Maddy Mara is the melding of their respective daughters' names.
This is something a preteen girl would write. It's choppy, poorly edited, doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and is pretty boring and pointless. How can a book with all of ten chapters feel like it is taking forever to read.
I wasn't impressed, and honestly I'm not sure my kids were super engaged.
My wife mentioned how it sounded like social-emotional learning, but I thought it was just poor writing. Characters simply announcing how they feel (You can't just have you characters say how they feel, that makes me angry . . . . . . any Futurama fans anymore?).
The narwhals were kind of cute and funny, but every other character was a mess. The plot was a mess. Everything about this was so . . . so bad.
