Jenni’s Christmas Gift is book six in A Pineville Christmas series by Cynthia Cooke. This book runs parallel in time to the previous book, Candy’s Christmas Wish, which was Candy and Linc’s story. You can read this as a stand alone but it was kind of cool that we got to see the big fundraiser again but this time through Jenni’s eyes. Jenni is Candy’s best friend and the hero, Bryce, is the best friend of Linc. I love this series. These books read like Hallmark movies in my mind. I see the beautiful, decorated town and feel all the holiday vibes. You can read these at any time of year just for all the good feels you get from them.
Jenni Jones is both a kindergarten teacher and runs a pet rescue foundation. She tries to give both jobs her all but life just doesn’t work like that and it was her teaching that suffered the most. She and her best friend, Candy’s fiance, Linc, have become partners in the pet rescue, with Linc mostly concentrating on rescuing larger animals while Jenni on the cats and dogs. Linc’s best friend, and also that he served in the military with, Bryce, is home from deployment and has been staying at their farm and helping with all the animals. When Jenni finds herself in a hard spot, needing to drive to Boston with a pending storm in the distance, it’s Bryce that jumped in to help.
Bryce Whittaker is finally home for good from serving in the military and from a long deployment. He has been hiding out more or less in Pineville, New Hampshire at his best friend’s farm and has discovered he loves working with the animals. He loves riding the ranch on horseback and just being outside all day. Mostly, though, Bryce is hiding from his very toxic family who is in Boston. They are a very affluent family and part of the will from Bryce’s grandfather states that to inherit his trust fund, he is required to work at the family financial business. It’s the last thing he wants to do. He wants to live life on his own terms and is realizing that he would love that to be right there in Pineville, doing what he’s been doing with the animals.
Bryce and Jenni are attracted to each other but Bryce has learned the hard way to keep who he really is a secret. People tend to treat him differently once they learn who his family is. So Jenni thinks he’s just a down on his luck cowboy trying to figure out what to do with his life.
Jenni’s rescue foundation is about to fall apart with no money coming in and plenty of past due bills to pay. Bryce convinces Jenni to attend his family’s Christmas party which he is required to attend as his fake fiance and in return he will let people know about her foundation and try to get donations. But all the while, they are falling for each other for real. At the same time, the bad luck just keeps coming for Jenni, one thing after another.
These two really were so sweet. And all the talk of the adorable pets made it even better. I really am loving this series and am immediately starting the final book, Saving Christmas, which is Jenni’s sister, Roni’s book. I am hoping to get updates on how Jenni and Bryce are doing as well!

I enjoyed Jenni’s Christmas gift which was Bryce and Jenni’s story. It was an entertaining read. I received a copy via HG and voluntarily leaving this review.
