scoped it out and got the upper hand. Instead they used it to kidnap him. Which okay it worked out in the end, but still.
It was like any time anything important needed to be done - it didn't get done right away. That story did get really intense though. I'm glad she didn't turn into a crazed werewolf. She did become a beast though. It was crazy how the government claimed to want this to come to and end but did nothing to help end it when the time came. They could've brought their forces and overpowered Viola and taken her and her army out- ending it without the war. Instead they sat back and let it come to a head waiting to see who would come out on top. It just sucks the government will never be held accountable for that.
This series was amazing. I am really glad I found it. I've already downloaded my next book by Roxie Ray and I'm super excited. She is my new favorite author.
I read the first 2 books and enjoyed them well enough. I will admit by tye end if the 2nd book the FMC started to get on my nerves. I feel the author didn't put as much effort into her interactions with the plot and characters. This book had her treating her mate has if he was a child. I felt he was emasculated from chapter one on. Could not get past some of the other unrealistic reactions or occurrences in this final book. Feels rushed by the author, sadly.
I really struggled to get into this book at the start. It was confusing and I couldn't understand what was going on. Then I discovered there were two previous books that i really needed to have read first to have all the pieces of the puzzle for this book. I didn't know that when i got this arc copy. Once i realized that and worked around the info I didn't have it made the book easier to read and understand. Then I really started to enjoy the story and found it entertaining, interesting, and able to hold my attention. The characters were well developed and well rounded. The place and pack dynamics were also well done, richly detailed and complete. I loved how all different types of shifters were included in this story line as well as those who were not shifters. The dynamics between the adoptive parents, Maddy the MC, and her bio mom were well done and thoughtful. I loved Sinthy and her determination, gumption, and spirit. Maddy was really stuck in a hard place trying to determine just what she should do to best protect her mate, her family and her new pack. I found Abi to be kind of spoiled and entitled somewhat but not having read the previous two books it was hard to know how and why her character was acting the way she was. Nico was trying to hard to protect everyone he cared about, plus others in the same position showing why he was the alpha. His strong character, grit and bravery helped save many lives and change the course of the fight. I loved the ending it seemed to tie up all the pieces nicely. This is a really good book but I think to truly get full enjoyment from it you need to read the first two books before reading this one so you are not confused
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and amvoluntarily leaving a review.
"Explosive Chemistry, Fierce Loyalty, and All the Feels — This Series Just Keeps Getting Better!"
Fated to the Alpha Defender is everything I hoped for in book three of the Fated to Royalty series — and so much more. Ra has a way of making every book feel even more intense, romantic, and high-stakes than the last, and this installment had me hooked from the very first page. I devoured it in one sitting and was left breathless by the end.
This book dives even deeper into the supernatural world she’s created, raising the stakes emotionally and politically. The pacing is fierce, the world-building is richer than ever, and the romance? Sizzling.
The dynamic between the Alpha Defender and his fated mate is everything. Their chemistry is off-the-charts, but what I really loved was the emotional depth — the push and pull, the vulnerability underneath the strength, and the way they challenge each other to grow. There's something so intoxicating about a protector who doesn’t just guard your body, but also your soul — and that’s exactly what Ra delivers here.
I also fell in love with the supporting cast all over again. Each character adds something essential, and you can feel the threads of destiny weaving tighter with every chapter. There’s danger, drama, tender moments, and so many gasp-worthy revelations — this book seriously delivers on every level.
This series is quickly becoming a personal favorite. With Fated to the Alpha Defender, Ra proves once again that she’s a queen of fated mate romance, supernatural tension, and alpha heat. If you’re not already obsessed with this world — what are you waiting for?
Highly, highly recommend. But fair warning: once you start this series, there’s no going back.
This is the final book in the *Fated To Royalty* series. It is NOT a standalone. Each book must be read in order!
After Viola sent out the message for all humans to attack shifters, Maddy and Nico knew they needed to take action. Even the President is saying that shifters are protected and Viola's followers don't care. The pack needs to get ready for war. How do you protect your family from getting hurt when you need to hide?
The bond that Nico and Maddy have is crazy to me. I can't believe how fast Maddy went into heat. When Sinthy said that Nico needed to spend some time with nature it made me feel sad since he hasn't been able to with everything else going on. Nico and Maddy are both so selfless. They just want to help everyone. I can tell Maddy's parents want to help but they don't understand her wolf side. Sinthy is wonder woman! Nico is still the absolute sweetest MMC I've ever read about. That ending was priceless.
I absolutely love that ending. It was exactly what I needed. I was happy, I cried and I was shocked all through this book. I'm so sad it's over. What a way to end a series.
Can't believe it took me this long to get to this series
This was a pretty fantastic ending to the series. Each book was great and seemed to get better as it went on. There are still a few little errors here and there, but not too many. It's definitely not enough for me to take away a whole star.
Even up into the final fight between the Royals and the shifters, it's unknown if Maddy is going to ingest the contents of the vial or not. They agreed that she would drink it only if it seemed there was absolutely NO other choice, but for all we know, she may destroy it. We can suspect one way or another, but we never know for sure until the moment happens.
Once again, Nico comes off as the best mate / boyfriend ever. He's so freaking sweet! It's crazy to think about how far both of them have come from the very first book.
I really enjoyed the ending of this series. Specifically, I want to point out that I really liked the little part that mentions the sheriff's office after the big fight. I know it's a small thing, but it made me a bit happy to see!
This book series could EASILY be the next hollyweird supernatural adventure production!!! It is that good!!! I couldn’t put it down while having free time and HAD to read the entire thing through asap. I used up literally every second of my free time to read this series. I even cheated and used some of my not free time..! I have read shifter adventures before but this one kept me on the edge of my seat. Lots of things I didn’t expect or things happening how I didn’t imagine they would. I had been reading a different author, but I really like this one. There is a LOT of chic porn type sexual content in here. I personally didn’t care for that, it’s just not by bag. I simply skipped over those bits. Easy enough. That’s the only single downfall of reading this author. This author is an amazing writer all on their own. They don’t need filler content. If her other books are half as good as this series, I’m sent! Solid fangirl here.
Since Nico stumbled upon a left for dead Maddy their lives have been fraught with danger. Staring death in the face 2 or 3 times over. Saving Maddy's loved ones from Viola's thugs. Tracking down & obtaining the vial & barely escaping with their lives. Viola manipulates cleverly & always seems one step ahead. Although they have the vial it seems the battle is far from over. Viola will not stop until she wipes all shifters from the world. Can the love, faith & hope be enough for Maddy, Nico & their shifter family & allies to prevail against the evil that is Viola & The Royals? Absolutely gutted that this is the end of the series. After everything they've been through I'd love to see the next chapter for Maddy, Nico & their pack. Watch them raise their family & see the relationships of their friends develop.
Viola and the Royals didn’t cower after Nico, Maddy and the shifter packs exposed some of their crimes against shifters. Viola declared war against them with help from a host of humans and the shifters are in a constant state of flux prepping for the physical war as smaller clans and packs are attacked. Without the response she expected. Viola raises the stakes again!
The shifters are prepared when Viola tries a different tact that semi-succeeds for her but also for the shifters as they realize how rampant her dementia and desire for vengeance really is. The shifters engage another plan they know will enrage Viola, possibly expose her dementia enough to temporarily stop her winning streak.
I liked but didn’t love this series finale. Questions were answered, the resolution was solid, etc. But to my taste it was too wordy as if a page count was the goal. Rating: 4stars
I loved the ending that including the birth of a baby and life without the threats Maddy and Nico faced. Happy to see the wicked witch is gone, Viola was insane. Maxwell is healing from the sustained abuse his mother Viola heaped on him at a young age. This book series kept me up reading until the end, there was nothing lacking in this book, definitely action packed, set-backs and heartache, but nothing compares to families protecting one another through the thick and thin of life and Nico proved that by rescuing Maddy at her bar. Shifters standing together is what makes the difference between life and death. Excellent read series, you will not be able to put it down. Maddy finally made a decision on the vial and I was happy to read the outcome. Great read!!
Maddy and Nico knew it was only a matter of time before things came to a head with Viola, but they may have overestimated her sanity and underestimated the lengths she'll go to get what she wants.
This kindle unlimited book feels epic in scope, building on the previous two books, with a slew of supporting characters that are fun (can Sinthy and Maxwell have a story, please? Two interesting characters in their own right could be magic together!), with some wonderful family, pack and friend dynamics throughout, then things level up near the end and Nick gets a reminder of just how interconnect our "small world" is.
Fated to Royalty book 3. A fanfreakingtastic way to end a series. Nico and Maddy along with their pack are in the middle of a war between humans and shifters. Being harassed plus tormented by an evil bigoted zealot and her equally hateful followers. These two cling to each other and the peeps that have their back to try and win this epic battle. So much drama and angst. High twisty WTF moments and hella craziness. Hopeful and oh so tingle worthy. It can touch issues of today without being preachy. A new author for me and I adored the whole series.
Hung on for the long haul. This story had so much potential! It was refreshing that the characters were actually open and honest but could have done without repeating everything everyone said with all the characters. With as much build up there was with the vial of blood and it being "like a nuclear bomb" that this whole series was based on, what actually occurred when it was consumed was very underwhelming. Chapters and chapters were dedicated fighting via the news, he said she said type of drama, when it came to the actual fight scene.. I was left desperately wanting. Giving it 2 stars overall for the series.
The ending was amazing! There was so much drama you almost felt like it would never end.
Viola trying to live up to her family legacy and eradicate all shifters is her only goal come hell or high water! She doesn’t care what it takes or who goes down in the fight.
Maddy and Nico are a great couple and thank goddess they aren’t perfect. They fight, worry, doubt, blame, and cry just like the rest of us.
They are both faced with impossible odds, expected of more than anyone should be and yet they handle it with more grace than others.
I loved this series and I will recommend it to others! 3 🌶️!!
In theory the book was good, had a good plot, same characters as the previous books (so readers were already invested in them, wanting to know what came next) However, this book did not capture and hold my attention like the 2nd book. It took me almost a week to read, when normally I finish a book in a day or 2. I can’t pinpoint why it didn’t hold my attention, but I felt like I was reading just to get to the end and not because I was enjoying it. Several times I considered not even finishing and just moving on to a different book
The premise of the series was interesting and different from others I've read. I simply could not stand the main characters. Maddy was so whiny and a brat. She was like those people in an office who complain but never offer any other idea. One minute she's practically crying over her love for her mate and the next minute she's angry because he doesn't understand. She gave me a headache. Nico was less annoying but not really appealing. It was overall fine but not as good as the premise.
I don't usually take this long to finish a book/series but I just wasn't into this one. The ridiculousness of it (Viola should have been dead in book 3) and the ongoing nonsense was just not fun to read. So I didn't read quickly.
I'm thankful it's over. That's the best thing I can say about the book. Ha.
The characters were often immature about things, though this wasn't as bad as the prior books. The story was a bit predictable as was the ending.
This was pretty good. I liked the lore and the world. The plot was fine, had a few holes but nothing major. Characters were pretty fleshed out (including a lot of good secondary ones), and generally made realistic choices. Not many typos for this author. Good villain.
My only real problem with this series is Abi and Sebastian. Horribly written from the start, everything felt wrong about their whole thing and I did not like how it ended. Luckily, it's not really important and you can just kinda ignore it if you want because it had no plot relevance at all.
Ok…. My heart may not have stopped. But let me tell you. I know I was holding my breath. 🤣 My previous review said the story had me wanting to join in the fight!!! In this 3rd book!! That yearning increased!! The antagonist of the story was so ruthless you couldn’t help but to want to join in on the fight and try to whoop her tail!! I try not to do spoilers. I really don’t. Let me say this. A few times I wonder if it was going to be a HEA. I hope you enjoy it!
This is the 3rd and final book in the series. It is a nice ending to the series.
The final fight takes place in this book against the anti shifters in order to protect all shifter packs. Will Nico and Maddy they finally defeat the evil Viola and get their HEA.
I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow! I didn’t expect that ending. This was a great book and the ending was wrote out very well- I give kudos to the author for writing this book and finishing this series in a great way! Maddie and Nico get their happy ending and their family and pack grows in more ways than one!! I feel like a book needs to be wrote about Donatello because his appearances were always weird and secretive. And then Sinthy too because the girl needs her own story told!
🌶🌶 Got my HEA. Ended pretty much how I thought but with one little twist. Spice took a backseat to the plot but I was honestly ok with that because I wanted to see how Viola would be dealt with. One of my favorite series to read, would I read it again? Probably not, since I know the ending now and I think what made it good was the not knowing how it would end (if that makes sense?).
This series was nerve racking but it flowed so well and it kept me on my toes. Just when I thought things were about to end bad. Things shifted. I will admit sometimes I wanted to toss the book but that’s because it was very realistic. I’ve enjoyed all three of them and I look forward to reading the rest of your books. Very intense but I loved them. Thank you sharing your gift with the world.
This is the last in the trilogy and had a few twists and turns until shifters stood with no fear. I honestly had not expected there to be so many different types of shifters until so many gathered. I can say that I didn’t read the last three chapters for a few days because it was like the end of the story already happened, but the three together were like a longer epilogue that was nice to read.
I enjoyed the story line in each of the books in this series. However, they need some editing both with grammar and content. In correct words are used which hinder the flow of the text. Also, in the final book a shifter clan led by Doug somehow changed from panthers to bears within the same chapter. Even with these distractions I look forward to other books from the author.
