Archeologists are found murdered in the wake of discovering a mysterious, precious relic, deep in the jungles of South America, and Jacob Snow, elite soldier-turned-CIA agent, finds himself in a race against time to uncover the mysterious motives. Not only is this ancient relic priceless, but it could unsettle world security.
Jacob knows he must turn once again to his mysterious partner and archeologist to help decode the riddle. Who would kill for a mythical object, and why?
Can they stop the terrorists—and prevent a global disaster—before it’s too late?
Jack Mars is author of the bestselling LUKE STONE thriller series, which include the suspense thrillers ANY MEANS NECESSARY (book #1), OATH OF OFFICE (book #2) and SITUATION ROOM (book #3).
Our Archeologist heroine is finally falling for our hero. But them saving each other’s lives multiple times in each book is a little far fetched. I think Jacob is up on her 6 to 4. This is like a female Indiana Jones partnering with a James Bond type. With the added intrigue of Bond with PTSD and a little nutso. Great stories though. Will start Target 5 in a few days.
Jack Mars delivers another adrenaline-pumping, espionage masterpiece with "Target Four (The Spy Game)." In this heart-stopping thriller, Mars once again proves why he is a master of the genre, weaving a complex web of intrigue, danger, and high-stakes action that will leave readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page.
In the aftermath of Target Three, where Jacob barely escapes an attempt on their life and recovers from an injured wrist, he gets a coded message from Agent 313 (someone who has been long declared dead by the CIA) that Dr. Jana Peters is kidnapped. At about the same time, deep in the Peruvian jungles, a team of archeological expedition is ambushed and brutally killed after they make a startling discovery at a lost Inca site. Among the killed is Professor Nasby, a longtime friend and mentor to Jana.
Jacob manages to rescue Jana from the kidnappers with the help of Mexican police and soon the duo set out into the jungles of Peru to investigate the whereabouts of Professor Nasby and his team. The rain forest of Peru is flush with warring tribal factions, mercenaries, the Peruvian government, and international smuggling groups, who are interested in the treasures of the jungle, known as the El Dorado. Accompanying Jacob and Jana is a French Interpol officer and a Peruvian woman who is their local guide. Jana knows that El Dorado was only considered to be a myth within their circles, but was it real? She is just about to find out. As they delve deeper into the jungle, they are faced with hostilities from dangerous animals and insects, enduring heat and ambushes from various groups.
Mars's writing style is sharp, tight, and incredibly fast-paced. Each chapter leaves readers eager to unravel the mystery and discover the truth behind Target Four's sinister motives. As the plot thickens, the tension builds, and the stakes soar to unimaginable heights. The author's skillful use of suspense keeps readers hooked, and the unexpected twists and turns keep the readers guessing until the very end. With its well-drawn characters, relentless action, and plot filled with twists and turns, this novel is a must-read for fans of the genre. Jack Mars once again proves himself as a top-tier author in the world of spy thrillers, and readers like me are undoubtedly eagerly awaiting the next thrilling installment.
This book is so good that I read it in a day! Jacob Snow and Jana Peters once again team up to find some archeologists in South America that tried to radio in an SOS, but the transmission was cut short and the recipients heard gunshots in the background. This time, they're assisted by a local agent and an Interpol agent. The action is fast paced and well written. Enjoy!
Follows on nicely from book 3 Both are still tired from fighting pirates and that plays a factor in this story. No real surprises, what are supposed to be are well telegraphed. Hopefully the next book moves on from archeology, to the hunt for Aaron, I see that as more interesting aspect, now that the 2 of them are friends
This book will have you sweating like you are in the jungle on the expedition. Well written descriptive story, with amazing twists and turns. Full of action and adventure.

Another excellent installment of The Spy Game series featuring CIA agent Jacob Snow and archeologist, Janna Peters. This one takes place in the Amazon rainforest and if you love Indiana Jones vibes you'd love this one!
Jacob Snow is sent to the Peruvian Amazon to investigate the fate of a group of archeologists. Jana and two liaisons from Interpol accompany him to this are full of insects and dangerous animals and people. Another fast-paced read in the very entertaining Spy Game series.
I listened to the audiobook of Target Four by Jack. This story follows Jacob Snow, an elite soldier turned CIA agent who gets pulled into another high stakes mission when archaeologists start turning up murdered after discovering a mysterious and priceless relic deep in the jungles of South America. What starts as an archaeological breakthrough quickly turns into a deadly trail of bodies and secrets. That relic is not just valuable, it could shake world security to its core.
Jacob jumps into the case knowing right away this is not something simple or clean. Someone is killing to keep the truth buried, and the question hanging over everything is who would want this relic so badly that they are willing to spill blood for it.
Once again, Jacob has to work with his mysterious archaeologist partner to decode the ancient riddles tied to the object. Their partnership is tested as they move deeper into a jungle full of danger, deception, and hidden agendas. Every clue they uncover pulls them closer to a truth someone is desperate to keep hidden.
As the race against time tightens, the stakes climb higher and higher. The threat is no longer just local, it is global, and stopping it becomes a matter of preventing disaster on a massive scale. This book keeps the pressure on from beginning to end with nonstop tension and fast moving action.
