With my fated mate at my side, we face the final showdown for survival.
The attacks on wolf shifter packs continue to rage on.
Humans will stop at nothing to see us wiped out.
And those we once trusted continue to help them.
Deception is our game now.
We must use all our resources to rescue the captive packs.
Before it’s too late.
The only thing stronger than the bond with my mate is my determination.
Blood will be shed in this fight.
But we’re willing to risk it all to save our species.
Survival of the supernatural world hangs in the balance.
It’s a battle I can only hope we won’t lose.
*Please Note* Welcome to Shadow City, where each trilogy focuses on a different pair of fated mates. By the end of every trilogy, each couple will have their happy ever after. However, not every mystery will be solved. Some secrets will span additional trilogies but will in no way take away from the individual stories.
Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, even as a little girl. When I was a toddler, my parents would read stories to me over and over. I would hear them so often that I had the books memorized and could recite the story word by word.
My favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary romance. So of course that's what I'm inclined to write.
I have a husband, two young daughters, and a mini Australian Shepherd. I've lived in Tennessee the majority of my life and love the state.
I'm extremely addicted to caffeine and enjoy drinking coffee and lattes. I am so pleased that you stopped by my page! Please feel free to follow or contact me at the following pages -
Okay, wow. This was such an action packed and emotional finale.
I collected all the books in this verse to read and enjoy since they were all released. After I had them all, I read them since I didn’t have to wait anymore for them to be released since this is the final series in the Shadow City world.
Jewel and Killian fight to to rescue a captive wolf shifter pack and also to make humans forget about supernaturals, ever since their existence was exposed to the world. Erin also plans to take over Shadow City and everyone races to battle her as well.
Jewel and Killian continue to support and understand one another in their relationship. They trust each other more and work to grow and become better together. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship continue to develop. It was so emotional and beautiful.
I loved the fight scenes in this book and the action, along with the finale. They are explosive and fast paced, keeping you hooked with the action until the very end. I can’t believe it’s really the end of this whole world, but Shadow City gets a new beginning and the supernatural races unite. A new council takes over. Humans no longer know about supernaturals.
I’m sad that it’s the end, and after reading the last line of this book, I grew a little emotional. But still, it was a beautiful ending and wrapped it all up. Loved this series and this entire world. This has to be my most favorite trilogy out of all the other series set in this world, it has better writing, memorable characters, and the romance is so emotional.
I received an ARC for this book. What a finish to the series. So much action, love, and trust. Jewel and Killian have learned to trust and accept each other. They learn to work together and their bond grows. I loved to see Sierra meet her mate too. I loved it!
This book includes Sierra and her fated mate! I love how well it wrapped up the entire series and gave you a conclusion on how the other coupes are doing moving forward !
Tom may be dead but there was still a traitor among them. As they drove up to meet with Tom’s cohort it was only partially a surprise to find the traitor in their midst waiting to meet them was someone they knew, Erin. It was fortuitous that they had brought Torak with them to meet the contact since he wasn’t known to the witch. It wasn’t much of a shock to realize Erin had been working with Tom against them. But why, what would she gain? For now, Torak must drive past the meeting spot. He stopped to let the others out of the car just beyond Erin’s sight, where she stood by her car. Even waiting in a Duncan Donut shop proved not to be safe for them now. After ordering coffee and donuts, Jewel and Killian quickly realized that one of the shops staff had recognized Killian and had headed in the back to contact the police. And so, it begins again, the struggle to find the captive packs, save them, while still having as little contact as possible with humans. But something was amiss. Tom was dead. Why was Erin helping humans capture shifters? Who might be next? At first it seemed like an act of revenge, but Erin had no interest there. Yes, Tom had targeted her mother’s old pack but now the pack that had been taken had nothing to do with that revenge. The kidnappings seemed to center around a territory. Another puzzle to solve.
Barely, escaping Erin’s questioning notice when they returned to Shadow City, after the meeting, the night before, the next morning they awoke to another demon attack upon humans. As Killian and Jewel headed into town to offer help to locate the human who had been dragged away by demons, field questions from the media and to calm down the raucous crowds, two more demons came flying down, directly in front of Jewel. Killian been walking towards her when he saw a knife appear in midair. As he had seen the knife so had others. He rushed forward with the media and town’s people close on his heels. Jewel was trying to deflect the knife when the demons in front her suddenly decided to quickly exist. As Killian and Jewel rushed towards to their truck to get away, Killian still had to try to answer questions being thrown at him by the media. Finally, managing to reach to truck they spun away from the crowds, the media cameras and a town full of angry, scarred humans.
As they sped away from town trying to lose a couple media vans behind them, Sierra called to let them know the others were heading to Rockwood, the location where the humans had taken to recently captured pack for experimentation. Killian, Jewel, Torak, Sierra, Roxy, Alex and the others gathered at the rental cabin close to where the pack was being held. Their first move was to scout out the government location. However, even before they could reach the building, they ran into human hunters looking for deer. Then Roxy fell into a trap set by the human captors outside the building. But the worst news was this building wasn’t going to be easy to break into, the shifters had been divided, held in cages, in different parts of the building, with guards surrounding it. Worse yet, they had already started experimening on the wolf shifters.
Their time was short if they wanted to save Torak’s pack mates, but tensions were running high even among the allies. Sierra, Jewel was certain was was the alpha’s mate, but they were spatting and arguing so loudly and so often she feared all of them would be caught before they could save anyone. Killian was not happy with the thought that Sierra might be mated to Torak and was making sure his feelings were known. Jewel was quick to realize the pressure Killian was under, the guilt that continued to crop up when some human recognized him as the spoke’s person for the supernaturals, his fear that Sierra would cling to Torak and eventually leave to pack to be with him. Then Killian would lose the last link to his lost family. Tensions ride high in this last tale, fights among those within the packs, fear they have lost the ability to shift or even communicate with pack members. There is still the puzzle as to how and why the packs are being targeted. The suspense rides right up there in the midst of danger that surrounds them on all sides. While the villains appear to have no scruples about life as long as they consider that life to be less then human.
Jewel has grown in each book, taken on responsibilities, learned to handle her guilt for not being with her father at the battle that cost his life or even being at the camp when her PawPaw’s pack was taken. Most of all she learned to accept and love her mate, a man that she first saw as the cause for the humans being made aware of the existence of them as supernatural beings. And therefore, the cause of the government searching for, capturing and torturing shifters. Now she was becoming part of the solution, often stepping up as a mediator in times of stress, standing by Killian and supporting him with her strengths, knowledge and common sense. Killian’s love grounds her, protects her, when she lets him, and has learned to let her take the led sometimes, in spite of his role as alpha, together they make a powerful team. Many of the characters from the first two books are back and we see a bit more of their personalities. All uniquely talented, sometimes volatile, always strong and full of snappy attitudes, with emotions running high, but always willing to pull together for their place in the world and peace for all.
Readers will find the imperfect good, the slightly twisted antiheroes, and a few true villains both human and supernatural, romantic encounters and love even for those who are different. There are battles, worries for those being held and tortured, shame for the actions of humans towards supernatural beings, love for the mates and how they look after their own. There is a story here that swallows up the hours, takes the breath away as you run forward to see how they may free their friends, enjoy the quips between friends and allies, delight in the romantic interludes between the main characters, wait for the villains to get their just desserts and if your favorites will reach the end. So I recommend that you grab a comfortable spot, crack open the tale and enjoy the journey all the way to the end.
Ruthless Moon is the third and final book in the Shadow City: Silver Mate series. This book was fast-paced and all-action, a fun and entertaining read. I expect nothing less from a Shadow City book.
Jewel has continued to learn and grow throughout the series. She takes things in stride, appreciates learning anything new to help her protect those that she loves, and has taken on a more leadership role. Jewel still has some issues to work on but she's doing good which enables her to take on the role of supportive mate which Killian could really use in this one.
Poor Killian is struggling for the first half of this book. Not only was his over-protectiveness still causing problems with Jewel but now they are causing problems with Sierra. I know he looks at her like a little sister but he's gonna have to come to terms that Sierra may have found her mate. This time, it was up to Jewel to support Killian, to help him understand his feelings and deal with his past trauma and how it might be affecting him currently. Especially after finally getting some of the answers he's been dying to know. I loved Killian from the first moment I met him and I really want him to have happiness.
Another rescue mission happens, this one bigger than before with more (maybe not so) bad guys, more shifters taken, and a bigger rescue operation that includes the gang from Shadow City and Sadie's gang. Things have smoothed out between the two groups. Everyone is working together and new mate bonds are popping up all over the place. It was very exciting. With raids, shootouts, helicopters, surprising allies, shocking plot twists, constant attacks, magic, and more. One of the characters described it as apocalyptic fantasy meets modern, and I don't disagree.
Is it any surprise that Erin is evil, we knew this but she keeps taking it to a whole new level. The witch is rotten to the core and her essence is starting to show it. I hate to say it but Erin is an evil genius. I think Azbogah was holding her back because the crap that she's pulling now is Megamind type stuff. Something is revealed that I always guessed at but didn't have proof. of. Longtime secrets got spilt and Erin's evil plans have finally been revealed and it looks like she's been working on this for a while. Turns out Erin was the true villain after all.
I can't believe it's over. Ruthless Moon isn't just the final book in Killian's story but it's the final Shadow City book period. The story has come full circle with questions answered and everything wrapped up. No more stories with the characters I have come to care about but it was well worth it. Ruthless Moon was a wild ride and the perfect ending to the Shadow City Universe.
This was such an amazing book and had the perfect ending to finish both Killian and Jewel’s trilogy and also the Shadow City series. As much as I loved the story, I’m also really sad to say goodbye to this fantastic group of characters that I’ve loved reading about.
This story had action throughout as well as some tender moments as Killian and Jewel strengthen their bond. Some of our favourites from another Jen L. Grey series who were introduced earlier also returned in this book to help our Shadow City group. There were a few tense moments in the battle scenes but . . . SPOILER . . . . . . . . . . . . . we got our happy ending for our favourite characters.
I’ve loved all of Jen L. Grey’s books and I highly recommend her as an author. I know she’s busy with a new series at the moment but I really hope that there’ll be a Novella (or 2) down the track so we can see all of these characters a year or 2 later, or a follow up when their kids are teens. It would also be amazing to have a Novella from Sierra’s POV as she settles into her new life. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
I want to start by saying that if you are just picking up this book, make sure to read the first two in the trilogy as one ends, the next begins. I highly recommend that all of the couples' stories (trilogies) in this Shadow City World are worth reading and characters do make appearances in subsequent books.
Now as for Ruthless Moon, we get to see how the friends all come together to protect the supernatural world. The ending is unexpected but the perfect way to end Shadow City series and this trilogy. Read to find out what it takes for Jewel and Killian to accept the past, protect their family and friends, and save the supernatural world. The action, suspense, love and the bonds these characters build will keep you turning the pages so you don't miss a thing. Hate for this book family to end but look forward to see what world the author builds for us to travel to next.
Jewel, Killian, and all the others are back and from the start they find out an allie is actually an enemy. While thebtry to figure out where the missing pack wad taken things get worse in shadow city with the demons attacking humans and things get even more intense when one of the witches coven with in the city tells them a few secrets. After they find the pack and save what more will they have to overcome before they can be at peace? Will they be destroyed or will they survive? With they figure out who is actually behind it all? Holy cow! This one totally blew my mind and left me with a few tears, and a smile. This series brings and the author give you every emotion, action, suspense, romance, and so much more. Absolutely loved this series and loved seeing some old faces, and a whole lot of new ones. I so can't wait to read what she has next.
Jen L. Grey has done it again! Not only is she a master at story lines, but the way she weaves these series into one masterfully detailed world is mind blowing! I can’t get enough of her creativity with just the right amount of 🌶️🌶️🌶️!
Jewel and Killian’s story comes to a close, which is bittersweet. So glad Killian finally found someone to complete him and fill the void left by losing his family. But sad that this part of the story is done. For once, I won’t give away spoilers except that they end up happy in the end. And if the final line doesn’t say it all, then I don’t know what does.
“After all, love never ends. It’s always with us.”
My obsession with Jen L. Grey’s writing shall continue on and I’m looking forward to her next book! Go pick up her books now, just do it! Trust me, you’ll thank me later! 😉🖤
OMG! This whole series is the best! It starts with Sterlyn who escapes the people who murdered her pack. She runs into another shifter who introduces her to her fated mate. He, in turn, introduces her to another shifter who runs into his fated mate, who has been raised with another girl who also comes to town and meets a vampire who is her fated mate. They also befriend an angel who eventually meets her fated mate. All of these different supernatural work together to fight the evil that happens when humans are informed that supernatural exist. Does this sound really confusing? Well, it's not really. You just have to read the books and it all makes perfect sense. It makes for an awesome series of books. Shadow City is central in all the books.
Jen has done it again! I have fallen in love with the Shadow City World, but I had fallen in love with Sadie's world as well - and having the two collide was literally the best icing on the cake. I loved being able to see the tie up of the rest of the characters who I wanted to have an HEA. Everything about this book was beautiful, well written, and immersive. I love the way that Jen writes and is able to literally table me to this place she has created and allow me to watch it (almost like a movie in my mind). I would recommend this series and all of the series leading up to literally anyone and everyone!
There was so much action in this series I thought they were never going to get a break. A sweet ending to a world we never wanted to leave. I sure hope we get to visit them all again someday like we got to see Sadie and her pack again. I love the crossover and how things mixed together and so many found their loves because of it. 🥰
BTW, we now need a novela about Killian and Jewel’s baby, you can’t just leave us curious and hanging like that!!!
Loved this - “like the United States government, though less corrupt”, less corrupt than the US or old council? 😂
The Scoobies continue to track the mastermind behind the shifter pack kidnappings and experimentation. They’ve also confirmed a traitor in their ranks as they battle their way to the next step. Along the way, Sierra may have gotten her fondest wish though everyone doesn’t agree.
To this reader’s taste, most of the characters (exceptions are the capeless, insufferable duo, Rosemary and Jewel) were fun and/or interesting. However, the repetition, amount of filler-like information and tiring catch phrases (I hadn’t considered that; I’m an angel/silver wolf, lesser beings) outweighed the sparkling lights and action of Shadow City last two trilogies. Rating: 3stars
What a great ending to an amazing world. Shadow City was more than I could have ever expected and as great as this book is, I am definitely sad to say goodbye to these characters that we have seen grow so much.
I loved that the main group all found their fated mates and the action in this book was top notch which is to be expected. All of our questions are answered and we definitely get the closure needed and it did not feel rushed.
My favorite part is definitely how Sadie, Egan and crew were brought in and merged the two worlds! Super excited to see what Jen brings us next!!
This was an epic, all out brawl which has been brewing since the beginning as it was not only Azbogah that was causing issues in Shadow City and it was about time that Erin got what was coming to her.
The fight scene was insane (I pictured it like the big battle in Breaking dawn part 2 lol)
I loved how the two groups were able to come together and sort things out...and even though its the end of Shadow City series, there is still more to be discovered in this world
Ps: i feel so bad for Torak, he has Sierra as his fated mate lol
I've managed to go through 16 books of the Shadow City series, but I've hit my limit this one at 45% and had to DNF. It's not that I enjoy leaving books unfinished, but this time, I just couldn't continue. The feeling of repetition is overpowering like I'm reading the same story with different names. It seems like each trilogy could have been condensed into two books at most. The number of new characters in this trilogy is overwhelming, making it challenging to remember who's who, who's mated to whom, and what's happening overall. It's been a ride, but it's time for a different journey.
What an ending to not only this series but to the Shadow City world in general! So much action as the group set out to save the shifters that have been taken and find a way to fix everything that has gone wrong since supernaturals were revealed to the world. It all comes down to this book. Jewel and Killian have come so far and their relationship is stronger than ever. They'll work together with their friends, old and new, to stop those who have been working against them. So much goes down in this story. So many revelations and closure on lots of our favorite characters. It's a whirlwind of a story. One you won't be able to put down. It was such a blast reading this series. And though I'm sad this story has ended, I look forward to many more books and worlds from Jen L. Grey!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m so glad they all finally get to enjoy their lives without so much chaos. Jewel and Killian deserve a happy ending they have been through so much from start to finish, all of them have actually. They deserve to enjoy each other and what life has to offer them. I have really enjoyed this series and will miss this group of characters. Looking forward to seeing what’s next.
I was waiting for Killian`s story and I loved that another silver wolf was brought in, Jewel. This series of books is packed with a lot of action. Jen also introduced new characters in this book that goes with other books she has written.
This book went a lot smoother for me compared to the other books in the Shadow City series. There was still recaps and character dialog but they were short and got to the point.
This is the grand resolution and it is as action-packed and contrary as all the rest. It gets just as repetitive with the constant "so glad he's mine" revelations. I was hoping for a trilogy for Breena, but on the other hand I'm glad this journey is done. If you like sappy stories with eventual happy endings you'll love this author. For me, though I was entertained, I'm more than happy to move on.
I liked Jewels story very much. He strengths both in character and determination made this book interesting. Her willingness to go all out for her pack and mate was truly amazing
I'm a huge classical music fan and the calming effects of the music in her head helped to make this book doubly enjoyable.
I just wish that all the scores were listed at the end of the book
Okay, after binging all 16 books the last few days, omg. Maybe with it spread out, it wouldn't be as intense as where I just couldn't wait for it to end. Like these characters went through h**l, I just wanted them to be done with all the chaos already and have their HEA's. They finally do. They are good books. It just takes all 16 books to get to the point, is all.
Wow, what a trip. So glad Killian and Sierra both found their fated mates. Still love Sierra's snark and sarcasm. And Rosemary still had me laughing with her "all hands on deck" comment. I started the first Shadow City book about 2.5 weeks ago and just plowed threw all 16 books. It's a fantastic world and I'm glad we got closure on who was responsible for the deaths of Killian's family and Griffin's father.
Awesome read! There was so much going on to tie up the story arc, but it tied everything in a nice bow. The gang vanquished the final bad guy, got the humans to forget them and got a start on the society they wanted. They were severely out numbered and still kicked butt. I can’t wait for what Jen writes next I am sure it will be as awesome as all her reads are.
This was the last book for the series and I was a little worried for Killian during most of it. He's my favorite character, I couldn't help it. But the plan came together in the end, after much action and drama. This put a nice pretty bow on a lot of things from the series and while I still recommend just read all three in one shot, I would not be lost if I picked up this book first.
I'm so terribly sad that my shadow city packs story is over but it was a beautiful action packed ending for a remarkable series of books that i have loved since the first one. Thank you Jen L. Grey for writing these books and making me fall in love with this world and the characters in it!!
I loved this entire series and this last book brought it all together in with a bang! Sierra is a pain, but very funny and irritating. Killian and Jewel are definitely stronger together. All the new characters were very interesting, with their different abilities and dynamics. Wish it didn’t have to end!
I enjoy Jen Grey's, book so much. She is a fabulous writer she knows how to draw you in and keep you there. I can go a month or so between chapters due to life.. and pick up where I left off, remembering it all. These are story you don't forget about... Love them so much. Thank you for each new story.
I've read the whole story.. This series has kept me on the edge of my seat!! I've always wanted to know what was happening next and couldn't wait for the next book to be release.. Thankfully we have star's to show off!! If you've not read the whole series I recommend you start at the beginning.. And I look forward to seeing what the authors come up with next.
